Welcome back to another video guys in this one i’m going to show you a block by block tutorial for this dragon statue so you can see it’s quite a lot smaller than the the other one uh because it’s smaller i can actually do a block by block Tutorial for it it also comes on this column obviously this particular model is made of regular stone apart from the anasatic walls the number of blocks it contains is 2018 so it’s really not too many uh the gathering of the blocks for this build really shouldn’t be too challenging Uh the build itself might be a little bit tricky because of the wings um but i think obviously the column most of the body should be fairly easy to make it also comes in their silver color scheme this is the color scheme that i would prefer so this is cobblestone and mossy cobblestone With a magnum block for the eye obviously with a lot of foliage around it to make it look really overgrown as if it’s been in the forest or jungle for many many years and upon base there i think that looks really nice so if you’re making this dragon i would Suggest that you make it out of cobblestone honestly um but if you’re in a city if you want this for a city i i think obviously the regular style would be a better choice so beginning the tutorial with the column starting with the base of the column you Can see i’m leaving diagrams on the left side of the screen so the base is 10 by 11 including the stairs you can see that there are two layers of stairs that lead up to the the ornamental bet of the column i’m not going to i’m not going to leave commentary Throughout this whole video because there’s really not a lot that i can say um for i think this video is around so this part of the video is around 35 minutes um but it is all block by block so we’re beginning on the ornamental bit so this Is what is it five by four i’m not actually building this in whilst i’m speaking what i’ve done i’ve actually deconstructed the dragon and reversed the video and also the the sound effects i’ve also disabled the particle effect so it looks like i’m building it um those of you that have skipped this Part might believe that i’m actually building this perfectly which you know i’ll expect some comments about that at some point um but i think the style works quite well so you can see the columns really quite basic so moving on to the dragon now you can see i’m just going to do the The outer portion of the dragon now there’s diagram on the left side which should help you correct any mistakes personally i might prefer i would probably probably prefer using only the diagram but if you prefer obviously a block by block video then well that’s what you’ve got moving on to the head Um don’t be concerned if you get this wrong by one or two blocks as long as the shape looks similar enough um you should be all right so once you’ve got the first layer filled in uh it’s time to start on the second layer this stage isn’t As it isn’t as important as the first stage but yeah once again if you get this wrong by one or two blocks it really doesn’t matter that’s both sides of layer two done you can now begin to start working on the limbs uh i’ve left a diagram for the Well it’s mainly mainly for the wings but you can see the limbs there just about in case you want to check so this is the the right leg so it starts with the wings uh this stage is probably going to be the hardest to be honest um like i said You don’t need to get this perfect even if you’re more than one or two blocks out if you’re like three or four blocks i really doesn’t matter as long as the shape is quite similar it should not matter i think the diagram’s particularly useful here you can obviously check the shape quite easily Using those diagrams so yeah i think doing one side and then just copying your work over to the other side and then using the diagrams to check to see if it’s okay it’s probably the best um the best way forward here but um yeah i hope you found this clear enough At this stage the wings themselves the fingers are complete and now you need to fill in the wings with membrane so we’re starting at the front of the wing here now i’m using gun the sight stone you don’t need to use on the sight here I’m just using it too so that i can differentiate between the membrane and the actual fingers and the wings themselves for the dragon but you can use underside if you’d like it’s really up to you obviously you should be using cobblestone and mossy cobblestone if you’re using Uh if you’re going for the overgrown lock anyway this stage really isn’t too important as long as the the membrane looks smooth and is connected uh properly it really shouldn’t matter obviously you can add in some holes to the membrane as if the dragon has been damaged slightly if you’d like if you Prefer not to obviously don’t do that but yeah don’t don’t stress too much about um getting this perfect so really is complicated i’m not sure i probably wouldn’t get this plot by block even if i was following my following my own tutorial so uh yeah good luck with the stage and Once again i hope this this one is clear enough for you so that’s the dragon statue you’ve finished uh there’s one thing that i left out uh one correction and that is to place a block there and place a slab here so from here if you have chosen to go for The the overgrown style with cobblestone and mossy cobblestone place a magma block there for the eye that’s very easy and then come down to the base and if you actually want to make a circle um i’ll give you the dimensions so it’s 2 4 6 8 10 12. so that’s from the The base there and then five blocks here so just like that and then two two four ones and then two two five where are we so just like that and then all the way around obviously and then you can scatter blocks of grass grass blocks around just Like this so do it more so on the edges and around the base and then from there place tall grass i quite like tall grass it kind of looks like cat tails that you’d see in real life or some kind of marginal plant so just like that very simple and then You can scatter some lily pads just like so and obviously repeat that around and then grab some jungle leaves if you’re working in survival you might need to well you’ll obviously need to get some jungle wood to stop this despawning so you can place a block like that and then make A bush around the log just like that and then i’m working creative obviously so i don’t need to do this but from here you can begin to start adding these fines that go around the column just like that and obviously repeat that i like to do two next to each other like this And then you can have them so they branch out obviously real plants do this so i want to try and emulate the look of real life fines so something like that and then repeat that all the way up the dragon so coming up to the top of the dragon You want to start looking for places where soil could pos possibly accumulate so rather than somewhere like the wing here obviously this is uh this is angled in a way where soil has no chance of accumulating but in a hair an area like this you can imagine leaves gather and then Decay allowing for plants to root themselves into this area so you want to go along the dragon and obviously not color cover it fully but make these patches of bushes where you think a plant could or a vine could conalyze so just like that you don’t want to cover the head too Much because obviously that’s a key piece but all along here and then you can using the technique that i showed you on the column you do the same on the wing here just like that and then maybe the vine goes towards these uh bright spots and then you could have a fine coming Along here just like this so weaving we even get sway over this dragon i quite like to have it so that it comes into these open spots and then you can place a block there and then attach a vine to the leaf block and then remove those excess blocks and Have it so it looks like that and obviously you can repeat the same process over here okay just like that and obviously keep doing this you could obviously do the same in the tail so again we want to make it look like the vine is wrapping itself around this dragon The reason i use a mixture of vines and uh and leaf blocks the leaf blocks look more like um but more like bushes really they have more more um more mass to them and then obviously you can’t place a vine here or here on top of the block you can Only place it on the side blocks which is quite limiting obviously you can also place fines down here just like that so yeah it’s really up to you how much coverage you want to give the dragon obviously i’ve given it quite a bit of foliage coverage there and you can see the vines Are grown by themselves so yeah there’s quite a few of them there you might want to trim those back maybe so that’s it for this tutorial guys uh tell me how you got on leave me any feedback if you actually followed this tutorial and as usual thank you for watching Video Information
