To all the geeks are nerds out there today I’d like to talk about 1.15 and possibly one of the best changes to come to minecraft in a very long time and a lot talking about the bees this new feature is something that’s been pretty pretty well hidden got under the radar Not even would know about it so today I’m gonna talk about it what is this change I hear you ask well is to do this place it’s to do with the nether and how we travel through it so it’s quite common but gas will give you problems Just like this one and what we do is we build we built these tunnels right like this within the nether so we can travel around super fast because it’s it’s eight blocks in the nether to one block than the overworld and we have these tunnels to protect us and it gives us Ways to travel fast around our world and also what we also have is we have we have these never-never hubs in the center which gives us options of where we want to go so we have a whole bunch of portals inside and also sometimes they go up to all the cardinal Directions and yeah makes it easy for us to travel super fast but in 1.15 there’s been a change which may mean that these nether hubs and nether tunnels are a thing of the past or at least they are here in this location because now we can Build them in a much safer place and this is it change to how nether portals work but before we get into the details of that change and let’s how quick recap for those that are new that may not know how nether portals work so this is how You build a frame it’s made of obsidian so – obsidian on the bottom and then three along the side and then you light up with a flint and steel just like that and when you hop into this this purple area you’ll be transported to the nether And a common thing to do is to look at the block underneath here pressure f3 screen and you’ll get a bunch of stats this is your debug screen and on the left hand side you’ll see there’s a line towards the bottom that says looking at block and in this case we’re looking at 1168 that’s the x-axis 75 which is the Y and 184 which is the Z and to get the corresponding coordinates in the inner nether because it’s eight blocks to one you divide the x-axis the first one by eight and also the last one the Zed axis By eight as well that would give us some new coordinates and then that is where this this port will be in a nether so was get rid of that and let’s hop into the nether and check this thing out here is the portal that generated on the nether side and sometimes these things Don’t get placed in exactly the right position there’s a bit of randomness to it so let’s check our numbers so from the overworld we had coordinates of 1168 on the X so if we divide that by 8 we get 146 on the z axis we had 184 if we Divide that by 8 we get 23 so if we look here at this block and press f3 we look at a look at that block we can see these numbers are slightly different so the looking at block here is 1 4 5 83 23 so With the y axis you leave that the same so that should be 75 so in fact the the perfect position for this portal to link up perfectly is actually down there if that saw which is that is the place that that’sthat’s the ideal location I guess You can say now that we know about the ideal location of a portal we can now talk about linking them up to the overworld so what the game will do is it will when you hop through a portal in the overworld it will look for a portal On the nether side as close as possible to the ideal location of that portal and it will link up to the closest one so in this case there’s only one portal here so we’ll link up we can break this and move it somewhere else and it will link Up again and if there are two portals as I said it will pick the closest one to the ideal location of this portal so what we can do now is we can move this somewhere else and we’re going to move it to a much safer place where we can Build and yeah not be endangered by lots of nasties from the nether if you put some blocks on your bar and pull it up we are going to now move to the safer place and that is the nether sealing so this is something that wasn’t possible before but 1.15 this change makes it Very possible indeed so what we’re going to do is pillar up and then we’re going to dig all the way up here and go all the way till we get to bedrock all the way to the top of the nether sealing once you hit bedrock all you need to do Is to clear out as much of the nether rack as you can in this kind of area and you need to look around for a particular formation of bedrock it’s it’s it’s relatively common so you should find it without too much bother but what you’re looking for is two blocks like this Together and they need to be at the right at the right Y location so if you press f3 screen again and look at the look in that block you’re looking for two two-bit rock blocks like this next to each other where their y-coordinate Is 1 2 7 so if you look at my looking at block it says 1 2 7 on the y-axis for these two right here and this is going to allow us to get on top of the nether now before you do that make sure you’ve got some obsidian with you and Also a flint and steel because if you don’t the only way back is death so make sure you prepare before you do this now how we’re going to get on then on the nether ceiling well we’re going to pin up a little bit so we’re kind of level with it just like this And now you’ve got two options one option is to use snow layers the other option is to use an enchantment table so you can choose the way you like but I’m going to choose the snow layers all you need to do now is put down five snow Layers one two three four five get yourself a ender pearl and throw it on top of the snow layers like this you’ll then be here like this and if I get rid of my f3 screen for a second and look at my face hello-o you’re in the in the bedrock but You’re safe and you only take suffocation damage if your head is in the block and at the moment we’re not so we’re cool and now once you’re in this position just press jump and jump again and we’re on the nether sailin and they’re very nice very nice now what we Need to do is we need to build a portal up here in the right location and here is another portal on top of the never ceiling and the reason this is safe is because mobs don’t spawn on not on bedrock and so when you build this pool – one thing you should do is put something along the top to stop mob spawning on tops off but slabs up here you could also put carpets but anything that’s going to block mob spawning and then we can lock this up and this this portal is in the ideal location but why Coordinates isn’t the same but so everything else is so if we press our f3 screen you can see on the looking at block one more time this is positioned at one four six twenty one to eight and twenty three so obviously the y-coordinate is higher than that it should be for ideal Location but the rest isn’t and so this is inside the sphere of influence of the of the ideal location and so the change in 1.15 is that least linked up to the overworld and back again now previous in previous versions that didn’t work that way you couldn’t get back on to never Ceiling from the overworld but now you can so now if we jump into this portal we should end up back where we started in the overworld and here we are just came out and there we are back here again and now we can jump through this Portal and we should end up back on the never ceiling and yeah so this can be a nice safe place there we go back on the nether ceiling so now instead of building our nether portals and I’ll never hub inside the nether where we’ve got all the nether ACK to dig out and We’ve got we got gassed and lasers and all these horrible things we can now build up here so imagine imagine building a nether hub up here and all tunnel you don’t have tunnels but imagine you’ve got sir maybe I spoke roads or or piston bolts or whatnot all on top of the nether Ceiling nice and easy and you can build your portals and yeah maybe never even go to the nether again so there we have it a new change to 1.15 that makes things a lot easier I find a couple of things to mention and that is that first Of all this is not a bug this is an intended feature this was reported on the anima yang bug tracker on the bug number MC one six zero six seven seven and it was marked as won’t fix so that means it’s an intended feature so that Means we can use it and if ever this breaks in the future then we can report it and it should get fixed so this is the way of the future I think and I really can forward to it this is going to be super cool so one of the other Things or two other things while this is important is that it makes breaking bedrock a lot less important because most of the time people would break bedrock up here in the ceiling to get good access but of course now we can do it through the portals and another good Reason is that this is a great way to transport mobs around so historically that’s been pretty hard to get get mobs to transport through the nether you know through the nether rack and all the obstacles there but now we’ve got a nice clear area to do it just put just put Them into a portal lay down some rails put them in a minecart and yeah you can move them to anywhere in your world pretty easily so this is gonna be super cool and I’m looking forward to what what people come up with but anyway that is the end of the video I hope you enjoyed it and if you did then please hit the like button and if you’re new then With the release of Minecraft Java Edition 1.15 – Buzzy Bees, there is a little known new feature that could change how we travel around in our world! We normally build tunnels in the nether to protect us while we travel, but now we don’t need them! Now we can do all of this above the nether ceiling where it is safe!
In this tutorial I’ll teach you the change, and how you can get onto the nether ceiling in survival with just some snow layers and an ender pearl.
