Minecraft – “Better Than Wolves” Mod Spotlight

Hello and welcome to the Yogscast today we are looking at a mod the better than wolves mod that’s what it’s called I think it’s sort of a little nudge at knotch I mean not just just added pretty much trivial stuff recently so this guy has totally overhauled the whole game of it

Hibachi eventually grills I don’t know what that means also hibachi well they’re kind of this it’s a Japanese word that it’s like a flame grill so these these things are like see they’re like netherrack on a spit of stone and you trigger them with redstone so I’ve just basically put

Redstone onto the floor there to trigger them all right okay never coal what yeah well this is just where you combine coal and netherrack and it basically doubles the duration of the coal when you use it for cooking so it’s just that just a fun thing but it’s quite a nice used for

Nether and I know the rain doesn’t really have any use so there’s not really any point in bringing it back from the well actually that’s not true it does have a use now it’s the only thing that’s permanently on fire cause you can’t have would permanently on fire anymore can you

So yeah the other thing in this mod it’s not really very nice to wool Rolle wolf chops it kill wolves oh um you get I walk like a wolf chop it’s just like a pork chop I think it heals the same it’s there lots of Auntie wolf

Pistons to push the entire lot off you see at once right like automate the harvesting yeah so you just press one button on the wall when you’ll be able to push all of it off but I haven’t measure said that because this mod doesn’t actually have Pistons as part of

It I did actually manage to burn this house down quite a few times that’s why it’s looking so patchy and bringing the companion wolf with me that’s all okay bless so where to next the windmill that we’re male so this is the one the biggest most striking parts

Of the mod it’s basically mechanical power now this is a grinding stone here millstone well and it’s lightly fighting a real women so I’m putting some wheat in there cuz that’s what you do in a real windmill and you obviously makes flour does it make one our ad yes it does

Thing you need to use quite a lot of fabric to make the weather vane and also bits of wood it’s quite difficult to make initially hordes it looks like it’s difficult and this is a gearbox here and these are axles so these are all these will need to be plugged in correctly you

Can’t have more than three axles in a row graphs the gearbox will break and also all right that you can tell it’s pouts it’s making this clunking noise but also it’s got this smoke coming off it so you know you’ve done it properly yeah the problem

With windmills is that if it starts like the raishin isn’t it was a thunderstorm it will actually break the xor so you have to go up there and repair it which is why I’ve got that bit of wood and that ladder every time well every time

It rains it just break yeah it’ll be axle break so you have to go up and change the axle over which isn’t too much for hassle so the other thing you can do is you can grind up leather in the millstone and that will make you like scoured leather and then you can

Like you know cuz the way bread is made in this game is a bit weird it’s like three wheat and that’s quite inefficient yet once I eat bread but one wheat equals one flour so if you mill the wheat into flour you get three times more bread out basically

Oh but it also makes bread a bit more kind of accessible but you can’t stack bread opposite it stack so that’s quite annoying yeah but however what you can do instead of cooking it one by one in the furnace is you can stick a load of

Flour in the cauldron ok and what this will do is this will make something different it will make just boiling it yeah it’s boiling the flat dumplings dumplings close simply close does it make doughnuts doughnuts Wow and doughnuts of a stack so they’re in fact they’re more efficient use of your

Inventory space so you can actually carry a big stack of doughnuts around instead of lying lots of loaves of bread so it’s more but of course you have to make a cold room and you have to have the grill thing underneath the caldron so there’s extra effort to go to you

Know it’s a lot easier you can just shovel the flour in there pull the Vietminh just produce loaded doughnuts for you it’s quite effective so what else I got to show in this mod oh these things are the big water wheels now these are better than windmills because they don’t break ever however

Table no it’s cool so what you did you can cut upward what if he’s panels what if you put the companion below I don’t know about that so I’m gonna do that very nice thing to do is it so these are wooden panels okay so you can get panels and obviously

These are for decoration or for other purposes but you can cut them up even further and make them into a molding okay so that can be used for decorative mix realistically looking furniture and stuff if you can use smaller blocks and so these are obviously more you can cut

These even smaller and you get these little coronary bits oh my god which you can like use for decoration or wherever oh that’s good so yeah these are quite handy to have and they add to the aesthetic a lot so yeah that’s them you can I think up various other kinds

Of stuff but these are the cement buckets so then we just show these cement so basically the cement pocket is a good way of spreading like stone so I’m gonna have to go somewhere to actually use these without pouring cement all over my stuff so I’m going to

Actually have to go outside so yeah this mod is just amazing isn’t it you blown away by it so far I hope we can try and get it my animals I am itch that’s so kind of detailed and complicated it might take a little while to yeah get it compatible and if that’s

Maybe okay but let me just show you how this works first sorry London so this is a lot of gear boxes just hooked up to the water wheel because you have to push you can’t build a gearbox right next to a gearbox to move it over one tile it’s been painting

The arse so I had to do this little kind of elaborate labyrinth but I basically got one switch hooked up to the pulley that’s why only then as roaming it okay and it’s got power by the same stuff and this actually registered hooked up to the other gearbox so that will cut the

Power so when you cut the power the thing to say see when you power it up it lifts and the brake just basically just stops the whole system so it fixed in place now god I had no idea you was this clever what I’m not this clever I don’t

Know what the hell I’m doing with this mod but there’s also thing called it detects a block now this is a completely bonkers block that you need to use to stop it at specific level so when it reaches like so when you walk in front of it it triggers redstone

Oh my okay good also pick up other stuff being thrown in front of it do you see whoa isn’t that amazing so amazed amazing it’s like a sensor that will sense stuff so for example you know when we were shooting arrows at the target in yeah

Shadow visit Phil and I was hoping he might open up some hole in the ground yeah Kuh – the hole in foil using this you could actually use it using this this this detector so as you fire an arrow and look it triggers it oh my god and it

Stays trigger because it’s in the way so whoa so people have used these advanced detector blocks to basically stop the thing at certain levels or you know enable you to – I mean the problem at the moment is if you went up on the platform there would be no way for you

To stop it anyway just squash you on the ceiling so having like a little up there like Emilio estévez in Mission Impossible yeah stop anyway I’ve decided I’m going to go down on my terrifying elevator of darkness and the reason it’s dark is because I’ve not made this shaft

Wanted to get only creeper powder one of these filters will filter out powder only one of them will filter out right single stack items only so imagine you were like farming animals and you wanted leather but you didn’t want pork chops you could put like one of these in and

It would filter out all the sink all right and you just get less leather and stackable items oh my god so that’s all very very clever it’s like a filtration system to obviously change the graphic as well which is pretty cool on the top

Which I made earlier you have to come back up with dung and it like turns it into belts and stuff and which you need for like making certain things pulley oh yeah hmm yeah various various bits and bobs needs tanned so you do actually need a wolf to build some of the things

This mod yeah but there’s all sorts of things you can customize you can customize the colors of those windmill sails by tap by dyeing them so you could have some wool colors here what do you think is beautiful isn’t it I just set this up quite nicely the
