Minecraft Mods FTB Ultimate – CHARGE PADS !!! [E52] (HermitCraft Modded Server)

Hello everybody and welcome back to another episode on the Hermit craft feed the beast server so I’m actually recording this intro for the second time the first time I recorded it something messed up with my recording the video was frozen and my audio kept skipping

And things like that and it was just bad for like the first minute of that recording so basically what I said was that I wanted to work on a new mod today I want check out charge pads I hear that those things are supposed to be pretty

Cool and I’ve never looked at them before so that is something that I think that we should do today so let’s go ahead and get started and you full cut back into the footage that I had recorded seeing a big guys all of the recipes that you need for the charge

Pads is crazy well I guess the base entry item the charge pad itself isn’t bad at all so let’s go into mod here and let’s look at the charge pads click on that guy yep so it looks like there are three different types of charge pads and

Like I said I don’t know anything about this mod so this is all just best guess here so it looks like this is probably your base one this one has a battery box pressure plate some rubber and some electronic circuits seems like pretty low level entry stuff so the

Crystallizer charge pad looks like the same exact recipe except it has an MFE for the storage so I’m I would assume this is the mid grade 1 and then we have the lamp a tronic charge pad which changes the rubber to carbon plates and it changes the battery to an M FSU and

Yeah I would think it also changed the circuits to advanced circuits so I would think that this right here would be the top of the line the one that I’m going to want especially since I’m using quantum armor so this is the one that I made a pattern for this is really really

Easy to you I mean I already have the pattern for the M FSU the advanced circuits already have the carbon plates pre-made and I just had to create a pressure plate no big deal what I was looking at was all these other ones we have like field expansion modules so I think

That’s probably something I’m gonna want I hope that these things work with the charge pads and I hope these do what I think they’re gonna do because i just spent a bunch of time creating the patterns for all these things now these are where things get a little crazy this

Is the field expansion module strength theta I think this is the biggest expansion module you can give these things I’m FS unit upgrade ha okay so yeah this recipe looks kind of crazy but when you click on this it’s like the top tier requires two of the next teardown

Of these expansion modules so you click on one of those and then this one requires four of the next teardown expansion modules and then the it’s these neutron reflectors which require dense copper plates cold dust pulverized a regular tin dust yeah this stuff I mean there’s a lot of recipes here

There’s a lot of materials involved I’ve never even made these EU detector cables or EU splitter cables before so to create patterns for those there’s a wide band booster module I don’t even know what this thing does by itself but it’s required for this recipe and that requires through the energy crystals

Which is either a diamond or a ruby surrounded by redstone i think i think i’m using the diamond recipe and then these have a couple of proximity booster modules as use these overclocker upgrades enough it’s just like you you think of the recipe looks simple and

Then you try and make it’s like oh I gotta make this as I go okay let’s make this okay let’s make that oh so many patterns and so many things so I did have to create the EU splitter cable and the detector cable pattern one of the recipe

Use as a lever I can’t remember which one these thick Neutron reflectors and the regular Neutron reflectors those are kind of expensive this one uses the dense copper plate which is I actually had to go into greg tagged and make a plate bending machine for the first time

So I hook that up downstairs kind of like all over the place but I want to get this all done so we could just craft these charge pads so yeah I’m a dumb this plate bending machine which really isn’t that difficult to make I don’t think let’s let’s see plate bending yeah

This guy right here four pistons a couple of electronic circuits a couple of compressors and then this conveyor module which it looks crazy you need a plate bending machine to actually make it know if you go to page two you can see there’s refined iron that you can

Use or the aluminium yeah it’s not too bad to make okay so we have all of that stuff out of the way I set up a pattern here to create a copper plate with one copper ingot so we can automatically craft those copper plates on the dense

Copper plates on demand over here in this compressor I have set up a pattern here so we can create the dense copper plate with eight of the copper plates so that is all automated what else there was a recipe somewhere in there that uses that tin dust so I had to let’s see

In the macerator or the pulverizer here i put in a recipe here 110 block turns into nine ten dust and they think that is pretty much all I did for the automation over here and this plate bending machine by default uses 32 EU a tick this compressor no centrifuge I was

Right next to his already using that so I just brought the power over to that machine so that was very very simple to hook up as far as power goes okay so first things first let’s create a lappa tronic charge pad did I not put the recipe pad there it is

Lepa tronic charge pad let’s go and craft that that should take no time at all fairly easy recipe okay but in the meantime was that other item called that was called let’s see charge pads this guy field expansion module this thing is going to be crazy the the biggest

Bottleneck for this I think is those copper plates because that plate bending machine is fairly slow and it requires a whole bunch of those dents copper plates for this recipe so I’m going to click begin and I expect this is going to take about 30 minutes to autocraft everything

But one thing that’s cool about Auto crafting things like this is watching the crafting monitor you see it’s trying to make this thick neutron reflector which requires two of these reflectors which requires all this and these require all these things and yeah so you can kind of see like it craft something

It says oh I need all these materials need craft those and then it just kind of recursively goes all the way back up this list I think that’s pretty awesome so I don’t know what is actually waiting on right now field expansion module doesn’t look like it’s crafting anything

Less my thing is stuck maybe I ran out of space I get a red light over here that might not be good but this thing might not craft all of the way huh okay well we got to copper plates here and a dense copper plate I think I should

Probably try and stop this and try again I know there’s a problem with the applied energetics auto crafting if you try and crab something and the disc gets trying to craft all the items on fills up yeah now it’s going it just stops it’s just like some bug in a plate of

Mystics and I think it’s fixed on a later version yeah it’s doing it again ah that sucks maybe if I take this disc this is probably not a good idea I take that disc and swap it oh that was a little lag swap it with this one maybe can I

Pick that up please okay so maybe that’ll do something different look willfully Oh is still crafting did not tell it to stop that’s probably why okay so it looks like it’s going now so moving those disks around did something and it looks like it is in fact crafting

The rest of the stuff hopefully pulling those discs out while it’s trying to autocraft something isn’t really really terrible to do but it looks like it’s still going so I think we’re fine yeah it’s still making this copper place with a dense copper plates for the new trend

Reflectors for all of this okay so let’s just let that do its thing let’s check out this lappa tronic charge pad now I’m fairly certain that I’m going to need to give it power for it to work so I might run some wire off of this thing over

Here let’s see I think the power wire is running down below well you know what that’s gonna be really high EU a tick isn’t it that’s this thing puts out a 2048 that’ll probably blow this thing up okay well let me put this stuff back

That’s probably not what I want to do I should just make like oh let’s see what can I do oh I think I put that one too far back I’ll fix that later um let’s see so we want small amount of EU going into this thing so I could just make

Like a small solar panel right what else could I do let’s see I think I want to do like a medium voltage converter MV producer Deb like a low voltage one I might have that yeah I see two low voltage producer ok so we can just use yeah we can just go ahead

And use the power converter mod gonna have some of those over here no energy bridge and maybe a steam consumer get very good so we will do this and all we really need for those ok so steam consumer energy bridge lv producer stick that guy right there ok so that turned

Take the wii well at least that I thought that we should need for that so this is no link and all that stuff ok so pro tip the lappa tronic charge pad cannot be picked up with a pickaxe at least not after it’s been charged I

Don’t know what happened but I went to go pick that up and move it along with the low voltage producer I took about a heart and a half of damage even with all this quantum suit stuff on and apparently the lappet ionic charge pad was destroyed so I’m thinking you might

Need to use like a wrench or something on this i don’t know maybe the maybe we’ll find out so let’s put that down what’s happening now still nothing what the heck so i’ll write all right so let me try using a wrench on this thing okay so there’s the item so

If i stick it on top of this maybe that do anything different oh here we go now it’s drying power okay so maybe it was fine before the low-voltage one aha and that is using a lot of power isn’t it okay so there’s a bunch of different options here projector field I’m not

Sure what any of this stuff does but this looks like it has a huge capacity 10 million okay yeah so this is the energy bridge I’m thinking maybe I should get another steam consumer and another one of these tests or acts and stick it on another edge here just to

Provide this thing is more power I don’t know well we’ll just let that thing go for now so in the meantime that emitter thing finally finished up this field expansion module so let’s see what this thing does and apparently I have made each of those for some reason maybe

That’s what happens when you pull out the disc and stick it back in when it’s still crafting so probably don’t want to do that again so let’s see this is the field module so cannot stick it here I can put it there what does that do that

Do anything ok so I’m at 99 ok so now I’m standing on this thing ok so that’s all I’ll get whoa look at that particles everywhere so I wonder hmm now I don’t even know what all these other things are what is this drain conversion module damage conversion module efficiency

Upgrade proximity booster wideband now that looks like you can put a battery in here yeah that’s probably just going to go to this thing so yeah I kind of like this because if I don’t have to take off my gravity chest plate and stick it

In this thing every time and put it back on and then go if I could just stand on this thing and it’s going to charge up all of my armor I think that’s gonna be really awesome so let’s try this out let me take off the solar helmet let me just

Kind of fly around for a bit take some falling damage so everything gets you know some damage on it I guess volume water doesn’t really help does it yeah I want my boots to have all sorts of damage ok so tell you guys what I’m going to fly around for a minute train

We’re out all of my armor and we’ll see like how will that charge pad actually worse ok guys so I’ve wasted about twenty-five percent of my gravity chest plate and a good portion of the quantum suit boots there and a little bit off the leggings so this charge pad should

Have enough power for all of that I would think so if we stand on that let’s see how fast this thing charges up to our stuff oh well actually that’s not very fast now is it I was thinking it was gonna be a little bit faster but

That’s kind of cool though if this thing is just set somewhere you can just kind of EF key on it from a little bit and I don’t know if this thing waste power if you’re standing on it and not using it like if all your stuffs charged up now

There’s also like these up arrow things MF s upgrade i feel like i should put those lepa tronic upgrade kit no this is too mi fess up a great kid yeah I don’t know what that is ok well I tell you guys what I’m gonna research this thing

A little bit and I will be right back alright guys so I did a little bit of research on these charge pads i went to the wiki and kind of found down some more information about them so this projector upgrade that i put in here field expansion module what this does is

When you stand on the pad let’s take this offer and since you stay on the pad and it emits it’s a little bit of particles all around and then you get off the pad and that stops well with the field expansion module if we put that in

Here I believe that’s the only spot this thing goes in is in the projector so when you stand on it now you get the particles really far away but what’s pretty cool is if you’re in this particle area you’re still charging up you don’t have to be standing on that

Pad but once you walk out you hear that pressure plate tick turns off and then it stops emitting any more power so that’s kind of cool like you all you have to do is stand on it to trigger it but then you can walk away and you have

A little bit of room to work so that’s pretty awesome so there’s other upgrades that we can add here and these you can put in overclocker upgrades just like you can with the ic2 machines there’s efficiency upgrades so when you put in the overclocker it charges faster but it

Also uses more power to charge faster so with the efficiency upgrades you kind of counteract the more power that’s using I don’t really know if it’s worth it I mean we’re getting 10 million EU in this thing and I mean we’re basically using on free power not really free but you

Know the stuff that my bees are making all those steam boilers are running making steam so I don’t really care that much if some EU is wasted so if we come in here let’s do some overclocker upgrades so this for okay so yeah these stacks these stack into stacks of 4 and

You can in fact put this money in here and it does affect how fast things charged up so let me go ahead and actually take these out stand on then we’ll put them in and look at the difference so without those in there that’s kind of charging decently fast if

We look at the charge pad itself you can kind of see the EU going down so if we click those in you can see it goes a little bit faster and faster still and yet even more faster but using way more EU to you know charts things up that

Much faster okay so another thing to note about these things is even though I don’t have anything else that needs to charge and standing on it I believe it still does use a little bit of EU but it looks like it’s charging faster right now so maybe actually maybe that’s

Incorrect information it looks like while I’m standing on this it is gaining power it’s not using power so that’s pretty awesome yeah when I get off it i’m still in the charge area but there’s nothing to charge and it clicks okay yeah so these charge pads are pretty

Awesome I still think it’s faster if we go over to the AES you over here and put our grabby chest plate in there I think it only takes like less than five seconds to charge this up but to me it’s like I said it’s one of those things

Like if you walk on in you AFK for a minute or you have to go to the restroom or whatever I think this would be pretty cool I’m think I’m going to hook these up maybe downstairs or something like that just so I don’t have to put these

EES used everywhere um yeah all right guys well let me clean up this and we will take a look at something else alright guys so I moved the charge pad downstairs here and I really don’t know where that should go it doesn’t really look right in the middle of the floor

But that seems like the best place to put it the same time so yeah I’m not really sure but this is the scenario though I’m down here my jet packs only got fifteen percent on it and i’m still trying to do things so i come over here

And i step on this guy and we now have the particle effects everywhere oh is it not staying on okay so yeah still within the particle effects they can try and mess with the machines or whatever I want to do looks like that’s probably how far we can get that’s actually not

Too far away but if I work with this I might be able to mess with these machines while I’m still doing something I don’t know so kind of silly but it is you know a big area where I can kind of walk around in and do things well I’m

Still waiting for my things to charge up so yeah that’s all charge no does this go faster if I only have the jet with a body let’s see seems to be about the same because these aren’t using any the charge so yeah alright so hmm well this is definitely something that I could

Just AFK ads so that’s pretty cool there okay so what I want to check out is a little bit more at the mine factor reloaded items so there are a few more blocks in that mod that we haven’t really looked at before there’s one called a planter and another

One called a harvester now these two blocks work together and I know you can use saplings with it but I don’t know if you can use anything else so the planter isn’t too expensive it’s more of these plastic sheets we’ve already looked at that stuff before the Machine Blanc a

Piston and a couple of flower pots pretty easy and the harvester same thing except shears and a golden axe so yeah not too difficult at all so if we go in here let’s make the harvester I’ve already made the pattern up and there we go and let’s make a planter let’s go

Ahead and craft that up yep awesome so I am curious if you can use other things besides like trees and samplings with these but for now just to experiment with them and see what these things can do I think this will be pretty cool so let’s take a planter right here what

Does the interface look like so it’s got like a crafting grid or this is probably just its internal inventory I think yeah these are like the upgrades that you can do emerald upgrade okay for now I think I am going to just do the default I

Don’t really want it to go crazy so this will plant kind of far away so let us let’s see I need what does this thing needs power yeah just needs energy actually so I can just get it like an energy tesseract oops I need in here

Where is my energy test tracks here we go so let’s go ahead and just throw not right there I want it on top let’s through this right on top here it’s give this receive only MJ one do that okay so this thing’s freaking out idle looks

Like it’s doing it probably four times a second five five tix five times a tick I don’t know with that but that’s cool but it’s going pretty fast anyway okay so let’s do some samplings what do I have you that I want to plant oh let’s do birch actually let me grab a

Stack I don’t know how far away this thing’s got a plant but let’s find out so if I stick that in there it is not doing anything why is that not doing anything is that not how this thing works or does it actually need one of these upgrades in order to do anything

At all hmm ok well experimentation time let’s do an iron upgraded in radius increase of two so iron Rob plastic redstone and a gold nugget that is pretty easy to make yeah i didn’t know i was actually got to make any of those things otherwise i would have made some

Patterns and we could have just done this real fast so let’s see raw plastic nugget i’m sure you have a nugget ship there’s a nugget raw plastic I have this where i can just crap that up real fast okay redstone what else was it i think i

Need an iron you know do some of that let’s see yeah 3 iron 3 r.l plastic okay i think we are good to go so let’s craft this thing up real fast oh there some iron on the top don’t need any more that stuff then gold nugget and then oh I

Need one more piece of redstone by making a pattern there we go okay so there’s an iron upgrade so let’s see if we put that iron upgrade that this planter actually will do something so stick you in there and what happens nothing ok so I’m seeing up arrows here

Hold on a second maybe I’m doing this wrong ok so maybe this actually has to be in the ground pointing up into something there are up arrows on this ok let’s try that so give my siblings and my stuff back sure do ok let’s go into the ground right here should be fine

And maybe one more lower okay so let’s put the energy tesseract well get this thing going receive power MJ one it’s like that in not the harvester we want the planter okay so there’s a planter let’s give it some saplings maybe a piece of dirt I don’t know if I have to

Give an upgrade or not okay so that doesn’t seem to be doing anything so let me go ahead and do that or you know actually what the problem could be maybe it just doesn’t know how to use those forestry samplings okay so have fixed the rain right so maybe it’s a twilight

Saplings that’s the problem let’s see our toilet I went a twilight force to kill the rain maybe it’s the forestry saplings that’s the problem so do I have any regular vanilla saplings I don’t know i think most of my stuff has been converted over oh here’s some jungle

Let’s try jungle ok so maybe get rid of those jungles that I couldn’t do something it’s got the upgrade in it alright guys so a little bit of fail here but not really my fault so if we go in here look at these jungle saplings jungle sampling here you can see it’s

Number 00 06 / three are six colon 3 there’s actually another jungle sapling exactly the same image and this one is a different ID number and this is the forestry ones the ones that I was trying to put into that planter and it just does not work so I went over to spawn

And I grabbed some vanilla saplings from the old 431 farms that just hasn’t set up and yeah let’s go ahead and put some of these in here first of all let’s take that upgrade out because I want to see what this thing can do without any ado

Tional upgrades so okay so without an upgrade it will plant them in a three by three it would have planted here I expected well if I put dirt or something get there we go okay so no upgrade puts in a three by three that’s pretty cool and it replaced them pretty fast so

That’s also pretty cool that should be the last of them awesome okay so with the upgrade I would imagine that expands it out from a three by three to a five by five so that’s a pretty large area and that’ll just continually plant the saplings okay so now we have a harvester

So if we stick a harvester let’s see maybe right here would be on up the other way once more okay so yeah we put a harvester there when you put these saplings in it should put those right like that uh-huh so let’s give this guy some power and let’s check out how this

Thing works it’s another energy tesseract stick you there receive only mg1 awesome she oh this thing’s got some options here okay sheer leaves no or yes I don’t know what that means I don’t know if that means like silk touch them so you can get the leaves or hmm or if

It just leaves them to despawn I don’t know small shrooms yes or no I don’t think we’re doing that and jungle wood yes or no that’s that’s weird maybe this is for like the rubber wood I’m not quite sure ok well let’s leave though let’s leave it all on the default

Settings and let’s see what this thing can do so it has power the only thing left to do is we need to grow a tree so let’s do some bone meal grabs with this well bone meal one of those oh well oh man that thing just eats that tree

Okay so with the shearing leaves no it just destroys the leaves as normal so if I growing up let’s that one let’s grow this tree oh okay so sure leaves yes you actually get the leaf blocks so I don’t want that when we are getting some stuff in your cult sludge look at

That thing go goodness that is tearing that tree apart okay so we got a bunch of oak leaves so that’s awesome what is this would not stack is that different yeah that’s a different data value okay okay so this is pretty cool so we could set up a really awesome tree farm using

This stuff so let’s see there’s a fertilizer block but I really don’t think I would want to provide fertilizer and for just using vanilla saplings and this thing can do everything we need without so I think what we’d have to do is take the saplings and find a way to

Put them back into the planter so we get hook that up through apply it in geist ixora no way to get these saplings to grow faster so I know there’s an item in oh gosh I can’t even think of the name of it it’s got a lily pad lily pad of

Fertility yes this guy this is supposed to make things grow a lot faster that’s planted near it so it requires a lily pad in the splash fertilizer serum it’s not great for crops as long as they like bone meal oh it’s great for crops as long as they like bone meal not for

Human consumption okay so it’s a condensed splash serum and some bone meal and the flash theorem is gunpowder glows to another wart and a vial of ordinary water okay so I got to make some vials so this thing doesn’t look like it has a recipe that I can click on

So if we do vile when you have this thing right here probably all right so just some glass paynes makes a vile and I’m going to need eight of those I think okay well let me go ahead and craft this and we’ll make a lily pad a fertility stick it

Near this and see if it does anything pretty awesome makes these trees grow really fast or what so I will be right back no right so I just when I made a lily pad of fertility not too difficult to do and I don’t know like how fast

This increases the plants around it oh I didn’t even know it gave off a particle effect but yes it does so maybe this will actually make these trees grow pretty fast mmm let’s doing its thing it looks like but yeah I was kind of expecting to go crazy and make these

Trees grow like really really fast but I suppose that’s not how these lily pads of fertility workup maybe it doesn’t work that way it looks like we have three trees grow up same time I have no idea that’s a really weird looking free though that tree just grew and this

Thing is for long crazy look at that and left these leaves over here huh weird maybe that’s just how the range of the the harvester I don’t know how these leaves gonna despawn yeah it looks like they probably are okay well yeah that is really awesome we got some apples we got

Some more of our saplings then throw some of those back in there that’s fine now it looked like when that grew it grew like three trees at once I am curious if when this thing grows again if we’re going to see the same thing or if that was just like a freak random

Chance let’s find out alright well at Regis crew and I kind of made a weird-looking drunk it’s almost like three of those saplings grew at the same time but i don’t know maybe the lily pad a fertility just makes these trees grow in weird shapes really couldn’t tell you because i don’t have

That much experience with this thing but so far so good okay well there’s a tree to disk read normally no freaky looking tree and free to walk in your pick up these saplings now the only thing I’m noticing is that it’s not picking up the saplings there’s saplings that are like

Falling on the ground I wonder if there’s another MFR block that will actually do that there’s gotta be alright guys well I mean this is pretty cool I think we could set up a really awesome compact reform that we get hides somewhere to make all of our wood

Instead of having to rely on redstone and that what is it the the chiddy book at Chi teenis to make more wood I think this would probably be pretty cool and then we could also hook it up into the applied energetics have it you know always supply the planter with the

Saplings and all of the the drops from the harvester would go directly in there oh and this also has an upgrade to so it could make this harvest from we further away it looks like all right guys well that’s awesome I think that’s going to do it for today thank you for watching
