Minecraft News: Nether Update and New Features!

Ladies and gentlemen welcome to this video today we’re going to be talking about all of the announcements at Minecon live at 2019 which were just announced today we have lots of new things to talk about new updates for 1.15 the bees and bugs update as well as

A new theme for the 1.16 update plus some teasers and if you don’t know the 1.16 update has just been announced as the nether updates so we have a lot to talk about let’s go ahead and get into it so let’s first talk about the 1.15 related stuff that’s going to be coming

Soon to a Minecraft near you by the end of the year hopefully and then we’ll get to the 1.16 another update stuff which will probably be seen sometime in spring of 2020 so first of all there was some stuff about bees like beehives and honeycomb and things like that a lot of

That though if you’re following this channel and following the snapshot videos on this channel are you already know about that but there was something new announced and that is the honey block so if you hadn’t guessed by now this is actually a picture of the honey

Block at least one of the texture rings of it looks slightly different in this demo video you’ll see coming up right here from Minecon though so here is that demo video right here and this demonstrates a couple interesting property of the honey block so you saw it right there you actually can’t jump

On the honey block which will make it quite interesting for things like adventure maps and games you also can slide down the side of it you can’t run on it because it’s so sticky so you sort of stick to the block no matter what also it’s been confirmed

That animals also stick to the honey block and the honey block also has some unique properties when it comes to Pistons so you can see here yeah it’s sort of X like a sort of like a slime block in a way in that it can move blocks up and down with it

So a lot of interesting technical applications for the honey block and yeah a lot of interesting games and things you can make with it as well I’m sure so looking forward to seeing that in the bees and bugs update coming soon in minecraft 115 by the way I just want

To point out it’s gonna be interesting to see if the honey blocks actually stick to slime blocks when added to the game I’m hoping they don’t but you can see here they clearly when move pull other blocks so it’s not clear if that will work with slime blocks or not but

Very interested to find that out so now on to minecraft 1.16 news and the big news is is that minecraft 1.16 will be called the nether up so they’re updating the entire nether biome which is sort of the underworld of Minecraft and you can see one of the new

Biomes announced here for the nether update and that is the soul sand valley biome so it’s basically a biome full of blue fog first of all which is kind of unique you don’t usually see blue fog anywhere it’s all red in the nether but that will be in the soul sand valley

Biome you also see blue flames some fossils around there there’s also some gigantic stalactites coming down from the ceiling there’s also a new soul sand block if you look very closely here you can see on the floor that that right there is actually a new type of soul

Sand or a different texture than the regular soul sand which you can see in this image here as we sort of fly over so it looks like there could be potentially a new type of soul sand in this biome as well so that is a pretty interesting biome also one other quick

Note is a bit of a mechanic’s changer but fire has been confirmed that it will be blue if lit on any soul Sam block anywhere in the world not just in the soul Sam Valley biome so blue fire coming to Minecraft near you very soon another new biome for confirmed for the

Nether update is the nether wart forest biome now this comes in a couple different varieties this here is the red nether wart forest biome and as you can see it’s a little bit lively and a lot of the blocks have a very red tint there’s also new blocks in this biome

Itself there’s new plant block called nether funghi which grows here and it looks a little bit like nether wart on this side that might be growing on the trees potentially yeah and here is the blue variant of the nether wart forest biome and you can clearly see a lot of

Different foliage as well some different mushrooms on the ground some different grasses on the ground and yes some various blocks and the trees and in the in the trunks of the trees or what looked to be trees so that is pretty interesting a lot of different variety of blocks there so let’s just

Watch this through one more time to get a better sense of this so here is the red nether what forest again you can notice there are a lot of area khals as well in this red another word for is bio and look at the mushrooms on the ground

There’s at least two different new types of mushrooms here as well as some new type of grass and what looks to be sort of like a red type of mycelium which is kind of interesting and in the blue variety same thing there is sort of

Like a blue carpet to this and yeah the block in the trees you see that is not glowstone so that is actually a new type of block because we saw glowstone in the very start of this clip but yeah so a new like light-emitting block will be

Added to the blue another word forest biome and of course all the fauna and things you see as well but that’s not all they also have new plans for some hostile mobs in the nether one of which is the pig line beast which you can see

Here it’s sort of like a almost evil pig sort of like a giant pig with tusks on it is what it looks like and as you can see here the pig ‘ln beast will indeed be aggressive toward the player it will actually like charge the player and

Attack it with its tusks which is kind of an interesting thing now these pig land beasts will actually spawn naturally in other word forests and will drop a food source and will also be breathable so that you can basically stay alive in the nether if you can somehow farm pig land beasts

Which will be kind of tough because they’re going to be a hostile mob but it should be doable for most players another new hostile mob that is being added in 1/16 are the pig lense so the pig lense are basically a new type of zombie pigmen in fact design pigment are

Actually now going to be called zombified pig lens and the pig lens basically attack you and most other mobs in the nether you can see their attack and wither skeletons right here they also have some rather unique properties for instance if you’re wearing gold armor they won’t attack you but if you

Open a chest nearby they will attack you as you just saw right here you see this guy’s getting attacked quite frequently and it seems like they also will attack the pig ‘ln beasts so these penguins will actually go after the pig land beast and slay it so it could be of some

Potential for some automation in that regard and also a couple other things about the pig ones you will be able to trade with them but not like with villagers it’s going to be more of a bartering system and the Penguins are gonna like sort of toss Utah stuff at

The Penguins and they’ll sort of toss stuff out depending on what you toss at them and also the pig –lens will live in a new structure in the nether called bastions so there will be a new structure in the nether at least one in this coming another update personally

Though i have to say i really dig that gold armor is actually getting a use and that penguins will ignore you if you’re actually wearing gold armor so gold actually getting a use fantastic change now is also a good time to mention that in the 1.16 another update there will be a new

Way to respawn in the nether presumably not using beds because those explode but there will be some way to respawn yourself within the nether they also announced a brand new block called the target block now this block is not really related to anything in the nether

But basically it’s a block which if you shoot it with an arrow it will emit a redstone signal and depending on how close the arrow is to the center of the target that will determine its signal strength so as you can see right here we

Hit sort of off to the side not very strong signal strength you hit it sort of closer to the center a little bit more signal strength than if you hit the bullseye obviously you have maximum signal strength so that is an amazing block in terms of redstone functionality

And the possibilities that exists with that block to do things in Minecraft are truly incredible so awesome awesome block right there the results of the biome vote to determine which pile will be updated next and the winner was the mountains and if you guys recall the mountains were actually the biome which

I’d on doing my analysis seemed to be the one that needed the most updates like it had almost no defining characteristics so it’s great to see that the mountain biome will be updated and in case you guys forgot here is a look at the features that are coming to

The mountain biome so it looks like there’s gonna be some type of powdered snow which will be coming which the player can sort of sink into a little bit perhaps there’s gonna be a mountain goat which could be kind of interesting mountain goats are kind of aggressive in

Real life and you know the head but each other and yeah it could be kind of cool to see and then of course the scenic vistas cliffs and things of the mountain biome itself so they’re gonna update the terrain of the entire Mountain biome so that should be cool to see yet another

Mob was also confirmed to be added in Minecraft 1.16 quarry aka kojo max 99 one of the minecraft developers on the Java team actually said that they are working towards putting illusion errs into raids in some way basically they’ve been working on the back end to make this technically possible for a while

Now and now they are finally ready to do it potentially in 1.16 so that’ll be great to see the illusion er mob actually used in game so in case you’re wondering what exactly is the illusion er this is the illusion er right here so looks like some type of illage or which

Is wearing some type of robe very decorative robe and if I go ahead and switch into survival game mode you should see what his powers are you can see clearly puts you into blindness so we got blindness for about 20 seconds this is just what it currently is right

Now he also has some arrows around here as well and I’m not sure where he’s at let’s see where is he it’s got to be somewhere around here blind this should wear off temporarily there’s some beacons over there yeah so there he is right there and now if I try and shoot

Him let’s see if I can get some arrows I’ll give myself some arrows there we go let’s get myself somewhere there we go okay let’s try and shoot him out a few times you’ll see then sort of transforms into multiple illusion errs so you’re not really sure which one is the real

Illusion er until you actually hit it with a arrow when it comes back into its primary form but there you go that is the illusion right there so quite a formidable mob potentially coming to a 1.16 near you there were also a bunch of other things announced

At Minecon and some very exciting things at that so let’s start off by talking about minecraft festival so minecraft festival is essentially a return of the old style of Minecon that is an in-person sort of convention style celebration of minecraft that’s going to be happening next year September 25th

Through the 27th 2020 in Orlando Orlando Florida this is gonna be awesome this is gonna be something that has like exhibits it’s gonna have exclusive gameplay it’s gonna have tournaments entertainment merchandise panels there’ll be youtubers there they’ll be Mojang developers there and it should be an awesome time there hasn’t been an

In-person Minecon like this since 2016 and Los Angeles which yeah I went to the 2016 one and it was a blast it was an absolute great time so hopefully this is very similar to that and this is sort of the return of the old Minecon which we’ve been wanting for many years now

Since they started doing just the exclusive livestream so to have an in-person event is very very good I think for the game and gonna be awesome for the community as a whole there are also some great additions to the bedrock edition of Minecraft which were announced including things like

Scripting in the bedrock engine itself so for instance you can use the script to create your own weapons and tools to do things that wouldn’t otherwise normally be possible in the game so that is very cool they also have data-driven player rendering which means you can sort of use scripting tools and this

Data-driven player rendering to change you like the skins on the player and you can basically replace animations or particle effects or add custom render effects to players in the game so that’s also nice there was also some news regarding minecraft realms minecraft realms is basically going to become

Realms plus where you get not only the realms server that you and your friends can play on but also some additional marketplace content like free Maps and free skins and stuff so that was pretty cool here there was also a sneak peek at the opening cinematic for Minecraft

Dungeons and they showed some gameplay in it as well and minecraft dungeons is a new game totally new game that’s coming out soon in 2020 it’s gonna be out on PC it’s gonna be on xbox gonna be out on switch and a bunch of other platforms so I’m really looking forward

To playing this game potentially and yeah this sort of demo really did not disappoint so looks really fun and yeah can’t wait until it’s released moyen also announced that minecraft Earth the augmented reality game which you play with your phone and or tablets which basically places minecraft creations in the world

For you that will actually be coming into early access next month which is October 2019 so that was great to hear it’s gonna be coming out very soon because I know a lot of hermits have played that and yeah it seems like a great game it seems like a lot of fun

And yeah that’s coming out next month so exciting news there there were a bunch of other things announced at Minecon 2019 including things like a new Minecraft board game called builders and biomes there’s a new character creator coming to bedrock edition as well as minecraft Earth and there’s also the

Founders Kate pack which is available on a Minecraft Marketplace now so definitely a lot of cool stuff to check out I’ll be providing a link in the description to my graph net and an article about everything that was announced at Minecon live 2019 as far as the updates go I
