Minecraft Evan Adventures – 25 – Brewing Potions

Hello everyone this is minecraft Evan and welcome back to the minecraft Evan adventures episode number 25 in this episode we are finally going to make some potions we had a request from one of our loyal subscribers to cure a zombie villager so for that we are going

To need to brew some potions as you can see here I’ve added some windows to the ground level of our tower and I’ve started working on expanding some of the windows on the other floors but I haven’t finished that yet so let’s head up to level four of our tower and you

See here I’ve written alchemy this is going to be our alchemy lab I have a chest with spacing supplies I have a crafting table and let us get brewing so the first thing we’re going to need to do is we’re going to need to construct some equipment to do our brewing the

First thing we’re going to build is a cauldron which is kind of like a sink and we build that out of the iron bars which I if not taken up here with me so let’s head back down smyer bars alright hopefully I am not forgetting any other ingredients that we are going

To need so we take the iron bars and we arrange them in a u-shape like this and we get a cauldron looks like a big sink or a little bathtub however you want to look at it so let’s put it over here next to our crafting table there we go

Well this isn’t very interesting we need to fill it up with some water so I’ve dump the bucket of water in there and then that will give us the water that we need to brew our potions so that’s the first piece of equipment that we need

The next piece of equipment that we need is a as a brewing stand so i am going to create a little table here up against the window let’s make it a very ugly table but thats a table nonetheless and now let’s go create our brewing stand so brewing stand recipe is three stone

Blocks on the bottom and one blaze rod which we got off blazes in the nether in the middle and that will give us a brewing stand now we’ll take the brewing stand over here and set it down so we open it up and we see that the this is

The brewing stand interface so we put the ingredient that we want to brew here and can fill up to three bottles with potions we need a fuel here and the fuel that we will use is blaze powder the recipe for blaze powder is just one blaze rod in the middle gives us to

Blaze powders and I believe that’s enough for 20 potions so there we have now created we fueled that brewing stand so the first thing that we need to do is we need to put some bottles down here to fill so we need to make some bottles will take glass blocks and arrange them

In this shape and that gives us three glass bottles so I’m going to make six so we put those down here and the interesting thing is one ingredient that gets consumed will make three potions you can make one you can make two or you can make three it doesn’t matter so you

Might as well make three because I mean your ingredient is being used for it so now we use the cauldron here to fill these bottles with water so you’ll see the cauldron lasted for 4 33 fills so in order to fill more water bottles we have to run outside sounds like Ansah

Becoming morning I can see now that everything is bad guys are all burning up that’s not the point of this episode so we could create an infinite water source actually let’s let’s do that let’s create a man in water source I have a bucket ear there’s another bucket

One more bucket and then we can create an infinite water source up in our brewing room one more bucket that’s gonna be up to here probably hopefully ah let’s see well oh there’s a lava bucket of hair yes hey see now I can see when there’s

Guys outside my house too far let’s put this now too far again I don’t know my way around my own house all right what I’m going to do is I’m going to put I have some lava buckets that I’m going to empty and i will empty them into here just

To free up these other buckets all right and now I’ll fill those buckets up with water and I will have four buckets filled with water that’s what I eat all right so now let’s head back up so let’s put the infinite water source next we don’t need the table too big put

The infinite water source here in the corner so the way we make the infinite water sources we drop four buckets of water in a you know 2 x 2 square one here here here and here so now until we destroy this by filling it in the sand

Or something else like that we can we can take this water back out and it will regenerate itself you see I haven’t destroyed this source and then we can fill the cauldron as many times as we want without having to go outside so let’s get back to to brewing potions so

We fueled the brewing stand and we have three three bottles of water now we need to put in an ingredient and the base ingredient for all for all useful pope for most useful potions is nether wart we drop in another ward and it becomes brewing

And this is going to make a base potion called an awkward potion the awkward potion itself doesn’t doesn’t do anything so see it says no effects but I’ve used one nether wart and I’ve made three awkward potions now to make something useful out of the the awkward

Potion we need to put in a better ingredient so let’s make a healing potion so for healing potion we need a listening or glycerin melon so we’re going to take a melons well we’re going to take a gold bar and we’re going to current turn it into gold nuggets oops I

Made too many but that’s okay so with the gold nuggets will arrange them around it like this and will drop one melon in the middle this will give us a glycerin melon take our melon is back and now we go over here to the brewing stand and we take our glycerin melon and

We drop it in and it begins brewing and when it completes we will have a useful potion the potion that it’s making is a potion that we can drink so when we use the potion will get the effect of the potion so we have a potion of healing

Which gives us instant health and that’s great but there’s still more that we can do to this we can improve potions so we had awkward potion which is a base we made a potion of healing which is a useful potion and then we can enhance the potion by dropping either glowstone

Or glowstone dust or red stone in see now it’s a brewing that up you see our our fuel is being consumed so eventually this is going to run out we’re going to need to put more blaze powder in all right now we have instant health too so this is a more powerful

Healing potion so I’ve just earned an achievement for making my first ocean I’ll drop them in actually let’s I don’t have enough fun I do let’s make a chest for our completed potions maybe a double wide just have to tell us this over here my inventory is kind of full because I

Came prepared with all these potion ingredients we’ll put our completed potions in here and we can take them out when we need them so that that is how we brew a potion now we have a special potion that we need to make in order to fill our request to cure the zombie

Villager the way that we cure a zombie villager is we we hit them with a splash potion of weakness and then we cure him with a golden apple so for that we’re going to need to make a splash potion of weakness and I believe I am missing

Missing an ingredient that I need for that of course let’s go back down to the kitchen hopefully is where I have this ingredient let’s check it out here no it’s down here yes so mushroom brown mushroom so let’s go back up so the ingredient that we’re going to need for the splash

Potion of weakness is a let me clear some of this stuff that that I don’t need right now is a fermented spider I so we are going to make a fermented spider I by taking one of the many spider eyes we’ve collected in our journeys and we take a little bit of

Sugar and take the brown mushroom drop it here and that will give us a fermented spider I sounds real tasty yeah let’s fill up some bottles of water and put them in our brewing stand and drop the fermented spider I so this is going to brew a potion of weakness

Potion of weakness is is not going to be very useful that was emotionally this is something that we would drink that would make us weak we don’t want to make us weak do you want to make the zombie villager week so now we have a potion of

Weakness which lasts for a minute and 30 seconds and gives us minus 4 attack damage that’s not what we need we a splash potion of weakness so the way that we make a splash potion a splash potion is something that we can throw that’s going to affect someone else for

That we need some gunpowder gunpowder we’re getting off of the creepers that we kill but before we do that actually let’s uh let’s make the the potion lasting longer say we wanted to in case we run into some problems it cost us one redstone and this will

Extend the duration of the splash of the potion of weakness so right now it’s a minute and 30 seconds so we’re enhancing it with some redstone and then let’s see how long it will last for minutes okay now let’s take the gunpowder and drop it on there and again it starts brewing

It’s going to convert these drinkable potions to splash potions that we can throw and our fuel is being burned up each time we do one of these offers but that’s okay so now we have splash potions of weakness this is what we need to cure their zombie villagers so let’s

Will put two of them away I’ll put my other ingredients Mary I’ll keep these up here for making potions yeah that’ll be good I’ll refill this so I don’t have to do it next time now it’s just a matter of finding the zombie villager so what I’ll do is I’ll continue the

Minecraft Evan adventures I’m not going to go roam around just looking for a zombie villager but I’ll continue my minecraft Evan adventures and when I find the zombie villager I will make a recording of of curing the zombie villager and we’ll make an episode out

Of that but in this episode we kind of complete well we did construct our alchemy lab let’s go back up there and have a look at it we created our alchemy lab which consists of an infinite water source a table with a brewing stand cauldron that we fill our water glasses

Up with our bottles up with and a crafting table and a couple of chests for our ingredients and our potions and we used the brewing stand to make a couple of potions one was a useful potion that we can drink a healing potion now there’s a harmful potion that

We can throw at someone else there are also lingering potions which kind of our like enhanced lash potions that leave in effect you can use the lingering potions to like poison your arrows or you know put to tip your arrows so when you shoot someone with your arrow it has the

Effect of the potion which is pretty cool so we could build some more brewing stands so we can get more potions going and but for now that will be it normally we want to make some fire resistance fire protection potions but I’ve enchanted my new diamond chestplate with

Fire protection for so when I go into the nether and I get blasted by blazes and things like that I don’t take much damage without that enchant I would need some fire protection potions in order to really be able to survive there so anyway this is minecraft evidencing
