Hello there everybody it’s me tyler the creator from the band tyler the creator welcome back to this week happy holidays the changes of the 1.18 update made to world generation are unmistakably major with all of the changes to world generation now is basically the best Time ever for a brand new base if you’re tired of building in the same old base location world after world then this is the video for you in this video we’re going to talk about 10 of the best biomes for building in minecraft 1.18 what biome do you usually set up your Base in drop that down in the comments while you’re heading down there make a quick stop at the like button really helps out appreciate it big time and subscribe if you aren’t subscribed you’re missing out huge time today we’re going to take a look at a Lot of different biomes if you like what you see in this video the world seed is that number right there check it out it’s going to work on java and bedrock edition so the first biome that could be amazing to build in a 1.18 is a windswept volume now the windswept biome It’s kind of like amplified in normal generation it’s going to be a little bit more of a challenge to build in windswept terrain can get a little bit more crazy for sure like this right here and actually that over there i’m pretty sure that’s windswept as well now bonus Points if you’re building in the windswept savannah the windswept savannah has coarse turtle over the ground which is amazing to work with this is one of my favorite types of dirt it’s normal to have favorite dirt okay all of the windswept bottoms are crazy that’s the point of them if you think Out of the box a little bit the windswept bottoms are a really really great place to build like look at these floating islands in here they’re crazy they make no sense at all the sharp hills i mean like you could do like floating houses in there bridges in Between the hills there’s a lot of potential for these windswept biomes minecraft 1.18 introduced eight to brand new bottoms of the game two of those bombs are under the ground they’re cave bombs a six of those bottoms are mountain bombs one of the best looking mountain bombs by far and an amazing Spot for a base is definitely gotta be the frozen peaks biome so here’s a really good looking frozen peaks biomes out of this world look at this thing ice all over the place snow all over the place they’re completely different blocks usually the ground is not made up Of like light blue and white blocks i like the different vibes here in my current survival series i’m building sort of off to the side of our frozen peaks because they’re a really really nice backdrop we’ll talk about backdrops a little bit more later though but you Could also build inside of the thing too if you’re building inside of the thing ice all over the place this is gonna work really really well with some kind of modern build pellet if you’re working on some kind of modern house a mansion or something consider maybe the top of a Mountain because not only do you have like amazing looking views like look at this right here really really good view but also you’re gonna have a different looking block on the ground you could work with the snow and make that like a yard or something the ice it could blend Pretty well with terracotta or even warped wood you could do like a mystical build up on top of the mountain i mean it just makes sense the only other place in the game where you’re going to get a vibe that is somewhat similar is going To be a frozen ocean but i mean it’s like an ocean and also polar bears are there which is not exactly ideal for bases and the ice melts if you put light on it the frozen peaks definitely the best icy biome in the game there are two old growth biomes that are pretty Similar you could sub either one of those in for this next spot we’re gonna go with the old growth spruce tiger because that’s what this is here but you could also go with the old growth pine tiger so the old growth spruce or pine tiger they’re these biomes right here The mega tiger biome you have coarse dirt on the ground amazing amazingly dirt we already know about that you have the boulders all over the place some mossy cobblestone on the ground like just right off the bat yeah that couldn’t get any better and then you have these gigantic trees these huge Trees are great for an immersive world these are like realistic uh sized trees personally i feel that unlike a lot of the other trees you’ll be able to find in the game these gigantic brewsters kind of make sense i mean think about like your average house it’s gonna be Like maybe five or six blocks tall if the trees are all shorter than it it’s gonna look a little bit weird trees being shorter than the house uh yeah you probably shouldn’t have a problem with that here look at these trees this forest right here clear out even just Three of these trees you’ll have loads of the best type of wood in the game and you have a forest environment that just makes sense and looks so cool more so than ever before backdrops are a big part of the game if you’re gonna set Up your base why not set it up in an area where you have like an amazing looking backdrop this next one is a very very specific spot so a plane’s biome planes bottom this is where it fits in on the list they’re consistently a great biome for building everything is like Kind of neutral here you have this grass stone right there the plains also usually has big flat open areas for building great for cities to switch things up a little bit here though what i’m really putting at this spot on the list is a plane’s bomb with a mountain Backdrop from my experience this situation is actually relatively easy to find and i mean look at this you have a planes mountain you can set your base up in the plains and you have this huge mountain in the background now this is from my survival world i decided to Build up on the mountain right now so i have a boat up there i have some stuff going on in the mountain but imagine the scenario you make the planes bomb your base you have a huge mountain in the background so it’s already really really scenic set up a whole village in the Plains mile and then again a scenic background you didn’t even have to do anything to improve it the 1.18 mountains are one of the biggest parts of 1.18 both like literally and also in terms of what was actually added and they look amazing if you can find a Plane’s bottom with a mountain backdrop i think you found basically the best base location in the entire game at least in my opinion don’t get me wrong i do always love a nice cozy plane space i feel like it’s very like basic minecraft vibe i love it One of my favorite base locations or maybe my favorite at the other end of the spectrum we have something that is completely completely different the badlands biome the bad lens bomb is an amazing spot for a base in 1.18 because i mean badlands like how can you not Love this place the striping is so so good looking also the badlands biome is one of the only non-mountain bombs or maybe even the only non-mountain bomb that can form a peak like look at this thing the striping goes so so high up it’s like insane if you’re building in The badlands you could build down here and have a mountain in the background you could build up in the mountain you could build on the side of the mountain there are so many great options here and terracotta if you’re building here you’re gonna get so much terracotta like Just constantly which is an amazing building block if you get this plain stuff color it any color you want use it in basically any build style that you’re going for modern medieval like literally anything also inside of the badlands you have this right here if you’re going for Like a creepy vibe uh the grass color is like literally like just dead here you have the coarse dirt this is definitely the perfect setting for some kind of haunted mansion with demon possessions happening frequently the badlands biome just looks great there’s nothing else i really even need To say about this i mean there’s more gold here there’s mine shafts too the badlands is just amazing it’s always been a great base location but now 1.18 it’s even greater than ever before cave bases cave bases are cool in 1.18 there were two new cave biomes added to The game the driftstone caves and the lush capes both of those volumes are potentially a great base location they could be really cool depending on what you do with them this next spot however is actually going to be neither of those two biomes it’s just going to be the Plane caves without any biomes specifically a big cave like this again without any biomes now i do realize that there are some drip zone caves uh in here it’s kind of mixing together but this spot right here inside of this world with these coordinates it’s just a Cape there’s no biome right here the nice thing about 1.18 is you can find these big caves generating like pretty much anywhere i found one inside of my world that is huge one of the biggest caves that i’ve ever seen and it doesn’t have a biome finding the big caves that Are huge caverns without any biomes is perfect for a base now if you have a biome like the drip stone caves or the lush caves you can still definitely set up your base there especially in here where we just have the drip stone caves on the ceiling but the problem here is Uh with these biomes is it might be a little bit more tricky to work with if you have a big cave but there’s drips on caves like literally all over the place or even more so with lush caves you might have to clear out a lot and you Might actually have to work with what is already there like it’s inevitable certain blocks aren’t going to work with other blocks if you have a ton of drip zone blocks all over the place maybe some won’t work if you have grass all over the place maybe some other blocks won’t really work I feel like it’s a little confusing but basically what i’m saying here is some kind of big open cavern that is neutral so somewhere like this without too many features inside of it these big open caverns that are open are literally a blank palette you can do anything you want with these Capes also uh there is so much room inside of some of these things like in terms of space for building uh this particular one yeah yeah it’s got you covered there are very few builds that you could set up inside of this cavern that will be too big for this cavern It’s gigantic you know i guess i’m really just all about backdrops today our next biome is a bomb that i feel like is really really underrated but is potentially an amazing base location the bamboo jungle so check this out where you see the bamboo everywhere where the Pods always on the ground that’s the bamboo jungle inside of this world these are the coordinates the bamboo jungle is actually a really really nice biome for building i feel but that backdrop leading let’s go back to that for a second so the bamboo jungle it’s a Jungle bible the jungle bomb is a warm bomb when mountains get warm they turn into the sony peaks the stony peaks biome i mean to be honest i wouldn’t really exactly consider it an amazing base location it’s very very gray all just really one color but it is a great Looking backdrop location the sony peaks especially if there’s calcite on the sony peaks cutting into the sky it looks so good so ideally if you could find a bamboo jungle that’s on the side of a mountain or maybe just near a mountain sony peaks is a bonus for sure that’s Gonna be a nice backdrop now the bamboo jungle inside the bottom it may look really chaotic but check this out with a sword you can run through here and clear all of this bamboo out like pretty much instantly and then there’s nothing else in the way if you’re trying to set up Some kind of big city or something need to clear out a lot of space quickly yeah you can exactly do that inside of this biome another nice thing about this biome tons of bamboo so that’s cool maybe you could use this as fuel or something uh also pandas pandas will Spawn here if you set up your base instead of a bamboo jungle bomb and then every so often pandas spawn uh like that’s amazing and even if they don’t spawn they’re just there you already have pandas right off the bat uh that’s that’s very very amazing maybe it’s because they’re relatively rare or Something but i feel like pandas are a really really underrated minecraft mob there’s a lot to them with the personalities the coloration and stuff they’re great finally let’s say you had a bamboo jungle bomb but you’ve searched everywhere there are just no mountains nearby that’s too bad you’re not gonna Have a mountain backdrop but at least you will most likely have a jungle backdrop the jungle bomb is a pretty interesting looking bomb too the trees with the vines and everything trim the vines up every once in a while it’s basically free vines and great looking trees Another biome that i feel is a little underrated nowadays probably because of its rarity is the mushroom fields bomb the mushroom fields bottom is a really really interesting looking biome quite literally there are no other biomes that look anything like this in the entire game a nice characteristic of the Mushroom fields biome no hostile mobs will spawn here if you’re building inside of the mushroom fields by them at night time you’re not going to have to deal with the creepers skeleton zombies any of that stuff custom mob spawning rules inside of a biome it’s something that i love i hope Going forward into the future the devs actually do this a little bit more like drip stone caves only spawning drown that almost happened that would have been so cool i love custom mob spawning rules inside of a biome so check this out here i am by the mushroom fields at Night time if you didn’t believe me yeah not a single hostile mob in sight that’s going to make your life a whole lot easier not having to worry about hostile mobs is a great thing maybe you’ve always played on an easier difficulty you’re looking to step your game up Consider setting your base up instead of a mushroom fields bomb maybe upping your difficulty and then just playing experience the hostile mobs if it gets too much go back to your base and there’s literally none when it comes to 1.18 uh realistically i don’t think there were very many changes to this Biome other than of course the whole generation change so it’s still going to look pretty familiar if you’ve built here before which could be good or bad also the mushrooms they’re insane they’re crazy they make like no sense at all if you like to build in build styles That are kind of unrealistic they don’t really make very much sense at all this is a great spot for those kinds of builds it literally makes no sense like look at the cow the cow has mushrooms growing on it i yes the snowy slopes the slopes that are Snowy another brand new mountain bomb in 1.18 the snowy slopes bomb in my opinion is a great bomb for building typically the snowy slopes bomb is going to be a little bit higher up which means you’re going to have good views of the distance so this snowy slopes bomb is right here Inside of this world good view also remember that whole plane spin on backdrop thing i was talking about well right here it’s happened huge mountain over there and then on the other side another huge mountain look at the sun coming through here because of the shaders that looks so good snowy slopes Bomb the one thing you’re gonna have to watch out for in the snowy slopes is powder snow all over the place powder snow will generate in this biome and sometimes it can get pretty deep you’re gonna have to either watch out for that stuff or clear it out but once you’ve Done that the snow all over the place is literally a blank canvas again a modern build would look really good here but really to be honest any type of build would look great inside of this biome it’s a blank canvas to make your build feel a little bit more complete in this Pile because the floor is like basically one block you might have to do a little bit more terraforming than you would in other biomes but it’s still a really nice spot to build a base jungle bottoms i love them they’re really interesting looking the grass color is great the trees are pretty Interesting this next jungle biome is the sparse jungle bomb the sparse jungle bomb is basically the equivalent of the jungle edge bomb it’s a jungle but there’s not too much jungle which is going to make it so much easier to work with off the bat so right here we have a Sparse jungle over here we have a sparse jungle if you’re playing on bedrock and you can’t exactly figure out the biome name the characteristic of this bomb there’s gonna be that warm green grass color and jungle trees except not jungle trees the jungle trees being spread out Means less to cut down means easier to work with i like to build cities which means i like a good open area the sparse jungle biome typically is exactly that a good open area now of course sometimes it can get a little bit more hilly sometimes it’ll be a little bit more Flat if you can find a flat area that’s going to be great for building also being a jungle bomb a warm bomb is going to have the chance to be near a stoney peak spine great looking yeah it didn’t exactly happen here but it is near a Jungle biome which is still an amazing looking backdrop for a base here’s another look at a sparse jungle very very close by look at this place in here clear out some of these jungle trees keep the bigger oak trees it’s great for building except this one is a little small so You’re gonna have to do a small build and that’s it those are 10 bottoms that are great for building in 1.18 hopefully this video gave you a little bit of inspiration maybe even some
