Hello everyone and welcome to a tutorial on how to decorate another portal in a desert style before we begin fun fact did you know that only a small percentage of just kidding did you know that i wrote almost three full pages of notes for this tutorial first you need a space About 20 blocks long seven or eight blocks wide and a bit less than 15 blocks tall your terrain doesn’t have to be completely flat and look more natural however try to find a suitable place keep in mind this is a desert oasis style portal now that you have your terrain picked Out start by making another portal make sure to sync the bottom blocks into the ground if you don’t have enough obsidian you can use random blocks for the bottom corners but i advise you to use something similar to obsidian like coal blocks for example for the top corners as it’ll be partially visible Now light your portal using cut sandstone make a rough circle-ish outline like this mirrored on both sides now that you have that done use smooth sandstone to build up the towers by six blocks and then you just have to fill both of them in go around all the sides and switch this middle Block here with chiseled sandstone remember do this on both towers now punch a two block window right here i am only doing this on the front side but you can also make windows on the sides and on the back if you would like this all comes down to personal preference now place Smooth sandstone stairs on either side of the chiseled sandstone and then smooth sandstone on top like this repeat this on all sides of both towers place smooth sandstone slabs like this you’re done with the basic structure now let’s add some details fill in the top of the tower with smooth sandstone And add one block in the center now place a sandstone wall and then three spruce fences finally cap it off with a screw slab this will be your flagpole repeat this process on the other tower for the flags there are a few things to consider the color the shape and the direction For this tutorial i’m using purple to match the color of the portal i’ll use glazed purple terracotta purple concrete and purple wool as sort of gradient as for the shape it’s a little hard to determine with only a few blocks but i’m going for a roughly triangular shape The direction of your flag should probably be consistent with the rest of your world as the wind is probably going one way but i’m choosing this direction for now using these three blocks i’m going to add depth and shadow so make sure these two flags are different for a more natural looking structure Because your flags don’t blow in the wind the same way so now i’m just going to add them in you see i’m going to add and replace blocks as i go along sort of like this and now i’ll add the other flag making sure to Vary it so it does not look the exact same i’m going to experiment with the shape a little bit and once i get something that i like i’ll leave it be now let’s frame the portal put barrels here on both sides for decoration and for extra storage now place spruce fences Along here to frame the portal and then add spruce fence gates on top next uh using spruce trap doors will cover over this area make sure to hit um shift so you’re not accidentally interacting with these spruce fence gates now slap over this middle part with the spruce slabs and that’s it for Framing the portal this leaves the obsidian of the portal partially visible and the purple black ties in nicely with the flags you’re on your last steps for your windows place the spruce trap door here and open them use extinguished campfires as an awning uh but remember If you don’t have these you can also substitute them for trapdoors there we go i only made two windows but remember it’s all down to personal choice if so if you’ve made more on the sides and on the back do remember to add detail for those last but not least Leaves i’m using acacia leaves because i like the texture of them but if you don’t if you have limited resources or don’t have access to all the blocks in the game you can use whatever leaves you have on hand however i advise against using spruce as their color doesn’t really match the dead Desert uh it doesn’t really change much from the kind of bluish thing i’d advise using like oak or um dark oak something something that turns kind of dead for the placing leaves just just kind of spam them around uh i don’t really have a particular way of doing it Uh you know it’s it just fan them around make them curl around a little bit like this um make sure they’re not floating and that’s all there is to it really you’re pretty much done but here’s a bonus make a path leading up to your portal i personally like how birch looks against Sand um but you can do whatever you want but make sure it matches with your world for example if you have uh say a brick path in your world then you can use that to make it consistent with what you have instead of what i’m putting here And that’s pretty much it you’re all done thank you so much for watching like if you enjoyed and i’ll see you next time bye Video Information
