Minecraft All The Mods 9 – #3 Building an EASY Farmhouse!

Foreign Hello my dudes and welcome back to what is episode 3 of our all the mods 9 playthrough you can see in the background our colony is doing pretty well got a builder’s Hut and we’ve got a town hall but this episode what we’re going to focus on is some of the more

Immediate concerns regarding our quality of life and what I’ve done is taking a look at all of the mods that all the mods 9 has to offer and earmarked a few that are going to be really important for us going forwards now you can also see in the background I’ve been breeding

My cows and sheep here and there so that we’ve got a few now but let’s jump in so I can show you exactly what we’re going to be gunning for this episode all right all right yeah so it’s a bit of like a step back the first two

Episodes are pretty kind of Hardcore I wanted to push the colony hard and get some buildings up but this episode what we’re going to do is we’re going to build our player house and we’re going to use mine colonies to do that using an interesting kind of method that I found

That I’ll show you guys about in a bit so what are we gonna do well number one I think what’s really handy in Minecraft is to make a to-do list now what I’ve kind of decided to do is make a pocket computer now I’ve never really used

Computer craft or CC tweaked because it is really complicated but I took a quick look into the mod and realized actually it’s a great way to make a to-do list because we don’t have a clipboard now I’m gonna need to First make a golden apple which I think I have a

Pocket computer using oh I guess Rock a golden apple and some glass easy so yeah computer craft is crazy it’s really technical but if you really do want a challenge of getting into something because there’s already so many amazing pre-generated programs for you to just run off the bat you don’t

Need to know how to code yourself because people on the internet have done it for you the golden apple a glass paint and Bam we have a pocket computer boom ready to hack into the Mainframe so you have your pocket computer in hand and oh it looks pretty snazzy it looks

Like kind of like a note board or a map that you can like wave around cats very intrigued by it aren’t you anyway if you right click you get this interface and this is where things get a bit complicated unless you kind of Google what you’re doing so I Googled a program

Online for computer craft tweaked and it came up with this here basically I’m pasting a program from the internet right now man is this the future and if I run this boom would you like to load a to-do list yeah well no we want to make a to-do

List right so one to nine and delete okay here we go a to-do list this is going to be amazing so we want to First up add the first item so we want to craft a backpack storage is going to be super important for us going on our first mining Expedition we’ve used

Sophisticated backpacks before I want to use a traveler’s backpack this time one craft traveler’s backpack amazing so two what are we gonna do now well we’re gonna have to have a place to store all of the stone and dirt and stuff that we dig up so we’re gonna make a dank well

Probably two or three to be honest so number two make a dank okay number three what’s on the list well we need something to dig with and we’re gonna try and make some silent gear tools down the line we’re gonna aim for a mining Gadget but a silent gear tool is going

To keep us going for the time being and then number four for this episode is we’re gonna build our house so build a house and I’ll show you guys exactly what we’re doing with that in a bit but we’re kind of going to Time Lapse it

So it’s going to come at the end oh my God it’s already night time but that’s going to be the end of the day so let’s get started Hey bibbity bibbity okay right so what are we doing number one craft a traveler’s backpack yeah so we’ve used sophisticated backpacks before they’re pretty cool but Travelers backpacks are a little bit different and they come with like tanks on the side you can do that with like a sophisticated backpack

But it’s a bit of a pain now these aren’t the easiest of things to make and not especially not like the first mining trip because you need gold and also a sleeping bag a chest and these tanks which are glass and iron so we’re gonna have to go and get some iron

And gold okay so we can skip step one the Traveler’s backpack will come in a sec number two is make a dank all right so danks are basically big old places to store lots and lots of one thing now coal is something we have

A barrel is easy to make so I want to make a couple of these to store things like gravel maybe Stone Cobblestone and maybe dirt as well we kind of want to save these because Builders from uh from mine colonies use this stuff all the time so it’s useful to keep especially

Early on coal and Barrel let’s go and make those So three of these and we’ll make three dank nulls it’s pretty expensive on the coal but these things are going to be really handy So press o to change the pickup mode and I to change use type current use type bang don’t know what that means but let’s find out so pick up all filtered pickup and void pickup right so if you don’t want to store what you’re picking up you can set

The void and it’ll just trash it that’s good to know but we’re gonna say filtered pickup now you can put what you want to pick up up here in the top so does this work Granite dirt gravel and cobblestone and let’s go digging so in theory this

Should make all the Cobblestone go into our dank well they’re not on my inventory are they in the Dank oh I can’t oh yeah here we go so we’ve got four cobblestone in here anyway there we go we’ve got inventory space and we got a dank so what next

Well torches of course vital let’s make some of those boom 32 well ideally I want like a million but this little this will do now we also want a silent gear tool but all we can really afford to make right now is a cobblestone pickaxe and is it

Worth making a silent gear Cobblestone pickaxe well I’m gonna say yes because what we can do is we can use all of the Cobblestone we’re getting from the Dank to repair it instead of carrying around like a million stone pickaxes because we need that space for stuff so let’s do it

And yeah I’m sure you guys have used silent tools a million times before but if you haven’t it all works off templates we’re going to need some template boards to start with that’s just flint and logs no sweat and you get quite a few from doing this yes six so

We’re not gonna need too many maybe two boom 12 template boards and there we go a crude stone pickaxe with a durability of one three one we also need now a repair kit and we’re gonna go for like a basic one because we can’t really afford anything else

Actually no that’s not true we could use our last iron ingot to make a crude repair kit rather than a very crude so that’s what we’re gonna do ironing got stick and temporary boards and then we’re going to load this up with stone and that should be what we’re doing

Okay so a brand new day we’ve got the Dank we’ve got a repair kit we’ve got our really crummy pickaxe that’ll do until we get some iron let’s go and grab some material so we can make a traveler’s backpack oh now I’ve got this big kind of Chasm

Down here now the reason why we didn’t make a silent tools Hammer is because we kind of have ultimind with the mod pack okay yeah that’s not too bad look how much durability that wasted oh but we found iron now when it breaks you just put it in

Here with the repair kit bam and it didn’t actually take up too much of the Cobble so this is going pretty well so far oh yeah and already we got some iron that’s lovely stuff keep it going and the Cobblestone is going into the Dank amazing so let’s just keep going

Now I really do love the ultimind function and it’s going to come in really handy if you’re just Gathering all of the oars that we’re gonna need so the things we’re gunning for are just basically the Minecraft classic so you want some gold we want some iron we want

Some diamonds if we’re lucky but we’ll also take some of the weirder things in the mod pack that we might be using later but what’s essential for a traveler’s backpack well let’s get it up on the left there oh one thing you need to be careful of is when you’re using ultimine

Your hunger goes right down I’m actually gonna have to do a bit more digging because we’re really going for um a level low enough for us to find gold but what’s amazing is that we’re actually finding loads and loads of iron doing this I can’t believe I never found

Any iron until bam I’m looking for gold and then there’s all the iron it’s like the classic Minecraft thing right now I mean it doesn’t last very long at all it’s not the most efficient use of my time but this kind of mining is a really great way to get iron especially

Early on in the game I mean we literally just started this series this is episode three I haven’t been played for like about an hour or two but getting these Essentials really is the gateway to bigger Bolder things like getting enough iron is essential we’re currently on 24 I think 18 is like

A good place to go there’s like an infographic which I’ll probably get up on screen right now that shows you the best levels to find all the ores but mod packs can sometimes change that do be careful and okay according to this chart minus 16 is the level to go for man I

Keep forgetting what Minecraft changes in between different kind of versions and I totally forgot that now you can get down to like minus 64. crazy deep but I love it back in business now I do hear a skeleton so I’ve got to be on my toes what’s going on here

Just get rid of some of this chaff oh oh no oh hello oh my God this is bad okay emergency eat the food make a little hole oh my God make a base get the Cobble sign out defend yourself oh my God I’m gonna die

Is not good not good not good at all okay first up deal with the immediate threats these zombies no sweat actually you know this is I can handle this this isn’t too bad I don’t know where I am I’m in a dangerous part of the world but we got

This what’s gonna oh no okay so oh and a skeleton Oh I knew that was gonna happen oh man okay let’s get back to our grave ah so one of the Perils of ultimine uh yeah don’t do what I did oh my God luckily enough though with this key we’ve got like ultra bright light so we can see

Where we went wrong and see how to build our way back up oh man what a ball like but you know what it is in Minecraft if you don’t die on your first mining Expedition you know so we’re gonna grab our stuff run around put down some torches and then try and

Defend ourselves let’s do it boom okay torches where are they here we go and Bonk Bonk oh my God a Chasm as well we really hit the motherload down here cool stuff another pickaxe will do for now it’s not the greatest tool but you know we can kill people with it just

Keep on our toes oh there we go oh man spiders what now let’s quickly loot these chests because there could be some real cool stuff in here to help us going forwards now a blast furnace is going to be real Handy what’s this our chainmail excellent just a ticket

We’ll take the coal as well and the gunpowder now what’s inside this Barrel oh rails very nice very fancy I mean a bag of seeds why not we’ll take that too it could be valuable the bed might come in handy later or an anvil yes please okay now when you’re going mining like

This potions of night vision are actually a really good idea I mean they’re way out of our scope for the moment so if there’s some kind of like trinket you can find that helps you with that that’ll come in handy what level are we at minus and they’re at y16 okay yeah

Basically zero now this isn’t strictly a mining operation we’re just here to get the basics that we need to go forward to it so let’s see if we can grab some gold and get the hell out of Dodge wait we need an iron pickaxe for gold well okay we’ve got the blast furnace

That should be okay in fact I guess that’s what this Camp is for it’s like a halfway home when you’re out and about doing your mining for you to set up like a temporary Camp to go forwards with so boom we’re gonna cook up some iron

So there we go in iron pickaxe amazing now I see a lot of gold around here so we’re not going to have many problems bam there’s some gold now do I need an iron sword you know what I think I probably do and let’s be quick because he’s on his way

Oh yeah much better okay now we can do what we’re doing right so we’re on the hunt for gold where are we gonna find that bad boy boom down here yep got an iron sword but you’re asleep bam and there’s the gold there’s the good stuff

Let’s keep looking now the one danger of a Chasm is falling creepers those suckers can drop from pretty high up so you’ve got to watch out for that oh man this is pretty good though we’re getting loads and loads of iron and you can tell which ones are the iron

Because they’re way more emissive did I just hear a creeper yeah there he is okay so pretty successful mining trip let’s just empty our pack and uh take a look at what we got oh yeah so I can throw away a lot of this stuff most of it is junk but we’ve

Got some pretty valuable stuff loads of lapis or in the chemistry World audiominium silicon calcium what’s her name is that sodium I don’t know I didn’t really study chemistry but we got a whole bunch of stuff pretty cool and a blast furnace to cook it in now

Ideally we want to be doubling our ores in a perfect world but for now we’re just going to focus on just getting the ingots that we have because iron is pretty common anyway it is a big shame though because it would be really nice to double these golden guts

But let’s get cooking these up we’ve got loads of cold from that expedition so we can replace our wood with that we’re gonna use the blast furnace for the iron because we’ve got truck tons of it and we’ll put the gold in the regular furnace because none of these are going

To double the the oars but you know what we’ll come back to that later so next step is to build our house now what I did is in a creative world I designed a pretty cool house I stored it as a template a schematic and now I imported that into

Mine colonies so my Builder can build it and I’m going to do a video that shows you guys exactly how to build your own cool house and creative put it into a schematic and then teach a builder so you can give them materials and he’ll build it himself

I think it’s a really cool way that lets you be a little bit creative in Creative but then come over to a world and build it legit without the hassle of having to like build scaffolding and stuff because that stuff gets really tricky building a peaked roof without scaffolding or you

Know falling off and dying is just a real pain so why not have your Builder do it for you ain’t that right Fester yeah so where is my build tool unless you see how this works Now first things first we’re going to find a cool place to put our house now I’m not really quite sure about where we’re gonna go and let’s get that ugly Waypoint off the map first thank you there we go did we die no I can’t see anything here

Uh one cool thing about Journey map as well is that it lets you see where exactly your Colony can spread to and you know what that’s not actually that far but with a few tactical placements of a guard Tower or two we can definitely get to the coast pretty

Easily and eventually we’re gonna kind of conquer this entire Island I think I hope maybe but for now where are we gonna put our house oh I don’t know this is the big decisions aren’t they no I was kind of thinking up there because you get a good

View of the colony from that hill but also up here looks pretty cool too I want to be near to the Builder’s Hut because that’s going to make it easier for him to build but also that kind of feels like I want to be in the heart of the colony at my house

Now what we’re also building is going to be a farmhouse so I’m thinking this area over here of flat land is going to be a great place for us to start our first level one rudimentary Farm so let’s prep this if I right click on the ground go to switch pack and then

Down here you should find where is it there we go skin this is your local structure pack this is where all your scans go now scans Farm hacks amazing it worked it’s in here and here we go so this is basically the schematic for something I built in

Creative I didn’t spend like an amazing amount of time on it and there’s no furniture or anything because I want to add those finishing touches myself in game but it is quite difficult to see as well so we’re going to go into spectator mode just so you guys can get a better look

At the house I’ve kind of designed now this is quick and dirty there’s some things I missed out here like there’s a missing post up here didn’t want to spend too long on it because I was just really just chomping at the bits to get my house built and in game

So there we go that’s what it looks like now we’re going to want to slot this down oh let’s just land and go back to normal mode so there we go now it’s got like a basement level so we’re gonna have to be careful where we put this we’re also

Gonna have to clear up that lava over there otherwise Festa is going to roast himself to pieces but I’ll explain what I mean about that when I do my video that shows you guys how to make your own templates and put them into mine colonies because it is

Really cool to be able to design your own building and have a builder make it it’s really amazing also you can even copy and paste schematics from places like Planet Minecraft and have your Builder build massive castles but do remember that you’re gonna need to give the Builder every single block that’s in

That build and some of those guys are pretty creative in what they use to build something so yeah well okey dokey let’s find our way to the red block down here and then pull the trigger so let’s see can I get access yeah it’s in the middle of nowhere so let’s just

Get down here right click press Tick boom there we go and here’s the materials which you’ve already looked at boom build building decoration request created for my Colony let’s go and grab the build tool give him all of the things he needs in here which is basically just Cobblestone

Spruce from this Forest over here no sweat some Oaks some trap doors and the most exotic thing I think is coarse dirt nothing crazy I didn’t even put flowers in because I didn’t want to have to go and grab them myself yeah here we go here’s the list of things we need Oak

Fence oak doors spruce stone brick so we’ll have to cook some Stone as well but luckily enough we got loads of furnaces over here couple more won’t hurt though okay I’m gonna skip the night load him up with materials and let’s take a look at this build in action

So like I said adding your own structures into mine Connolly so that the builders within the system can build it themselves is actually really cool and really easy you can download schematics from anywhere you find online paste it into a game use the mine Connolly’s tool to mark it as a

Structure and then have a builder build it I’m gonna do a guide video though that shows you exactly how you do it if you’re interested because once you learn how to do that it’s only a few extra steps to make your own mind colonies theme although that is

A massive undertaking so do brace yourself if you want to do that because thinking about it you’ll need five levels five different builds for every single building in the game and there’s a lot but also when you do go and make your own builds in creative mode to have your

Builder built here do remember that you’re going to want to focus on easy to get materials or at least materials that you have access to and also if you’ve watched this far into the video I want you to put whatever this building is or what I labeled it as into the comments section

You might have to scroll back in the video to look at what I named it as but yeah if you put a comment in that shows me what the building is named I’ll heart and like the comments Well all right all right so it’s nice and high up on a hill which is always where I like to build my buildings so I have a vantage point to see over my entire base but it’s also very close to the center of the colony which means once we expand

This we can use the Builder to build even more of the cool bigger things that we have planned the more I think about it the more I realize the most powerful thing about mine colonies is the Builder but yeah check it out it’s very Bare Bones and decorations wise there’s not

Much going on but that was all to make the build easier to handle the more complex materials you use in your build the harder it’s going to be to build so do be careful with that now as we come down to the basement I’m not quite sure what we’re going to do

Here originally I thought I was going to stack these walls with uh chests and use a rudimentary storage system something like sophisticated storage or refined storage we’ll have to see later down the line so over here we’ve kind of got like a weird blacksmith Forge I built this

Because I thought it would look kind of cool but we’ll probably have like armor and weapon construction down here as well maybe but also it’s got room for stairs to go down even further so this whole thing can be like a massive multi-story house where different levels do different things

Also in the corner here is a spot for an elevator that we might do later on to make traversing this a bit quicker and on the top floor we’ve got very simple setup where I can put my bed and just some basics for me to live in but
