A Secret About the End Dimension in Minecraft

Hey guys it’s phoenix i’m currently in the end dimension of minecraft you probably can’t tell because there is a tiling pattern of concentric circles in front of me i’m using a modifying engine uh just to try and demonstrate a few different things but this is completely possible in

Vanilla but what i’m about to show you is not what it does is it reveals some interesting secrets in fact it’s just one secret but it’s multifaceted the end dimension if you didn’t know already and i’m sure some of you already know is actually just a box

So if i look up you can see that the arrows are pointing completely down and they will join like so however the ones on the sides will not they do point towards one direction so uh if i look i think this is south i will actually approach

The end island uh to give you a more interesting aspect uh if i fly forward you can’t tell that i’m flying right it’s actually kind of impossible um the tiling in fact is just an illusion you will not get anywhere and notice how the end island forms in front of you

From the uh the distance whatever you want to call it it’s like a tv screen almost it’s like you’re inside a box and you actually are the end sky is coated like it is a cube you’re inside a box which is frustrating especially if you remove this nylon which i will

I’m about to do i will remove the end island from view it will still be there but you won’t be able to see it uh using the lighting effects which i demonstrated previously so notice how the end island just appears it’s like you’re just sliding forward and the end island is

Merely a visual platform which will be will disappear from view otherwise you won’t look like you’re going anywhere this is kind of cool actually so now what i’m going to do is remove it so the n island would disappear from view right about now and i will kill him

Right now there we go and so you can see all the entities disappear in spanish with the the puff of those uh particles however now you notice the player is gone and nothing else exists it is in fact yes very fitting for the name the semantic

It is the end and otherwise there is nowhere for you to go you are simply and you don’t even exist the play doesn’t exist after this yes the uh the player is gone the enter the end line’s gone every end city is gone you’re simply in a cube with no

Where to go no goals no aspirations it’s completely empty and to make matters worse what i can do now with this modification program is remove even the arrows and you can see that the tiling doesn’t exactly work at the corners so yes you are in a cube but otherwise

Um yes this is just to prove a point that there is uh there’s no directional uh mechanic there’s no there’s really nothing and i guess that’s what the end was supposed to be when they coded it it was just meant to be a place which has limits it’s not like

It’s an infinite world so there are quite a few things you can texture with the end sky it’s just the environment texture you can re-texture for yourself but i wanted to show you because a lot of people probably know about this in theory but

In order to see it you have to do a couple of things you’ve got to retexture to the sky and you have to remove the end which is a lot more difficult now but to remove it with lighting the lighting effect which i did before

Now you can see it perfectly so you can try things like this this is the matrix and um it’s almost like it’s that uh the effect from interstellar yeah you basically can’t fly any forward i’m flying right now but you can’t see anything because the sky doesn’t move along with you

Just like you would expect in a minecraft game so yes i am inside the matrix right now just use the matrix overlay it’s not very good it’s not very clear because the texture is quite large so the details aren’t there unless you zoom in with the fov

Or optifine so otherwise it looks kind of nice that’s just one example i can remove that pathway and change it to something else ascii which is the font title that minecraft uses in the textures which is why i tweeted out before last week and you can also do things like

So the title screen there are a lot of things you can do with this but this perfectly highlights the the box idea how you can simply remove every single aspect of the game and you’re left with a player that’s invisible there’s just nothing inside a box which is completely empty so
