Hello there and welcome to a tea craft in today’s episode I’m going to be showing you 15 build tips and ideas for your Japanese world so don’t go anywhere and let’s get on with the video So the first essential thing for your any Japanese world really is the Sakura cherry blossom trees now here we have one that I have created it uses a number of different colored blocks I personally prefer this a lot of people will just use the the pink wall there and maybe Throw in some of the glass but I like to mix up a bit more there is a full tutorial on how to do this and build trees like this explaining the basics of how to get the main shape and everything on my channel so I’ll make sure to link That in the description for you number two on the list we have floating lanterns now these are the one thing that people comment about when they see my main Japanese base more than anything else so I wanted to showcase these for you basically what you can use Personally I use a half slab but you can also choose to use trapdoors either the dark oak or the Spruce and you add a lantern on top of that the key thing then is to space them round randomly in the water if you’ve got a little river Or something like that that’s got some flowing water then obviously you can put them in there as well but they make the the whole water area around your base look fantastic it’s a real really simple design but really really effective number three we have some we have some Some lanterns so these are based on the Japanese standing lanterns and what we have in here is we have a redstone lamp and then we have a daylight sensor on top set to night mode so soon as the night comes out as soon as it gets dark That lamp will light up and using the jungle trapdoors and the the granite wall then you can actually make a really really nice design and these will be great either side of your path to make sure that everything is safe and just continue the Japanese look number three We have and again I won’t go into too much detail on this we have all of the various different banner designs that you can get now I have a video on all of these banner designs so again that will be in the description it’s all also in the same Lest my Japanese playlist with a number of different designs obviously shown here and then of course you can use different variations of these by mixing up the colors so for example if you didn’t want black in the background here you could use you could use Brown and Have a bit more of a rustic look and these ones particularly for using some of the paper the paper dividers that they have in Japanese houses again I’ve used these in the past and they look fantastic so go and check that video out and learn how to make all of these Patterns but even if you’re just using a plain red banner or a plain black banner then they look fantastic and go very very well with the Japanese style so number five on the list we have this incense burner so if you watch carefully for a little while you will see that This actually has the smoke particles coming out of it like the incense is on fire and then has this little bowl with the incense burning inside of it and giving off light I’m going to show you very quickly how to make this here because it is a very very simple design So first of all what you want to do is knock down either one if you want lots of smoke or two if you just want a few bits of smoke coming out there and then on top of that we’re gonna place a glow stone and then around the glow stone we Are going to place and trying it for the top edge so you get the the metal latches at the bottom we’re gonna be placing the acacia trap doors all the way around this next thing that we’re gonna do is we’re gonna take a any coral fan I’ve got the bubble comic coral here And then we’re gonna place an item frame making sure that we avoid that hit box in here and then chorus threw in the item frame I’ve got it the wrong way around you have to put the chorus fruit in first and then you click on it with The the coral fan so there you can get the combination of an item sitting on the block and then the item frame was something as well so this is a brilliant brilliant one and again yeah will look great in any fantastic Japanese build moving on we have again a very very simple design But something that looks incredibly effective Japanese builds are well known for having lots of things that are very close to the ground so for a bed just by placing some slabs around it you can create the look that it is actually a bed roll you can use the same effect and I’ve seen people do this with carpet and with yeah with carpet basically however if you use a bed and just raise everything up have either a raised or a lowered platform by half a slab then you get this brilliant bed roll appearance and it still maintains its function next Is one of my favorite that all tricks and that is the tatami mats so all Japanese builds are traditionally they have these maps that go throughout them now in Minecraft and I’m using a texture pack but you will see that it’s the same in the vanilla textures you can use the Stripped birch because you get the directionality of this block it looks very much like the rush mats that go either direction now the key when you’re putting these into a build is try and vary them up here is a little bit more uniform than it would be so you would Actually have a variety of Maps going in different directions and that really adds to the bill and you’ll see that on some of the future ones here such as the next one which again going into the low-level living is using these pressure plates as little cushions or floor Cushions around a table so again there’s a number of different pressure plates you can use based on your colors and again the table you can use any half slab and what you then do is working on these tatami mats you get the look with these with these pressure plates that There is a ring around it so it does look more like a cushion than if you’d use to say a carpet on that and the other thing with them is some of the houses have themselves little the seats with the back so again if you match the Your plate to a trapdoor type my particular favourite for Japanese builds is these jungle trap doors which are great with the little circular oval type pattern in the middle they are brilliant for for those builds and what I’ve done again is instead of a half slab I’ve Used a little daylight sensor now this either looks like there’s a number of things on the table which adds a bit of life to the build or could you could say is the alphago game that’s very popular in end of Asia and people sitting around and using that one of the other things That you can do so these ones are on the maps themselves if you wanted to use item frames and put things on here obviously it’s a bottom half slab you wouldn’t be able to do that however if you lift everything up then you can use something like that’s a bit of a lower Block now again this is a really a creative thing because you’re not going to be able to get these in vanilla but you can use some portals again it’s the cushioned and what you will see is that this is actually full slab so you would Be able to put things if you wanted on top of this so the next thing that we have is this awesome little standing lamp now again with everything being floor based on top of the tatami mat you get a lot of standing lamps and lighting in Japanese builds so I’m just gonna run Through really quickly how to build this you can get to see lanterns of you see lanterns but you can use glowstone or any any block and then in the to either side of the middle there so you get the latches in the right places you place Your trapdoors all the way around I love the contrast you get with the sea lanterns through this and then finally you just add an acacia pressure plate on top and then you get this lovely little really really simple but really really effective design another simple and effective thing is again in the heating In Japanese houses it tends to be little furnaces that they have in their little log burners and the blast furnace is the perfect block for that with the with this little grill on the front you can imagine people piling logs in there to keep themselves warm If you then stand this on front on top of a cauldron you get these lovely little feet and then with some andesite walls out the back to make a chimney or you can have the under side walls coming out the top if you prefer or a limited In space you get this lovely little lob burner and again a really really simple design only using three blocks but just a fantastic detail next on the list we have some more lighting so this is just a design for a hanging lamp now this is again another Use of the banners so I’ve used the red banners that we’ve got here but inside here what we have is some glowstone again we have the jungle trapdoors going all the way around with just a jungle slab and then you get that movement that you get from banners whilst this is Hanging and that can hang from any of the corners of your build for something a little bit more substantial than an Lantern so if you’ve got a big build a lantern can get lost but something like this looked really really effective carrying on with the lighting a different style of floating lanterns now A lot of people will have seen the paper lanterns that you have India in Japan I’ve used red orange and yellow here just for just to show you now if you wanted to put those as all yellow glass then you could do what I’ve used in the past is particular when you’re looking From the ground using a dark color at the bottom normally I would say orange and then two yellows is a really really good design and pattern for this but like I say any of this the combination you can use red and two oranges or orange and yellow red orange yellow However you want to do it and it’s really really simple all you do is have a circle of these round and then in the middle layer you have a single iron iron bar and then from that that allows you to hang your lantern and when you’re Looking at these from a distance they do look brilliant and all you need to do simply is pillar up and start creating these in random places once you’ve created your pillar then of course you can go around and start dotting these about and leaving quite a lot of gap Between them because you will be looking at these from quite a distance the more gap you you leave the more they kind of interact with each other as you move around which is a really really nice touch moving on to something else that’s synonymous with Japanese builds is the Paper partitions now obviously I showed you one way that you can do that by using the banners and standing those up and stack King knows as high as you want but another fantastic way of doing this is using the birch obviously birch door isn’t quite high enough but if you put a Trap door on top of the birch door and then you overlap them basically by placing one from this side and then coming around and placing one from the other side in in order to place the doors and then place the trap doors on top of them by pillar in out or if You’re on creative just holding shift and going up then you can create this brilliant look and feel that you’ve got these sliding paper partitions they do look brilliant when when you’ve got a house full of these with the open plan and it just breaks up the flow of things And yeah you get a bit of depth as well you can see that the one in front of the other so a fantastic little way to get a bit more of that Japanese feel in there and then again you can just put that in any surround that you want and talking Of the feeling here I’ve just built a couple of options of again the loads of the floor living that you’ve got with the cushions that you would be going on here and underneath here I’ve got a hopper on the bottom and again the brilliant addition of the of the Campfire underneath and on top of that we’ve got this cauldron that would be cooking the the food unfortunately we’re a bit limited in the size of things if you you can either use a cauldron or us I have over here a hopper to be showing your hanging cooking receptacle your Cooking pot if you try and use something like a plant pot for example then the bars don’t quite link up so it looks just a little bit out of place but using either of these two blocks from here it looks fantastic and then you can either have it as a Little cooking cooking pit or you can have a slightly larger one depending on the size of your build and this way I’ve just switched it around I’ve got a cauldron in the bottom with the heat underneath it as the little stove and then we’ve got the hopper which would be Your cooking receptacle there and then I’ve just again put it into a little bill to show you how that would look if you were actually potentially building this in a Japanese style the very last thing that we have and again really really important for any japanese-style Base is your torii gates now again I have a video on 10 designs for these but I’ve done something a little bit different here go and check the video out of course because there’s a whole bunch more designed but I showed that you can actually build these on an angle Again this was something that I did I build a build challenge with WBC builds and he built his gate on on the diagonal and I thought oh yes that’s a great idea so just to show that off and using sort of different color variations we’ve got the red terracotta here which is really Really good but again the banners really bring things to life here we’ve got a set of wooden gates so if you’re going through a forested area for example you tend to get a lot of these gates together so it gives you a really nice feel of just Being able to walk through into an area so these gates are always the entranceway to something or an area and with that we have one that is the entrance to the nether and the way that I’ve done this is built my nether portal and you can surround that on all sides with Item frames and here we have a custom map now this map is purely just a big 128 128 area of red concrete on a creative bit world that’s really really easy to do and takes a matter of seconds however on a survival world is still very doable in terms of custom maps you Just need to make sure you’ve got a good amount of red concrete go and I’ve got the time to place it all but once you’ve done that you can lock the map and then just take the clock read back and then that gives you that read map whenever you want it but again It’s a fantastic different way to have another portal I mean it looks great at the start of any base and would be fantastic for you to use both here and in the nether and this is exactly the same design that I’ve used on my realm for my nether portals on my Japanese Base so with that I’m just going to give you a quick run-through of a large house that I built that actually integrates a lot of these designs so you can here see there the incense burner you can see there the log burner you can see all of these little touches on the paper Sliding doors we’ve got the floor based seating areas we’ve got the sleeping mats all of these things when you put them together it gives a really really great oriental and Japanese theme so with that I’d like to say thank you for watching the video please do make sure That you do like and subscribe if you haven’t
