Hello I’m ABX toy cat and this week Minecraft revealed 1.21 with a trailer which went into great depth about the trial Chambers the autoc crafter and the breeze but it didn’t go into depth about everything in the update like this new sugarcan feature or all of the new decorative blocks or indeed everything Else they’ve specifically answered since then and so here are the secrets of that 1.21 trailer mixed in with something else interesting we learned because looking into the developer account skins confirms this was actually recorded in September far earlier than we thought so let’s go into everything that we know About this update now that we didn’t before by the way on this channel I cover the latest and greatest in Minecraft Update news and subscribing is a great way to stay up to date with it 1.21 is personally the most exciting update I’ve seen in a very long time and So I’m very excited to be following along with that but there are three main sections we need to dive into one is everything we did see including in brief little Snippets here and there in the trailer the second are the things that weren’t directly shown in the trailer But were mentioned directly to creators in a Q&A they did seemingly before Minecraft live because that was revealed to them before but then also we have the things that were hinted at very heavily in the trailer and then finally there is the recap of what this actually means For the release schedule of the update because they have quite a bit to say about that in fact one of the most interesting quotes that was kind of overlooked because of all the new features was Lady Agnes saying this about the update schedule so for example we have some amazing developers working On tools for us to make our development process more efficient and more joyful this was one of the best pieces of news because it sounds like they’re trying to increase the fruit or the output of a given Minecraft update because right now people say that Mojang are lazy but they Ultimately don’t see all of the work that has to go into a given Minecraft feature but ultimately if you see 10 features in an update that took a year you can still say yeah something’s gone wrong there which is something Mojang are effectively saying themselves and they’re trying to increase the amount They can squeeze into a given update which sounds really good by itself and it’s important because the main feature they’ve revealed so far will take a lot of work the trial Chambers is not just a very interesting looking structure it’s also going to be one of the most most Varied in Minecraft so far I mean already in the first trailer you can see this giant hallway which is going to connect to the rest of the structure you can see other smaller hallways plus secret doors plus staircases plus rooms with the triail spawners plus different types of rooms with trial spawners plus There are going to be other trials in there but even more interesting is the fact that they specifically say this when asked about other rooms and also we just showed like a few of the rooms so I’m really looking forward to like when all of you get to explore the trial Chambers and find all the things with hi show there’s a room that I love so much and I can’t wait for everyone to like finally get to see it okay this structure sounds like it’s going to have some pretty Epic Proportions but obviously that means introducing a bunch Of new blocks so the trial spawner for example with it’s popping out diamonds and emeralds which is subject to change uh but also all of these new decorative blocks look around anywhere in the trailer and you’ll find something brand new the first set are the set of tough Bricks I cannot believe Mojang think there needs to be another set of dark bricks but they really do these one actually do look very very cool I have to admit the the geometric designs as they put them are very very nice I also think the new set of cover blocks are Nice this one seems to be from the April full snapshot but it’s a fun enough idea this one just seems to be a chisel copper block I like the design but it doesn’t do too much while the copper lap is the opposite it’s slowly loses its light as it gets more rusted meaning You’re going to need to go there for it an axe every now and then just to change things up this is actually going to be surprisingly useful in Redstone I can hear from Redstone people uh but to me it just seems like a very cool light source what’s also very interesting are The copper trap doors and the copper doors we saw both of these on the trailer and although the trap door seems as though it’s Redstone activated only based on this interaction with the breeze who shoots basically Redstone balls it seems um the Copper Door itself was actually activated by Agnes using Just an axe it’s possible this is an exclusive thing to the trial Chambers it’s possible there’s something weird going on here and it’s also possible there are brand new blocks and mechanics in the new Chambers in fact we can be fairly certain of that by the way I Mentioned the breeze I just need to mention he is a brand new Elemental he looks a suspiciously like the blaze but he’s a wind type right I don’t mind that as an idea I love the idea of Minecraft adding new Hostile Mobs that are in this mid-tier category we’ve had the warden But besides that what’s actually a new challenge you need to fight that we’ve had in the last very long time uh the answer is we haven’t really been updating the Hostile side of the game and if we’re looking at adding Elementals anyway maybe we should just Hashad the isolog anyway I mean uh it seems as though he was a pretty popular mob that one time around if you exclude certain subscribers anyway the important thing to say here is that there is a big bunch of mobs and stuff that we have seen already but there are also more Things we haven’t seen uh the final thing is that is kind of unlink to the entire Trail Chambers is the crafter that is the name for the autoc crafter system I feel like most people are going to call it the autoc crafter or the Redstone crafter for a while because Crafter feels a little too similar to crafting table so we’ll have to see about the final name for that but this has so many interesting properties that were revealed by Minecraft themselves one of these is the fact that you can Shain multiple types of them together so For example you could have one of these with free sticks and string in there to make a bow and then you could have that go into another one which has all of the Cobblestone and Redstone to automatically craft dispensers from scratch which is wild to be able to say But it will be possible because all of the ingredients for a bow are farmable sticks and string all of the ingredients for a dispenser otherwise are craftable and so you’ll now be able to have all of that stuff happen automatically if you really want to this feels like advanced Level Redstone stuff and indeed the whole rest of this update is very clearly themed as an advanced level update this is for players who have been playing for a very long time the late game players are really going to like this however the other things they hinted at and didn’t show quite so Strongly are not necessarily the same way because Minecraft live was actually not very much of a live show this year this is something I think a lot of people expect when it comes to the update Showcases of course they record those a few days in advance but it seems As though the 1.21 trailer was actually recorded in September not just a few days almost a full month because September 26th is when Cojo Max who is Corey one of the Minecraft developers who was featured in the trailer changed his skin nine separate times and if you Look through those skins they’re all of the ones that showed up in the trailer which makes a lot of sense because previously it seems as though all of these YouTubers or random people who show up actually would have had to have access to 1.21 and have seen the update Weeks before which is very very intriguing but yeah this YouTuber presumably just voiced the dialogue and then Cory used his account to show it off and indeed all of the other skins from this trailer a lot of people feel betrayed by this but the most interesting part to me is just how deep Of a for the Minecraft Community is willing to go on and also it’s interesting just how not live Minecraft live actually is but anyway there’s this really interesting section in live where you can see a YouTuber being uh spoken to by Lady Agnes and uh they say something very odd honestly it’s the Weirdest section of the trailer because she walks over to the sugarcane farm and then oh hi I hope so too there are two possibilities here since we know this is recorded on the Java Edition where you cannot bone meal sugarcane yet but you can on Bedrock either they are very Strongly hinting they’re going to bring this parity change because they’re always working on parity in the background or what I think is the potential second option I do have to say it’s funny if true they brought in a YouTuber just to say I would love to see Su Kane growing higher and then lady Agnes goes yeah me too and then they’re not going to do anything about it it would be the weirdest 5 Seconds of a pre-planned trailer they recorded many many weeks ago but again I want to say even I I don’t think we could be mad if This wasn’t true uh but I think it’s just so likely they’re hinting at sugarcane having higher Heights and so that is a fun little way to sneak that into the trailer in between much bigger sections about the autoc crafter which is obviously the bigger and much more exciting feature but something Interesting you might not know about it is that many Minecraft creators were briefed about the update before it was announced at Minecraft live and so they were able to do a Q&A about it before the update came out and then release it just afterwards and although this isn’t Released anywhere publicly I’ll be able to share some of the questions and answers just not any document or any names about where it actually came from but you’re going to have to trust me that this is actual answers from Minecraft so for example uh someone asked if you’d be able to chain multiple Crafters together to make complicated recipes and they said yes you certainly can I hinted that earlier but it is true also the crafter will not require any type of fuel mechanic and instead will craft and eject the result with each Redstone pulse that’s pretty fun by Itself but they also say that it’ll be able to craft anything that a crafting table can create to which is also quite handy they also specifically say that even things that you can shift craft and anything in involving durability all of the edge cases that you think shouldn’t Work are going to work in the crafter it is going to be fully powered that is something they are committing to and saying right now and so that’s something I I think all of these uh answers are very very exciting to hear confirmation on uh it makes sense that Minecraft just Want to wait for the snapshots but it’s also insane to hear that right now but what they also say are very exciting things about the trial Chambers so the trial spawners are a new variant of the spawners currently only found in the trial Chambers unlike normal spawners They only spawn a limited number of mobs the number of mobs it spawns and the amount that can be out at one time is adapted based on the number of players that have been detected by the trial spawners players can be detected within a specific radius if a player is Detected by the trial spawner the difficulty will scale will not reset until the triail chamber has been defeated so in other words you can make a trial spawner deliberately Harder by having more players come in and then immediately leave the server or get out of the radius because it will not later Downgrade it and kind of detect on that way one of the other things that’s crazy is they currently don’t have any limits on how many players can in engage with the tri spawners meaning that if there are 20 players then it will scale up to the amount of mobs that will spawn to Give a challenge to a group of 20 players however this could introduce some performance players so we might want to keep an eye out for any sort of upper limit we might need to set likewise too many mobs might not actually be overall fun and so we have To tweak out what feels both fair and also most importantly fun to answer your question though it should be encouraged for an entire server to play trial Chambers together but the beauty is it’s up to you you can enjoy alone or with a small group of friends or with an entire Realm of 10 players I don’t know how you can hear that and not immediately think I want to try one of these with 10 players seeing it with just two players in the trailer and seeing how many Strays spawned makes me think that it would be actually quite an interesting Challenge uh they do specifically say that they are exploring the idea of patterns for the spawning and the idea of working with difficulties uh but they do want to make sure it’s still an interesting challenge but yeah the trout spawner is going to scale up with as Many players as you can have on your server something I just need to play around with because I’m so so so curious something else that you might be curious about are the copper bulbs so the cup bulbs obviously have a light source attached but they’re going to be a Toggleable light source like the redstone lamp but unlike the redstone lamp there is a catch as Mojang puts it copper bulbs work very differently from Redstone lamps when placed down they are off by default instead of requiring constant Redstone power to be turned on they are turned on uh and then turned Off a redstone Source can be taken away and they will Contin continue to stay turned on afterwards another Redstone pulse can be given to turn it off it’s not in yet but we plan to introduce the ability for it to be read by a redstone comparator this introduces an incredibly Compact T flip-flop which we hope is an exciting new tool for our Redstone engineering players in the same way that Target blocks had widescale use that is crazy to say the T flip-flop thing is very it’s one of those ridiculous Redstone terms but in other words you’ll Now be able to read if a redstone pulse has gone through something just from this block because this block will display uh whether an odd or an even number of pulses has gone through it based on the fact that it will be on or off if it’s been toggled twice it’ll be Off if it’s been toggled three times it’ll be on etc etc that makes a big difference to Redstone players and honestly combined with a crafter is going to lead to some very very uh you know fun things in that Community but what they’re also going to be doing and Kind of one of the other things they kind of referen are how the trial Chambers are going to have lots of new structures but something you might think about immediately indeed someone did is are they going to relate to archaeology somehow a lot of of people do Archaeology like once and have no idea what a brush is or a sniffer and they say right now they are not related to archaeology however they do have many decorated pots in them so you can feel free to smash some pots in your trial chamber Journeys and given that we just Had the you know pots being able to store stuff inside of them I think we’re going to have a Legend of Zelda style feature where you’ll actually find fun and unique drops inside of your decorated pots which just sounds so cool I’m excited so the final thing I want to Share from this document is this interesting comment about how uh when you know like basically someone asked if they’re taking a similar approach to 1.20 with Minecraft live and only announcing features close to completion or whether this would be all of the features in the update and they say Specifically we’re taking a similar approach to last year’s tales and trails update and we’re excited to share more in 2024 in other words for the rest of this year you know the last few snapshots in this year expect to see uh you know in-depth versions of each of The features we’ve seen so far but there are more things they’re going to be sharing in 2024 including by the way the name of the update they’re looking forward to sharing that in 2024 too but before then in the rest of this year with the last 10 or so weeks remaining We are going to be seeing some snapshots because they do say that we should keep an eye out for updates from the team in this channel I’m not in this channel so I can’t tell you when those updates are going to be there but presumably it means even they aren’t quite sure if Maybe this week’s snapshots or next week’s snapshots or when the first big 1.21 snapshot is arriving but they are very excited for it and and honestly I am too I can’t wait to play around with this stuff a trial chamber sounds like a dream scenario for me I can’t wait to Find some in my Minecraft world by the way I think a lot of people don’t like the idea of these private Creator only channels and there’s a part of me that feels this too like oh yeah a lot of other people just get to learn about the Updates and then they have to they get to pretend to be surprised by it on their live streams when the thing happens uh whereas for me genuinely every time I learn about these things I’m actually very excited I think I learned about the caves and cliffs Update a few days early via the same means and honestly it just meant that the big reveal had a little bit less of an impact I do think it has like some you know competitive Advantage as a Creator you’d be silly not to take it But it also does feel a little bit weird to me too don’t worry I understand that uh my actual long-term stance on it is like well uh I understand why they need to give dates that they’re going to do announcements ahead of time I think that Is something that I you know really need to look into getting like I I really need to not be in a foreign country when a big snapshot or update comes out and so being able to plan my calendar around that it’s something that’ be handy uh but I do think like full-on Announcements of features probably aren’t actually going to help any creators unless they’re trying to just work out should we really not announce this is this some big mod we’re copying it you know if they’re trying to work out from creators if it’s a good idea or not then yeah but if they’re just Telling creators about things two or three days ahead of times it just creates this weird set of people who know and set of people who don’t and then it creates all sorts of weird leaks and situations where it’s just not fun for anyone ultimately but that’s just my Take and it’s not relevant to the video because what is relevant for this video is what is happening now the development process behind Minecraft updates seems to almost be deliberately confusing if you try to work out how long something’s been in development people will say yep that’s obviously wrong uh but it does Seem as though the process that most people see is these snapshots where things release week by week but the reason the first snapshot is always going to be bigger is because they’ve actually been working on 1.21 excluding the planning phase which has been in you happening for years now presumably They’ve been working on 1.21 since at least 1.20 finished obviously some developers are there to work on the bug fixes and the new features in 1.20 30 or 1.2.10 however the majority of their team and development resources have been focused on making 1.21 and honestly I think the what the reason we haven’t Been seeing snapshots of that is twofold one is because they obviously want to have a big announcement of the release and so that’s something that they got to do with Minecraft live but the second is it gives them an opportunity to not release things and instead do a lot of Play testing something that they specifically said they’ve been doing with the trail Chambers a bunch of times because this is the big headline feature of the update they want to make sure it’s fun imagine if trial Chambers come out and no one actually cares because they’re not exciting or they’re not Challenging that would be a big problem and so they get to do a bunch of different iterations of how trial Chambers could work and by having three months of Gap you can presumably then say yeah if this was terrible we could scrap it and start again they might have Had a bunch of ideas for trial chamber rooms which are either partially finished right now or just aren’t that exciting and so they’re working on making the better uh and the trailer is just a way to show this is something you should be excited for because is coming Soon but to answer the question of how long has this update been in development since somewhere in the junisha officially and usually they just say you know usually we can imply that means June sort of July period they want to get it out before the Big Summer Rush However this time they hinted a lot about Minecraft’s 15th anniversary and if you don’t know Minecraft the first released version of the public on the tick Source Forum was the 17th of May 2009 and so the 17th of May 20 24 as the 15th anniversary could be the perfect Opportunity to release this this would put them on a slightly tighter deadline for an update but realistically it’s 11 months versus 12 months update cycle is that too little I would say not and the other thing that’s important to note is that would be a Friday but will we be Seeing Minecraft release on the you know a 15th anniversary I think a new update would be a great way to get people hyped or at the very least they could do their pre-launch trailer say it’s coming out the Tuesday following I think that that is the time that you can expect Minecraft to be releasing this but I think a lot of people you know see Minecraft releases in the forms of snapshots and betas and those are the times that features are coming out air quotes even though it’s very much just development versions and those will be starting as soon as is reasonably Possible it could literally be tomorrow it could be Yesterday by the time you’re watching this video um there is a big mystery around this first snapshot and obviously it’s going to have the biggest collection of features is usually uh what we see from this and so that is one That I think we’ll have to keep our eyes peeled for personally it’s what I’m very excited for for um but yeah there is going to be a hopefully faster smoother development process it is going to contain a lot of updates to this one structure and ultimately this structure Can be the way for everything to be tied in together when they added the Woolen Mansion to the game the only real new features they added to it were new mobs and indeed one new item by adding new separate items and new decorative blocks that you can find here I think they’re Making one structure that can emblemized an entire update in the same way that caves and cliffs would have been very exciting if the two parts released together ever because you’d go into all of these new caves and find new blocks and items I think they’re going to be Doing that with the trial ruins that is definitely what they’re called by the way I’m je definitely not mixing it up with the 1.20 major structure although for what it’s worth Trails is a very similar word to trials which is why people are calling this the trials and Tiles update already which is a funny name but also kind of points out just one of the funny weird things of the English language you might not think about uh while designing updates also something you might not think about is this is one of the most exciting updates We’ve seen in a long time in my humble opinion because I think they are going for a real zelder Vibe with these trial uh you know with these ruins if you look through them then obviously you can see like okay well there’s mob spawning rooms we have to fight a monster there Are going to be challenges of some form there’s going to be pots you break to get stuff I think if they’re going for a true kind of dungeon craing experience in other words adding the Minecraft dungeons Vibe into regular Minecraft I think we are in for one of the best Updates we’ve ever seen obviously those are famous words the first impression of update can be entirely right or wrong if you hate the update right now it might be one of your favorites me loving this update it might turn out to be really missing a lot of fronts but so far two Thumbs up is my end review after seeing everything and these little secrets here and there I hope you enjoyed this video and I hope that you’re excited of the update too let me know your thoughts in the comments down below for now I’ve been ibx toy cat I hope you enjoy this Video and I’ll see you in the next one tomorrow and also check out my live streams I’m slowly trying to get back into that uh it’s been uh it’s daunting to me to just like speak to strangers for a couple of hours after uh the couple of weeks I’ve been having but I’m Going to be getting back into it and so come check one out maybe or don’t Goodbye Video Information
