With the new Minecraft 1.20 update right around the corner adding a bunch of new and exciting things like the bamboo blocks I was feeling pretty excited so I hit up my friend Valerian to see if he was Keen to build something with me okay hear me out jungle biome transformation He was Keen so I generated a new world jungle biome and we got to work Val has had much more experience with larger scale builds than I have so he showed me one of the ways he plans his builds using a small scale model together we Came up with this design that featured a large jungle tree in the center surrounded by a mashup of houses trees rivers and waterfalls we wanted to keep as much of the vanilla terrain as possible but also wanted it to look a little more Rocky and fantasy so we used A bunch of world editor and voxel sniper to shape the terrain into something closer to our vision once all that came in really handy was the boulder brush tool by akion we used it to make the overhanging rock shelves thus suggested that we change the biome To a warm ocean so that the water would be a lighter more tropical color but that also meant that the grass looked a little bit lifeless so we swapped the dull grass out for Moss which looked a lot better we also wanted to warm up the Stone color a bit so Val made a gradient brush using orangey Brown blocks and used that to paint over the stone surfaces in the meantime I started laying out where the rivers would go using the surface spline brush to paint in their pods this is a really useful tool I Often use it to make natural looking roads and walkways and that kind of thing we paste it in some Boulders as well as this old head asset valve had worked on because we thought it really fit the theme well but later removed it because the scale was too big for everything Else and with that the terrain was pretty much finished next game time to start working out the giant tree we plan to add in the center of the map the first step was to figure out the size of the trunk then from there I could work Out the scale of the rest of the tree and add in the branches I used the spike and curve commands to create shapes that flowed and had a little bit more movement to them compared to straight and pointy shapes which I didn’t feel were quite right for this environment All up this part of the build took me about two hours to get something that I was happy with with the trunk and branches mostly worked out I started painting in the leaves using a sphere brush a 40 lime wall and 60 air this part is always super fun because you Really start to see the tree come to life I felt like the roots looked a bit boring so I added a bunch of detail before swapping out all of the wool for the actual blocks I was going to use and then added a little bit more detail to The vines foreign at this point we got rid of the head and started mapping out where we wanted the paths to go obviously we had a few rivers to cross so we decided on a mixture of dirt paths and boardwalks made out of the new bamboo blocks these new blocks fit so Perfectly with the jungle theme that as we were building it felt like they’d always been part of the game we were pretty much overworking on the terrain so jump ship and started making some structures starting with a ruined portable type build that would tuck neatly underneath the central tree we Tried to add a few places like this around the area as World building elements to try and create like a bit of a story it was all starting to come together but we still needed to add the Villager buildings we had planned we started with sharing a few reference pictures between Ourselves but pretty much instantly realized that we just wanted to place blocks and whatever happened happened and sure enough as soon as we started building they just flowed out of us the only requirements we gave ourselves was that they needed to be elevated above the ground to protect from insects and Flooding but other than that we just did whatever came to mind and I think they turned out pretty well now with our collection of houses made it was time to copy pasta them onto the Turin this part is always so satisfying seeing so much progress happening so quickly Foreign The build was pretty much done but we had imagined some tree houses wrapped around the central tree so we made a copy of it and started experimenting with some shapes this part was so much fun I love tree houses we decided to go for a circular design for the houses because it didn’t Feel right putting something boxy on this organic structure we started off using the same color palette as the rest of the structures but near the end we fell in love with the red colors from The Mangrove Woodson another copy Pastor to edit back in and that’s the build But that’s going to be it for the building thank you so much for watching I hope you enjoyed the video if you did maybe consider heading over to my channel I’ve got a bunch more videos that you might like this was super fun I love experimenting with the new blocks That they add to Minecraft but for now I’m just going to leave you with a little cinematic to show some of the builds up closer a little bit slower so you can see some of the details peace out Thank you Foreign Video Information
