How does it go ladies and Bros my name is Mojo and welcome to another Minecraft build I got a request some time ago to actually talk about building uh things under water and what I wanted to do was kind of uh build a basic kind of a staging base a staging point for Building larger structures underwater and I wanted to kind of show you guys the design concept that I have for setting up kind of a a base underwater for to build larger structures so this is kind of the staging point now the Intriguing thing about this particular base is it’s it’s relatively Uh relatively small but it’s giving you a large amount of space based on the way you place your block so you can see I’ve got I’ve got six double chests down here so say those are full of Cobble or whatever other building material I plan on using Down here and then I’ve got four furnaces in the floor followed by two crafting tables on opposite corners and then two pieces of glowstone on opposite Corners now if you don’t have glowstone uh this early in your survival map but you want to build underwater you can always use Torches and just place them around the edges and I’m also got a bed down here but what I’m doing is you know most of the time when you build on the surface you’re building with very small entrances most of the time the doors are a one by two space and here we since We’re going to be moving back and forth in and out of underwater what we want to do is we really want I’m going to light this up a little bit while I’m down here we really want to be able uh to get in and maneuver quickly especially if we’re In a position where we’re going to basically run out of air so when I’m done doing some work outside I can run into this larger entrance and make my way in so hopefully I can push this guy out they always come in here and then they suffocate and they it makes me Sadness get out there buddy there you go there you go and he’ll be back in about five seconds um so these larger doors actually help actually being able to maneuver like let’s say you’re on your last little sliver of breath you can slide into this larger opening better than you could Trying to get to that one little spot and and work your way in and I’m just using ladders on each side so these are two Wide Doors three tall now the other piece of this is that up on the ceiling what I’ve done is I’ve made a quick Entry as well so you can very easily fall in just from the top you don’t have to do much effort use much effort to actually get back in to the base that way so the basic idea here is that this gives me a staging point for larger underwater operations like let’s say I’m Building a giant Fort or a huge underwater base this small base very easy on resources you don’t really have to use glass I like being able to see around me so I place a lot of glass but you can just use basically solid blocks But I want to show you the core of this design all right guys so let’s uh let’s do the build so we’re going to be working in evens here and I use usually work in odds uh when I’m building on the surface but we’re going to do evens Because we want the larger doors so I’m going to place I’m going to go up four tall on the first door frame there we go and then I’m going to come out one on each side on each side and I’m going to leave this space open for some glass matter of fact We’ll go ahead and put glass on there and what I want to do just so we can see this I’m going to place a couple more uh pieces of Glowstone I’ll probably delete them as we build then I’m going to place some ladders in here and the reason why I want to try to get it get do this first obviously I’m building in Creative but if I were building this in survival I would want to have quick air pockets so that I don’t have to constantly travel up now by placing the ladders really really quickly I get air pockets And then I can move back in and continue building so what we want to do is we’re basically going to reproduce this side three more times and what we’re going to do rather than building on here we’re going to give ourselves a little bit more room so we’re going to come out One block and then we’re going to build up four there we go there is our second door and we’re going to go ahead and place the ladders in there because by now I may be needing some light I’m going to go ahead and throw some glowstone here so you can See it a little better there we go and then we’re going to do the same again instead of building off this direction we’re going to come out once and then we’re going to go up there we go let’s go ahead and round this off here make sure we get all of our There we go get all of our lines in and then it’s very simple build up four and then build out and there we go and we have the completed structure on the exterior so now I’m going to put in some glass here there we go let’s put some glass in on this side Here all right and now I want to wrap around with glass on this first layer and we need to make sure we save room for the top entrance so I’m going to build basically like this and you’ll see I’ve got two by two space then I’m going to place my ladders And then now I’m on the inside now we need to make sure that we put all the ladders up on each door so that we literally close off the room at this point so what that means is that all the water blocks inside the room now are shut off from The outside water so what we want to do now is we want to fill this space and since this is the tricky part another convenience of this particular build is that it’s it’s lean on space so you’re not having to use a whole lot of um uh effort to actually clear this out But what we’re doing is we’re removing the Water Source blocks in the room and it may get a tad dark here for a second let’s see I can do it this way there we go we just want to Stack fill fill the room with sand To get rid of all of the Water Source blocks in the room and this is how we’re going to have space underwater to build our larger base so I just need to finish up all of these and again like I said this is intriguing because this particular builds because it’s it’s Small but by moving out one block on each wall we get enough room where we can do a whole lot from here and we don’t have to worry too much about spending too much time um placing sand in a very large room so now it’s just a matter of removing The sand and you can see as I remove the sand that there is no more water in this room and this is the quickest way of removing water source blocks for the most part you can use gravel as well and the reason being is because you can use the way sand Works and you can just basically stay in the same spot until you’ve went all the way to the top so I keep filling in that spot right so we’ve got this space drilled out and then at that point we can place in our opposing crafting tables here is our furnaces we’ll put Two double chests on this side here on this side here there and then we’ll place our bed so now we have an underwater staging point that is fully operational and we can use it to go out and build larger bases uh out in the world out in the the The world around us and then when we’re ready we can make our way back and through these larger doors so it’ll keep us from drowning and we can also have this top area here that we can actually use to just simply fall in if we need to So there you go very quick very easy very simple uh in all honesty uh if you want to avoid the glass like I said by all means you can actually just fill this space in with actual blocks you don’t have to use glass for everything I Just like a lot of glass so I tend to take the time to make it so here you go staging point for building a bigger underwater base very quick design so hopefully that answers the questions that I got about how would you go about setting up a space so that you can go Out and build a larger base and this is exactly how I personally would go about it so hopefully this is something of value to you if you’ll uh if you like the video don’t forget to like it if you have comments criticisms critiques or if you have other different ideas for how To pull this off or you have some other things you would like me to build or cover please leave a comment below and as always if you like what I’m up to don’t forget to subscribe to the channel to keep up
