This was Minecraft in 2009 and this was how it looked when it was released back in 2011 probably the more familiar look we’ve all come to know and love with each new update the game’s Graphics have been steadily evolving and many game elements now look different and not only that with the development Of community projects like mods and texture packs Minecraft’s Graphics have progressed a lot over the years creators like Sonic ether are pushing the boundaries sometimes into RTX territory and even Nvidia is getting in on the action we are beginning to see things that we could have only dreamed of Yep that’s Minecraft Thank you this is a replica of the real world inside Minecraft and it’s so realistic that the character looks wildly out of place it’s so realistic that my boy Steve is like why is everything so smooth go to your happy place go to your happy place you’re watching the Existential Terror of Plato’s Cave allegory in real time this is the brainchild of user D flog flag and while his name may sound like a Donkey Kong Country level his work is fascinating this map is the product of photogrammetry a process we’ve discussed in a previous video where in 3D models Are created from smashing a questionably large amount of photographs into each other and to be more precise this was a scan of 2598 photos the original location that this scene is modeled after is a crypt below Saint Pancras Church in London it’s a Regal place with ancient monuments tombs and probably the Holy Grail Minecraft is known for its boxly ass aesthetic but this has none of that and it’s because it’s all polygons a relatively complex polygonal environments have of course been a staple for developers but seeing them dropped into this cuboid World we’ve all come to know love and explode is Something that somehow Just Hits different for the sake of full disclosure it’s not like this is necessarily a new feature within the engine but the result of taking advantage of some features specific to Minecraft Bedrock Edition hola I spoke with the creator of this map and he told me that this version of Minecraft which was originally released for smartphones has the capacity to support an exaggerated amount of polygons and textures greater than 16k we could go into the technical details of why this is but to save you the time Bedrock is better optimized it turns out the devs rebuilt Minecraft from the Ground up in a completely different coding language so they could Port it to other devices like like the Windows Phone the flag flag has to date currently published two maps of this style the first is the impressive scan of the crypt at St Pancras that we’ve just witnessed and the other a massive Zelda themed map wow give this Creator a lot of love he deserves it links to his socials are in the description by the way turns out he makes the maps in blender and block bench and later ports them to Minecraft but once there he recreates the collision with invisible cubes According to him it is technically possible to import anything you can load in blender into Minecraft wait what if that’s the case where do the possibilities end can you load CJ from San Andreas into blender maybe even the whole map from GTA 5 technically yeah can you imagine the Amount of things that we could import into Minecraft this opens up a lot of possibilities as we somehow once again find a new and exciting way of innovating blah at any time this could be Minecraft this is definitely the Minecraft that will make your RTX 4090 Cry by the way a Little side note this map is extremely well optimized I recorded this on a GTX 1070 TI and it’s not as laggy as you might have thought we are talking about more than 2 million polygons in 16k Textures in Minecraft it might be a heady glimpse into what The future of Minecraft could have in store for us and On a related topic that we can now bring super realistic physics to Minecraft holy that is pretty neat and so you realize that it’s an animation now if you’ve been keeping up with what’s popping in Minecraft you’ve probably Seen this stuff before there’s been a bit of a trend where VFX artists use CG to make Minecraft graphics look brutally realistic through the power of editing that doesn’t lessen the beauty of their efforts but we are probably never going to achieve something quite this sophisticated in game in the near future Or are we hobna is certifiably insane he’s created some of the best mods out there to add physics to Minecraft and make it even more realistic not that Minecraft physics or any realistic to begin with but just check it out ragdolls on the mobs the leftover blocks On the ground interacting with our feet that really gives them a sense of presence in the world realistic simulation of fabrics look at that Cape please liquid physics oh water is so much more Dynamic now it’s beautiful come on my precious you got this just look at the refraction just look at the Waves just look at the uh wetness who would have thought we’d see something like this in a game like Minecraft even the wind affects then check out this new snow effect which adds a uniquely Stark Beauty to the world walking through the snow actually leaves a visible Trail finally My favorite feature has to be how the mod completely changes the appearance of the smoke and more importantly Its Behavior and interaction with the environment CS2 anybody previously smoke would just rise and disappear but with the physics mod installed the smoke slowly builds up and tries to escape Upwards and in the explodifications oh doggy look at them that’s my PC trying to run this mod you see there are those among the Minecraft Community who have given themselves to the laudable task of achieving the best possible Graphics in a game engine that came out over a Decade ago and runs on Java one constant among this illustrious sub Community has been to remove the blocks from the game which at face value kind of seems like trying to remove the marshmallows from Lucky Charms and yet this modern community’s attempt to subvert the entire Foundation of Minecraft somehow works The ultimate immersion is a YouTuber with a passion for mods and fantastic Graphics is just like me for real for real Ultimate immersions eponymous mod is one of the most interesting projects I’ve seen to date it is a long and ambitious project that contains models and 2K textures created from scratch That currently offers more than 400 new modular items plus an update with new items every month The assets boast things like transparency and animated lighting not to mention the fact that they’re even fully interactive blocks you can create almost anything including realistic buildings and an urban environment with endless possibilities take a look at this video on hoddleton’s channel it’s like seeing a photorealistic map from Unreal Engine But like teleported into Minecraft and take a look at this video These are the fruits of tun cz’s labors who is tanzizi why just one of the many super talented creators who use ultimate immersions mods to create eye-catchingly elegant pieces of architecture for someone like him Minecraft stops being a Game it’s something quite a bit more than that it’s a canvas I have a question for all y’alls out there what does a Minecraft like this make you want to do it makes me want to like And subscribe well thank you but I mean besides that It might not come as a surprise to hear that Minecraft has an active modding Community there is always something new to see there’s just something special about a community of Builders explorers and dreamers who come together improve there’s very little that we can’t accomplish when we work together and When we put our own skills on the table and help others we are actually helping ourselves we are making a difference in the lives of others in the World At Large and sure this may sound like hippie dippy idealism to some of you edgelord cynics out there but what’s Wrong dude can’t handle sincerity never let anyone make you feel bad for enjoying your passions more or less developing them further having said that we’ll see you next okay what the hell is that noise oh God Video Information

Today we bring you something that almost NO ONE knew could be done in Minecraft. We explore the graphic LIMITS of the game… It looks so realistic that it looks like a piece of real life inside Minecraft 0.0 and my question is how realistic will Minecraft be in the future?
