Trees are an awesome way to decorate your Minecraft world big trees are definitely a good way to decorate your Minecraft world but giant trees they are the best way to decorate your Minecraft world I’m going to teach you how to make this giant custom tree completely free

Hand with no planning don’t you go anywhere Good morning good afternoon good evening and good night depending what time you’re watching this next episode from me have a Mads and today we are carrying on with our free build series now we’ve done a couple of analyses one rustic one modern we did that big nether portal

That we made up as we went along and today I’m doing another one that a few people have mentioned that they would quite fancy seeing we are going to do a custom tree so you can see in the background we’ve got loads and loads of trees that they are birch and they are

Dark oak so we’re going to make a tree that’s neither birch nor dark hug simply because I just wanted to stand out a little bit more on this countryside but we’re gonna do a big one it’s going to be great fun and we’re gonna kind of

Make it up as we go along I’ve got an image in my head as to what I want it to look like it might look that way it might not look that way we will find out fairly soon let’s get on with it so the first thing I’ve done is I’ve set out

The approximate size I think that this is going to be at the bottom it might not be quite this big I’m not tired of sure yet because well this is freehand in it but this is probably about the size and we need to have a height for

This tree that we can fairly reasonably split up into three sections and I figured 60 is probably about right so we’re gonna go up one two three four five six all the way up to 60 so we’ve got a height of 60 and it is just below

The cloud which is good and I want to get a different color wool because what I want to do is I want to come down and I want to split this into three sections which are granular probably could have done when I am when I first built it but

I’m doing this in stages so I’ll go up 20 so we’ve got it it’s not quite 20 it’s not office obviously it’s offset that bit at the bottom is longer than that bit in the middle and that’s kind of what I’m off drugs I don’t want to look

Too regular really and then just a little bit from the top maybe roundabout I don’t know there we’re going to stick another one now this is the three points of which we can have branches come off of this tree so three levels of branch if you don’t but

Before we do that we want to come out with this yellow just a little bit so as we can still see it so we’re gonna come out one through three or four or five it doesn’t mean that this is where the branches are going to be it just happens

To be the way I’m coming out at the moment just as I’ll keep the level and we’re going to be able to delete this out in a bit and we’ll do the same on the others okay so we are kind of set there and ready so what we’re going to

Do first is build at the trunk of the tree and the main part of the trunk is going to be in oak wood there isn’t abused oak wood is it just is a really good base color we’re going to intersperse it with some other words but

Oak wood is a really great color to start with so what we’re going to do is we’re going to go all the way around this blue and we’re going to create a complete I guess you can call it complete encasing with the oak wood all

The way to the top so now what I’m going to do you can see I’ve encased it completely enough shoved just a little stick on the top I do not know if I’m going to leave that there at the moment I might I might not but now we’ve got to

Just build out the trunk a little bit and what we’re going to do is we’re going to come down to the bottom and we’re going to start obviously the bottom is bigger than the top on a tree standard but we’re gonna take you up on all of the sides a certain height and

Obviously this is the next bit up so probably gonna take this up about as far as the top yellow bit in the same word because we’re going to intersperse different types of wood at a later date so if we take this am i under the

There we are right so up to the second Jude up it is where this one’s gonna go all the way to the top stops talking so need to get this right out to the yellow which is very nearly there and it’s important with this one that the orientation of the logs is in

The right direction the last one didn’t matter much goats going to be inside in fact the last one you almost don’t have to do it in wood although I do like to just be absolutely sure so we’ve got another one up there we go very nearly very nearly more and then

When we just below that I’m just gonna go up with that one about halfway between the last wall and the where we’ve got to in the rest of him so let’s crack on with all of the other side doing exactly the same thing which will start to build out the structure of this

Tree Until we start to put a little bit more shape onto this tree and what we’re also going to do is when we get out to the top we’re also going to start to put some shape kind of on the underside of the tree so if you can imagine we’re

Gonna have this starting coming out this way can you see how that looks so we’re gonna start to build out some shape in the tree trunk itself so what I do I’m gonna carry on doing that rather than you have to watch me do all of it all

The time and I’ll be back when I’ve done a little bit more so we’ve but it’s not finished but we can created the the stick that will become the tree and it looks a little bit like a skyscraper still at the minute because it’s very up-and-down you because we’ve not put

Any of the branches on and you can see the dragon in the background from my nether portal that I did it last week can you see there that’s quite funny from this angle and right so what we’re going to do now is we’re going to build

Up the root system now I don’t want to do too much rootage because if you do too much it’s just going to look a little bit weird so what we’re going to do is we’re just going to literally bring it out a few in each direction

Here just so as it looks like it’s continuous one there might be one there one there one there one there whoops I didn’t want to do that let’s just shove that one back okay so you can see that we’re just pulling out the root system a little bit so creating a bit of

A sweep can you see how that is sweeping out and I just want to go ever so slightly further out just one there and there because I just think it needs that extra little bit you don’t come out too far but the same time you’ve got to come

Out far enough so what we’re going to do is I’m just gonna it’s a little bit harder when you’re doing it on an angle for obvious reasons but you know we’ll give it a go and see if we can’t make that look a little bit more like a a

Root as well by going in out at favor that way and then come this way and this way create a little bit width like a bit of width there we go that’s like that like that and though there and there okay you can see we created a similar

Cut it’s a lot harder on the angle we create a similar kind of route there so we look at it again from the side we’ve got that curve that it is we’re actually looking for so let’s carry on doing this on each side so it’s come out a little

Bit further there that’s too far on the other side get out a little bit further there and they’re trying to orient in the log so it looks like it’s an actual route now they’re in there and then just a couple on the side so make you look

Consistent like that okay so how’s that look again from the edge you want to see wherever it sweeps doesn’t quite sweet very well because it needs one on there so how about that now it is that sweep looking at the profile that’s not too bad I might just lose out on that one

Now see how that sweeps now right see I think that looks a little bit better so again I’m gonna carry on and get all these routes done and then I’ll be back when I’m done one set of routes later and we are ready to start having a pop at some of these

Branches now branches a really quite heart because they don’t come straight out like a spike like this they kind of go and open to the side so what I’m gonna do first off is I’m going to again surround this little bit here because I think it’s pretty reasonable to assume

That we’re gonna have a branch at this level there is at least that big and then we’re going to kind of come out and create some kind of I don’t know spindly core that we’re going to follow as effectively the center of the branch and it’s going to come up and back and

And our research is not connected and it needs to come out at least half the width of the height of the tree so that’s not even close to being far enough yet you can see that it’s got come out further than that so we’re gonna bring it out this way a little bit

More then we’re gonna bring it out this way and up one and up another one and across and oh right so let’s just check the length of that compared with the tree itself okay so he can imagine that branch there being the bottom branches very nearly long enough very nearly but

Maybe half a dozen a six six blocks probably out from where we need to be to one two three four five six okay I reckon in terms of distance from the tree that’s probably about right but what we do also want to do is we want to

Get some spindles coming off the side as well don’t because it’s not just a straight line we want it to come out sideways so take that the highest point of one of these branch bits and we’re going to effectively move it in the same direction as this tree branches going

We’re going up and across like that okay so you can see so we’ve now got what’s effectively a spindly arm coming out the side like that and then we’re gonna do another one slightly further forward only just slightly further forwards on this bit here coming out in the same same way but

In the opposite direction so we’re gonna come out quite a nice long way and then we’re gonna come up we’re gonna come out and up very month we’re not going we’re not changing the direction kind of sideways or upwards more than one block at a time because if we do that it’s

Just going to look unnatural and the whole thing we try to achieve is a level of natural look here so again so let’s look at that from the top and we’ve got I think that’s not too bad and then we’re going to come out slightly down to this sort of length

And we’re gonna do a much shorter one coming out here here we go so I reckon that’s far enough and then coming on the other side yeah that’s good lengths actually can be on the other side you’re gonna come up and across and up and across and we might come back in on

Ourselves there okay so I reckon I only can come out just a little bit further oh there we go so I reckon that is good as a guideline thought it is we’re trying to achieve now what we want to do now is want to surround this branch and

Make it so as it is a nice thick bough of a tree and we’re going to do that by for some distance we’re gonna literally surround it with these eight bits we’ve got remember is when we go up on the tree or down on the tree we have to

Follow so there for example we’ve gone up so we have to follow it and we have to follow it on the bottom as well I’ve already done all right and then we come up there like that and that can then come out and then we’re coming out one and two and three and

It’s coming up but this time it’s also coming across so if we come out that way and all that way it’s also coming across that way so that now is the top three of the a that we want to do and we go back there that comes out about there and

That gives us you see there that gives us the eight so that’s one two and there’s our eight and we can get that going in the right direction as well and we can come out again that’s the eight and then again here we’re coming up

Again so do we want to come up there there try again all facing the same way just does look and a little bit better and we’re gonna go it this way and then we’ve got a nice long run before we have to come across another one okay so then

We come in so this one goes out and this one continues but it continues one across it was the same high but it comes out one across so we need to do is actually the same with this bale come out one across okay take those two out there we go to keep those

Two and that comes better and now then we can keep coming out this way what’s that what’s up it’s come up one its fooled me it almost at me then didn’t it but we’ve got to go up one there careful not to fall especially for doing it and survival

Because that would be deadly there crossbow just go there and there and then we can go that way that way that way that way that way and that way so you can see what we’re doing now is we’re starting to build this bow out but we don’t just want a square bow because

That’s not how they look so we’re just gonna add some more depth to it by coming out like this and it gives you can see it gives it a much better look underneath we need to do the same knocking out blocks I don’t need to then there we go

You can see you can just build the bow out with some random blocks on the side like this just making sure that it looks as natural as you possibly can coming out the side there seeing you see that it works really rather well when you do this I say let’s just get another

One that should be that way around it should be that way around this than this which means that we really want to bring that one out there uh was it doesn’t look quite right so it comes a little bit like this as you continue to grow

These out now a lot of this is gonna be semi visible not completely visible so it doesn’t have to be perfect but I do want it to look at least a little bit good so we’ve got to come out here I’m gonna get rid of that one because I

Doesn’t want to attach to come out here get rid of that one that’s one to attach either I’m just going to continue with this large branch on this side until we’ve got let’s go to that one as well because that’s not what we want until we’ve got branches that look the right

Size and shape on the underneath of that one there I was gonna come out there as well so I’m just carry on and carry on until you’ve got branches it you just liked the look of it’s about what you think is right when you do in these trees it’s

All about feel and about how it kind of works in your head and if it doesn’t work in your head do it again and if it does work in your head you’ve got it right so I’m just going to carry on doing this in my head a little bit and

We’ll see what we get no try not to fall off So we finished sort of the bottom three branches you’ll notice this big branch coming outside of made ever so slightly bigger because I wanted it to be slightly offset this one’s coming out our angle which makes it look a little bit different a little bit less straighten a little bit more jaggedy

Which is good and then this fellow here is coming out to the side as well so I think that they look about right so now what we want to do is we need to do another load of branches now looking at these I think these yellow ones there

Are too low in fact I know for an absolute fact they are too low so if you want to get rid of them and we want to put I reckon about that level cause I think they’re way too low okay let’s get it out there see they’re almost on top

Of the other branches and of course they don’t have to be exactly the same level it almost looks good if they don’t but you want them to be around about the same because if you look at a tree you’ll notice it does actually spawn its branches and about the same level every

Time when you go around the tree so there we go so that’s where we’re going to put the second lot of branches and they’re going to go upwards from there because there’s a bit space to the ones that on the top but these branches here aren’t going to be nearly as big they’re

Going to be much smaller and simply because you know you don’t need them to be this big really they’re going to start off again it’s actually in the same way but what we’re going to do is we’re going to bring them out and they’re going to go up maybe a little

Bit more and a little bit more jaggedy way and they’re not going to come out nearly as far I want them to go in the opposite direction so the way that one went ever so slightly so I want this one to come off at this angle a little bit

More so let’s bring it out this way okay and then so we’ve come out not quite far enough yet but very nearly so come now this way a little bit I reckon that is plenty far enough so you can see when we look at it from above we’ve come out to a roundabout

Where the last outward branches come on the bottom one so we’re going to do that the same on every side and I’m gonna put in again some boughs coming off the edges of these and it’s actually the same way but again these don’t want to

Be as big come out on the side there like that and that is probably big enough and then we come out this side this side as well and do it’s actually the same thing I’m going to come out of this one no one that has to come out too

Far too quickly it doesn’t look quite right I mean check what I’m doing from above I think that’s absolutely fine so we’re gonna carry on doing this and then we’re going to do it again for the upper most branches which again I’m going to do it’s actually the same

Way and once we’ve done that I will be back and we’ll have a look at what we’ve done and if I had you manage to do it because it’s sort is it looks right in my head but whether or not I can translate into blocks is no man but

We’ll have a go and I’ll be back when I’ve done all the branches we’ve got all of our branches in them we’ve just made the top you can see we’ve made it into just a little bit scratchy with a few little bits on top so as we can place

The stuff on it but all three of those branches on each level looking really quite good actually I’m quite glad with the way that it’s come out I just see there I’ve forgotten to remove one of those wolves so let’s get rid of that we don’t want that big yellow sticking out

And making it all look a little bit odd so what we’re going to do now is starting from the bottom again we’re going to start to put in some leaves and we can just start without leads and you’ll notice in my inventory I have got other types of leaves as well but we’re

Just going to start with oak leaves because we want to get again our base and starting from the end here and from the end of each branch just going to stick an oak label and then we’re going to do oak leaves but we don’t want oak

Leaves on like every single as a block I don’t want them a little bit of a sketchy way can you see what I mean so they’re not all joined together some of them are and some of them aren’t but we want them so they’re on different levels

But we do want them to not be touching all the time because we want to be able to see sometimes you want to be able to see through the gaps of them so it takes a little bit of time cuz obviously we’ve got to place

And then take away so can you see the effect we’re trying to get there I just want to have a nice sketchy area so we’re gonna build up like that over and over and we can build up from the trunk as well and we’re going to build quite

Way into the trunk too but we want to get a good coverage but at the same time we don’t want to be covering too much that wall that we’ve got covers been quite a lot of time to get that word on there so we don’t want to be taking it

You know just coming up with mass values or in blocks or some other such stuff finally but we don’t do that so here we go with the kind of crisscross in our leaves like this I’m making for a nice pattern and I’m just going to crack on

With some of this I’ll do a bit of a speed up so as you can see what it is I’m doing and then we’ll come back to it when I may be done a level or two and we’ll take it from there all right let’s crack on When you want to get off their darkest Brown the gravity pulls you straight down from a bird’s-eye view you should go Fanta I see this dude Have you ever heard the phrase go big or go home well I think I may have just redefined it by well going just a little bit bigger than her thought perhaps I was going to this is a bigger job than I thought it is absolutely Moon rusev and

Whilst fun it is taking a long while subtle rather than just leave you angle although you would have known your name because thankfully this was like half a second in the swoosh just putting me in the last frame and I just come back and do a little bit more with you because

Well I missed you I missed you people that’s what it was I missed you and it’s difficult to do these builds when you’ve not thought you might surround you so just come say hi to you again whilst I’m doing this it is looming big have you seen this thing it’s blooming big

Suntrasoft knocking bits off like this and then making kind of areas off the side of it and making sure that we’ve got you know space between leaves and yeah anyway it’s it’s quite big I don’t want that to look like a lady Carlsen table for sure I don’t really want to do

That so we’re gonna soften up side up just a little bit as well there we go let’s get out like that we can soften that by doing that soften the sides and then make these here I mean this is it’s not random this live play so it’s not

Entirely random but it is I guess you could say it is a little bit thought out rather than being entirely entirely random because randomness wouldn’t really work here I don’t think even though nature’s a pretty Landin thing we’re trying to get a little bit order

In the chaos of nature here so just kind of putting leaves where leaves look like they belong and it’s not always very simple but if you guys trace I’d be very interested to see what you did and you did ended up I recommend you don’t do this

In survival it will be a project and off in survival that is for sure but it’s really quite fun to see stuff that’s in your head starts perform in real life so I recommend you having a go and how we’re doing there so the legs are

Starting to come with just a little bit more like that right I think I need to carry on and that’s the fr can get before I miss you too much again okay so I want to cry because of that has got to be I don’t know how many thousand blocks

I’ve just put onto that but we have got the bottom apart finished is absolutely mental so now what we got to do is we’ve got to do the slightly smaller but still a little bit scary upper part so I’m going to be back with you when I ever

Done that literally what I’m doing is unplugging leaves on again this is about my this is my leaf punking stage and so it’s it’s all about leaves lots and lots and lots and lots and lots of leaves I’m actually putting these on see we’ve got these open-ended logs obvious I did the

Open-ended logs are unsightly so we’re that open-ended logs land within the area of leaves I am shoving a leaf on it just like that so she can’t see it looks just a little bit better I think and then we’re just going to carry on get it all of this

Done and I’ll be back in about 14 years I hope it’s not 14 years because that would mean that my show jaw has gone all off and I haven’t put a video every four weeks in that would be bad so let’s crack on show it so the year is 2028 and

I have now eventually finished the oak leafy bit of it and I reckon there has to be something like 15,000 ugly blocks on that maybe a few more quite pleasing to the eye however so now what we’re going to do is we’re going to start to

Give it some detail a little bit more detail and the way we’re going to do that is by using different colored wood and this is again a bit of an experiment because this trunk here hasn’t got an awful lot of texture at the moment of

What I want to do is I want to build in just a little bit of texture by putting in Justin where there is oak make it spruce and just see what it looks like and this may or may not work but I want to do is I just want to make sure that

We’ve got just a little bit more oomph on the eye I get with what we’ve actually physically built because otherwise would be a bit of a shame if it’s just a bit bland and doesn’t look quite right so we’re just gonna put a little bit of this spruce

Wood in here to give it a little bit more more feeling and this is where before we were doing it in a semi random way this is an almost entirely random way because actually for me to try and work out where to put these things it’s

Probably going to be too hard so I’m just randomly slipping these things in it but you can see that from there from the way we’ve done it already actually it’s starting to look a little bit alright so I’m just going to take a step back so you can see it’s not nearly done

Yet obviously but what we’ve got here is we’ve got a bit more texture and then if I ever just want to experiment again this may not work so I’m just gonna give it a try but just on this side here if I put a little bit of jungle wood in as

Well will that work – it’s gotta be facing the right way there we go just want to see whether or not it’s got the same effect not yet convinced about we’ll give it a go so let’s just come back and take a look at it from a little

Bit more distance you know what I think he works I think that’s okay we don’t want to overdo it just want a little bit in there but I think that is alright so I’m just going to come along and just do a load of these now and then what we’re

Also gonna do is we’re gonna get some spruce leaves we’re not going to replace any of the leaves that we’ve got here we are just going to add spruce leaves randomly around on this leaf structure just to see how it looks again let’s just give it a little bit

More feel because we we need it to have a little bit of movement maybe a little bit of color variation and think tricolor of leaves might well be the thing that does what we want and then it would get some jungle leaves as well and put these in here again relatively

Randomly and I think this might just work so I’m just going to take a step back now from just this small section that we’ve done and I’m gonna see what it looks like so so that’s quite subtle the way those leaves change color but I

Like it I think we need to do that all the way around actually I don’t know looks alright and if we combine that with the different color wood I think we’re onto something so I’m gonna crack on and get this down and I’ll be back when it’s finished and we’ve got one

Finished tree I really like the way the shape has come out we’ve got it’s a bit occasion life I suppose you could say it’s quite oriental in the way it looks but it is absolutely enormous and I like the way that the branches have come out and those kind of the different shades
