Hey everyone how you doing a blue here and welcome to part one of our minecraft medieval castle tutorial so guys before we get started let me say a mega thank you to all of you for your amazing support in the showcase video i was honestly debating about how many People would really be interested in this build because it is so big and i was really worried that none of you would really like it um but you guys gave me an incredible amount of support the feedback was overwhelming i cannot believe how many of you replied in the comments I will be trying my best to get through every single comment and reply to you guys but there were just so many i think we’re at about 700 comments so far which is absolutely insane guys but keep them coming because i absolutely love hearing from you guys I mean it’s great to get such a good response for a build like this now with that being said guys there is so much to go over so we’re gonna try and break this down a little bit now first of all this has been a big build that i’ve been working on for Quite some time now i’ve actually been through four or five castle designs um none of them really were the right fit for what we’re building this for now please bear in mind that this is a build i’ve been planning for the medieval harbor docks tutorial series that we’ve been building Now if you haven’t done so already or you want to check out any of the builds that are in the docks that was in the showcase video please be sure to check the link out in the description for the playlist for the docs because i’ve got Tutorials for all of the houses there if you want to build along with those now with that being said there is a few reference links that i will link in the description they’re going to be for the main gate which is going to be at the Front of the castle and the walls as well now for the gate i’ve got a tutorial already set up for that so the tutorial for that will be left in the description so you can check that out um after we’ll go over exactly the layout so you know Exactly where the gate is going to be placed um but that will be referenced in the description below so be sure to check that out and build that in the location i show you in the floor plan in just a moment now with that being said guys please Bear in mind that this is a very large tutorial okay so this is going to be a very big build now we’re going to be breaking this down in sections so each video is going to be approximately 30 minutes long give or take a few because I can’t always plan exactly how long a video is going to turn out because of making edits in between everything so roughly 30 minutes is my aim for each video now doing it at this length makes it easier for me to plan everything out because there are so many details so Many rooms so many buildings and to try and plan it all in too much of a bulk at once is very hard so breaking it down is going to make it much easier for me to organize the video better and make less mistakes along the way Now with that being said guys once again thank you so much for your support i love you guys to bits and please keep the comments and all the likes come in the more support we get in these videos the more quicker i can get them out to you guys and get everything uploaded Now with that being said as well we will be doing the interiors guys i had so many comments about that and because so many of you have asked i guarantee you guys we will do the full interior as well and please don’t worry i’m not gonna quit on this one or anything like That i will be doing a full build i know a few of you were worried that because it’s such a big build that we’d get halfway through and we wouldn’t finish it i guarantee you guys we will finish this 100 without a doubt um including the interiors so it’s gonna Be a long series but it is gonna be a very fun series guys so with that being said let’s get this started and let’s have a look at the floor plan okay now this big boy comes in at 97 blocks wider by 91 blocks in length now Bearing in mind guys this covers the whole castle here and as you can see it kind of comes diagonally in towards the front here so the front is more narrow than the back of the castle so you’re gonna have a bit of room around the edge All in all i would say give yourself about a hundred by a hundred block space just to make sure you got a bit of room around the edge of the build completely now for the layout guys i know it’s a little bit awkward to see the way it’s Laid out completely but i will go over everything in the video don’t worry about that first of all you can see we’ve got our red blocks these are one block the yellow block is our five block walls okay and this is going to be for the walls around the edge The blue blocks are for parts of the castle and the towers these are five blocks in length as well the green blocks at the front they are gonna be for the towers and they are seven blocks long and the pink block at the very back of the build that little strip there that Is 17 blocks in length now this covers all the outskirts of the build we will go over the layout of the um castle and things like that a little bit later on once we kind of get to that stage but for now i don’t want to confuse you with too many details on Screen so this is just going to be the space we’re going to need for everything now starting in at the very bottom of the screen there you can see the markings for the tower which is the marked in blue the uh sorry not to tell the gate okay this is going to be Marked in a blue as you can see we’ve got the five block gaps around it with the red block towers and then there’s a five block gap in the center of the two which is going to be the gap where you come through the gate now with that being said guys i do Already have the tutorial for the gate which i will leave linked in the description so be sure to follow the tutorial for that gate and place it in this exact location okay now like i said i will go over all of the details of the plan in just a moment but just remember That the gate is at the center at the very front of the build okay guys looking at the front of the castle here you can see we’ve got the gate right in the center here then you can see we’ve got the walls over at the side here now as you can see The pattern for the wall here is repeated we’ve got the five section here for the wall it’s repeated over to this one and then repeat it onto this one we have three sections of wall this side and we have three sections of wall at this side now for the moment just ignore What’s in front here okay this is just a little idea that i’ve been putting together something that we might add later on um but i’m still working on that one so just ignore that for the moment then we have our tower which is seven blocks and then seven blocks again but We’re missing out the corner so we’re going directly over so really this is in a nine by nine block gap but the walls themselves are seven blocks then you miss the corner and then seven blocks now like i said we’ve got two sections of three on each side of the gate here And then the tower on each side which is basically repeated so each side is exactly the same here down at the right side here is the same as the left side but kind of reversed so this wall here is going to come out towards this side and the other wall on The other side is going to go out towards the other side now again we’re using the same wall pattern and it’s going to just be repeated all the way along the castle here as you can see it slightly changes at the top here where we blend in the Houses are gonna be kind of fixed onto the wall okay so as you can see this top part here gets taken away and we replace it with part of the house so down at this side here guys we have got 13 different sections of wall okay Which is the like i said it’s a repeated pattern they are five blocks in length for each one and we have 13 of them going all the way down and each time you build one section you start from the next diagonal corner but just come up Forward or to the right by one side if you’re on the left hand side of the build you’re gonna be bringing it out to the left okay if you’re looking from the front of the build like this at the very back here for the tower we’ve got a tower This tower here is got a five then a one on the um diagonal corner and then we go back to a five block one on diagonal corner and then five so really this would be a nine by not a nine by nine a block space but obviously We’re missing out sort of three blocks on each corner once we get around the back here again we’ve got our wall pattern again staying on the same level okay the floor level is staying on the same level now bearing in mind if you’re building this into terrain where the terrain Either dips down or comes up just build what you can if you if you’ve got a lower ground then just extend whatever you’ve got on them bottom blocks just extend the pattern further down so for instance the polished and the side blocks will be extended down into the Ground the stone will be extended down into the ground and so forth okay just to repeat that pattern and make it look like it blends into the terrain now for the castle at the back here again it’s a very sort of symmetrical design for the wall not the castle just the wall If we go over to the right other side of the castle you can see we’ve got exactly the same thing six sections of wall but this time we come directly back towards the center and then in the center here we’ve got this little piece that sticks out here Okay and this is raised a bit higher than the rest of the walls to give us a little bit of a lookout at the back okay now that we’ve gone over that guys let’s go back to the floor plan and start having a look and getting some of this castle built Okay now before we get started guys i’m going to put all the items you’re going to need on screen now and this is just going to be for the basic castle itself now bearing in mind that this is going gonna cover all the blocks you’re gonna Need for the walls the castle the houses and stuff like that but it’s not gonna include anything for the interior including platforms walkways stairways and all that stuff as well this is just gonna be the blocks to get started so you will need more than this later on But for the moment i’ve only got the count for everything that we’ve used so far now at the front here right at the front section here in blue this is where the gate is going to go now like i said we’ve got the gate linked in the description so make sure You build this right at the center point here and you want to leave enough room so that each side you’ve got enough for three sections of your wall which are five blocks in length so there’ll be a 15 block section and then you’re gonna need a nine by nine section For the tower okay on the corner so make sure you’ve got that space already now obviously i’m not gonna do it i’m not gonna do the gate again because we already have the tutorial for it so i’m gonna go ahead put the gate all in place and then we’re Gonna work from that once we’re done so go ahead click the link in the description for the moment and go back to the gate and get that in place before you do anything else okay Okay i’ve gone ahead and switched back to the default texture pack for the rest of the tutorial to make it a little bit easier to see what blocks i’m using now as you can see the gate is all in place now guys we’ve got it all lined up In the center now the higher level of the gate there the walkway on the gate is low is higher than the walkways for the walls that go around the outside so what we’re going to do is we’re going to start on the right hand side over here And we’re going to come down to the bottom and if we take a look at the wall here on the side we’re going to go to the front of it we’re going to go one two on the third one back we’re going to place five stone blocks across here like this And we’re gonna raise them until they are seven blocks higher okay so two three four five six seven okay let’s do it after all of them Once you’re done you can get your polished andesite and on the corner here we’re going to raise the polish underside up to the top of the wall like this and we’re going to do it on the right hand side of the wall as well that leaves us a three block gap in the Center and at the top here we’re just gonna join them across like this get the polished underside stairs and place an upside down one on the two corners like that and then an upside down one on every other one going across like this then on top we’re going to go ahead and Place two of your polished underside blocks just like so and then an upside down stair in between the gaps of the lower ones put a cobblestone wall in these gaps and then behind the back here we’re gonna get our spruce planks and we’re gonna go one two three and we’re gonna Do that all the way along all five blocks okay now background to the front here at this point if you want to texture these walls you can i’m gonna go ahead and texture it with some stone bricks and a little bit of andesite so we’re Gonna go for maybe that we only want to put in a few we don’t want too many we don’t want it overly textured just a little bit like that and i think that just adds a nice bit of detail now we’re going to go ahead and repeat The same pattern two more times across here but each time we’re going to bring it forward towards us by one block so if we go to where the stone block wall is here we’re gonna bring this one one forward so one two three four five then we’re going to bring it one forward Again again diagonally forward that is and then five more here that means that our polish and the side pillars are gonna go on the corners like this now let’s go ahead and raise this all up and repeat exactly what we have on there okay so we’re gonna go ahead start with A stone and then get in the pillars okay once you’ve got your walls in place we’re gonna go ahead and on the first wall here we’re gonna put a polish on the side slab in the middle the next section of wall here we’re going to put It on the two sides and then the next one back to the middle just to rotate it because in that way we get a little kind of sort of up and down sort of motion on the um on the pillars and it just makes a nice little pan Now around the back here guys i’ve put in the floor as well and remember to make sure you keep the same length as it goes along okay so what you get is that slight curve on the walkway here we will be extending this a little bit When we’re getting the rest of the um the wall and stuff like that but because we’re gonna have houses are gonna join on most of the walls we’re gonna just leave them as they are for the moment and we’ll go ahead and we’ll fill in any Sections of the back of the wall once you’ve got the main buildings in place this saves us having to break any of it a bit later on now i’m gonna go ahead and repeat exactly what we’ve done here over on the opposite side except rather than bringing it sort of um Bringing it outwards from the left-hand side we’ll be bringing it outwards from this one so we will be going out from here i’m going outwards on this side and then that side there you can see it comes out this way so basically just the opposite we’re just basically reversing what we’ve done So let’s go ahead and get that in place okay guys it’s starting to shape up nicely now we’re gonna go ahead over to the right hand side here and we’re going to start working on the tower so the tower is going to be slightly further out than the wall here so if we Come down to where the polish and the side block is we’re going to place one there one to this side here that’s two and then going backwards we’re gonna go three four five six seven leave the corner one and come in one two three four five six seven leave The corner one come in seven all the way down here leave that corner one one here and then bring it all the way down making seven across here now we’re gonna go ahead and we’re gonna raise that up until it is 18 blocks high so the floor level on the Top of it is going to be on the 19th vlog so let’s go ahead and raise it up so we’ve got there one so far 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18. okay let’s raise all of the stone blocks Here until they’re the same height once your walls are all in place we’re going to go ahead on to the very top here and we’re going to put a row of our spruce planks bring it all the way around and then we’re going to go ahead and Just fill the center in as well okay now on each side we’re going to repeat the same pattern for this one what we’re going to do is we’re going to put in a full polished underside block on every other block of the spruce planks in the middle we’re going to Place one underneath those underneath all these blocks we’re going to put an upside down polished underside stair and then in the gaps as well on top of the full blocks we’re going to put another block like this with a wall in the center then we’re going to get a slab and where The stair is here on the corner we’re going gonna put a slab on the top half of the corner like this same on this side and then one two blocks on top one two then we’re gonna put a slab on this side and one on this side like this Okay and we’re gonna repeat that same pattern all the way around the build once you’ve done that on all of your sides like this we’re gonna go ahead over to here so if we look at the front leave a two block gap down and then we’re gonna go ahead to one block away From the corners to go one two on the third one go over one break these two and then on this side here the same thing go one over one two on the third one break those two and put in a polish and a side stair upside down at the top Normal one at the bottom like this just to make two little kind of arrow slits and we’re gonna do that on this side here as well so we’ll do that just in line break these two and these two And then from the front here we’re going to do the same on this side here as well so these two and these two and again make sure you are upside down one and a normal one and the same like this facing to the sides and we’re gonna leave the one behind Because we’re gonna be attached to a bit of a house so we’re not gonna really see the ones on the opposite side okay now at this point here guys it’s a good idea to go ahead and add some textures in here so add in some bricks some polish underside and some normal Landslide and just texture up the wall randomly there’s no pattern to it i would say you want to do about 30 percent of the stone the bricks and the andesite and then just about 10 of the normal anders polished and the side blocks just a few of those scattered Around but make sure the most of it is made up of the rest so we’re going to go ahead and do that all over the block just remember that’s using the you’ve got the main block that is stone so we’re going to now put in a load of Stone bricks a load of van der site and then just a few polished underside okay once you’ve got that all in place guys go ahead and repeat that exactly the same process and do it on the opposite side so as you can see over here we’ve got a One block coming over for the first part of the wall so if we go over to this side we’ll come over to the polysanta side pillar here on the corner place it one in front diagonally here happy one two three four five six seven skip the corner and then go one two Three four five six seven mr corner one two three four five six seven mr corner one two three four five six seven like so and again you’ll raise that to the same height so go 18 up put your layout of your spruce planks on top and then finish the top like that Do the texturing you can always wait and do the texturing later on if you wanted to so you could go ahead and just build it up with stone bricks or stone it’s entirely up to you um but i like to do detection as i go along it does make it a little bit Easier because otherwise the process of doing all of the texture and later on is such a huge book project and it can be very boring doing it all at once but it’s entirely up to you guys how you want to work so i’m going to go ahead And get this second uh this second tower over on the corner here in place and i’ll catch you guys once we’re done Okay now we’ve got our two towers in place let’s go ahead on the left hand side for the moment and right on the little platform here from the corner here we’re gonna leave that one pillar there and right by the wall here break these two here and we’re Just gonna go up by three and across by two to make a little doorway break these two here and then we’re gonna go ahead and put in some spruce planks for the flooring and we’re gonna fill it all on this level but if you’re planning survival guys be sure to go Ahead and light it all up so light down there light up up here make sure you’ve got plenty of lights in because you will get a bunch of mobs spawning otherwise once you’ve got that one all in place be sure to go ahead and repeat the same Process on this side of the build here so we have the same thing for the levels and the platforms and then once you’ve got that all done you’re gonna go ahead and start working on the walls down this side now this side and upside opposite side There are equal they are the same length so we have 13 sections of wall down this side okay and we have the same on the opposite side now obviously if we look from the front of the build here the left hand side each section is going to come out to the Left by one block each time okay so we’re coming out slowly as we head towards the back the right hand side is going to edge out to the right hand side so that it widens out at the back as well and again 13 sections of wall These sections are all going to be done exactly the same as we’ve done at this section from here so if we head round to the back of the wall we do exactly the same thing from the corner leave a two block gap start from the third one and then one two Two three four five raise that to seven blocks high which i believe is there one two three four five six seven there we go raise that to seven go ahead and get in your polished and the site raise that up get the front in exactly the same details and then your Next one will start diagonally over from this one like this and then this one here and then so forth all the way down until you get 13 sections in place now go ahead and do all of that guys repeat it exactly like this so you don’t want no backing you Don’t need to worry about the back because we will do that all later on because we’re going to have a load of houses connected to the walls so go ahead do 13 sections all the way down to the back there and then from this side here 13 sections all the way To the back over there okay i’m going to go ahead and get that all in place and then i’ll catch you guys once we are complete okay guys we’re just gonna do two last little sections of the walnut so we’ve done the side all the way down here and We’ve repeated it on the other side heading out in the opposite direction again repeating that same pan all the way down once we get to the corner here we’re going to go ahead and so we’re right at the back of the castle now where we’ve got this polish and a side Pillar we’re going to come directly out we’re going to put a polished underside there then we’re going to put a common diagonal put one stone block there along with four more to make five here then we’re going to put a polish and a site five stone bricks a polish underside And then here it’s gonna be a little bit different here we’re gonna go five stone blocks like this but this one on the outside edge we’re gonna turn that actually no we’ll leave that stone because we only need to change a few into polish and decide later on Then we’re going to go ahead and we’re going to go diagonal put a polish underside there and then one two oops one two three stone in there okay so you’ve basically got from this corner here polysanta site five stone polish underside five stone polysunsite five stone and just repeated the same Thing all the way around now we’re gonna raise this one until it is 27 blocks high okay but we’re going to head over to the opposite corner repeat exactly what we’ve done on that side okay so we’re going to go polish andersite then we’re gonna put five stone polish under site five stone Polish andersite five stone polish on the side and then here we can put three stone joint up to there but it would make five if we continued it to this corner of the the polish and the site now this side here i’m gonna raise to 21 Blocks and that one over there to 27 blocks i just want them to be slightly different in height so from the front of the build if we’re looking to the back the left hand tower should be 21 and the right hand tower should be 27 it doesn’t matter if it’s a few blocks Higher or lower it really doesn’t matter because only a tower so it can be as high or as low as you guys are wish but the one on the right hand side here does join into the roof of the build like we can see over There so you do want to make sure that it’s kind of at least 25 blocks higher if not higher okay so i’m going to go ahead i’m going to raise these all up and then the stone blocks i’m gonna texture to the same thing here using andesite and stone Bricks inside it and um yeah and i’m gonna do the same over there again so let’s go ahead get that all done and then we’re just gonna put a little bit more of the wall across the back here and i think that’ll wrap it up for um Yeah if you now wrap it up for this episode okay once you’ve got all of your towers both in place now i’ve got the one on this side here at 27 blocks high and the one over there at 21 blocks high now as you can see guys just bear in Mind down here as we fill the wall up on the side here here just remember to keep the polished underside on this pillar here i know there’s two polish undersides next to each other but this one is the corner that will go all the way to the top okay so just make sure You keep that in place as it is Now do the same with the other side as well make sure you keep that one all in place now the last little bit we’re going to do today is going to be just the back piece of the wall here which is just going to finish up this same section of the wall here Now the back looks slightly different to the way we’ve done it before so what we’re going to do is from the inside wall here we’re going to go in by one block and we’re going to go one two three four okay now the reason we do four is because We’re going to be using this little corner piece here as part of the wall so let’s raise this to seven blocks higher so two three four five six seven and then let’s fill that up with our stone we’re going to go ahead polished andesite which is going to be up this side here Then we’re just going to break these ones here and replace those with polished andesite only up to this level low and then join them together then we can go in with our upside down stairs here upside down stairs underneath just like so two blocks on top of the upside down stairs here Upside down stair in the gap and then the wall in the gap like so and then of course the spruce planks we’re gonna put three behind like this Now we’re gonna go ahead and repeat the wall six more five more times making six sections in total bringing it out towards the back of the build now remember here that you’ve got to make sure that you head outwards towards the back of the build don’t head inwards Towards the center of the build you want to bring it outwards and you also want to remember that this section here is only going to have four pieces of the planks here okay we’ll probably go ahead and break in a doorway like this or something in a minute and connect that Up um so now we’re gonna start from down the bottom here we’re gonna put in five this time and then this time we can go polish underside on each side raise this to seven and then finish off with the exactly same style that we’ve been using the whole way through making Sure that you texture it up as you go along if you wish you haven’t got to but um i just think it adds a nice little bit of texture makes the castle feel a little bit worn okay once you finish with that section of wall guys all we’re going to do is Repeat exactly the same process over on this side again so let’s get our stone we’re going to go one block in from this side the first section is only going to be four blocks high and we’re gonna go two three four five six seven let’s fill all that out with our stone Then we’re gonna grab our polish and the site raise that up like so we’re going to break this piece of wool here and we’re going to bring that up as our polish underside bring it across just like so put in our polish and decide underneath there one two three across here Two blocks on top of those upside down ones in the centers here just like this a wall in the gaps around the back one two three one two three one two three all the way across just like so and then for the first piece we’ll put Our slab there we’ll rotate it as we go along and we’re just going to basically repeat that all the way across again coming outwards towards the back of the castle getting in those last ones and just remember guys counting this one we’ve got one and then we’ll have five More sections coming out that will make six in total and we’ve got six over here so these two sections will look very equal with the walls so let’s go ahead and do that texture in the stone and then i think we’re gonna wrap it up there so let’s go ahead and Finish that up all right guys as you can see we’ve actually managed to get quite a lot done in this one episode that’s all of our walls in place which gives us a really good base to start with we still got to get in the tops of the towers um but we Still got a bunch more work to do with all of the building for the houses the walls um all of the groundwork and all of the castle the inside of the castle the layout there’s so much more work to come we’ve got the blacksmith the stables the archery as well they’re all Inside the castle so so many cool things to come guys so as
