Hello everyone it’s chaos here and uh today i’m going to be giving you a quick tutorial on how to build with terrain now i noticed that on our server a lot of people typically do this so ignoring the fact that this is a terrible build because it’s just a box of of wood

And an on cobblestone and and just ignoring the fact that it’s a box um basically this is what i see um this part right here is is what i don’t like um and of course this part back here and i mean the whole build is just anyway

Ignoring the fact that it’s a terrible build again um oh my god i’m having too much fun with this um basically uh a lot of people tend to super flat stuff so this area is pretty much super flattered it they basically have this i want to say 18 by 18.

I i don’t remember what plot size that this town uses but basically um all the plots on this town are super flat so uh basically if you look this is all this house is all on one level this house is all on one level uh this one’s all on a level

And it’s just sort of uh sheared off so we’ve got this little uh thing here that doesn’t look great and then uh back here we’ve got uh this just sort of wall you run into and uh that’s the same with this so um basically i’m gonna be teaching you how

To uh build better yeah that’s that’s what i wanna say uh how to fix this and uh so building with the terrain now i’ve got a few spots picked out um this right here is one of them um this is going to be the general basically what that town’s doing over there um

Yes so i believe yeah that’s north okay so um i’m gonna paste at my house here because i already have a house and bam into the house okay so um i just finished building this house and uh if you look it kind of uh it’s hanging off on one end and kind of

Indenting into uh this land over here on another end now this end actually isn’t too bad we could probably get away with uh just smoothing out the uh the land over here a little bit um but say you run into a problem where uh if i were to have pasted the house here

Where uh it’s cutting into like this whole landscape and it just it looks awful over on this side because it’s all all terrible um basically uh that’s kind of what i’m gonna be going for on this side so what we’re going to do is uh instead of just simply carving away the landscape

We’re going to bring the landscape on this side up to the house so we’ll just put that back what this does is it makes it a little bit more natural so uh you don’t have to necessarily have a pathway around your entire house uh just built it right next to the landscape really

And if you’re hanging off on one side so this side over here pretty much what you can do you have two options you cut you want to find the middle ground in your build all right uh what that means is um you want to do an equal amount of bringing your

Build to fit the terrain and bringing the terrain to fit your build so uh what we’re gonna do here is um we’re basically gonna extend the build down uh what i mean by that is um pretty much pretend that your build was still continuing on so keep the pattern just uh going down

And uh we’ll take these off so basically we’re going to be heat tool on okay so we’re going to extend the bill down a bit and now we are left with this and as you can see it already looks a lot nicer uh now one thing you want to do is

When you’re making a build you want to make sure that there is no uh dirt below your build so uh the build cuts off here you wanna like these two are the problem ones here so you have two ways of fixing that you can either extend your build down again which uh

In this case i think extending it down uh past one below the original height extending it down past here would uh not look too good so um you could also bring the landscape up to fit the build and what that does is it makes it look a lot more nicer

Uh you can bring the landscape up even another level and again this is just an example so i’m not smoothing anything out or you know being real uh real perfect with it but um it makes things that look a lot nicer uh say your build was

Kind of off a very big cliff or if you have a plot in a town and you had for whatever reason you had to bring it down to uh sort of an uncomfortable level uh even though it’s brought down quite a bit and uh this this part right here is the the floor

Of the build what you can actually do is you can modify your build to make it even better um you can add say a um a basement uh so this this level right here is the floor so if you go inside the house uh that would be the floor level um so

Keeping that this is the floor uh you could build uh stairs going down and so then that would take it under the build and uh then you’d have your basement or mine or whatever back there and you could build doors here staircase going down uh you could do one of the uh

Old kind of looking cellars kind of like that um again when you’re going down you notice that uh you have dirt under your build uh this is air so that’s fine uh but you continue with the pattern so uh the one that’s below this would be wood

So uh you just kind of want to keep your your build uh looking all right and then if we just went and uh cobbled all this off uh you’d have your uh thing here and then of course you’d replace that and that with a cobble or whatever material you’re using and if

I were to use stairs which i not quite sure if this is gonna work or not okay it works um and so basically these uh it’s just a lot of tweaking the uh terrain really and uh to fit your your build so uh this is just a placeholder um we’ve got a little

Uh kind of basement here um that’s kind of an old uh rustic seller i think generally it goes up a little bit though kind of like that and then there’s uh the doors i’m not really sure but basically um you just have to play around with it really

All right so this is going to be a another example of the house so we’re just going to go ahead paste it here bam insta house uh all right now this is something i see so much on the server um is let me just grab wooden axe because i am kinda lazy

Uh we’ll go with that we will go with that uh what people will do and it will look horrible is um bam there’s my house so this is the problem i have with builds on minecraft on our server on on every server uh is they do this

This does not look good at all all right uh a lot of people hate building in mountain biomes because they can’t figure out how to how to get it to work now um basically and there’s so many people that go after planes biomes and then they still can’t

Build guys it’s just it’s horrible basically what we’re gonna do here is we’re going to uh build on this mountain without screwing over the terrain um yeah so what we’re gonna do is build a we’re gonna try to build with the terrain here on this one um

Let’s see we got some oak planks um grab some of this we’re going to i think i was on speed 4 so i was uh going a little bit too fast for uh building stuff basically what we’re gonna do is we’re gonna add a floor here

Um this is what this would be the floor in your on the inside of the build too um this is something that you can do it’s not just for building mountains okay this is not the only idea you can do for building on on mountain biomes but uh

This is just something that i’m doing you can sort of build a balance type thing so it looks kind of like it’s being supported on this side obviously you’d use different materials to sort of mix that up and you probably wouldn’t be supporting an entire house with wood you’d probably be

Using stone or stone brick um but uh this is a quick tutorial i’m not going for perfect stuff here um so you could have something where it’s just kind of jutting out of the wall like this and sort of holding it up uh another thing you could do is

Um you could use sort of these pillars and i use this a lot on my dwarven builds where i have things that are kind of coming out of the wall and everything and you use sort of pillars and obviously these would be thicker and you have to make it look realistic

On this so uh these would probably be made out of stone as well i guess you could get away with doing this but it would be kind of thick it’d be it’d be thicker and um if you just sort of uh make it pillar shaped uh just sort of something

That’s holding up the house uh you could do that on that side you could do uh pretty much whatever you want to do but just don’t super flat stuff because super flatting stuff is uh horrible all right so here is actually good an amazing example of uh

The idea i just showed earlier with the pillars and hanging off a sort of a steep mountain basically the build over here starts on level ground and uh as you uh enter the uh build it’s all it’s all flat inside so uh it’s not like it’s a house it doesn’t have split

Level or anything it’s got all that stuff um coming around to the side uh you see that it’s got it’s hanging off a uh sort of this hill and it is being supported by these uh pillars on the uh on the back side here and even the middle and uh

It it follows the same thing as the the first pillar here and um it sort of it makes it look uh like that like these are actually part of the build here which yes it is part of the build but um if it was a super flat you wouldn’t

You wouldn’t have this sort of depth to the thing you just have this kind of wall here and it just wouldn’t look great but with uh this uh these pillars here actually it adds a nice feature here um you still have uh it’s still part of the build so it’s it’s not dirt

Or anything it’s all it it’s part of the build um if you were you can just walk under it too as well and um that’s sort of important i’m pretty sure he’s gonna do something with this later on because he’s got a cave down here and all this stuff but basically um

You can walk around under it and everything and it’s kind of similar to the the basement idea that i uh said earlier and um yeah it’s uh looks really nice under here too it’s being lit up by stuff and it’s it’s great um but yeah so that’s uh

Building with the terrain for you guys uh i hope you enjoyed and uh no more cobblestone boxes so that’s yes no more cobblestone boxes no more dirt boxes no more super flat any of that stuff got it probably not but um i hope i hope someone at least one person

Can build you don’t have to build like you don’t have to be like a a god a building like like frog is but um you don’t have to be such an amazing builder it’s just the little things that make your house look good and that is all that you need to know

For building all those just little minor tweaks make things so much nicer and that that is the key to building better
