Minecraft’s Netherrack was called “Bloodstone” when it was added. Notch once called Netherrack “netherstone”. Before 1.16, Endermen could pick up Netherrack, but can’t any more. The Education Edition says that Netherrack is made of Silicon, Oxygen, and Mercury. The old Netherrack texture has a similar pattern to Cobblestone. In Bedrock Edition, Netherrack spawns under floating portals, but not in Java Edition. Netherrack can actually be broken quickest using a Golden Pickaxe, which is even faster than Netherite.
