Hi it’s Miss Doodles and welcome back to the everything series for the many interesting twists I took during development to of course the biggest Beacon of all time today we’re going to talk everything beacons this is your complete guide so where do we start where do we start Well logically I think it’s actually pretty straightforward we need to start with this thing right here the beacon this is a beacon but did you know that that thing it wasn’t always called The Beacon it definitely didn’t always look like that and when it comes to getting the thing In survival you had options before let’s kick things off by throwing it back so the beacon is a pretty Advanced part of the game with it being so Advanced it’s pretty clear that it’s going to go through a lot of changes the beacon was first added to Minecraft in 1.4.2 and when it was added in snapshot 12 w32a it was actually called the work in progress block and looked a little bit something like this I gotta say let’s take that texture and make it like a glass texture let’s click beautiful no we could spend all day we really could Just talking about the development and the changes of the beacon went through bud let’s just go ahead and jump forward to 15 w31a in this snapshot this is how it looked pretty familiar kind of an interesting notable thing here is this is before Japan’s texture update which Means all of these are like insanely insanely nostalgic love that rabbit one yeah anyways from that let’s go ahead and slide over to the end because something very interesting took place inside of this snapshot Oh yeah baby look at me I’m a professional and that’s wild for about a week in 2015 starting in snapshot 15w 31a and ending in 15w 32c beacons generated inside of the end ship now look I’m definitely not saying this is a good thing this would make the structure literally the single most Overpowered thing in the entire world but it is definitely interesting having a beacon here and then eventually the elytra as well yeah that could have been absolutely insane for the sake of progression it’s probably a good thing the devs removed that one nowadays if you’re looking to get your hands on one Of the best things in Minecraft survival and these are gonna be a whole lot more difficult so this video is not really a guide to taking on the Wither and beating it that’s a topic of its own but what you do need to know is that you’re Gonna need to know the Wither the very first step to getting your hands on that juicy Beacon is going to be taking on one of these things in Minecraft Survival we won’t be going over it in this video but if you’re looking for the easiest way to beat this thing in Survival zero risk involved and check out this one after this summon in the Wither and then take the thing out once you do you’ll be rewarded with a really interesting looking item the trophy for beating the Wither and also your ticket to the beacon it’s going to be this Interesting looking item right here it’s called the nether star and it’s a crafting ingredient good news getting your hands on that nether star that’s like the hardest step of everything involving a beacon once you’ve done that you’re in a clear so alongside the nether star you’re gonna need two more Ingredients you’re gonna need to get your hands on some glass and you’re gonna need to get your hands on some obsidian take the three ingredients over to the crafting table place the nether starve front and center line the bottom with obsidian and then encase the top of The singing glass and voila oh it’s beautiful your very first beacon one thing to note about this glass is that it has to be normal plain old clear glass stained glass or tinted glass will not work so anyways throw those in the crafting table like that and grab your Beacon turn around and excitement place it down and and Debbie get a panic because you realize you don’t have a pickaxe and you’re just wasted an insanely insanely expensive thing not good nah just kidding just kidding don’t worry the beacon even though it looks like it’s made out of glass and obsidian You can actually break this thing in 100 survival with your hand taking that one step farther actually we’ve got a big misconception about the beacon here I am in 100 survival with one of the best fake axes in the entire game if I break this thing with my hand It breaks like that if I break this thing with a pickaxe it it breaks exactly the same breaking a beacon with your hand versus breaking it with a pickaxe there is no difference at all so you’ve got your beacon you’re grinding for it you place it down and Now you wait for your effect and you wait and you’re waiting something’s wrong the next up for a beacon involves what I like to call a tribute you’re gonna need a tribute material for the beacon now when it comes to a trivia you got options on options on options you could do Netherriting and get emerald diamond gold or iron so we’re big expensive here we take this nether I didn’t get drop it there and then surely we should be able to surely short yeah so a beacon one plays down on its own it is technically a beacon but at The same time it’s kind of not really a beacon at all to actually activate a beacon you’re gonna need solid blocks with those tribute materials Place those on a 3X3 on the ground the beacon at the top of the thing and then you’re good to go I kind of there’s a lot more to it the beacons are expensive but you’ve also got a lot of options when it comes to building a beacon at the least you will need a 3X3 of solid material blocks the specific materials that you’re going to need for your beacons pyramid are Gonna be the same materials that you contribute to this thing as payment so we start with a solid 3×3 of materials can be any of those I’ll pop the exact item number up on screen if we want to extend the Beacon’s range and unlock some new powers we add a 5×5 down below That thing then after that we’re gonna add a seven by seven and finally a 9×9 for a full Beacon when you’re building a beacon you do not need to use the same material you could mix and match them for something cool or you go big flex and build your entire Beacon out of Netherland interestingly the type of material doesn’t matter at all though in this case netherride is just as good as iron if you’re looking to gather up the supplies you’ll need for the base three Farms I could recommend you an iron farm a gold Farm or some kind of villager Trading farm for emeralds expanding your Beacon’s pyramid downwards we’ll do three different things the first thing it’ll do is unlock new effects that you can choose for example jump boost or all the way at the bottom a bonus effect of regeneration the second thing expanding your beacons pyramid will do will expand Its range so at that first layer of that Beacon pyramid over there the iron layer if I love to do that I would have a range of 20 blocks by adding a layer you’ll add 10 blocks to the range which means you’ll end up with a maximum of 50 Blocks range this is going to be a radius from the center and it’s going to be a square shape instead of a circle this range will also extend downwards so if you’re going 20 blocks out you’re going 20 blocks down if you’re going 50 blocks out you’re going 50 blocks down In the up Direction it’s going to be 384 blocks the final bonus is expanding your beacon will get is the overlooked one by expanding your beacon downwards you increase the duration of the effect that the beacon Grants you and speaking of effect the perfect segue let’s dive into Range and effects a little bit more so at this point you’ve not only placed your beacon down but you’ve gone one farther and built a giant pyramid beneath this thing that’s great next up to actually kick it all off we’re gonna need to pick on effect that we want to Grant ourselves so inside of this Beacon with a full Beacon we have every single effect unlocked we’ll talk specifics in a minute but uh for now let’s say we want haste two we’re gonna pick haste and then we’re gonna pick do over there then we’re gonna put a tribute in here The tribute just like the type of block that you use to build the Pyramid does not matter at all so hey I don’t know maybe you choose something cheap go ahead and hit check and give it a second that effect is supplied I know with this Beacon fully blocked up a forward tier Beacon we’re gonna essentially have this effect for an infinite duration any time we’re within 50 blocks of this thing by default a vegan will grant an effect for nine seconds we add two seconds for every single layer of the Pyramid of course if we stay within the range the Beacon it doesn’t matter where it comes into play play is if we leave because we’re out of range of the beacon the beacon will not continuously grant us that effect eventually it’ll run out that means with the maxed out Beacon this effect will last you a total of 17 Seconds so once you leave the Beacon’s range taking away blocks from the beacons pyramid also basically counts as leaving the range by removing just one block right here and checking our effects we’ve now gone from haste 2 and down to haste one we’ll put that block back and As soon as we do we’re right back to hastu when a beacon is granting its Beacon effect it doesn’t matter how close or far you are from the beacon as long as you’re within that range whatever it is based off of the size of the pyramid you will get the same Intensity of that effect meaning like the duration and the level when interacting with a beacon on both Jabba and Bedrock you’ve got two options for this example let’s say we have a fully built up Beacon inside of the interface here when we put a tribute here we could choose one of these Effects or we could use regeneration and one of these effects so uh first things first actually pull this off we’ll pick an effect this time we’ll go with jump boost once we get over to this side we have two options we could choose regeneration over here and have jump Boost one or we could cut out regeneration because I don’t know we don’t need it if we could pick jump boost too by selecting jump boost 2 over there and paying for it we’ll get jump boost too instead by selecting regeneration as our secondary power and Then paying for it we will not only get jump boost one but we’ll also actually get regeneration the jump boost 2 from the previous Beacon is gonna have to run out but once it does I guarantee you we’ll have jump boost and regeneration as well and this will work exactly the same for All the other Beacon effects as well you’ve got two options a bump that effect up to level two or keep it at level one and give yourself regeneration as well the max amount of effects one single Beacon can grant you is gonna be two however the blocks that we use to Build the base of the pyramid we can actually double those up and overlap them into a mega Beacon if you find yourself in a situation of wanting every single Beacon effect at once you start with an 11 by 10 base of the pyramid next up a 9×8 7×6 5×4 and finally at the Top six beacons then you can go inside of every single Beacon here and give yourself the second layer of every effect and finally in the third one maybe like an extra layer of something and regeneration in a realistic typical survival situation is not necessary at All like you really don’t have to do it but if you’re trying to flex or something or you just want to have every single effect I mean it is pretty cool because you’re utilizing the blocks and combining everything you actually save on materials I mean there’s gonna be a Lot here for sure but it’s way cheaper than six separate pyramids it builds just like that something to keep in mind another thing to keep in mind on Java at least is simulation distance beacons are definitely affected by the simulation distance toggle theoretically if we move this thing down to an impossible a Simulation distance of four a level four Beacon wouldn’t reach the entire area but beacons aren’t only good for decoration flexing and effects there’s also another part of the beacon that is super useful the beam Beacon beams can be seen from an absurd distance on Java Edition that distance is going to be 256 Blocks on Bedrock this would be a little smaller 64 but still as long as your render distance is high enough you could see these things from a pretty far distance away you could maybe use it to Mark something or he even more beautifully and maybe use it to make Some kind of beautiful light show by placing glass inside of the Beacon’s beam the color will actually change and it’s not just going to be your normal 16 colors in Minecraft you can actually make more for starters here glass panes or solid glass blocks will work the same It doesn’t matter if we go ahead and start mixing in different colors in here the beam will actually take the two colors combine them together and output a new color that means if you wanted to you could use things like white and black to lighten or darken a color or You could go crazy and mix things in and come up with some kind of horrendous combination when messing with colors the distance in between each color does not matter at all as soon as the color hits the next color it’ll change to to whatever the next color is If you catch what I’m saying it’s a pretty cool thing and if you happen to have like 16 spare beacons in your world it’s a very very nice Flex too and creates a beautiful looking effect I mean look at this thing full rainbow right there hey it’s just about beautiful Beacons are basically Unstoppable and until you block them from the sky with a solid block if you have a solid block or in other words a block that does not let light through the beacon will not be able to activate this is going to include the relatively newer tinted Glass interestingly however this does not include Bedrock Bedrock does not affect a beacon at all which means you could build one of these things in the nether that’s pretty cool over in our Beacon survival world next up let’s talk about every single effect and what those effects do so uh we start By placing a beacon down then we go ahead and choose the effect like we talked about earlier of course if you wanted to you could double all these effects to Layer Two which will increase their their effect first things first we’ve got speed and we’ll go ahead and bump it Up to speed two with the speed effect granted you’ll move a whole lot quicker than normal this is without running and with running I mean the thing is kind of insane this is pretty sweet thinking about things a little bit here if we go ahead and combine this speed to Effect with a pair of Soul Speed 3 boots right here and uh just go ahead and walk on Soul speed things get pretty insane pretty quickly check this out it’s actually like insane you can move so quickly it’s kind of busted all right but anyways going in order next up we’ve Got haste and even better haste too this is one of the best effects in the entire game if you’ve ever heard anybody talk about insta mining this is what they’re talking about right here so with Haze through by the beacon I go ahead and start mining these blocks and Unfortunately not insta but if I go ahead and take this pickaxe put efficiency 5 on it and oh it does so quick it’s so quick it’s amazing if we go ahead and switch things over to a pickaxe it’s a plain old thing not instant but with efficiency five again Oh it’s instant haste two beacons can help you clear out a massive amount of area pretty quick going in order of our Beacon here next up we’ve got resistance resistance does exactly what you would think it would do with that resistance effect granted to us especially resistance too if we take Damage we’ll resist it a little bit more than usual next up we’ve got jump boost and jump boost is another one of those straightforward ones with a jump boost too we’ll be able to jump a whole lot higher than usual you see that right there that’s two blocks but trying to Jump up three blocks with jump boosts too my dreams are crushed and ruined you can’t do it easy way to remember this is basically jump boost 2 equals two blocks it’s pretty cool next up check this out here we have a husk right here and for This next effect he doesn’t mind one hit right there two hit it right there three hits right there and it’s gone over inside of the beacon and by raising this thing up to three tiers we unlock strength or by maxing it out strength two the strength basically makes us Stronger if we go ahead and hit this thing with strength two one hit right there two hit right there oh it’s such a okay it gets not that much of a difference maybe this is the least useful one and finally the last but not least we have regeneration now with Regeneration being over here on the right side it’s gonna be a little bit different regeneration is gonna be the only Beacon effect the max is out at level one regeneration I mean I was pretty straightforward with regeneration your health will regenerate a little bit faster it’s nice All right so now let’s get a little bit sneaky so far it seems like I could have like haste one and regeneration or maybe jump boost one in regeneration Java players only can actually pull something a little bit different off to kick this all off we’ll go ahead and reset the Beacon if we break the beacon and give it a little bit of time these effects will go away watch this maybe you didn’t know about it and I always forget about it myself inside of the beacon we place it down then we go ahead and put a Tribute in here and we’ll pick uh I don’t know a haste it too then what we’ll do is we’ll go ahead and go back over here and pick a different one so let’s say strength one go ahead and hit check And there we go haste one strength one checking us out of the effects into sure enough haste one a strength one it’s beautiful now back inside the beacon we’ll pull it off again we’ll go ahead and pick speed and then speed two this time I will select Dave resistance additionally go ahead And put this in here and just pay for it wait a give it a second and all of a sudden I got that speed effect and I’ve got that strength effect the other ones are just running out there we go they’re gone but one and one I am not sure if This is a bug or if it’s intended but one thing that I am sure of is it’s Java only I’m sorry and so there’s basically just about it hey basically one final thing to know about the beacon is the fact that it gives off light and can definitely be Blown up beacons give off a light level of 15 and if exploded well despite appearing to and literally being made partially out of obsidian uh if a beacon is blown up the beacon will blow up from effects to range to more beacons that’s everything to know If you’ve got a Bonus Beacon bag for me throw that down in the comments below and if you enjoyed this episode annihilate that subscribe button there’s more where this came from thank you all so so much for watching this is big Waddles I’ll see you next time goodbye oh Still here did I swore you with a lot by now but I I guess since you’re here it’s time for bonus fact over the years the beginner has gone through many different iterations one of those beautiful iterations was basically this right here that’s like that’s so cool looking but It’s not my favorite don’t get me wrong I do like how the beacon looks now but it almost looks like that right there isn’t that kind of amazing it looks like a miniature yellow end Crystal it was fascinating I’ll go ahead and Link those resource packs down in the description For you check them out another fun fact about the beacon is during the development to 1.9 for a little bit of time they were actually able to interact with Hoppers meaning you could input supplies into the beacon using a hopper it’s kind of interesting anyways that’s it for real this time get Out of here Video Information
