Paul Spencer reveals Sony held back PS5 Dev kits ahead of the console’s launch and this put us behind on our development for Minecraft on PS5 the FTC says Microsoft fought back by not providing a Minecraft PS5 optimized version this is a tweet from Tom Warren Who is a part of The Verge we know console Wars have been going on for the past two decades whether you play Xbox or Playstation both Microsoft and Sony have been continuously fighting and because they’re fighting players who just enjoy Minecraft whether you’re on Xbox or Playstation or actually Suffering if you are a console gamer you gotta watch this video the day in this video I want to talk about this war between Microsoft and Sony I want to talk about Minecraft on Xbox series X and S and also play PlayStation 5 we’re also going to be talking about why RTX Is never going to be happening for Minecraft PlayStation 5 and it’s highly likely not going to be coming to Xbox series X and like I said The only person who is currently suffering is the consumers who just enjoy Minecraft now here is a fun fact whether you own a PlayStation 5 or an Xbox series X or S did you know that the version of Minecraft Bedrock Edition that you are playing is actually a backwards compatibility version from the previous Xbox Minecraft Bedrock Edition is actually not optimized for PlayStation 5 or Xbox series X for those of you who Are not in the loop there is currently an ongoing court case with Microsoft who are currently fighting with the FTC which is the Federal Trade Commission because they are currently trying to acquire the Activision Blizzard for 6 39 billion dollars now the FTC is kinda trying to prevent this because they Don’t want Microsoft and Xbox controlling the video game Market or something along those lines now the tweet that Tom Warren did post this is the article that you can see here it is currently live updated so I’ll leave it down below it’s definitely fascinating and again there was information Throughout this court case and this article that is referencing Minecraft you really don’t get to see what happens behind closed curtains but it looks like PlayStation and Xbox are really at War now in this article and during the court case this is what was said Sony held Back PS5 Dev kits for Microsoft and Minecraft Minecraft still doesn’t have an optimized version for PS5 and it appears that Sony’s decision to hold back sending Microsoft PS5 Dev kits ahead of launch is why Sony was reluctant to shippo’s PlayStation Dev kits it put us behind on the development Of Minecraft PS5 says Spencer the FTC says Microsoft fought back by not providing an optimized version for Minecraft PS5 nearly three years later I already told you that but at the bottom it says there is a version of Minecraft that runs on PS5 says Phil Spencer but this isn’t an optimized version it’s Simply the PS4 version of the game there isn’t an Xbox series s slash X optimized version of Minecraft either this whole war between Xbox and Playstation I find it so fascinating because this isn’t anything new it’s definitely not new in the Minecraft Space cast your memories back to when Microsoft and Mojang and Minecraft announced Bedrock Edition The Better Together version where you could cross play between iOS Android Windows Xbox and switch PlayStation we’re not on board now they made the whole entire excuse that it was to do with these mine coins there’s some kind of different currency available on Playstation but in Reality they didn’t want to have Microsoft accounts and achievements on their platform and I don’t blame PlayStation for that right Microsoft Sony Xbox PlayStation they are direct competitors and in my eyes I feel like Sony would see this as a sign of weakness in fact Microsoft owning Minecraft is quite problematic for Sony And Playstation remember Bedrock Edition didn’t come until months if not years later I can’t believe we’re still here in 2023 and both PlayStation 5 and series X doesn’t have an optimized version of Minecraft Bedrock Edition anyway going back to the first tweet that we talked about from Tom it was Quoted by another person called John who is another writer for a different company he said does Sirius X slash S have an actual optimized version I can’t find anything suggesting that a proper series X slash S version was released making this argument over lack of a native PS5 version extra weird well the Article we’ve just read actually says that Xbox x and S doesn’t actually have an optimized version but I can tell you because I did cover it in a separate video Xbox did get some form of performance enhancements however it’s not running a native version built for Series X slash S it’s actually a ported version from the previous consoles the same way that the PS5 version is ported from PlayStation 4. and I will show you the evidence because like I said I made a video on it going back to October 4th 2022 it was the Minecraft Bedrock version 1.19.31 changes as of October 5th 2022 players on Xbox version of Minecraft will begin receiving an update that improves game performance alongside a few other changes and then it says you can read the FAQ now if you go over to the FAQ which you can see on screen Right now there is a whole bunch of information on how you can check your version you’re on if you have the optimized version I think it was over one gigabyte in size it is somewhat an optimized version more of a performance enhancement rather than a technical optimization but it did actually happen So in a way the argument that Phil Spencer has towards Sony and Playstation about them withholding consoles so they couldn’t improve Minecraft it’s kind of a petty argument because the series X isn’t also an optimized version now I’ve had a lot of questions over the past couple of months and years about RTX What actually happened now we we don’t know Microsoft and Minecraft and Mojang they have a habit of not sharing information if something’s not gonna happen they just try not to talk about it and hope that the community will forget about it which is something we never forget about right especially Something that awesome for Minecraft anyway going back to John’s original tweets John received a tweet from John who said was it their talk of an Ray tracing version for series X at one point now John said I’ve personally played a path traced version of Minecraft on a series X now when all Text was announced the gameplay you see here which was recorded by Austin from this is YouTube channel the link is down below he actually got to play Minecraft Ray tracing as a technical demo so on the series X as for why this was canceled and never put forward for the Community is still a mystery to this day in fact Minecraft Ray tracing was actually used as a marketing tactic from Microsoft to sell the Xbox series X as for the gameplay you can see it was recorded like two or three years ago it’s not going to be coming to series X It’s definitely not going to be coming to Playstation 5. considering it’s still using an outdated version of Minecraft Bedrock Edition I think the whole Ray tracing in RTX thing for Minecraft is well past its sell by date there is rumors at the moment that Minecraft and Microsoft are testing shaders or Minecraft Bedrock Edition Is there going to be gate kept for both Xbox and windows we really do not know but it’s quite sad because of this whole competitiveness between Xbox and PlayStation Sony and Microsoft it’s causing the consumers to suffer we don’t get the best of Minecraft we don’t get The objects Ray tracing we don’t get what we should be getting when it comes to a game that is worth billions of dollars and I actually feel quite sad for people who strictly play on the console versions because they’re suffering we know how bad Minecraft Bedrock Edition is on Nintendo switch It’s suffered for a very very long time and recently with this information we actually get to dig deeper into why these versions are actually suffering and if my words not enough for you we did actually get the confirmation from the Minecraft Twitter account that otx is not happening and it’s not coming to Series X going back to one year ago there was a beta preview version released that let players access Ray tracing capabilities on a series X that was a mistake and this is what Minecraft had to say about it the previous Minecraft preview build available to Xbox insiders inadvertently included Prototype code for Ray tracing support on Xbox consoles this early prototype code has been removed from preview and doesn’t signal near future plans to bring Ray tracing support to consoles and when we’ve seen that tweet it was just dead in the mud so Ray tracing for Xbox Minecraft is just never gonna be Happening but yeah I just wanted to share this video because of this whole competition between console Wars Minecraft players are suffering all around the world this is part of the reason why most of my Minecraft content is typically on a PC now and I was a dedicated Xbox player anyway if you have Any information about this or you want to talk about this let’s talk about it in the comments section I’m curious on your opinions especially if you play Xbox series X or the PlayStation 5 version have a wonderful day Video Information
