How to OP someone on your Minecraft server
Hello, everyone, and welcome to another UltraServers YouTube video. Today we will be teaching you how to give someone the OP role on your Minecraft server. We’ll be teaching you two ways to do this, and I’d also like to go over the cautions and reasons for doing this.
What is an OP role?
The OP role, short for Operator, is the highest role in the game, granting the player the ability to run commands even when in survival mode, as well as the permission to ban and change other players’ in-game options. However, it’s important to exercise caution when assigning this role, as it essentially makes the player an administrator of the entire server.
How to OP someone on your server
To give someone the OP role on your Minecraft server, you can do so through the UltraServers Inventory. Simply scroll down and click “Manage” on the server you would like to give the person OP on, ensuring that the server is running. Once the server is up and running, go to the Console tab and type op [player’s name] to grant them the operator role. If you need to remove the OP role from a player, you can type deop [player’s name] in the console.
OP’ing someone in-game
If you prefer to OP someone in-game, you can do so by typing /op [player’s name] in your server. This method is just as simple and grants the player the same administrative privileges.
Final thoughts
It’s crucial to exercise caution when assigning the OP role to players on your Minecraft server. Only give this role to trusted individuals, friends, or those you know well. Remember, the OP role essentially makes the player the admin of your entire server, so be mindful of who you grant this level of access to.
And there you have it! You now know how to give someone the operator role on your Minecraft server. Thank you for watching, and we hope to see you in the next video. Happy gaming with UltraServers!
