Cow do you see these bubbles in my face do you see these bubbles do you see these bubbles no you don’t no you don’t die hey guys ant i’m here and welcome back to another minecraft video and today i’m gonna be ending off the three part series to the whole 1.9 beta pre-release Um alpha omega uh part five i guess whatever you want to call it i’m just going to call it 1.9.5 i guess you could say as i addressed in the last video i’m very annoyed with how the naming scheme is right now but anyways today i’m going to Be showing you guys potion making and brewing now i’m sure a lot of you know what this is but for those of you that don’t essentially what it is is as you can see in my inventory here i have these sort of like water bottles that look like little like potion bottles i Guess you could say and that’s exactly what they are and essentially you can make potions that have various different effects on you like healing potions fire resistance regeneration strength swiftness which is just like a speed potion and then a bunch of negative potions as well which is more or less For use against like mobs and stuff like that but anyways um i’m going to go ahead i’m going to get into it here so essentially what you need in order to start potion making is you need a brewing stand and then you need some glass bottles now let me go ahead and Let me open up too many items here and give myself some glass just to show you guys how to do this so what so to start you want to make yourself a glass bottle or two they actually come in sets of three and they do come in a set sets of Three for a reason so i’ll show you guys that here and then as well you’re gonna you’re gonna need yourself a brewing stand and all you have to do is you need to take cobblestone in this fashion and then a blaze rod that you can get from a blaze In the nether uh so don’t put it into a crafting bench just keep it a blaze rod and you get yourself a brewing stand now i’m not gonna make one because i already have a couple of them here so the next step that you need to do is Just take any of your glass bottles that you make and you can either do one of two things with them you can fill them up within a cauldron which is made just by adding a bunch of iron blocks around the border of our crafting bench except for The top middle block so like and it would look like a tall minecart almost i just i’m too lazy to make it right now but anyways so you can do that and then you can fill this thing up with water and you can take water from it or the More practical use is you can actually just put an infinite water spring wherever your brewing stand is and it’ll just make it much easier because you can take one of these uh glass bottles and put them into you can fill them up with an infinite water source and the Infinite water source naturally will just refill up so but for the sake of example i’m not going to do that here in this video plus i mean this room doesn’t really fit in infinite water spring so yeah as well if you guys uh want the updated download to this peaceful map be Sure to check the link in the video description because i’m going to include it there with this being the end of the whole three part series as i said at the beginning of the first one i would provide this map uh the updated version of this map for download so that’s Exactly what i’m going to do anyways moving on here so to start potion making as soon as you have all of those required items just go ahead and right click on the the brewing stand that you’ve placed down on the ground and you’re gonna get a menu that looks just Like this you’re gonna notice that there are three spots on the bottom four water bottles and then there is a spot on top which is going to allow for a reagent and what the reagents are is as you can see in my inventory i have a whole bunch Of different items here let me try and split them up so you guys can like so it doesn’t look as confusing i guess there we go so you see i have sets of items on the bottom here and i have a set of items on the top so when you place your Water bottle in and like i said you can place up to three at a time which is probably for the best because it does take quite a while to brew whatever it is you’re brewing uh you’re gonna need to start with what’s called a base so this is Basically just step one of whatever potion you wanna make so the the key rule to making potions in minecraft is if you want to make a positive effect potion like heal like any of the ones i listed before healing fire resistance regeneration strength or swiftness you Want to start with a netherwart or you can also make a poison potion with this as well you want to start with a nether water on top and it’ll start brewing as you can see it’ll brew into the water bottles but i’m not going to do that yet And if you want to make a negative effect potion you want to use either a fermented spider eye redstone or glowstone dust as your base because these ones they won’t make anything interesting at all unless you’re trying to make a potion that is going to damage damage other mobs and I’ll be getting into the whole negative potions here in just a second but like i said you want to start off with uh you want to start off with another word if you’re going to if you’re looking to make a positive potion and i’ll go ahead And i’ll make three of them here so i can show you three of the five that uh that it actually does so yeah all right and there we go so as you can see now the netherward has just finished up and we have three awkward potions so these are basically just Potions that they have they still have no effects right now you could drink them and they wouldn’t do anything but from this point at least what i would do personally is take out two of the awkward potions unless you’re looking to make three of the same potion which Honestly is not that bad of an idea if you’re looking to make something like healing potions but essentially what you need to do from this point is you need to start off with one of these items that are on the top here either glistering melon magma cream gas tier blaze powder or sugar Don’t use the spider eye because that’ll just convert whatever positive potion you’ve made into a negative potion but anyways uh so if you want to make a healing potion for example you need to make you need to take a glistening melon or glycerin melon my bad and then put it Into uh put it into the top part of the brewing stand here with the awkward potion on the bottom and it’s gonna start brewing here and in just a second we’re gonna have ourselves a healing potion all right and there we go so the glistering melon is finishing up and now You can see we have ourselves an instant health potion and this is going to restore it’s going to restore our health for three points per potion but i’m gonna take it to the next step here so this is where brewing kind of got me like confused you know with the Whole effects that you can put on these but essentially what you need to think about at this point is with whatever potion you make it doesn’t matter um i think there may be some potions that don’t take the effect effect of glowstone but whenever you add either Glowstone or redstone into one of your positive potions it will either increase the time of the effect or it will increase the severity of the effect so if i put glowstone dust into the healing potion here it’s going to create like i guess you could call it like a greater Healing potion it’ll make a potion that can heal much more than a regular standard healing potion and uh as well if i i’m gonna take that out here if you put in redstone as well okay so you can’t do this with a healing potion but with various other potions like the Swiftness potion you can uh it’ll increase the amount of time that the effect lasts for so i suppose that anything that has an instant effect won’t you know be affected by this so yeah i’m not really sure if this would happen with a potion of strength So let me go ahead and let me make a potion of strength here uh actually first though i’m going to let this complete and i’m going to go ahead i’m going to use this so you guys can see what i mean okay so as you can see here having used The glowstone dust with a potion of healing you can now see that it says instant health 2. and i’ll go ahead and i’ll take it from my inventory here so as you can see um in between the cut i brought my hunger down nothing and brought my health all The way down to this so if i go ahead and i drink this here it’ll bring me from half a heart all the way to what it looks like six and a half hearts but i’m gonna go ahead and i’m gonna set my hunger too full here so it doesn’t go killing me Uh yeah so it does look like it’ll restore six of your hearts rather than three so it doubles the effect so anyways um at this point all what i’m gonna be doing is i’m gonna be showing you guys just different potions that you can make so already you guys have Learned the basics of how potion making works uh the only thing that you really need to know is what these different things up here do so if you use glyph glycerine melons like i said it’ll uh allow you to make a healing potion the magma cream Which can be made by using i believe it is the blaze powder and a a slime ball you can get the magma cream and this will give you fire resistance which is quite appropriate i would say the gas tier will give you a potion of regeneration it’ll restore your health Over time and the default potion will last for 45 seconds the blaze powder alone will give you a potion of strength and it’ll add one and a half hearts of damage to all of your all of your attacks with or without weapons uh the sugar will give you a swiftness potion Which will increase your movement over time and then the spider eye will give you a potion of poison which will poison whatever it hits for a given amount of time and reduce the health to all the way down to half a heart so anyways moving on here what i’m Gonna be showing you guys next is what uh the what the gunpowder is for because this is really the last effect that i need to show you guys as far as potion making goes so what i’m going to be doing here is uh let’s just see here uh All right let’s go ahead and let’s add a spider eye into the mix here and it’s going to make it’s going to make ourselves a poison a potion of poison so i’ll wait for that here to brew up all right there we go so now that that’s Finishing up as you can see here we have a a potion of poison i almost want to say poison of potion because it sort of seems like it wants to flow off the tongue that way but anyway so we have a poison potion here that will last for 45 Seconds and with any potion absolutely any potion if you add a gunpowder to it it’ll turn it into a throwing potion so this can be really useful like if you uh if you’re on like a multiplayer server or something like that and you want to use one potion to give two people an Effect i’m not sure if that works with healing potions or even at all like if if that if this doesn’t work that way be be sure to correct me but as far as i know when you throw a potion down um what if you’re standing within the area Effect then you will be affected by it so i’m gonna try and throw this in the same area as another mob along with myself to see if it will uh it’ll do that so as you can see here it creates a splash potion of poison and it’ll last for 33 seconds So let’s go ahead and let’s try and find ourselves a mob out here or something or actually what i can do let me just go ahead and let me spawn a cow oh wait why didn’t you spawn okay i was like what the heck alrighty then all right so let’s see here I am suicidal cow i am willing to kill myself and kill you at the same time all right let’s see here yep see yup as you can see i have the effect and the cow has the effect so wherever you throw the potion down um i don’t think i Can actually stop myself from getting hurt here it’s just going to naturally last for the next 20 seconds let me go ahead and let me turn the sound down here so wherever you end up throwing the potion uh whatever is within the area effect will have an effect on that Potion so this can be extremely useful like i said in a in like a a multiplayer scenario with potions of healing fire resistance regeneration anything like if your entire team needs you know a whole bunch of health then this would be a great way to go about doing that by Making throwing potions so anyways uh before i go ending off here i want to show you guys one more thing and i need to scroll down my page here so i’m going to show you guys some of the negative potions uh which like i said don’t Really do a whole lot there’s only two kinds of negative potions and you guys just saw one of them the other one is called a weakness potion which all melee and damage dealt by the user is uh cut in half so like i said it doesn’t really Do a whole lot like it’s not really useful there’s no real point to making any such thing but if you go ahead and you take a water bottle here and then like i said you place any of the other things that you had in here so red uh you can use redstone Or the fermented spider eyes and you’ll give yourself a negative effect potion or at least you’re going to start with a base potion of the i believe with the fermented spider eye you’re going to get a either a thick no you’re i’m not sure which potion you’re going to get here But uh we’ll find out here in just a second so as you can see here after adding the fermented spider eye to the water bottle we get a potion of weakness directly like i said it does seem kind of useless because you know like the effect doesn’t really have that big of An effect on mobs unless it’s like a zombie or something but then again it shouldn’t be that hard to melee zombies anyways but i i think i’m getting off track here but if you go ahead and add anything like redstone spider eyes glistering melons blaze powders or Glowstone dust to directly to a water bottle you’re gonna get one of two uh negative effect base potions which is either gonna be a mundane potion or thick potion so those like i said they can make one of the two negative potions which is a potion of weakness or a Potion of poison and as you can see i already have a potion of weakness on me which doesn’t really do a whole lot i’m i think the most interesting effect that’s gonna come out of this is that i’m going to get bubbles oh my god i’m Blowing bubbles oh my god oh my god i’m blowing bubbles i’m blowing bubbles i’m i’m i’m not blowing bubbles anymore oh my god do you see these bubbles apparently that’s a glitch that you can’t see bubbles uh when you’re looking in front of you that’s something that Jeff should look into not really a major effect but anyways guys that’s pretty much everything that i wanted to go ahead and show you guys as far as potion making goes today and that’s pretty much all there is to potion making uh if you guys are confused at any of the Information or any you know any of the ingredients that is required in order to make a specific potion uh there’s always the minecraft wiki i would highly recommend checking that out the link is going to be in the description below but anyways guys hope you guys have enjoyed this particular video particular my Favorite word apparently uh a lot of people have been pointing that one out lately that i say that word a lot anyways like i said i hope you all have enjoyed this video my name is ant venom and i bid you all farewell and if you want to download the updated version of This map the link is going to be in the description and thanks so much for
