Minecraft Mod Review: CAMERACRAFT MOD!

Hey guys antoine i’m here and welcome back to another minecraft video and today i’m going to be showing you guys the camera craft mod for minecraft 1.2.5 so if you guys ever stumbled across a landscape before that you thought was absolutely breathtaking and maybe you

Wanted to take a picture of it and maybe you’re an explorer and you don’t always hang out in the same location all the time well the camera craft mod is going to be for you so essentially what the camera craft mod allows you to do is it

Allows you to take pictures of anything that you want and then it allows you to hang the picture on a wall and as you can see here i have all of the recipes split up between all of these chests here just to make it easy for you guys

So essentially all you’re going to need is you need a camera you need some batteries and you need some film and the film isn’t even a new recipe or anything like that so with the camera this is all it takes in order to make the camera and

Then i can take the camera out here and the way you take a picture is you hit p on your keyboard but i don’t have everything required in order to take a picture yet so obviously the picture was not taken and if you right click with

The camera as you can see uh it opens up this little menu here and i have previously put a battery in here uh so that’s why it says photos left seven but typically this will say zero and what it wants is it wants film and it wants

Batteries and that’s all it takes in order to take a picture so the batteries this is how you make a battery here and when you make this you get a one volt battery which is good for one picture but if you want to crank up the voltage

Of the battery uh you can just apply redstone to it so all you have to do is you take a one volt battery and put it into a crafting bench with one piece of redstone and you’ll get a three volt battery take the three volt battery and

Put another piece of redstone and you go and you’ll get a five volt battery and so on and so forth all the way up to 9 volts so i’m going to go ahead and take the 9 volt battery and use it on the camera as soon as i show you guys about

The film and all you need for film as you kind of noticed when i right clicked with the camera itself is all it wants is it wants the uh the rose dye the cactus dye and the lapis so all i have to do is take it out here and in case you guys

Are curious what the original recipe is in order to get these it’s a rose cactus and lapis so anyways i’ll go and i’ll take these out here i’ll right click with the camera and then if you want you can just shift click and it’ll automatically insert it into the slot

Required so anyways and then i uh let’s just go ahead and let’s uh head upstairs here and let’s take a picture of the awesome landscape that is all around us here let’s do this let’s do this let’s say i want to take a picture you know just right there just that little crevice

It’s all weird and stuff all i do is i hit p and then this and then this is going to pop up choose a name for your photo let’s just say weird water overhang or something like that and then i’m gonna go and i’m gonna hit

Done and it’s going to drop a picture for me and there we go so if i go ahead and i go into my menu here it says photo weird water overhang and as you can see something else i want to point out for some of you advanced users is that this

Has its own uh what is it like as you can see the number is 502 comma 19. so if you were ever to lose this photo but you still had the mod installed all you have to do is type in the command give 502 or let’s see 502 19 here and and you’ll

Get another copy of the photo so if you have like single player commands installed or something like that you will not lose the photo as long as you remember that number because if these things end up getting burned by lava or something like that like if you end up dropping it into lava

You can’t recover it unless you do that so anyways let’s just go ahead and let’s go downstairs here and let us frame our picture on the wall yeah so as you can see here it provides a semi-pixelated version of the picture that was actually taken here um it’s as high resolution as

It can get for you know the camera at hand here or i should say for the painting itself because paintings can only you know be so high resolution so yeah um anyways the only thing that i really wish that this mod would allow you to do is like for example um instead

Of this being just you know a photo that you can hang on a wall it’d be something that you could hold in your hand very similar to the way a map works i think that would be cool even if the map version was a lot more pixelated so

Anyways if you want to remove it from the wall there you go as you can see yeah 502 over 19. it’s the same photo um i could go ahead and i could hang these up here and yeah so anyways i’m gonna go ahead now i’m going to head back

Upstairs here and let’s just take one more picture and then we and then i’m going to do a few more things with the camera just to show you guys how silly all of this can get so as you can see behind this house here there is a jungle

Biome maybe you want you know a jungle biome on your wall or something like that or you just want to take a memory of a you know a certain aspect of really anything i’m just gonna go ahead and i’m going to hit p here and then there we go

A photo op i guess um let’s just name this one jungle there we go and then as you can see in my inventory i now have 502 over 20 and it is jungle so anyways let’s just go ahead and let’s head back inside here and then we will

Hang this one up on our wall and then we’re going to show you guys some crazy things you can do with this camera along with one other feature of this mod so as you can see here there we go so paintings all over the walls here

So one crazy thing you can do with this uh let’s just see here what is the most dominant color in this entire thing i want to say that it’s probably green so what i’m going to do is i’m going to head upstairs here i’m going to right

Click with my camera and take out the green die and that is going to change the colors of the film itself uh or of the picture itself and basically what it does i can still take the picture let’s just say color distortion not even sure if that’s how you spell

Distortion and then uh yeah the photo itself still looks the same but when i go ahead and i go and hang it on a wall uh if i can get inside the door here you’re gonna notice that the photo itself looks all messed up now i haven’t

Seen this one myself exactly how it works yeah okay so um so you can see it’s pretty much lacking the green color it’s very heavy on blue and red which what which is why it looks purple all over i think it would be more interesting though if it if it instead actually

Removed the green color so that instead like anything that was a shade of green was then gray i think it would be kind of cool but it still does provide some neat possibilities and effects for you to do so anyways um the last thing that i want to

Show you guys or i should say the very last thing that this mod has to offer is something called the camera creeper and this is actually noted as a secret of the mod so if i go ahead and i spawn 9000 uh npc not found oh it’s 3 000 wow i was

Thinking over 9000 for some reason spawn 3000 is oh crap stupid creeper get away get away get away ah stupid creeper but essentially what it is is it is a creeper that has a chance to drop anywhere between one and two cameras so what i’m gonna do is i’m going to spawn them

Okay yeah i’m not really too sure how big of a spawn rate that is oh i’m pretty sure actually you probably have to kill the creeper so i’m gonna go and i’m gonna give myself a diamond sword here and spawn one more yeah come at me creeper come at me stupid camera creeper

Yeah there we go so as you can see it dropped a camera just like that but if it does end up exploding it’s exactly the same as a regular creeper so no worries there let’s just spawn like one more yeah let’s see let’s see if he’ll spawn two of them

Or let’s see if he’ll drop two of them and then yeah sometimes he won’t drop one at all oh nope ah stupid cree oop i don’t know where he is there he is no you don’t no you don’t buddy no you don’t okay so just one camera that time so

Anyways i think you guys get the point from here um and i hope you all have enjoyed this mod review and hope you all uh you know find some use out of this mod again if you guys are you know explorers and you like to take pic you

Want to you know take a screenshot or anything like that then you can go and do that and hang it up in your world i’d really love to see this sort of thing in like multiplayer as well but you know i think it’s a really interesting mod

Nonetheless and yes i know that you can actually take screenshots of stuff by hitting the f2 key but i think this is a really you know neat idea and i’m really interested to see where it goes from here so anyways guys i hope you all have enjoyed this mod review my name is
