Hey everyone and welcome on back to Minecraft today we are tackling a brand new project the last little while we had been working over in the city back over in that direction right there across our farming region which you can’t quite see right now due to the render distance but Today we are up here in our custom biome of our custom mountain range working on all these hills and everything like that and today we are going to be doing something that has been long long requested on the channel and that is a survival terraforming guide as you can See I have a bit of experience with the topic of terraforming in survival all of this mountain here is built in survival by hand you can see some of it being built up over there this entire terrain we’re standing on here is built by hand as well we are Currently 95 blocks up into the sky so that means all of this is custom terrain and there’s a giant giant dark pit of monsters down below us as you can see it all drops off right over here what we’re gonna be tackling today is we are gonna Be tackling working in this area right here basically I want to show you guys how we create something like this how we define what a river would look like while we’re up in the sky and basically how we were gonna do the planning out to get something like that right up there Connected and easing down into an area of default minecraft terrain so if you guys are excited for that one please hit the like button down below meets a heck of a lot to me let me go ahead and get all these trees cleared out in this area Down here so we have a bit more space to work with even just clearing out this tiny area right there we just did that Hill in oh my gosh we got a lot of wood look at that thing we got almost a full single chest full of wood there which is crazy Now what we’re gonna be working on next is worth bringing in the blueprint as our end goal is to make something more or less like this guy over here we need to be able to get a blueprint set up so that we can do that typically how I do These is I like to roughly outline the border of where all of this stone cliff face is going to be and then after that we’ll come back in and build a border for a general outline using some guiding points in just lot general lines to predict what that general shape of our Hill the area is gonna be looking like and how that’s going to merge up into the mountains so basically what we do here is I thinking that inside this area will have it come out here three blocks and then we’re gonna have this area you come up a Little bit so right now we’re at four or five blocks right there and then we could probably bring it back here again and do one two and three and I’m thinking we bring this one up and do another two blocks right along there then maybe stretch this gap there’s not A whole lot of rhyme or reason to where this is going basically the idea here is make sure that it looks natural there’s not too much going on with it well still having a lot of height variation to this we do want to have this going up and Down even it’s just a few blocks out of time the entire time we’re going throughout then one very very useful thing as you are going throughout this is if you need to go down a block just bring some water with you so you can quickly jump down go like that place That next block in jump back on top and get your water then you don’t have to worry too much about like pillar endowment stuff it saves a bunch of time so I’ll tell you guys what we do need to figure out a few different ways that we’re gonna be working throughout this Place right here so let me get this front general line in here and I’ll be back taking a step back from our build now to look at the line that we’re able to create here we can see using our old Optifine zoom that this comes up here Comes out towards us a little bit a little touch on that guy here in a second and then we drop it back down level this out and keep it going and have it sliding back in towards the mountain then here at the base I decided to bring it coming back out towards us So you can have a bit of a spill off area or the base of where it’s merging down into our Minecraft terrain becomes much much more evened out we are going to be eventually doing some work down in this area so I’m not too worried about That one for now now what I wanted to focus on was coming up into this area where we have this bit of dirt right here if we can land it nailed it perfect and what we’re gonna be doing is working on creating some more guidelines and outlines of our general vicinity here so What I like to do personally is I like to create almost like diagonal lines as we’re going throughout these areas so that are not quite straight now I find that that forces myself to create something more naturally basically the idea is that we’re gonna create a few lines here as we’re going throughout That will force us into creating the general shape of the terrain off of these later on which i think is a great idea however I know this one will take a long time it’s a bit hard to see what we’re doing here so I think with that we Kick this off into time-lapse mode and with you guys one thing I want to quickly mention while we’re going through this time-lapse is that you’re gonna see me placing too thick dirt paths this isn’t just so that you guys can see this more easily it’s actually So that when we come back in here and modify the terrain later and fill in the gaps in between all these quadrants it really allows us to make adjustments more easily I typically actually do too thick dirt blocks around the entire area where I’m terraforming but I think in Order to save some dirt outside of our outline here we’re just gonna be using one block thick because normally I like to use the two so when you come back in with texture variation and the works later on you can add some gravel and stuff more consistently and you don’t Have to worry about when you break that one block of one causing all the lining updates melt down below which can cause a bunch of leg and two you don’t have to worry about gravity when you accidentally break a block super fast with your shovel and follow the way Through anyways what we’re getting on to in this time-lapse is you can see that we’ve added in a lot of areas breaking this area up into a bunch of smaller sections that we can really focus on all of those smaller little details in there instead of worrying about that giant Just general idea of where our terraforming structure is right now this whole landscaping project that we’re going for we can easily split it up into smaller sections and tackle one section at a time instead of worrying about this massive project in front of us which is huge for terraforming projects because We’re going from Hills to cliffs to mountains in here there’s so many different moving parts that it’s easy to get overwhelmed so breaking up into these smaller sections is really really useful for making this a manageable project but as we’re up here in the mountains now you can see that we’re Bringing in a few details trying to bring these Peaks together so that our top looks good and then we can more easily touch on the base here in a second and I’ll be explaining what we’re gonna be doing that there but with that I think that’s a pretty good idea of What the outlines looking like so let’s jump back into the world to quickly give you all another aerial view a soar flying around this area you can see that the blueprint here that we were able to make with all of these lines actually gives us a really good idea what the General look of this whole terraformed area will be at the end of it I’m struggling for words here but I think this will be pretty freakin cool the mountains here are giving me a bit of a struggle here so I think we’re gonna focus now on this lower area because Inside of this area here if I haven’t mentioned it so far I want to be throwing a quarry so we’re gonna make the mountains look like they’re coming down very very sharply because we want to make it look like they have been mined away and that the people working in our City over in that direction have been tearing down the mountain a bunch so that they can get the stone to build up all the castles and everything like that so this part of the mountains here is meant to be looking all broken and shattered so we’ll be getting to that One here in the future well come on back to first-person mode I think this is a bit of a different perspective of how everything is looking for our new landscaping project I’ve been having so much fun figuring this one out it’s been really cool messing with some terrain Again and figuring out what can really work well for us here slowly but surely our grass is growing out over all of these dirt pathways and cosway’s that we have worked on in the mountains from this angle here are actually looking pretty epic as well I’m excited to get Everything figured out in there and get our quarry in place back there which will be coming eventually today what I want to focus on for the rest of this episode is finishing up the lower area here the first thing we need to tackle on that however is gonna be working over In this area where we have the stone line going we need to get our cliff face in here because if we fill in all the dirt above here it’s gonna be rather dark down there which means building a cliff face would be rather dangerous with a bunch of mobs All over the freaking place now what we can do here luckily is that we have some Creek cliffs already previously made for us so we can take a look at these and see how they were created these ones roughly what we’re gonna use now is we’re just using stone and we’re just Using dirt we will come back in later and add in our detail bits however taking a look at this now we can see that basically the stone croppings down here come down to a straight line and then they come back up and go outwards which is something we can totally Achieve here because we have all this empty space everywhere what I’ve been messing with over in this area though is that instead of having them always just going all the way forever back is that when it gets to be pretty tall roughly beyond like eight blocks in Height it starts to come out again because I think that’ll look a lot more natural and it’ll really help when we come and bring a very cool waterfall feature into this area which we’ll be focusing on pretty soon so anyways what we need to figure out we’re doing for This one I think we actually are going to be terraforming this area out down here eventually so for now let’s just get ourselves a dirt line up to the top I think just doing these little bits of detail where we’re bringing the dirt and up here so it’s kind of coming up Into this area will help a lot with making sure this area is a lot more interesting and it’ll be better than the Train just going from stone cliffs down into default minecraft terrain if we’re bringing a smooth out area I think that’ll help with our cliffs being a Little bit better as well then we do need to come up here a few more blocks maybe right like that I think that puts us directly beneath it so maybe we actually start right here bring this one up and then bring you up two blocks as Well maybe we go this guy three blocks right here and that actually puts us directly in the top bit so maybe we do like you and then what if we start with that one because we’re gonna have the dirt blocks and things overhanging in that point right there of course as we Have currently set and then maybe this one we do something like this bring it up here and then that’s actually putting us basically at that same point maybe we actually bring him right here the key to this part though is adding in a bunch of variation to it we don’t want any bits To look the exact same so you see you can see between these two they have a bunch of variation this one here starts out higher there that one’s a little bit lower then that’s higher then they’re even randomly and then this one’s lower and that one’s higher so we’re gonna Over taking and over passing each other as far as who is growing if you keep that pattern going consistently throughout this entire area here it’ll actually look pretty solid so I’ll tell y’all what let me get this stuff built in here I’m going to try and get that Side finished up to here so we can get a decent idea this one and I’ll be back were there base layers of the stone now in place from that initial point where we set up right there moving over this way it helped out a lot by I came Through here and basically every three or four blocks I built one of the lines up and then built a line up and then built a line up and then I came back and basically just filled in the dots between all of those and actually the process went pretty quick I did also Bring in some of the dirt down here which is just piling up going all the way up to the top and the next thing I want to show you guys was from here a pie that top part you can see that we have that dirt block overhanging I want To show you guys how we’re doing that part up on the top of our soon to be cliff so you can see that right here we have a lot of the stone just kind of piled up back here which we can use for leverage for ourselves here as we’re Building this area up so what I like to do is make it look like the dirt is overhanging a bit making it look like it’s falling off the edges it helps a lot if you eventually come in here and bring in some of those cobblestone stairs and slabs and other stairs and Slabs for whatever using and make sure it looked like these things are more or less hanging over the edge so it appears more natural and your cliffs a bit like crumbling away and it helps a lot if you actually add some gravel down at the base as well that can Really lend to creating the like immersive experience that you’re looking for with this one so a few tips that you guys can use there for all this stuff but quickly just adding in the single layer of dirt right here bringing everything over and making sure they go Up and down in all these different ways is will hopefully give ourselves a pretty cool look over in this area now we do these ones right here maybe get rid of you and do that one let’s go right there because we’re gonna throw a waterfall in this area here eventually So I do want to leave that one open for now we’ll probably be working on the waterfall in the river in the next episode seeing how much dirt placing we have to get here I don’t know how much of that stuff we’ll be able to get 10 Today and just with that little bit of dirt I think we can still clean it up here and make those bits right there overhang a lot more than they are currently but down in this area is the main idea of what I’m looking for which I really like I think that’s a great Look I think we do need to get those slabs and stairs in there as well to make it look even better I think for now this one’s pretty good and welcome on back everybody our cliffs are now finally in place mobs are going like crazy underneath us right now right Under there is our unintentional mob farm of the day I’m super pumped to say that we have these cliffs finished up going all the way throughout there it’s time to jump up top real quick before we do that if the audio sounds a bit different here it’s because I recently Just got a new microphone I’m still working on tweaking the settings for that one so give me give me some time to figure this one out for sure here I’m a little busy right now and I got a little too excited and hooked that up and disconnected the old one so we’ll see How this goes but for now what I’m gonna do is just basically fill in the rest of these gaps right here make sure this thing’s looking all good and then I’ll jump over into time-lapse mode and we can get all of the dirt placed in along This entire thing now for the big old dirt placing time-lapse we are back on the old microphone for now I was smart enough and realized that we could just take the thing out and plug the old one back in but it was not respond up for That for the rest of this video so sorry about that I got a new part coming on the way it should be fixed by the next video anyways for this one here you can see that we’re placing in all these massive areas of dirt one or two things That I want to point out here was that it’s a great idea to break that up with the occasional stone face just making so this whole area isn’t is dirt going all the way across and then something else that we can do in here to really make this a lot more Interesting is that you can see that we’re using a lot of different angles here we’re not creating direct lines from point A to point B we’re using a bit of variety going through these I like to take it like stepping over two blocks at a time then moving forward one Block or three blocks or something like that and for these shorter areas I don’t really typically do anything more than five blocks in a straight line and I think we get a pretty good natural result for this one it really is a lot of variety as we’re going throughout Here sometimes bringing it forward other times wearing a backwards basically as I’m going I’m doing a few little segments here then I look at the end point and I really coarse and like okay this works here oh maybe no we shot it back going a little bit too far in one Direction here then for the next few segments we’ll bring it out towards it and then we’ll reevaluate again from there this whole thing is not planned out at all we’re taking it a single section at the time and I think overall it actually works out pretty well for us Here so that’s pretty much how we do custom terrain like this it’s a lot of block placing it’s a lot of everything along those lines but I think this really gives us the most natural and cool result that we can get in the end and it’s pretty insane I’ve been Fiddling with these dang audio settings back and forth for two days now since getting this new microphone and I think it’s finally time just to say this is what we’re getting for now I want to make sure that I get this video out to you all I hope you all enjoyed the Time-lapse placing in all the dirt it’s been quite a long time since then so there’s a few things I wanted to touch base on the grass is still grown across here and a few additional things that we’re able to throw in here to make it just that much more interesting was Bringing in these stone faces for example I’m sorry that the audio here isn’t super great I’m still working on that one for those who watch the live stream earlier this week on earth last week I guess at this point on Tuesday you’ll guys know that I’m still Struggling with us when I’m not I’m not an audio engineer or technician at all so I’m very much making this stuff up by scratch many ways I did bring in a few areas here to make it much more steep as we’re going throughout so we brought in A stone face right there we brought in some more stone faces right over in there and then we have our smooth out out cliff ways coming all the way up throughout this area really lending to a really really cool and unique feel to this hill here so hopefully that was Really helpful for you guys as far as terraforming goes let me know if there’s anything else you guys want to be touching on next episode what we’re gonna be doing is we are going to be tackling the waterway right here working on the river as well as Working on the waterfall jumping out of it and then the episode after that I’m planning on working on the mountains right here to make sure this thing is all looking pretty sweet and pretty awesome so anything else beyond those ideas that you guys have questions about For terraforming be sure to let me know down in the comments below with that however thank you all so much for watching today’s episode please hit that like button if you did enjoy subscribe if you are new and I’ll catch you on the
