Hello my name is green and today I’m going to be showing you how to make a Georgian house and as you can see they look pretty cool but it does also look kind of complicated but I assure you once you learn the techniques it’s much easier than you think So we start off with some bricks and we actually need to work in sets of two so as you can see I’ve made a column of two blocks with it to block gap and then another column with two blocks this is roughly the style that’s going to go all The way around so make sure that everything works in twos except of course for the center which is going to be a one block Center we have some quartz pillar and then we mimic exactly what we made on the other side so we’ve got two symmetrical sides to this Foundation we are starting the front of our build contrary to how I normally do tutorials I’m going to be doing a little bit of detailing with some brick staircase now we’ll be going pretty fast with the detailing but it should be fairly easy to follow as we’re going to Be repeating it quite a lot the total height from the floor is twelve blocks of what I’ve just made then I’m going to be adding some windows with a little windowsill made out of quartz slab now what I’m doing is adding some iron trapdoors on the side of these Temporarily placed blocks these are going to act as the side of the windows and the trap doors are what make this build able to be at the small scale that it is there are some levers on the other side of the wall that activate them and allow them to be in the vertical Position we then finish that off with some quartz staircases to give it a bit of shape and that gives us a complete window we then repeat the process above it to give ourselves four windows for the entire thing and then connect the wall up by filling it in with some brick Now if that was too fast don’t worry about it we will be repeating it over and over again throughout the build and then finish all of the details with the brick staircase for the entrance is the only thing that won’t be repeated I’ve got a nice archway made out of quartz And a bit of glass behind it fairly easy to copy then this is the only one block size window is exactly the same detailing techniques again should be fairly easy to copy and now it’s another mimicking game where we basically copy exactly what we did on The left hand side onto the right hand side as this is one giant rectangular build it’s actually fairly easy it’s just a lot of repeated patterns so even if it looks kind of complicated you just got to know how to make one window and space them correctly and you’ve got Yourself an entire surface full of detail absolutely perfect now this wall is slightly shorter than the other it is 18 blocks long from the corner not the details the corner and the details that we’ve got are exactly the same as what we’ve just done with the upside down Bricks etc and the quartz slab at the top now if the spacing doesn’t add up when you’re detailing this side of the wall then you know then there’s something’s not quite right with the length of the wall and it should be fairly easy to remedy so as you can see We’ve gone for the same two spaces two pillars to window two space to Windows and the only difference that I’ve made here is having a circular window instead of two separate rectangular ones it just helps break up the shape a bit more and make a little more interesting to look At and then with all of those rectangular windows doing exactly the same detailing trick with the trapdoors as we did on the front face and like I said this build includes a lot of repeated patterns and most of it is made of brick now over the circular window There is a slight arch that I decided to add to bring a bit more focus on it seeing as it’s the centerpiece of this side of the build so now we’re moving on to the back now obviously we don’t have two front doors on this build but we can Start to collect everything up now as a proper cuboid rectangle and we can start spacing things out exactly the same and everything should match up on this opposite side we’re going to exactly mimic what we just made so things should match up and shouldn’t be too difficult To do like I said for the like the third time now there’s a lot of repeated patterns now you might wonder why these houses are called Georgian and it’s actually because they were built between 1714 and 1830 and the reason they’re called Georgian is simply because there was Four successive kings called George in the United Kingdom so henceforth they were called Georgia on the back we’re actually going to do something slightly different instead of mimicking the front of the house where there’s a front door we’re actually going to add a chimney now chimneys were huge obviously there are a Massive part of heating an entire household because there was no electricity in that time so chimneys absolutely everywhere fireplaces everywhere it was a huge part of the house design in general and they looked absolutely stunning the other thing that I wanted to do just to make it a bit more historically Accurate is adding a couple of Windows that are bricked up without any glass in them at all now the reason they did this was because you were taxed on the amount of windows that you had on your house so to save money the Georgians would actually brick up Some of their windows to avoid paying some tax pretty clever but you lose a bit of light at the same time so I wanted to add a couple of those at the back of the build so I could share that bit of information with you and then of Course repeating the same pattern over and over again to get all of those windows in it’s a very simple shape as you can see the chimney lies directly in the center and then everything should space out really really nicely on this rectangle so as you can see things are Starting to come together you may have noticed that I said use brick staircase for the corners now that was just a design choice I personally prefer to use quartz because it’s a bit more accurate on actual Georgian houses they painted these bricks white and a lot of them are That color still today for the front door I wanted to add a bit more of a porch sort of circling it off and adding a couple of decorative plants as well again that one’s just personal taste now then move on to the roof which might look complicated to begin with but it’s Actually not too bad I added a final layer of trap doors all the way on the outside of the courts and then started using the cyan concrete I absolutely love the concrete box and this color is perfect for what we want I’ve got the layer of two blah And then from there we want to make more and more rectangular layers until we hit about six or seven in height and then we finish it off with a flat surface and that gives us the shape that we want for this bill now obviously it still doesn’t look quite complete even though we’ve Got a lot of the features that we want with it we actually need to add in some chimneys but like I said the chimneys were an important part of these buildings and you rarely see them without them especially the historic ones but we also want to add a couple of Dormers because the roof space was massive they were often used as rooms or converted it into rooms at a later date so all you have to do is add a couple of pillars and that’s why we have that to block lib instead of one and then make a Nice a-frame over the top and connected to the roof it’s actually fairly simple to do it’s only a few courts their cases to add it’s not too difficult to make two of them equally spaced apart this is a very symmetrical build at the back I Needed to add a chimney as we made the stem of it earlier in the video and then I gave it just a little bit of detail you could even give it a bit more chimneys were very decorative and they showed the wealth of the person living there they weren’t always just block for Function so I then decided to add two more chimneys like I said you may even have more than one on a singular building fireplaces were everywhere over these giant houses I also added some upside down staircases to give it a bit of shape as like I said they were Detailed quite nicely so I added two on either side to keep the build looking very symmetrical although you could have one giant one in the middle or you could have several elsewhere it’s up to you on that design choice so that is the house complete it looks absolutely fantastic And there are multiple things you can do to improve it not least add a front or back garden or a state around it but that’s up to you to do however I will now show you what you can do with it let’s take a look at the interior that We have come up with it actually took about an hour to make this in create of in survival I have no idea but it would definitely take quite a long time so as you can see the only difference here is that we’ve added a little garden Out the front and we’ve got a wall that I’ll go over the design of later very very easy to add the other few little details that we changed as you can see we mixed in some terracotta inside the brick to try and give it a bit of more Of a texture again it’s a personal preference on that one you could have pure brick now the fence is a clever design made out of anvils and cauldrons hoppers and a bit of sense bearing in there as well we’ve got lots of upside down staircases and some cool Inlet Patterns so the only problem with this is that’s a lot of iron if you’re making that build in survival that is an eye-watering amount of iron to collect although some of you have crazy iron farms so it might not even be a problem so the little gate here if you put a bit Of iron fence on the outside you can make it look like it’s bent open and then we’ve got some garden bits on the inside with a bit of pod saw and all the flowers that you might add you could make it look a bit neater this is just a Quick proof of concept but it does look way more at home once it has got a front garden these houses in real life were rarely seen without this space although now they are used for parking of course the Georgians a few hundred years ago would never have Thought that they would end up being used for that so it was a real statement of wealth all of these features so let’s have a quick look inside despite its size on the outside there’s not a lot of space in here so you have to make do They’ve got a nice entrance hall with a staircase although normally they would be way more dominating we’ve got a little room on the side here where we kind of force the kitchen in here again just very bog-standard furniture designs nothing too fancy one of the big problems is the levers on the inside There are absolute pain to hide so you lose an entire block of space because you have to put an interior wall in just to hide them and then another set of windows but unless you pointed it out I don’t think you’d notice that much if you were just walking around showing Around your friends and they may even wonder how you did the whole vertical trapdoor however you can still see them it is a problem with this build but it works and that’s the main thing we’ve got some pretty cool designs in here like I said it should be more open and more square But we have had to force quite a lot of rooms into a small space so I have a quick look upstairs and we’ve only got space again for three whole rooms we got the corridor up here with some more desks and furniture and lampshades we’ve got a little chandelier as well that Looks more like a ceiling fan and then we got some bedrooms or some custom beds again more lampshades there’s a lot of the same thing and some posters what are the main things to note here is the georgian-style walls with the quartz and the just single color up to the ceiling Which indicates you know wallpaper or painted walls or whatever it’s a very Georgian style that was introduced around that time so that is it for this video I absolutely fell in love with this design and I’m so happy with it and I want to thank happy jellyfish that Put this together with me it turned out absolutely fantastically so that’s it for me what video would you like to see next what house design what historical house would you like to see and I hope you enjoyed the little historical facts thrown in there as well I would like to Show a bit more architectural history in my videos anyway thank you very much for watching and good bye Video Information
