Minecraft Villager Mod: Potions & Shenanigans

Hello everybody my name is marlo and welcome back to another episode of techtopia why are you looking at my shiny leggings my eyes are up here thank you very much yes this is where you should be staring hey everybody welcome back to another episode of techtopia

Today we are going to be doing some building surprise surprise we’re actually going to be focusing on two main builds today one is going to be a potion shop which is also going to exist as a two-person home and then we’re also going to be making a six-person home which will most likely

Have to go underground which should be pretty interesting but if you can remember last episode i said we needed eight more villagers to get to the grand total of 100 villagers and six plus two is eight so we’re going to be getting 100 villagers to take it today hopefully

And then the rest of the episode will probably spend just doing some odds and suds here and there of things i’ve been meaning to do for a while i think to kick the episode off here we are gonna jump straight into a super fast building montage of the

Potion shop which is going to be located in this area here we have a pretty open spot in this position that kind of needs filling and it should go nicely beside the fletcher’s house that we built last Episode Why must you do this farmers there are one two three four five six seven of you i think completely stood still maybe an eighth one is on their way now i have no idea why they do this but with a quick relog they are back to work in no time at all

Again no idea why this happens anyways the potion shop is done as you can see and it’s already causing problems with this thing right here honestly i’m just gonna leave these flipped up or even just get rid of them entirely i got the same on the front of

This house it’s meant to be like a little i don’t know table or something or other but villagers just always get stuck on it um we are going to check out the potion shop in just one second i real quickly want to head down to the

Mines because a lot of my miners as you can see here are sad and i don’t know why it seems to only be them so i just want to make sure nothing is going on down here that’s a little bit weird you can see the bar is actually down here trying to cheer

Them up but by the looks of it all of their mine shafts are still active so it’s not that they’re jobless with nothing to do yeah i don’t know what else it could be that’s causing it i mean i i guess it could be pretty depressing down here in the mines all day

But i don’t know if that’s an actual implemented feature into their happiness levels probably not they’re just sad for some unknown reason i i don’t know why villagers do anything really i have been sleeping the night away a lot recently like i’ve just done now it’s currently morning time but

If that were to be the reason then it would be more than just the miners that i said but i mean we got a whole row of sad miners here as you can see so it’s obviously not that i genuinely am clueless feel free to let me know if you are

Aware of what the problem possibly could be down in the comments but shall we go ahead and actually check out the potion shop here slash two person home so if we just head on side you can see we’re kind of split up into three different rooms

The very center one here is meant to be like the cashier where the people who live here would actually be you know sitting and selling their items so we got the desk here blockading the customers from the employees always a good thing they got their chairs which they should actually sit on

Which should be pretty cool and then we got this big old chandelier in the center which always looks quite nice with the sparkly end rods paintings on the wall and then basically this is like storage so we just got some brown sands and chests kind of stacked up on the wall which i

Actually kind of like the look of and then over here is their very small bedroom there’s nothing on this table because it’s bound to just cause problems with the villagers waking up in the morning and getting stuck here if i had a flower pot for example just

Placed on here they get stuck on it i don’t know why villagers are funny and then over here we have the actual kind of shop aspect of it so this isn’t really for sale it’s kind of just uh storage for what’s going out on the shelves here which the

Villagers can come in and pick up whatever potion they would like buy it from the cashier and then leave the shop so yeah that’s the inside as for the outside uh let me just do a quick fly out here and actually give you a nice overview of it

Maybe we’ll go a little bit lower try not to let the tree get in the way but yeah it’s it’s generally pretty basic the actual design of it the only thing that i really do quite like and if i just go over to the mountain here

And zoom in on that shape right there what does that look like the purple it looks like a potion bottle right that was the intent anyway i don’t know if it actually does i mean i think it’s pretty good honestly i’m very happy with how it turned out

Because it wasn’t really intentional at first i could kind of start building it and then i saw where it was going and completed the look and i think it’s just a nice little detail for the potion shop i think now we’ve got that built up we may as well go

Ahead and purchase the actual two-person token to go on the item frame out front so let’s just grab my emeralds here and i’m actually gonna grab the ones out of this shulker box as well still haven’t sorted out my items from last episode when we went end busting but let’s go

Ahead and purchase this you also may have seen me in that quick montage killer necromancer very very quickly that’s what i do now whenever i get a necromancer i’m generally pretty quick on the mark and they always spawn over there in that corner because they can

In any of the other four village corners and as long as i do it before he gets his skill that basically allows him to become indestructible until you kill the wither skeletons around him you can just one shot kill him with the bow so as long as i’m fast and snappy about

It the necromancer is like just an emerald farm basically he doesn’t come frequent enough um but yes anyway hello architect i need you so i brought all my emeralds just in case we have enough for the six-person home afterwards but i don’t know if that’s gonna be the case

Uh emerald blocks uh that’s gonna be over 72 85 no i don’t think we have enough so i’ve got the token in place and slight problem the beds have not turned yellow and i think it’s because our desk here is actually blocking off the villagers path to get to it i mean

They can easily climb over here right but they don’t know that so hopefully i can break like this block and it’ll work nope okay that didn’t work we might have to just curve the desk round to like here maybe and do that instead okay you can access them there we go

Okay right crisis averted the beds are all good that still looks fine in my opinion i prefer to go in diagonal across but that will have to do anyway we are gonna go to bed soon but before we do i’m gonna tell you what we’re gonna work on next which is

Actually gonna be the six-person home that i alluded to at the start of the episode which as i said is going underground and that’s because i don’t have much space left there’s still a couple of other builds i would like to add into the surface level here

And i don’t have room for a six-person home which is why we’re shoving it underground and we actually have a little spot just round the corner here i hear some twinkling hearts i might have to go pick up soon we’re going to need eight of them today

But i’m thinking in this little hill here we actually kind of hollow out the inside a little bit and turn it into the six person home so the very first thing we’re going to do is get rid of this dirt mound right out the front because it’s really ugly and it’s kind

Of blocking the way but then i’m thinking we make some sort of like cave tunnel leading to it because we can’t really you know go directly into the six-person home it’s not gonna be uh tall enough and i would like more room preferably so i’m

Gonna just kind of turn on my way down maybe go 12 blocks deep something like that possibly will end up being a bit more and carve out the six person home and i think that would just be something a little bit different and fingers crossed the villagers actually find it and use Okay Apart from breaking the beacon down here which i never really like doing just because it takes so long we are all done and i thought we would have a look around in shaders because that always makes things look better right and i’ve actually done a little bit more work

Than you saw in the time lapse the house at the bottom is actually all done so here is our cave entrance i’m probably gonna if i remember and have time come back to this area here and try and put it up a little bit because it’s not

Awfully nice at the moment um maybe do something with it potentially like a little garden maybe i’m not really sure but this is our cave entrance looking very atmospheric and you may notice as always it’s pretty heavy on the cobblestone because that is the only slab stair and

Wall variant that we have in the current version so it’s always a bit more frequently used but generally it’s pretty good looks like a cave looks like a tunnel and leads to the home so there’s nothing more we really need to do with it and on the inside here this is what we

Have so i actually had to make a few alterations on the go here i didn’t have as much room as i planned i actually had to shorten the ceiling down by a little bit i was planning on it being maybe three blocks taller i think but if we dug up like a block

Here around about we would uh bump right into a uh four-person home that’s just above so i had to make some changes on the go um but yeah i’m generally pretty happy with how this turned out so i’m thinking for this one we maybe pretend it’s either still a meeting hall

Or like an old retired meeting hall because that’s what it kind of reminds me of especially with the table in the middle here or maybe we could say this is the house for the village elders and where they go to discuss topics of the village i don’t know what

They would be talking about but they got beds if they’re in here for the long haul and of course their table and chairs around to discuss matters right that’s maybe what i’m thinking because it doesn’t particularly make sense having a house underground but i just sort of felt like building one and

Like i said earlier lack of space on the surface but yeah this is our house i’d say it’s pretty good there’s honestly not a whole lot to show you lots of sparkly end rods which as always look very very bright with the shaders on um and i’ll quickly show you the room

Without shaders on because you probably want to have a look at this i maybe should show you what it looks like without them bearing in mind we don’t have shaders on 24 7. so yeah virtually the the same just less nice that is once again

A lot of damage and i was wondering what is causing all of this and then i come over here slight issue i may need to put up some sort of fencing around here because this happens all the time but they’ve never got stuck like this what usually happens is they

Actually kind of teleport into a position where they can move but these guys have just straight up refused to do that so i am on a bit of a rescue mission right now i have to get them up to safety Steady does it villagers steady does it no pushing now you’re on the water’s edge but i think we’re all good okay right i’ll break that line of stone in a second but first things first we need to save one more villager uh nope can you get up there yeah there

You go awesome all right i’ve got some fences just temporarily we are going to do this no more pushing please come on now oh great they’re falling off as we talk uh we’ll do this and just fill this in break that grass block and maybe that’ll be fine they just push

Each other so much hopefully that solves issues just a little bit for now and we are done oh that took far too long okay let’s pick up all the iron make sure i don’t lose any i mean i got enough i get loads from the villagers

But still i it’s expensive stuff on the floor here so let’s make sure we got everything should be two stacks and 36. awesome okay we are now ready to get started with the next thing in today’s episode which as i said is just sort of going to be filled with

Odds and sods here and there of things i want to get done on the smaller side and the very first thing we are going to do is actually maybe let the night pass i haven’t let the villagers sleep through a whole night in quite a long

Time so i should probably do that let me just save you real quick uh farmer so yeah we’re gonna let them sleep and then we are going to do some work at the bottom of this waterfall here oh you’re doing that again i had this problem if you follow me on twitter

Uh link is in the description by the way if you’re not you can do that i post some stuff on there um i had a guard fall into the river here and i had to like boat them back up why why do you do this okay we’re gonna

Need a fence to go along there as well or wherever you’ve fallen off of basically uh i’ll save you in a second what i was saying is i want to do some work on the bottom of our waterfall here that we built last episode um and just try and make this look a

Little bit better because this is like the main waterfall he’s on fire don’t worry i’m sure he’s fine i got a fire aspect sword i’m basically gonna make this look better right so let me save the villager and then i’ll get started on that so here’s what we’ve got and i think it

Already looks a whole lot better and let me just explain the thought process of some of this stuff so on the forefront here of where the waterfall is landing or at least the nearest land to it i’ve kind of brushed away a lot of the dirt here and placed it

With some coaster and some stone because you know the waterfall maybe every now and again gets a bit bit over this side and washes away this so it’s not going to be nice and smooth however you may notice there are a lot of flowers around and that’s actually an idea i got from

Max carver in the last episode great name by the way who said that because of all the myths going along there’s gonna be an increase in growth of the flowers and just the general you know natural elements so i’ve bone made a lot of grass and i

Thought i’d just do the two high flowers around here instead of doing loads of different ones and i actually really quite like the look of that so yeah on the dirt areas nearby all of the mist we have a lot of flowers i thought that was a really good idea and generally

I’ve just placed in a few sand pieces here and there and trying to smooth everything out so for this little section i’d say it’s actually pretty good as i’ve been saying a lot recently the mass terraforming of everything else including the rest of this river for example

Will be done in some episodes soon we’re gonna continue looking at comments i got last episode and i had one from leah who suggested that i do something with these dragon heads and you never really have a good place to put these in they don’t particularly

Go with many things in this game or at least that’s what i find but since we’re in like an elven village i’m imagining dragons exist in this world and the general realm of ollarindor the human village macklinsvell the dwarven village the undergrowth and of course our elf village here

Eredoine and she suggested that i just place in some dragon heads maybe around in certain locations now i don’t know where they’re gonna go but i’m gonna place a couple down and see if they fit in very well i think i’ve got a really cool spot for one in the barracks here

I’m gonna try and place it in the center of our table doing some armasan trickery so we need the dragon head to be kind of level with all of the carpet here as you can see that’s a bit too high at the moment so what we can do is just break this

Block here and we’re gonna fall through but that’s okay and then we’ll try a slab maybe and see what level that’s at if i can place it down hang on a second gonna have to fly out and then please let me let me out i want to get

Out the table ouch there we go okay you got the zombie or uh you’re just going to be annoying i got this oh nearly shot you i apologize uh a little bit of disturbance there go back to sleep everything’s fine don’t worry maybe shouldn’t be doing this at night time

But if we place our armor stand in there awesome and then our dragon head on top see now that’s that’s too low i need a block that is like slightly higher than a slab what could that be a cake may do the trick let’s see

How this ends up i tried a chest but that was way too big the head was far above the table but a cake might actually be oh good let’s give that a go okay and then we can grab our armor stand which is not here okay it’s probably down here then

Next to the cake it’s probably gone beneath the surface um well i’m in a table now and i’m i’m pretty good head height so if i wanted to trap myself in here that could work but i don’t i would like to place the armor stand in it was just underneath there

Uh that actually looks pretty good nope still not quite there hmm it’s really big isn’t it i don’t know if this is actually gonna look good uh some of you may be saying use snow layers and i’m gonna show you why i can’t actually do that

Um because that would get like the exact height needed right i got eight options there to pick from or seven i’ve got soaked up shovel here and as you can see you break it and get snowballs i don’t actually think you can get the snow layers in the current version of 1.12

Well that was nice and tedious especially trying to do it all with the guards walking in my face they are very annoying you never want to sit down until i’m working on the table but yeah as you can see we got the dragon head here it looks a little bit funny i know

Maybe not as cool as i originally first thought i probably should have just done what leah said and put on the walls but i kind of like this you know they’ve just gone out and slain a dragon and they’ve just dumped it on the table in the very center of the barracks i

Really quite like that i know you can see the armor stand there but it’s as good as i can possibly get uh basically all i did i had a horizontal end rod and put it on that and then i just kind of moved it around

With the fishing rod to try and get it to not be like in the table like that and this after like five minutes of going back and forth with the fishing rod i managed to break like one in the process uh yeah it actually ended up

As this which i think is fine as i said you can only really see the armor stand at this little spot right here and it’s ever so slightly in the table from a distance it just looks kind of cool also kind of funny a bit of both

That took a little bit more time than i thought we are nearing the end of the episode here but there still are some things i would like to do and next on the agenda is to make a bridge going from this side of the river over to the other one because the

Villagers cannot jump like i just did there there we go our bridge is done let’s take a bit of a closer look here it’s nothing too complicated although we are working on a diagonal which is why it may look a little bit strange and i still may tweak this because i’m not

Entirely sure how i feel about these stairs there’s something that just looks a little bit off maybe it’s because they’re uh positioned the wrong way maybe they should be that way round i’m not sure i’ll probably mess around with it a little bit more off camera

But i’m running out of time for today’s episode so we need to move on to the next thing now which is to trade with the merchant here so we can actually afford to buy the six person home so what are you selling good sir the beetroot is what i was looking for in

Particular hopefully this is gonna be enough to get us at ten stacks of blocks and an extra one i think it was and we also need to hand out all of the hearts to spawn in the children i was meant to do that much much earlier as well as buy the

Token and place it down but i kind of forgot so we’ll probably have to hand out the profession tokens next episode uh but i need to craft these up into blocks first of all perfect that should be more than enough unless the prices have risen since last time but there’s no real reason

Why they should have done that architect hello i need the six person home there we go and there we go and there we go thank you very much we’re left with 16 and we can’t really buy eight professions with that so yeah we’ll definitely have to save that for next episode i’m afraid

But let’s go place this down and hand out all of these hearts or spawn them in i guess i should say i am going to do this on camera however at least the token just in case this doesn’t work then you can see my poor poor reaction but no we’re all good

Thank the lord we still have a yellow bed here which confuses me because i thought i only needed eight more villagers although i could have miscounted let’s just have a look in the book so we have a hundred beds which is what i needed but only 97 residents strange

That could just be because some of the villagers aren’t loaded in for some reason or maybe some of the bedside or something funky is going on or a villager has died unknowingly to me but i don’t think that would have happened or the most likely option is i’ve just

Miscounted and messed up somewhere along the way so i will be sure to start that after the episode is done here which is actually going to be right now where’s time to say goodbye everybody so thank you so much for watching this episode next time we will probably be doing the
