Let’s let’s talk about Minecraft now let you know what let’s not if you don’t know what Red Lobster is it’s um a pretty pretty gross uh seafood restaurant chain we’re gonna be collecting um bone blocks we’re collecting a lot for a reason I’ll tell you in a second it’s a it’s a restaurant

Food chain here and um you know seafood at a chain not the smartest idea in the world but they have the best biscuits you’ve ever seen they’re cheddar biscuits and they’re the best they’re the best texture the best tasting things in the world and I I gave them hello

Skeletons ah yes I brought some home for my daughters thinking oh they’re going to be so happy and enjoy this I offered they both spit them out my wife I offered them to my wife she said we’re not a Red Lobster family we’re not a family that goes there and

I’m furious at my family because they should all like those there’s thorns on this guy they should all like those biscuits and if you had cheddar biscuits from Red Lobster you know what I mean don’t you yes you do okay we’re down here I’m glad I’m down here we’re down

Here collecting tons of Bones and tons of bone meal it’s dark oh I saw it on my clock on my hand ah perfect okay no mob spawned yet um we’re collecting the build today that we’re making is going to be primarily out of bone bone blocks yes that’s right

So how have I been collecting bone blocks we’re gonna go more in depth uh on the uh idea and process of the build shortly but um uh bone blocks why well they’re kind of easy to get uh I I have a a skeleton spawner we’re gonna go

Through the wall here real see this is my camera mod little skeleton spawner they all go down here and they don’t get jammed there you go up he goes okay and then they all you know they go up a thing and come down there I also have and this is

Just as efficient in a 10 minute period I am able to collect is just as much bone block out of bone meal no from this I just ran this is my Moss farm and all the Moss goodies come into these uh droppers a bit there and uh

Give me bone meal so I’ve been collecting a lot and I need a little bit more so as a matter of fact I’m going to turn the machine on right now but why do we need so many bones over a chest and a half of bone blocks why well because

We’re going to be working in the industrial area today we’ve been for the past couple episodes especially last episode I did a lot here I made this beautiful covering going into our village and I started getting in a Zone and a feel of like the warmth and this

Village and really in a good flow and then we made this beautiful Greenhouse I made this tree that I think will I will be removing that will be gone maybe moved somewhere else but we made this greenhouse which I love I think it’s so awesome

Um but as I tried working out ideas for expanding on the village I I tried a lot of things I tried like a hanger for the tugboat you know off in the distance no good tried finding a replacement for this nothing that really hit nothing was really hitting home here

Um like this did like when I built this I thought yeah yeah this feels this feels real nice I’m happy about this and I was excited uh that it was in the world I wasn’t hitting a home run with anything until I switched gears and said

I want to let’s try something in the industrial district well and if you don’t know if you’re fairly new to this to the series what I’m kind of doing is I’ve reserved this space up here on this Plateau for kind of all the Farms so in there in that building right there I’ll

Fly to it now ah and the Iron Works building I have four iron Farms down here and they’re all making me iron at all times all the time so I have so much iron so these are kind of my Farms that are producing things for me the Moss shop is

You know or the Moss Building is kind of included in that that one makes mud for me I’ve got uh huge block of mud underneath here that gets pushed down from dirt that gets made up top and it turns into this huge block so I get my mud there

All my stuff I want here um but I came up with a a new style idea and I mentioned it in a live stream the other day I’ve revolutionized a Minecraft building today teachers in school they’ll teach a topic they’ll teach something and then they won’t

Stray from that topic too much and they won’t uh they won’t you know talk about any variables variables or exceptions because it might just make things too confusing you know in last episode I talked about the fact that with that building the greenhouse building I use this concept where if you have all

These blocks in a row same distance apart same height uh you don’t do that you mix it up you know move one here move one closer make one taller make it a different shape and and as you mix those up you get something that’s more interesting well me being the terrible teacher that

I am we’re gonna do the exact opposite today yes so not only will we just have that line of stuff we’re gonna make it even more this is kind of an extreme example but don’t have the every other have it every single one now this style uh architecturally is called brutalism

You don’t have to cover your ears It’s actually an an actual architectural style style of architect texture or art characterized by a deliberate plainness so you’re building something that is deliberately on purpose plain and I think that’s influenced a lot of modern architecture so how are we going to blend that into

Kind of this vibe that we’ve got going on I’ve already got some brick buildings and I paused everything out in this area because I was like I don’t want the whole place to look be all brick it’s gonna be boring what next now I found the idea

Brutalism yeah it’s crazy so uh it seems easy it seems more novice but in all actuality it’s harder I think brutalism very plain and is often you know in buildings it’s like a building that’s all concrete just plain concrete on the outside um the what’s so difficult about it is how

Do you make something so plain look good I don’t have any leaves on me but just let’s use these for pretend if something doesn’t look good you know what we often do we often pretend these are leaves you know and we’ll just cover it in leaves

And then all of a sudden it’s like oh yeah now that looks good right this is doing the opposite it’s fine it’s a take this form that I have made and make this form look good in the simplest way possible oh baby looks evil evil buildings

It’s kind of along those lines right I want this to look cool not necessarily evil but you know factories evil they kind of go hand in hand I think uh I’m very very excited it’s gonna feel like a big jump from what we’ve been doing but

Trust me just trust old B-Dubs at the end of the day it’s gonna look good okay some of you might scream ruined for this world but if you have faith and trust it’ll all blend eventually okay there’s some more exciting I’ve come up with some more exciting really cool build

Things I’m going to start building I want to build a wall I want to build a wall of this to kind of show you an example of how I plan to implement a purely bone block squarish building into this world and make it look good Oh you ever watch those Bob Ross streams sometimes sometimes you know you’ll see Bob Ross on Twitch and uh they just replay some of his old videos the common meme uh in there is people yell ruined whenever he’ll do something that seems a little a little crazy everybody yeah

Ruin ruin ruin and then when he fixes it they say saved uh we’re in the currently in the ruined stage of of this world and build don’t worry we will get to the saved Point soon here it is here’s the wall and and honestly I like it why do I hear hissing sounds

Okay I have to I have to look under me I have to I have to know what all this noise is what is this oh it’s this right it’s that bubble column okay I thought for a second I thought it was um uh the the guardians or something that’s

Happened to me before where a random Temple will spawn underneath your world anyway here we are this is just a fraction of the build but I wanted to get up one of the walls so you could see kind of what we’re uh going to look like

All right very flat for the most part especially we’re gonna still play From a Distance especially on a scale this tall and this big we want to look from a distance and we’ve got a primarily white wall that’s what I want it to look like and I’m doing

Mild light texturing I’ll tell you the rest in the morning now over here looking at this tower look at this big flat wall that is not mild That’s Heavy oh that’s the sound aha it’s I forgot to turn off my Moss make okay I should turn this off goodness sakes it’s probably

Clogged like the Dickens oh sure enough it’s clogged oh it’s clogged hard okay that’s fine that’s fine are we still yeah okay good making bones we’re gonna need a lot of them so this would be considered heavy texturing lots of different colors different brightnesses very bright dark some brownish color in

There and even down there some black almost here very light texturing not going much more than that and even that brown mushroom block that brown mushroom block is too dark that’s too much contrast so I always forget that you can do this but boom that is the inside that rips the skin

Off if you put one next to it they really should Implement something to where you can wax that and script strip the mushroom blocks and the stems and stuff with a right click with an ax but that blends a little better so the darkest we get it from is a stripped Oak

Log on the contrast and of course very very flat and there’s only a couple bits of detail there’s a window straight across at the top there’s a little piece of Machinery right here and then this little shading I implemented a little bit of quartz pillar here to break up this stripe pattern just

Slightly a little bit of drip under the window and then this is kind of simulating that maybe there’s a panel here and underneath the panel it’s a little darker same thing here right just a little darker underneath the panels but for the most part it’s all just flat and boring so here’s

How we’re going to make this interesting and we’re going to do it through this there’s going to be a middle bit I’m going to have a section over here as well and a little bit other section here but the middle there will be extreme detail and let’s

Use these uh bone blocks here and I’m going to use Stone as well it’s kind of like a slider example okay in any of the builds we’ve done like this one over here really any of them we have kind of a mix of like plain and detail and and

It kind of is like a 50 50 mix where you want some playing areas showing and some heavy detail areas and it mixes out to be about 50 50. with this brutalism style we want to change that we had three bits of detail in here we want to

Cram it all in one spot so lots of plane but then tons get all that detail and pack it in like crazy in one small area I think that’s one way of making this style look interesting that we’ll be able to visualize and see in a little bit

But I think another very important thing is that you have to use composition and you have to be very strategic about where you put your little focal points like okay look here look here focal points are going to be places where colors change and uh shapes change and stuff you have

To be very careful compositionally how you do it we’re working our way through this but now we’re going to do this heavy detail spot hey we might do even some more I’ll see I might do the other side as well um but oh it’s there’s a long story not

Long but a very interesting story of how I worked this out let me build it out it’s going to be very difficult but I’ll talk to you a little bit about it after I get that done before I do that though let’s take a quick commercial you’re

Not a ton of detail here not a ton of detail yeah but in this little slice here massive amounts of detail and it actually should make sense don’t turn your iPad on you gotta mute it at least so the way I built this you know everything should be built with some

Reference I had a Adobe Firefly which is like a generative AI thing I just typed into it show me some motherboard pictures it’s raining well it’s okay the so I’ll put a picture of the motherboard that I was going off of on screen so I

Just took a stop burping so I I just took little pieces that I was like oh I can build that in Minecraft so I see this little piece here with these holes in it and it’s kind of bright or silver I try to make that and then like some

Cooling areas and then the thing with buttons and dots on it each of these pieces I just kind of looked at and I was like how would I make that in Minecraft and sure enough we come up with something that actually as crazy it is and I’m sorry about the rain

What do I type Lord please make rain go away all right everybody I’m doing this because Arie asked me she said do the command all right this is this is I know I don’t want to do cheats in this world but this is um yeah okay now it’s all clear

Miraculously perfect okay so now you can see the pieces a little better uh some cords and wires that are going across and connecting to things and then tons of buttons and tripwire hooks I just went real messy because to me honestly looking at a motherboard a lot of the

Other pieces underneath some of these bigger pieces are just chaos it’s just a bunch of globblers so then here also I added like a little vent thing and I think compositionally it kind of works at like an angle here because we’ll have some other things that create angles

Um but this is what I’m talking about now the building’s going to get bigger but from a distance don’t you think this is starting to look kind of cool huh it’ll all tie in we’ll tie it in with a bunch of chimneys and some antennas on top as well

But I think it’s time now you see my motherboard design which I think is very cool for like this kind of um oh I don’t know it’s just a really cool way to make like a mess you see this a lot in Star Wars as well where there’s like plain brutalist looking

Architecture and then big mess in between like sandwiched I think that looks pretty cool anyway I will finish the whole building now and I have to spend a lot of time finishing the whole building because Arie and I are inventing voices together and it’s very important that we do this uh for

Quite a while so we’re gonna build and invent voices So in my world I have a little bit of a hoarding problem I hoard quite a bit and right now it’s paying off in my skeleton farm for some strange odd reason I saved my chain mail I save my iron I save my leather armor and I save my gold

Uh this is going to come in handy right now actually but here is your grand reveal of our first attempt at a brutalist design at brutalism and I’m happy I think this looks so cool man it really like it looks crazy right it looks it looks crazy and style wise but

It’s still fun to look at I still enjoy looking at that we’re going to use this gold for something over there but let’s do a quick fly job and let’s see it kind of from a distance we have kind of a wide uh array of of

You know eras these arches are kind of you know really medieval Gothic feeling but if you ever saw the series arcane there’s a pretty big mix of like technology to Medieval looking stuff oh I think this looks real nice no texture or anything yet on the side and I did

That intentionally just to kind of see like okay what’s it look like all bone block honestly not terrible so some things that I did to make sure this was uh interesting of course I did like the texturing things like I said but then you want your rectangles if you’re working in rectangles

Uh you want to work in like 16 by nine I think 16 by nine people like like that’s how what our TVs are width-wise or three by four that’s what old TVs used to be or three by five you just think of like pictures or or television

Ratios so I would just kind of divide these things up into into sections like that like that one’s behind the pipe there you if we included that that’s the size of your monitor right there and this turns sideways is the size of your monitor so I was very intentional about

The sizes of these things but there’s really not a whole lot going on here it’s a very easy compared to that Greenhouse we built last episode this was a really easy thing to build and of course the back’s not done yet and the inside isn’t finished either

Um that’ll take time we’re just kind of getting our feet wet in this design but I still think it looks really cool so right now I’m going to put on screen an image of a piece of a computer that what an uh artificial intelligence thinks a

Computer looks like okay and I want to try to emulate that here all right so here’s here’s my idea all right and this is this is purely finding a way to put detail on here there’s going to be minimal function of course but uh I’ve got these copper lightning rods there

And if we put these armor stands on here these ones will put at a different height and then I’m wearing the helmet to get those I’m still wearing the helmet to simulate like those gold conductor thingies we’re gonna put These Guys these helmets on here and then these boots as well and

Then it kind of looks like uh that piece I’m also going to just so these guys aren’t floating here I’m gonna piston down some uh iron bars and chains down into these guys heads just a little bit and then on the tops of them we’ll put

These little levers to make it look like it’s going into something but if we stand back now and take a look remember that reference piece that we were going off of we were saying okay we want to build something that looks like this that’s just connected to the side of the building and

I think I think we got it the further away we go the better it looks uh we don’t have you know we just mess with the greens that we have the colors that we have but that really looks like it doesn’t that look like some sort of um cool

Component thing on the side there oh I love that and of course all this terrain I gotta I really gotta clear up all this terrain so we can see everything just a little bit better but I think this looks so cool I’ve had for years and years I’ve said I need to

Go in get a picture of a motherboard and try to build all the pieces in some way it now that I’ve done it I’m so glad that I have because I have all these little pieces in my brain library now that I can use which I think is really cool bear with
