Hey guys it’s your favorite dish beef and cheese and today i’m showing you how to build an underwater airlock as you can see you can swim in and out of this airlock chamber where water will flood in and out depending where you’re going it’s a great redstone build to theme your base but Before we get into the tutorial i’d like to quickly explain some background information on this entire airlock and how it’s built so about a month ago on a recent episode of dear blocky diary i built this airlock for my brother mikaroo and i felt pretty proud of it so i Decided to share it on reddit and then within only an hour of this being on reddit reddit user bro moment were known on youtube as loric actually compressed this build to be one wide which is just insane like absolutely insane okay so go check out lorik and his youtube Channel he makes a whole lot of awesome content a lot of redstone builds if you’re into that now even though this build was awesome i still had a few issues of this build the first one being since the whole build was one wide you could fit it into a wall But it’s not very flush and if you take a look over at my cruise build i wanted it to be flush with the floor the other issue is that you could only use observers for the door as i wanted to use anything particularly on the beef s P iron blocks so i decided to analyze both mine and lorix build to make a flush 1×2 airlock now me improving this airlock design is not necessarily me challenging lauric to make a new and better one but uh yeah i absolutely am actually um if anybody can actually compress this Design even more it’s probably him and a few select others so uh have at it and now with that all out of the way let’s begin the tutorial so to begin this build you first need a house this will do for now and now we have the materials you need for this build I recommend about two stacks of any building block six furnaces or any block that can’t be moved by slime blocks 33 observers 15 redstone dust 10 redstone repeaters 4 redstone comparators a block of redstone 3 hoppers 6 sticky pistons a slab two target blocks two redstone torches two of Any block you want for your door two slime blocks an iron door a button a note block and twenty four of any item you just wanna throw away before you do any of the redstone i suggest that you want to mark off where you want your door to be i want it To be about here place down an iron door or wooden one if you want and make sure it’s flush with the actual sidewall here after that mark off where the little piston door will be and that’s going to be two blocks out this will be the general area for the piston door After that grab your note block go out two blocks place that there after that you also want to go inside and i also suggest making a nice little entrance so you can get in and out go two blocks out from this door and place a button i’m gonna color up this button A bit though i also suggest when building with redstone underwater you surround your area with open fence gates this way you can walk easily in and out and you reduce the risk of water coming in and destroying your work now that everything is ready to build we’re gonna start by digging A hole about six blocks down and three across like this this is just so that we have some room to work with i also suggest going behind the door and start digging it out around here as well okay now it appears that everything is roughly dug out Uh just a really rough outline we really just want some room to build within now we’re gonna go over here where our door is actually gonna be and place under the one nearest to the door two slime blocks going down and then your two door blocks and just Break these guys up here it doesn’t matter anymore we also need to make sure we cover up these slime blocks so place down some furnaces around these slime blocks so they don’t get stuck on anything just like that we’re then going to go to the button on The inside over here and build down two blocks and break the middle one after that place down some redstone dust and go underneath it towards the inside of the house and build down three observer blocks just like so after that place down a repeater on the top like so after that Go out from this observer one out here place down a sticky piston another observer on that then go here and build out ten blocks one two three four five six 7 8 9 10. there we go and now i’m just going to clear out a bit more land up here and place down Some more of these after you built this very long stretch you’re gonna go to the end and build up three blocks and place a redstone dust here after that go all the way back to the starter button and place a block on the end of this repeater go Down and place down two blocks like this and two redstone dust then go off to the side take a target block place that here and a redstone torch on top beside the target block go out four entire blocks and put down three repeaters on four ticks going into this block And a redstone dust right here after that go over to the initial redstone torch place a block on top and go out four blocks go on top of that with your repeaters and place down two with four ticks and one with three place down some redstone dust and go beside it And place down a target block like so and then a redstone torch on top this is gonna be the mechanism that will open and close your door and connect up the circuits all like that shortly after that you’re gonna go from this redstone dust out three blocks and you’re gonna go up from Here one two and then one more down here three and then you’re gonna go from this observer here out another three blocks and then place a redstone dust right here then go down back to the bottom and place two observers running into here and a block Right here now go all the way back to these observers here place a sticky piston with an observer facing up exactly right here on top of that observer you’re gonna place down a slab and beside that slab a block like this then run down some redstone dust across like that After we place down the redstone dust come into this corner and place an upside down observer with redstone dust on top now we’re going to build the little connection to this note block to activate it from the water side go underneath the note block place down an observer And then place down two going in like that okay things are gonna get pretty cramped pretty quick so bear with me here okay we’re gonna go all the way over here and we’re gonna place down one sticky piston like that grab a redstone block and place it right there We’re gonna go up here and place a sticky piston down like that we’re now gonna place two hoppers going into each other just like this and then after that we’re gonna go right here we’re gonna place down a comparator right there beside the comparator three redstone blocks place down a hopper like that Put a temporary item inside of this hopper and then after that place down another comparator with redstone dust and make sure that this comparator is on subtract mode shortly after we’ve done that we’re gonna go all the way back to this note block go to this observer And place down a block at the bottom we’re then going to put down some redstone dust and make sure we place down a repeater on four ticks now we’re going to go over here and place down three blocks like that and put down redstone dust like so This is so that we can place down two comparators like this for a pulse extender to make sure that we get a nice pulse from this repeater on four ticks into this block after we’re at this block we’re going to place down another repeater on four ticks and then two sticky pistons facing Upwards here and that also goes with two observers facing upwards right here this is what’s gonna move up and down our door now we’re pretty much finished this build but we just gotta finish it off a little bit more okay what we’re gonna do next is grab a redstone block break it right Here because it probably got moved while we were building it and place it back here then inside the hopper underneath the block we’re gonna place down 23 items just trash items anything you don’t want and make sure it’s the same item or else it might screw it up Then we’re gonna go back to this observer right here break it and go back to this slab and make sure it’s facing upwards underneath it that’s very crucial then after that we are gonna go all the way back here to our door and we’re just going to prop it back up two blocks And break these blocks back down here now it should all be ready for testing let’s see if it works so it should come up and lift it up then it’s going to start to close it once this clock is finished which is right now it’s going to go back Up and the door will open and close twice the first we’re a warning the second time to actually go through so now it the redstone’s pretty much done it’s awesome now just take some time to cover back up the floor with any building block of your choice and i’ll be back once You’re done with that all right guys so i just did a bit of building just made it look a little bit nicer it doesn’t have to look perfect on this tutorial but it looks a little bit nicer now just note that while you build around this door on the inside Make sure you build the blocks around it out of something that can’t be moved by slime blocks such as terracotta furnaces etc make sure you do that up here on the top as well anyways it should just work like a gif though we’re gonna right click this note Block here and it will open up for us and we’re gonna swim down into the water chamber now the door shortly is gonna close back up on us give it a sec there we go we’re going to get out of that the water is going to rinse out and it all works It also works the same way across let’s just quickly try that out the water chamber is going to flood back in we’re all wet we’re all moist and we’re ready to go back out into the watery world and there we go we got a fully functional underwater airlock i really love this design Mainly because it’s actually pretty hard to break this redstone contraption and it’s super small now it the timing’s a little bit off it doesn’t feel too great sometimes but overall it does what it’s supposed to do and it looks pretty cool so i hope you guys enjoyed this tutorial If you did enjoy it maybe consider subscribing to see more content like this in the future and you guys have a great day Video Information

Beef and Cheese teaches us how to build a compact 1by2 underwater airlock in Minecraft! This was originally built on the BeefSMP for my bro @MIKAROO but I was incouraged to build it again to one up youtuber @lauric
We showcase an underwater air lock in Minecraft. To bad this was not built around the release of the update aquatic, because it may have more need. This build has not been tested on mcpe(mobile/bedrock), thus it’s for Java. It’s also not test in 1.9, 1.8, 1.10, 1.11, 1.12, or 1.13, but instead built in 1.19 the Caves and Cliffs update. This build is absolutly insane and nuts! I personally like this tutorial
