Hey guys anthonym here and welcome back to another minecraft video and uh in this video i’m gonna be showing you guys how to set up and configure a minecraft server uh and this is actually a brand new world spawn of the hunt for the golden apple map and apparently uh Lava now pours out of the side of this mountain that never happened before so this is it officially a boss map i may actually just put that there on my world spawn just to actually have that there so anyways uh yeah so in this video i’m going to be showing you guys everything You need to know for configuring a server to work for yourself now i’m not going to be getting into too much of nitty gritty today just really everything you’re going to need to make it work so other people can join it so the first thing that you’re going to Want to do is check out the description for any programs that you guys are going to need that’s going to include the minecraft server server files and i i think that’s pretty much it but if there’s anything else just be sure to check and it looks like it’s actually Turning night this is a perfect example to actually show you guys i am currently online so if i type in set time i think zero or no slash set time day i’m not really sure how the commands work right now or just time day set time zero Yeah i can’t remember what the commands are for just regular multiplayer i remember what they are for single player commands but anyways that’s besides the point um so the first thing you guys want to get going to want to do is check out the description for those files uh make sure you download Minecraftserver.exe and uh you shut up cows laggy cows and you’re you’re going to want to put the minecraft server.exe into a special folder just know where it is that’s basically all you need to do um so yeah from there i’m going to show you guys what you need to do as far as Configuring settings on your computer so we’re not going to hop straight over to that program yet but we’re going to hop to it pretty quickly so uh let’s go ahead and do that and this lava fall is amazing so yeah just a heads up that my recording software is fairly glitchy for The first minute so just bear with me all right guys so uh now that we’re at the desktop the first thing you’re going to want to do is go into your internet browser and then just browse to minecraft.net and if you’re on a mac or Linux you can do this as well and then on the bottom right there’s this little area that says play minecraft beta you’re just going to want to hit download there and then you don’t need to concern yourself with too much on this page as far as the Regular downloads go you just want to concern yourself with the multiplayer beta server software and everything that’s lined below it so if you’re running windows you’re going to want to have this minecraft server.exe file i’m just going to go ahead and right click and save link as and i’m going to save That to my desktop for the sake of simplicity as you can see it popped up on the top right on top left and if we’re running uh linux or mac you’re going to want to download the minecraft server jar file and follow the instructions that it lists for actually running it So yeah the next thing that i’m going to do is i’m going to go to ipchicken.netr.com rather not net and then i’m going to copy my ip address out of here so i’m just going to select the whole thing i’m going to right click and I’m going to copy this is the ip address you need by the way if there’s any other ipa address you think you’re going to need when you give it to people you don’t need it we’re going to talk about other ip addresses here in just a minute but this Is the ip address you give to your friends when you want to have them play on your server so yeah so now that that’s out of the way i’m gonna now i’m gonna go on the bottom right here and i’m sorry i haven’t opened up the minecraft server yet we Don’t need to yet on the bottom right if you’re in windows uh there’ll be this little network icon here wherever it shows that you have internet just go ahead and right click on that and open network and sharing center and if you’re in windows vista i believe there’s a Similar option but uh yeah just you’ll be able to find it and then in here just go to connections and then click on details and then you get a few tidbits tidbits of information here there’s a whole bunch of stuff here but you only need to concern yourself with The ipv4 default gateway the specific one that says default gateway and then your ip version 4 address so just take mental note of those or leave the window up and you’ll be fine now i’m going to go back to the browser here and i’m going to go to the Ipv4 default gateway and it lists it as 192.168.1.1 so i’m gonna go to that i already have my admin information input and what i’m accessing now is my router so uh i have my internet connection goes into a router and then goes into my pc so i can have multiple Uh multiple connections like an xbox you know another computer etc i’m sure most of you probably have a router so most of you will probably have to do the step so yeah and by the way if you guys don’t have a netgear router or you don’t have The same configuration i do uh the second link in the description will actually there will be a link to a website that will actually show you guys exactly how to do this step-by-step this step that i’m doing with your router so if you get confused by the way i’m doing it go to That website and that’ll tell you how to do it as well but this is a vital step if you have a router so on the left side here i have a whole bunch of interesting options but on the left i want to choose port forwarding slash port triggering but all you need To know is port forwarding i actually already set the minecrafting up here i’m going to go ahead and delete it so i can show you guys so you’re going to get a screen like this make sure port forwarding is selected and then go ahead and add a custom service and then just Type in minecraft here and then with the starting port change that or put that as two five five six five so as you can see and then make this one two five five six five as well alrighty then so now that those are set you see a server i p address thing in Here now the i the address that you need to put in there you want to go back to your network connection details here that has all this information and then look at your ip version 4 address and this one will also begin with 192.168. and then mine ends in 1.110 That i i manually set it that way so for the server address you want to have it be 192.168.1.110 because that is the ip address of your computer within your network so just go ahead and hit apply there and it’s going to take a second and now as you can see Minecraft is all set up to go as far as through my router so this is like i said this is one of the most vital steps so don’t skip it just because it’s boring because i know you guys are bored but there’s only one way to really set up a Server so yeah so now that we’re all set i’m just going to go ahead and exit out of my browser now i don’t need it anymore and then just double click on minecraft server go ahead and click run here and this little window will pop up here Oh crap yeah and as you can see it’s going to generate all sorts of files on your desktop if you don’t want that to happen just go ahead and put this minecraft server file into another folder which is probably what i should have done But uh this is a kind of a better visual example in my opinion so go ahead and hit allow access do not hit cancel or the x button just because you’re questioning it just hit allow otherwise uh it’ll block the program and you won’t be able to access your server so now That you’ve hit allow as you can see it’s generated a map all that good stuff on the top here it’s going to say failed to load a few things just don’t worry about it because this is the first time you started up your server and uh yeah One more key bit of information is that your minecraft server version has to match your actual minecraft version and you need a licensed copy of minecraft in order for this to work so now we’re gonna get into the good stuff uh yeah so now we’re gonna open up uh Minecraft itself and and it’s gonna be very laggy because of the way i’m recording so gameplay is gonna suck but um as you can see we have single player multiplayer mods and options we’re just gonna go to multiplayer and i’m gonna go ahead and delete what i already had in here just To show you guys the steps so go ahead and paste by hitting control v paste the ip address we copied from ipchicken.com and as you can see in all cases throughout this entire video i’ve had it blocked out but then after that’s pasted in make sure there are no spaces and Then put in a semicolon and then the numbers 25565 the port that we just forwarded and then go ahead and hit connect and as you can see the map has spawned perfectly all sorts of neat tall grass it does load fairly slow because of my internet connection just in general People who host servers on their own computers it will always lag so there’s no getting around that unless you host it with the dedicated host but that is neither here nor there for this tutorial so yeah i’m going to flip to a view where i actually have someone else Connected to my server that address that i just put in the 24. with the ending of two five five six five that is the address that you give to people uh not obviously not my address that’s why i blurt most of it out so you’re not giving people my Address but uh you know if you followed the tutorial correctly then you will have all the information you need in order to set up a minecraft server and share it with your friends what’s spawning over here what is this what is this oh it’s just a boring mountain so yeah i’m going To flip to that view where me and skidscape are actually in a server and you’re not going to see this laggy window here so let’s do it so yeah uh that’s pretty much how you set it up guys uh as you can see i got skidscape to uh join a server with me Say hi guys hey yeah so uh this is the same world we were in before except it’s night time so i’ll turn up the game and all that but as you can see the lava flow is still over there and i gave him you know the right the ip Address that i talked about with you guys all the settings you know like there’s only going to be that one one line of numbers that you’re going to need to share out with people so uh anyways guys um yeah that punch this zombie punch zombies tag team yeah Go back this is how real men kill zombies oh yeah look at that zombie yeah i know and it was natural too so i know so yeah anyways guys um like i said in the beginning of the video as far as any advanced settings go Um i’m gonna cover that in part two uh you know more advanced settings more little tips and tricks like you know how to cut how to get whatever world spawn you want into a multiplayer map or you know transfer a map that you already have in single player and a multi-player so Anything like that you know i’ll release that here in the future but anyways guys um yeah i hope you guys have enjoyed my uh tutorial on how to set up a minecraft server why you be destroying trees you not tree lover i don’t like trees so yeah Thanks for watching guys um my name is eminem his name is skitscape and we bid you all farewell thanks so much for watching oh no i’m not i’m so not used to pvp being on i always have it off on my because i don’t server Minecraft like a real man oh you got me this is how real men kill skitscape for real guys all right for real guys thanks you thanks so much
