Finally Minecraft the quest is here and working just in case you weren’t aware Minecraft for Quest has now been available for some time but well to say it hasn’t been working is a slight understatement that is until now we finally have a working version of Minecraft on the Quest and so in this video we’ll explore the good bad and the Beautiful about this blocky delight and if you like what you see I’ll show you the incredibly simple installation and so this is quest to start how does the game handle well after initially booting up questcraft For the first time you’d be thinking the game runs terribly but this is expected whilst Minecraft loads all the chunks around it also my menu seemed to be on the ground which was weird after about two minutes the game starts to run smoothly the preset draw distance is Relatively low but this can be changed but I don’t recommend it as you’re in VR you want it to run smoothly otherwise before you know it you’ll be puking all over that blocky grass now the mechanics of the game is something that’s done incredibly well albeit some dodgy wood Chopping all of your information in regards to health is on your left arm which is actually really well thought out you can choose to walk and Sprint with the thumbstick or teleport also to turn you can snap with the other thumbstick but this is all changeable from the settings menu crafting just Works like any other console crafting craft by using the toolbar on the left left or manually place the items yourself my Hotbar did glitch out slightly where I couldn’t rotate my items but I managed to fix that after I did a restart where the quest version really shines as the level of immersion Playing Minecraft and VR is like playing Minecraft for the first time building your house is something that’s a pure joy and that’s because you really get a sense of scale and pay more attention to the features and details I find building in VR actually easier than the normal Version and that’s because you’re more specific about placements and everything is just bigger the first time you come across a mob in VR is genuinely terrifying when you see a zombie or creeper at head level height it’s definitely a shock to the system now once you set up your home and it’s Relatively mod proof that’s when it’s time to explore and it’s also time when you’ll push the quest to its limits exploring the caves is both amazing and terrifying just like the early days of Minecraft the game also seems to run smoother in this environment exploring Minecraft’s incredible cave generation In VR is truly incredible the sense of scale is something that you can’t get from traditional screens you get a genuine fear of falling from the sheer drop in the caving systems but once you leave the caves to explore the surface the draw distance is a slight let down It works well in the case but not terribly well on the surface but in the end of the day you choose your compromise run smoothly with minimal draw distance or bask in the glory of the landscape while stuttering that being said having an open world game on Quest is something that fits so well the unexpected and unknown is something that VR is desperate for to explore the random terrains and Villages especially with the new updates in Minecraft is something truly special the level of immersion is pure joy and this poor is truly incredible but playing questcraft Reveals a problem with VR and that’s when you play Minecraft traditionally on a PC or console you can play for hours and this is just not really possible with VR not just because of the battery life but because the experience is demanding Minecraft is a relaxed game Yet in VR it’s just not that but that doesn’t take away from the beauty of this game yes it can be glitchy and it can crash occasionally especially when you enter the nether but what they have managed to do with this game is nothing but a miracle Minecraft fits really well Inside the quest and the game while it’s a completely different experience in VR it really stands out as an amazing experience and it gets you thinking when it comes to details and exploring and building it really works well when you’re immersed but when it comes to more monotonous tasks like Gathering and Mining you probably prefer to play on a normal traditional screen I think that’s what the idea of there being a hybrid way to play would work so well the switch back and forth would be an optimal experience maybe that could even be done within VR to switch from 2D to VR is a feature a lot of games could do it but it does really make you question why Microsoft haven’t released Minecraft VR officially for the quest because it really does makes sense so all in all questcraft is an incredible experience and in my opinion is something that Needs to be experienced so how can you get your hands on this incredible game well it’s actually incredibly simple first you’ll need sidequest there’s a link in the description that guides you through this from there you’ll find questcraft in the sciquest library before you go any further you need to Own a version of Minecraft Java Edition for this to work once downloaded load sidequest through unknown sources in your Library log into the account connected to the Minecraft Java Edition select the version that you’d like to play and that’s it you’re in it couldn’t be easier I hope you get as much Enjoyment out of questcraft as I did and as always if you like the video hit that subscribe button and I’ll catch you on the next one Video Information
