So, you want to become the Severus Snape of Minecraft. Well, today I’m going to be explaining every single minecraft potion in Minecraft Java Edition in less than 10 minutes. Also, if you play Bedrock edition, this video will still explain all the basic minecraft potion concepts just as well. so let’s go- All of these potions will require a funny looking stick called a Brewing Stand, which can be crafted by brutally assassinating some floating yellow men. You’ll also need some water bottles. To do this, simply scoop up some very clean water that has definitely been filtered and sanitized and will totally not Give you E. coli. You also need the blaze rods from your assassination to power the brewing stand, so the more murders, the merrier. To start off 99% of the potions, place a single nether wart, which can be found in nether fortresses, to convert your hydroflasks into awkward potions. Now, You might be wondering, “why are they called awkward potions?” Quite frankly, I have no idea. Putting a glistering melon will grant you potions of healing. This handy potion is like minecraft’s equivalent of bandages in Fortnite. Consuming one will cause you to instantly regenerate 2 hearts, UNLESS you add glowstone onto the potion of healing, which now converts your potion into a med kit, as it will now cause you to regenerate a whopping 4 hearts. Adding a ghast tear will transform your awkward potions into potions of regeneration. This potion… is sorta like a slurp Juice. Why am I comparing everything to Fortnite- Chugging a potion of regeneration will cause you to restore 9 hearts continuously over a 45 second period. You also have the option to add glowstone to shorten the time it takes, or redstone to the potion to increase the regeneration duration. Adding a magma cream will convert your awkward potions into potions of fire resistance. Like the name states, it gives you immunity to fire and lava for 3 minutes, which is extremely useful when you’re fighting blazes or if you’re Dream in a Minecraft Manhunt. You can add redstone to the Potion to increase the duration to a monstrous 8 minutes. Perhaps you’ve got some extra blaze powder. Combining it with awkward potions will grant you potions of strength, which turns your Minecraft character into a ripped chad who wears a gymshark tank top and drinks protein shakes 5 times a day. Your melee damage will now be increased by 130% for 3 minutes, UNLESS you add glowstone, which is basically steroids at that point, as it grants you a colossal 260% boost in damage for 1 minute and 30 seconds. And if this potion wasn’t already overpowered, you can also instead Add redstone to increase the potion duration to 8 minutes. Adding sugar to an awkward potion will give you potions of swiftness. Now, if you want to become everyone’s favourite speedy super hero, the Red Rush, this is the potion for you! Drinking this Potion will allow you to leave Usain Bolt in your dust, and can be enhanced with glowstone or extended with redstone. Have you ever wanted to breathe underwater for 3 minutes? Me neither- oh, well, apparently, a LOT of you do. Adding pufferfish to an awkward potion will allow you To make potions of water breathing, but you won’t be seeing me using this potion anytime soon. Also, as you guessed, you can add redstone dust to extend the 3 minutes to 8 minutes, so that you can experience the lovely, fun world under the sea. Now, if for whatever reason, you Don’t use a Minecraft client that has full-bright, or haven’t changed your Minecraft gamma to 1000 in your options text file, the potion of night vision may be useful for you. Simply combine a golden carrot with the awkward potions, and experience what 99% of the minecraft community Sees without needing to brew this potion. I’m not gonna lie though, it makes your sky reallyyyy pretty with shaders 🙂 Oh, also, you can extend the duration of this potion with redstone. Combining a rabbit’s foot with awkward potions will allow you to acquire potions of leaping, Which not only lets you jump higher, but also reduces fall damage. However, if you’re a ranked bedwars sweat, be warned, as these potions do not allow you to jump nearly as high as the ones in Hypixel bedwars. Even with glowstone to enhance the effect, you’re jumping an extra feet at most, So don’t expect to be jumping over yao ming or doing insane luvonox jitter towers. I don’t know if i still need to say this, but adding redstone to the potion = longer duration. Adding a phantom Membrane potion to awkward potions will grant you potions of slow falling, which will make you feel like you’re levitating! Mixing a spider eye with awkward potions will allow you to get potions of poison, perfect for a Romeo and Juliet cosplay. It is the opposite of a potion of regeneration, and inflicts Damage on you over time. Luckily though, it won’t kill you. You can either enhance the effect with glowstone, or, as you guessed, extend the potion duration with redstone. This next potion, the potion of the turtle master, is very interesting. Combine an awkward potion with a turtle shell, And you get a drink that grants you resistance 3, but slowness 4 for 20 seconds. It’s like those debating memes: You get a 60% reduction of incoming damage, but 60% decrease in speed. Adding glowstone will turn you into a literal tank by giving you slowness 6 and resistance 4, which is A 90% decrease in speed and a 80% reduction of damage. Again, redstone extends the duration of the potion. The next few potions shockingly don’t require awkward potions. Instead, they use potions that we’ve previously made. For example, brew a potion of swiftness with a fermented spider eye, And you get yourself a potion of slowness. Drinking this will reduce your speed by 15%, and can be enhanced with glowstone and extended with redstone. Why would you purposely brew this? I don’t know, maybe you searched “how to be more confident” and Google told you that Walking slower shows self-assurance, confidence and lack of urgency? Combining a potion of poison with a fermented spider eye will grant you potions of instant damage, which will give you literal pain. [pain] Adding a fermented spider eye to a potion of night vision gives you A potion of invisibility, which will allow you to quite literally go incognito mode. However, again, unlike bedwars, you’ll need to take your armour off or else you’ll look like the walking knight from Harry Potter. Again, adding redstone = longer duration. Taking a bottle of water and slapping it With a fermented spider eye will grant you the almighty potion of weakness, which reduces your attack damage by 0.5 for 1 minute and 30 seconds. Glowstone and redstone, you know what those do. Now again, why you want to brew this potion to drink is a mystery to me. Perhaps you’re just Too good at Minecraft PvP and need a handicap or something. Next is a Bedrock exclusive, Java Player Moment (jkjk). It’s the potion of decay. If the potion of poison was Thanos, the potion of decay would be Galactus. This extremely Terrifying potion damages you with 40 wither heart damage over a 40 second period. Although, drinking milk will just simply get rid of this effect. The potion of decay is scary, but not as scary as You not being subscribed :0 If this video has helped you out at all so far, please considering subscribing! 😀 It’s 100% free, and I’m posting new Minecraft content every week! Also, I’m going to be replying to EVERY SINGLE COMMENT on this video, so leave anything you want down below! Appreciate u lots, and back to the video <3 Lastly, you’ll get Mundane potions and THICK potions if you mess up the brewing process. They are pretty useless, and are a cruel reminder of the failure you’ve become in a block game. However, these drinkable potions are
Actually not the only type of potion available. By adding gunpowder, you can actually convert most of these potions into “splash potions”, which is basically a potion you can throw onto yourself, mobs and players. This type of potion actually makes some potions extremely useful! For example,
The previously mentioned potions of poison, slowness, and weakness, which were pretty useless in their potion form, are now actually insanely useful in PvP scenarios, as you can splash your enemies with these harmful effects. Additionally, for all you Minecraft survival sweats, splash
Potions of weakness along with a golden apple are needed in order to cure zombie villagers, which can be essential for your villager trading halls. Other splash potions worth mentioning are the splash potion of healing, which actually now harms skeletons, zombies, zombie pigmen,
And withers. Another interesting potion is the splash potion of harming, which now actually heals skeletons, Zombies, Zombie Pigmen and Withers, but harms other mobs. Again, it’s probably related to those mobs being undead… The final type of potions are lingering potions. To craft this,
Add any splash potion with a dragon’s breath, which can be acquired by scooping up the ender dragon’s breath attack or fireball clouds in an empty bottle. Lingering potions are a variant of splash potions, and leave effects on the ground in a cloud wherever they’re thrown. Whenever
A player or mob walks into the cloud, they receive the lingering potion’s effect. However, the cloud’s radius will actually decrease slowly, and players or mobs walking through it will cause the cloud to decrease by half a block instantly. Thank you so much for watching this video-
You thought it was over. HA! I saved this for last because there actually is one final potion in the game: The Potion of Luck. Now, supposedly, this potion is supposed to increase the chance of finding rare treasure, while decreasing the chances of finding junk. However, what
Makes this potion extremely weird is that it is absolutely OBTAINABLE in survival Minecraft. And, if it couldn’t get any weirder, the potion of luck DOESN’T EVEN WORK. When testing the luck effect, a YouTuber by the name of TheMisterEpic found that there were no differences in loot drops
With and without the luck effect. In fact, the potion of luck only seems to work when fishing. If you want to learn more about this mysterious potion, TheMisterEpic has actually uploaded a fantastic video that dives deeper into the luck effect.
And with that, we’ve covered every single minecraft potion in less than 10 minutes 🙂 Video Information
