Ever since mojang teased this clip the community has been wondering if minecraft is getting a new dimension and with the release of snapshot 22w16a we can soundly say yes mojeng you messed up they revealed their hand too early with the release of music disc five we know not only that This is a portal but we have a decent idea on what’s on the other side First we need to confirm that this is a portal exhibit a out of all the portals in the game they’re all classified by their shape and activation for example the nether portal is characterized by its use of obsidian an important magical block within the game’s lore as we use it for the beacon Enchantment table and ender chest we also find it during the dragon fight the end portal frame follows a similar idea they’re ancient unbreakable and unobtainable it’s the same story with the end gateways comparing these blocks to reinforce deep slate we find that they possess similar properties they’re removable blast resistant and Can’t be crafted however reinforced deep slate is unique as it’s similar to obsidian as you can break it but it’s also similar to bedrock as it’s unobtainable exhibit b the game files head towards this being a portal pro gamebot’s channel said it best to paraphrase although the middle structure Is called the city center the statues resembling the structure are called small portal statues however this was removed in a later snapshot exhibit c it’s really cool i i like it feels like a place you want to explore yes i love that it really deepens the mystery of minecraft And there’s even this like ancient structure in the middle of every single city and it’s got something interesting about it that you’re going to have to explore in-game it’s clear mojang wants to add a new dimension but this begs the question what’s on the other side We can safely say it’s a post-game area by reverse engineering mojing’s game design philosophy we can infer their intentions in jeb’s guide to minecraft design one of the rules is quote bad things happen but they’re technically the player’s fault okay they’re the player’s fault yes minecraft needs to at least feel Fair as possible when going into a high difficulty area there’s always a warning built into its design so when a player dies it’s still technically their fault for example the end cities have two shulkers guarding the entrance in order to teach new players about levitation The first wave of a raid is always tame woodland mansions only get more difficult as you ascend and ocean monuments will scare the player before giving them mining the tea now let’s look at the end cities i believe the warden is not a mini boss but actually the warning Dictionary warden a person responsible for supervising a particular place or thing from a lore standpoint it’s designed to protect the gateway but from a gameplay standpoint it’s a tutorial the ancient cities are filled with extremely overpowered loot and armor maybe not just as a reward for the Players but as a way to prepare players for whatever this new dimension is given the abundance of endgame loot we can reasonably assume that this is a post-dragon hard mode dimension but we can go further one strange quirk about the warden is that it’s the only blind mob in the game Out of 31 hostile mobs it is the only one to be blind and it’s not just for gameplay every mob developed by team mojing was built with a specific environment in mind the skulks and a warden were specifically designed to live in the dark as they can only smell in here So it’s reasonable to believe that on the other side of this portal it’s going to be pitch black like if the player was thrown into an eternal darkness where the only source of light might be the light blue glow of skulk in the distance but we can go further Music disc 5 was added in snapchat 22w16b and it’s hard to understand at the moment it sounds like we’re in a stronghold at other times and it cuts in and out plays music distorts the screaming it’s filled with a lot of red herrings and mysteries that i honestly can’t solve but there’s This one part that has been itching at the back of my brain why do we hear metal stomping against the floor it’s not the warden it’s not the player it’s not some tool for a while i was puzzled until i was searching through the structure miles and i found this Minecraft slash structures slash ancient city structures slash barracks barracks now a building or group of buildings used to house soldiers and then all of a sudden it clicked this wasn’t a mob this was an army marching through to the other side that’s why the portal’s so wide that’s where there’s weapons everywhere that’s Why the city is surrounded by camps they went through to a fight and they never came back this would also explain the overgrowth of skulk in the area so does that mean we’ll be fighting an undead army on the other side of this portal no most likely on the other side of this Portal we’ll see a graveyard the last thing we can infer is that this will be a dead alien dimension characterized by skulk and magic and it will not be undead when the warden was first released it was weak to smite however this was intentionally removed meaning it is not an undead mob Furthermore skulk only grow when something dies over it so what will the dimension look like let me paint you a picture we light a foam steel to use the portal the warden is alerted to our presence and tries to rush over to kill us but as We barely make it through to the other side we find ourselves in a dark damp unknown world the portal behind us is old bone-like almost unnatural in a way a campsite knee-deep in skulk oozes from the disgusting earth as we carefully tread from the battleground beyond that The only thing we can see out there is the faint light blue glow and otherworldly life and a monster unwilling to be slain you Video Information
