Full 28 seconds slower with a 147 which we thought was pretty close to the Limit needless to say we were all wrong I’ll talk more about the Run later in the video but first we must set the stage I’ll cover the history of this category then talk about how these crazy runs

First for anyone who is really unfamiliar what does it even mean to speed around Minecraft if you already know all this use the timestamps while Minecraft is a Sandbox game you can reach the credits by killing the ender dragon so how do you do that well the Ender Dragon resides in a

Separate Dimension called the end to get to the end you have to find an End Portal which looks like this these are found in strongholds underground structures that generate in the Overworld to activate this portal you have to fill in the 12 slots shown here with Eyes of Ender

Crucially they each have a 10 chance of already being filled in to get isovender you have to get blaze rods and ender pearls and combine them these can both be found in the nether which is yet another dimension to get to the nether you have to place

10 obsidian blocks as such and then light them with a flint of Steel while there are ways to bypass the use of obsidian these aren’t used in setting speed runs which is what this video is going to be talking about now that’s a nice transition into the next paragraph of the script the

Category at play Minecraft has no shortage of categories to speedrun there are over 100 just on the main board but the main ones are random seed glitchless and set seed bushless these are then further divided into five more categories each based on the version of the game you’re running these

Categories are extremely different and require very different skill sets to master when creating a Minecraft world of speedrun you can either paste a world seed into the seed box or leave it to be random on random seed you obviously don’t know anything about the world you’re in and the challenge is to use

Your decision-making skills to find the best way to Route the seeds you’ve rolled there’s also the challenge of knowing when to reset because your world just isn’t good enough in the setting category though you can input a seed that you already know everything about and run it to the best of your ability

This eliminates all decision making and resembles a lot more classic speedrunning game where it’s all mechanical ability and if it’ll look but what’s the best seat to speed around while the fastest seeds aren’t just kind of good they’re ridiculously fast there are 18 quintillion seeds to choose

From so the fastest ones are going to be insane so what do these look like okay to answer this question I found the accurate hopefully 1.9 plus SSG world record progression sheet by the way 1.9 plus is the game version so what was the first 1.9 plus SSG world record

Well apparently it’s a run of 52 minutes 15 seconds by map 4. and um he used PewDiePie’s Minecraft let’s play seed needless to say this seed is not optimal so we’re just gonna skip it I guess nobody else has tested an SSG run for 193 days because this record stood for that long

However on February 1st 2020 SSG started really gaining some traction Um hi it’s me from the future my progression sheet only uses versions 1.9 plus so they were a lot of SSG runs before that they were just on earlier game versions and I can’t be bothered rewriting my whole script so just roll with it I don’t know Geo Square would be

The one to beat it with a time of 1058. the big difference in this front is the end portal remember earlier in the video I said that each end portal frame had a 10 chance of already being filled in when the player arrives well what if they were all filled in

The odds of this are one in a trillion while this seems impossibly unlikely there are way more than trillion Minecraft seeds so there’s a lot of seeds to choose from that have field and end portals software has been developed to find these seeds and the seed Geo Square used

Was one of them this means that this run didn’t use the nether at all since for now the only use for the nether was to get blaze rods and later ender pearls since these are only used in random seed runs the nether was nowhere to be seen

In geosquares run apart from the fact that it was a 12i the cgo square youth wasn’t very good he had to run really far to get to the stronghold and he also didn’t one cycle the Ender Dragon I don’t know if anyone unfamiliar with Minecraft speedrunning is still here but

For those who are basically beds explode in the Nether and End when you try to sleep in them as there is no day and night cycle this can be abuse to kill the Ender Dragon in under one minute while the conventional way which is also the one Geo Square used takes several minutes

One month later the record had been lowered to 717 by honey in May though a new faster seed was found and this coupled with the use of one cycling led to a huge rush of World Records by crafter dark Geo square and ontricates every few minutes or so on

Average it’s random the dragon perches in the middle of the end as it’s flying down you can explode beds under its head which does two things first it deals a ton of damage to the dragon and second it bumps it up just high enough for you to do it again

While cycling at the time used a lot of bets often seven or eight modern Runners can do it in four though back to the timeline of World Records just four days after the first sub-7 using a new seed another new seed was found this one was dubbed the desert seed due

To the biome that the player spawns in this sea changed everything as it was the first to use the nether remember earlier when I said the nether wasn’t useful in SSG well it isn’t if you’re looking for blaze rods and ender pearls but the nether has another use

Every block you travel in the nether is eight blocks traveled in the Overworld so if you build another portal Run 100 blocks then build another one you will end up 800 blocks away from your original portal in the Overworld strongholds are generally very far from the spawn point so if nether could be

Used to cover the distance faster it would make a huge difference and that’s exactly what the desert seat was about so what’s the fastest way to enter the nether well there’s a few ways but the fastest is to build another portal using 10 obsidian pieces and what’s the fastest

Way to get 10 obsidian well actually it’s 20 obsidian because you need to build two portals one to enter and one to exit but you can find obsidian in various chests and various structures the best way to get lots of obsidian though is through blacksmith chests and villages

In 1.14 which is the version used for the seed blacksmith loot was randomized every time you load into the seed so the seed was found to maximize the odds of getting 20 obsidian this seed had four sources of obsidian three blacksmiths and one chest inside a nether fortress which always contains four obsidian

Getting the obsidian isn’t too unlikely but it’s definitely resettable for using the seed in the following month or so the record would go from the first sub-5 Minecraft speedrun ever to a three minute flat run it was looking great for SSG and at the time everyone thought so too but in

November last year one of the top Runners at the time Mike Revenger was exposed for cheating basically all of his fronts in his two year long career so the world record holders at the time notably rattles and Empire kills 702 didn’t have proper credit for holding the world record

Beginning of the year this category literally had one completed run at 52 minutes and I hope that shows you how much this category changed in just nine months two months three new seeds and 14 World Records later the record was sitting at a very respectable 225. actually I should mention something

About these seeds they were all played on the newly released version 1.16.1 the reason for this is that blacksmith loot was standardized in this version so that if you reloaded the same seat again you would have the same loot this eliminated having to reset verbsidian and increase reset efficiency

Dramatically the last of the three seeds might be familiar the community calls it the Dolphin seed as getting its Dolphins across this Water Gap speeds up the Run by quite a lot also the period in late 2020 was when Runners started grabbing only four beds as grabbing more was just a Time loss

That could be avoided by one cycling better one cycling had gone from using up a full hot bar of eight or nine beds being done in four beds with relative ease and a bit of luck I think most people would consider the dolphin sea to be the start of quote modern SSG

Obviously it’s not the fastest hit anymore but the general root of an SSG run has not really changed since then well up until one shot but we’re not up to that bit yet 2021 came and during that time two new seats were discovered well more than two

But two that were faster than the previously fast ones these seeds were called the Taiga seed and the gravel seed first ran by feinbergen entrance the real masters of SSG at this time were magnetic mini and Rayo two Runners with completely absurd mechanics although even though they were this

Tight in the race nabiyaki and Empire kill 702 both got a world record of their own as well by this point SSG was extremely optimized and in August of 2021 rail got the first sub 2 Minecraft speedrun and this was considered by literally everyone to be the last minute

Barrier this game had to offer the end split by itself was about 40 to 50 seconds so how on Earth could the whole run be under one minute anyway not much seems to change for the first half of 2022 even though the record was this tight being beaten by a

Mere tenths of a second normally the final record on the seed by Rayo still beat the old world record by almost two seconds however this seed was not fun to run to enter the nether you need to light your portal with a fluent steel and the

The vine seed including the first sub 150. five records were set by magnetic maybe three by rayon and hanabian Empire kills each got one in fact the day before the legendary 109 with one shot was completed magnetic maybe got the very final world record on the vine seed a

147.08 for over three years now the basic route of a Minecraft SSG speedrun has stayed exactly the same frankly nobody thought anything would change until one shot came around but well one shot did eventually come around and nobody was expecting it so now without further Ado it’s time to

Talk about one shot what is it how did it come about and all that actually before we get into how it works it would be a disgrace not to mention the people who made it possible first craster dark for coming up with the idea and theorizing that it might be a viable strategy

Next circuit for developing it further and finding a setup that works in SSG I think your channels how a lot of people learned about the strategy third Kama for being the first person to use it and run and last how to be an enslow forgetting these insane runs also thanks to Hanabi

And the Gang at Java chord for helping me understand this mess of strategy now then it’s time to explain it one shot is a strategy where instead of collecting beds in the Overworld then using them to one cycle the dragon you just use one bow and one Arrow

As many comments on these records have correctly pointed out arrows do not One-Shot the dragon usually so you have to change how you do it now if the details get very complicated very fast but the way I understand how it works is that the damage an arrow

Does is linked to its speed the knockback you get from the dragon is linked to how close you are to a very specific spot on the dragon in the dragon I don’t know but the point is that you can shoot your arrow at this point and it will start to go really fast

And since it’s going really fast it’ll deal a ton of damage if you do it correctly and get the luck required then you can take away all 200 Health points that the dragon had in one shot so let’s examine the C that they found first thing is it’s on 1.12 which is a

Pretty old version for a few reasons first it’s the only version right now that has a one shot setup that you can actually do in a run and second well you’ll see this seat is actually not that new it was used for glitch 1.12 previously it

Spawns you on top of the stronghold and I know I said before that the stronghold is always far away from Spawn but in 1.12 there’s something called spawn displacement spawn displacement is when for whatever reason the game spawns you thousands of blocks away from coordinates zero zero in 1.16 this

Doesn’t work but in 1.12 it does so here’s the route spawn in dig a few blocks here and Bam you’re in the strongholds but watch out because you’re gonna die if you don’t land in the squab wipe for some reason Landing in the cobweb takes away all

Fall damage this jump is actually kind of difficult but after some practice you should be able to get it down next grab the sword from this chest now here’s where the first annoying part of the Run comes in you need a bow and arrow to do one shot

And the fastest way to get those is by killing a skeleton according to the Minecraft Wiki a skeleton dropping a bow is an 8.5 chance it doesn’t say about the arrow but from personal experience you have a pretty high chance of getting it so not only do you have to find a

Skeleton in this cave or in the stronghold but it has to drop a bow and an arrow now that that’s done just enter the end through the field and end portal according to the paste files channel for this you can enter the end about every 30 minutes or so

Not bad but on the find seat it can be every minute and a half or something now what are the odds of hitting a one shot well I don’t know but I asked tanabi and he said that Kama said that it’s a 1 in 53 chance to get quote high damage

So assuming that means 200 damage every time it should take about 26 hours straight of running to get a successful one shot ouch that’s quite a while but yeah Hanabi did it in one Stream So now without further Ado I think it’s time to just watch this run I mean it’s

So short that we might as well so without further Ado this is the new Minecraft speedrun world record Foreign Day day Just 24 hours after this run Angela did it as well she did it two seconds faster though setting a new world record now where do we go from here well although the odds of a successful one shot seemed terrible it’s already been done at least three times

At time of writing Hanabi got his run two days ago so far apart from hanabian enslow rattles also had a successful one shot it just didn’t beat the world record so Minecraft speedrunning is not dead as some have suggested what I think will happen is more people

Will run the seat and the record will lower enslow’s record won’t be the last in fact by the time this video is out there’s a good chance it’s already been beaten what about sub 1 well although it may seem hard to save a full seven seconds

On the seed the first ever run on the vine seed that I remember seeing was 206 by Hanabi the record is now 19 seconds faster so I think someone is definitely within reach when will it happen who knows put your predictions in the comments I really hope you enjoyed this video if
