EnderIO Dark Steel Tools, Painter, Botania Alchemy — Minecraft Revenge Episode 13

Hello everybody welcome back to the show i’m doing some mining but my pick here is about to break this is actually a pretty good pick it’s that efficiency and unbreaking on it i got it from an infernal mob that spawned i think it was one of the geomets

But as i said it’s about to break and it’s just a matter of time here before it does so and there it goes so i figure it’s about time for me for me to make a new pickaxe and to do that i’m going to go ahead and make the dark steel pickaxe

From ender i o dark steel is an alloy from ender io it’s created from iron coal powder and obsidian now obsidian is sometimes the hardest thing for me to get anyway because i don’t have a diamond pickaxe yet with which i can mine obsidian however i did find six obsidian in my

Dungeon loot and i had specifically been saving them didn’t use these to build my nether portal because i knew i would probably need them at some point in time however in addition to the sixth obsidian induction loop i also found three pieces of dark steel anyway so i’m

Actually going to use those obviously i would use those instead of making some new ones right now and there’s the dark steel pickaxe or just called a dark pick but that is the dark steel pickaxe now if you remember i found ender swords which are the swords made from dark steel

In the end i o mod and at that time i said that while they were useful as you can see they have about the same generic characteristics as a diamond sword and the same thing with this pick it’s about the same as a diamond pick in fact it will line up sitting i

Believe as it is the true power comes in upgrading it as you can see where it says now the anvil upgrades to empower this dark pick i need a vibrant vibrant crystal and 20 levels and they happen to have 28 levels the vibrant crystal is made from emerald one emerald

And some vibrant and a vibrant nugget so i’ll make that real quick the first thing to make is the energetic alloy gold glowstone and redstone and turn the energetic alloy into a vibrant alloy by combining it with an ender pearl now that i have a vibrant alloy i need to

Turn it into nuggets and i surround put those nuggets around a an emerald like that and that’ll give me a vibrant crystal so the next thing i need is an anvil all right anvil is made and if i put the dark pick in here with the vibrant crystal as you can see

For 20 levels i will be able to empower the dark pick and i can rename it as well and i don’t think that costs extra um levels and there we have it a dark steel pickaxe that still says dark pick on it i guess it doesn’t actually get renamed

But that’s something good to find out all right so what’s special about the dark pick now is you can see it has the empowered ability and if i hold the shift here underneath the durability first of all you’ll see that it can store rf power up

In this case up to 10 000. you’ll see that when it is powered with rf it has a plus 2.0 efficiency and then it gets a plus 50 efficiency to break obsidian but doing breaking obsidian will cost 1 000 of the rf below that in blue you’ll see that in

Power that’s the power that that’s the special ability that it has and as you can see that means it can store up to 10 000 rf 75 of the damage the durability damage that the pick takes will be taken through the rf as opposed to the actual durability of the dark pick

And then you can center that i can i have further upgrades that i can make to it by adding a compass a basic capacitor with 10 more levels i’ll go to empower two which will actually mean it can store even more rf i can use an ender crystal to give it

The travel power and i can use a diamond shovel to give the spoon power the spoon power means that it will dig dirt a bit as well as it digs the regular stone and ores that you would usually use a pick for so the first thing i need to do is

Charge up my dark pick because as you can see it only has it doesn’t have any rf currently stored in it and there are as far as i know there are only about two ways to charge up something in the ender i o mod now obviously if you have a mod that

If you have a different mod such as uh thermal expansion or anything that uses rf that has a way to charge items this that will probably work but all you gotta do is put this into the basic capacitor like so and it will begin charging up as you can see and pretty

Quickly now it’s at 10 000 rf you can see there are two bars under the dark pick one of them is for the amount of power stored in it and the other is for the durability as you would expect it to be incidentally the other way

To charge it up is with something called a wireless charger there it is right there and the wireless charger will as it says here charge the items if they’re nearby and in your inventory which of course would be great you put one of those in your base wherever

You’re at and it will keep it charged up let’s go ahead and show how this works i’ll run up here so remember now that it’s powered it will be it will have a higher efficiency level which means it would it should be mining faster than it would without it

And i’ll just bind a few blocks here like so there we go and so now if we look at the dark pick you’ll see my durability is down by one point but my rf is down to by 750 points and i think if i mine this we can look at it again 91.75

So is it using about 75 per per about per uh action looks like it so again the you know three quarters of the damage 75 of the time the durability damage will come off of the rf as opposed to coming off of the durability which basically means that

Your pick should last about four times oops where is it at about four times longer than normal and since it does have the same durability as a diamond pick you’re basically at something that should last you four times longer than a diamond pick as you can see the mining speed is

Pretty good it’s not bad at all and what’s more i believe that the diamond pick is repairable if we get out a another piece of dark steel and go over to our anvil put in the pick and the dark steel yes you can see now the durability would

Go back up to its full amount so i’m not going to do that now of course that would be a waste of this piece of dark steel but obviously when the durability gets very low i can repair the dark pick obviously i could do that also with the iron picks or anything else

It’s just that the dark pick is much better uh suited for for that because it has so much better potential and abilities so what i’d be doing next is upgrading it with the basic capacitor and i need i’m only at level eight now so i’ll need two more levels

And that again like i said it will give me the ability to store even more power which means less time or that that it would use up the power oh what am i trying to say it will be able to store more rf which means i’d be able to use it longer before

Running out of power and having to recharge it now when you do run out of power with it all that means is that the durability damage will come directly off of the pick and no longer have a chance of using up any of the rf one thing i’ll show you here i talked

About needing to automate better my farms because the farms you can see here my farm that generates my hooch is not running at the moment and that’s because you can see the tool tip over the farm there’s no hoe in it i’d have to put in a new hoe and as i

Mentioned in the last episode that’s the same problem i have with the tree farm and i have to keep supplying it with axes and that just means it’s not automated and i don’t like that of course i want it to be automated so i’ve changed

What i’ve got here and you can see i’ve got three crafters this crafter will take birch wood and turn it into planks this crafter takes planks and turns them into sticks and this crafter takes those sticks and planks and turns it into a wood axe now obviously a wood axe is not

Oh ideal because it doesn’t last very long but this gives me the benefit of having this be completely automated when the farm which i’m still struggling with power i still have not sent power from my hooch farm to here but when the farm chops down the trees

That birch wood will have will go into this crafter first if it can and if we go in here you can see that my insertion i’ve used an item filter it’s for wood but the insertion is at a priority of five the next place that wood would go would be to

The smelter and that’s just got a priority of zero so the first chance so the first choice will be to go into this particular crafter the crafter will only store as much as it possibly can which in this case is only the 64 wood so once this is full it

Will not put more birch wood in there and instead send it over to the smelter then over here i’m using an item filter to put in birchwood planks and i think i don’t need that anymore i’ll have to look at that because i changed the channels to pink as you can see here

On the extract it’s always extracting but it’s extracting on the pink channel and that should mean it would only have options of going into the pink um anything that has a pink channel on the insertion so i’m pretty sure i can take these item filters out and it should be okay

But as you can see once it makes the birch planks it sends some to this crafter and some to this crafter this crafter again it’ll only store what it can to make sticks and this will only store what planks it can and sticks so essentially the first thing

The farm or this whole system will do is to send birch into this crafter to create another to create more axes or another axe and any excess birch wood goes to the smelter which again gets burned down into charcoal placed into here and then that charcoal comes out and goes into

The botania area there and speaking of the britannia area i’ve changed this to utilize more of the ender i o abilities what you’ll see there is a pressure plate and that is hooked up to a redstone conduit as you can see it’s it sends a signal on a red

Channel this one does the same except it sends that signal on a brown channel now piped into this open crate are item conduits working one on a brown channel and this one working on a red channel so the colors are matching up the reason i do that over here attached to the chest

That has the charcoal it you’ll see i’ve got redstone conduit and item conduit coming in one on the red channel which is for this side here and the brown channel which is this side here and what these conduits say is it the item conduit is told to extract to the red channel

When there is no redstone signal from the red redstone conduit signal so what that means is that when there is charcoal on this pressure plate it’s sending a signal through oh i should have said the brown is the same setup so i should be using this side anyway when the charcoal

I just got blown up by a creeper oh goodness oh half my glass is gone all right let’s fix that in a minute i still need to secure my base here a little bit better obviously i think this is because of one of these areas they can climb up

Out of okay anyway i’ll fix that in a little bit uh what was i talking about okay so when there is charcoal on this pressure plate now i’ve got to look around and be paranoid then it’s sending a signal through the red redstone conduit it blew up this area too gosh dang it

All right um and so when so this item conduit is set to extract when there is no signal from the red redstone conduit so when there is charcoal on that pressure plate it’s sending a signal which means this is not active when the charcoal gets used by the endo flames

Then there will be no signal coming in on red and so this says extract when there is no signal on red and extract it to the red item conduit channel so that means it will extract out charcoal and send it to that open crate which will drop it again so when

The charcoal gets used no signal comes through which means send me charcoal goes to the open crate and drops down which then turns up turns that off and so i’m trying to use more of the ender i o powers as if you might recall before what i had

Here was a basic redstone setup that could be done in vanilla which is of course not a bad thing but at the same time i want to use the ender i o where possible and so basically that means that now i do have a completely automated

Wood farm for my charcoal and then that completely automates sending charcoal into my botania setup here for the arcade to do so i can do my mining i’m low on glowstone dust and going into the nether really scares me fortunately botania has a solution which is called alchemy

And if you know anything about alchemy you know that alchemy is the idea of changing items from something into something else and i believe it’s under let me see let’s just go to the there you go alchemizing with mana what you can make is something called an

Alchemy catalyst you can see here it would take a man of pearl ender pearl gold and a couple of brewing stands fortunately i have blaze rods from the nether from the time that i did go into the nether and all you do with the alchemy catalyst is place it underneath

Any mana pool and that will turn that mana pool into having the ability to do alchemy now it can still do everything else that a mana pool can normally do but it also has the ability to do alchemy and i should have kept the book that was silly

In this in the botani it shows you all the things that you can do so for example i can turn rotten flesh into leather i can turn wood of one kind into wood of another kind and various things like that but the key element here for me is

Where is it where is it where is it right here i can turn glowstone into redstone or redstone into glowstone and of course redstone is still a somewhat of a precious commodity but i have enough of it right now but i don’t mind turning some of it into pieces of glowstone

The next ender i o machine i’m making is the painting machine a little expensive because it does require a diamond but we’ll take that out and i need to hook it up to power what the painting machine does is it will paint an item to look like another item

I think that’s kind of the best way that i can describe it so for example let me first of all get out the rest of this glowstone and i’m going to turn these into glowstone lamps eight of them should be good i also want to turn this into birch wood so

In the painting machine this left hand slot here again you can do capacitor upgrades with it this left hand slot here is what you want the item to look like so for example i want something to look like a birch wood plank and this is the item where you would put

The thing that you want to look that way so in this case i’m going to put glowstone in there now it will process through it’s not too long apparently and now i have a painted glowstone you can see it’s painted with birch wood planks so what happens is

This is a birch wood plank it looks just like a birch wood plank however it’s actually a glowstone you may have noticed when i put it down there that the area lit up a little bit better i might do a better example of this in my house because the floors

Actually what i’m going to do is i’m going to make three more of these real fast and then i will go over to the house well uh i had forgotten that i made the floor of my house out of oakwood and not birchwood so i now have eight painted glovestone

Glowstones painted to look like birch wood planks i don’t think i can reverse this process let me find out right i don’t think that i can change it back well i’m gonna go through with my experiment and i’ll just have to fix things up later not experiment what i wanted to show

So as it is now the house is lit up with torches and if i turn on the if i press f7 to turn on showing me where mobs can spawn then if i remove these torches start on this side we should start to see the squares that we’re so familiar with

Seeing that tells us where mobs can spawn so take out all the torches along the wall here like so there we go and there we go and my oh so gloriously built hanging chandelier which really really looks bad and i always thought it did but it

Was the only way i could light up the center of the house without having a torch in the center of the house so like that all right now you can see these are all the spots where the mobs can spawn but i can take this glowstone painted to look like the birch wood

And put it there and you can see how it got lit up that’s because this is a glowstone block it’s just painted to look like a birch plank so we can place another one say right here you can see now that is lit up and a couple of more should ensure that

My whole base there and probably just right across from it i’ll fix the symmetry on this later i just want to show how it works there there you go now the whole base is lit up again with glowstone but glowstone that was made to look like wood

Obviously if i had made these the right kind of wood you would just see wood planks and you wouldn’t even be able to know that these were painted that these were actually glowstone other than the fact that they provide light i’ve redone the floor in here with the

Proper wood and again looking around it’s completely lit up i still do have the f7 turned on it’s completely lit up but you can’t tell which one is the actual painted block and i’m not going to tell you now if you have something like wayla installed i believe it will show you

When you look at it that it’s a painted block but i don’t have whale installed in this pack of mods that i’m using so that’s what it looks like with glowstone that’s been painted to look like pieces of wood and you can paint the glowstone to look like the bricks

And so if you just want to use glowstone to light up a base but not make it look like you have glowstone lighting up your base i you can paint them to look like these bricks i don’t know necessarily that the painting machine supports every single

Mod so not all mod blocks may be able to be painted but at least the vanilla ones can and probably some of the mod ones so that is actually pretty neat now i want to note that you can use the painting machine to paint a lot of different things

I guess i could paint a birch wood plank to look like an oak wood plank as you can see there not sure that there’s much really use of that could i make nope can i make that no um i know you can make stairs and then you

Could paint the glowstone onto stairs so it would be glowstone but it would look like stairs i could paint this brick to look like an oak wood plank there’s probably different combinations that you can do i know you can paint things to look like a fence or you can paint fences to look

Like something maybe i’m not exactly sure essentially there’s a lot of different things you can do with this painting machine the only one that i really find to be useful there you go well that’s pretty neat actually that’s a fence post that looks like a brick so aesthetically there are probably many

Different combinations and things you can make to to look a good way the useful one for me is that glowstone making it look like something so i can clean stuff up and not have torches all over the place which is never really a pretty sight the other powerful use of

The painting machine is in making is in conduit facades so i take some conduit binders in a square and that’ll make me some conduit facade and what a conduit facade is kind of what it sounds it covers up the conduits so for example in the painting machine now i believe i take

Brick here and one conduit facade there and that should make this conduit facade look like a brick yeah there we go so now if i take this i can put it somewhere like say oh here oops there and so now as you can see it looks just

Like the brick next to it but it’s actually a facade the conduit is still running in that block now i can take my yellow wrench and if i hold my yellow wrench in my hand you will see it it will sort of make that block transparent to show me

That there’s something in there right so i’ll make a couple more of these now you can’t turn slabs into looking like something else like conduit facade so this design i have here won’t work but i can put this in a little bit deeper but now you can see how that facade

Again it’s still there the i’m sorry the the conduits are still there but the facade nicely covers it up to make it look like there isn’t anything there and the nice thing is that these again they act just like conduits so if i placed a machine right against this brick wall here

It would actually receive power from the energy conduit that’s inside of it okay and i can i finished putting in these brick facades behind each one of the machines so you can see before you could see this little gap behind the chest these these machines are full

Block so you really don’t see anything but now it all looks like brick back there and i can i made this conduit facade for the cement on that wasn’t really necessary now that i think about it but that’s okay but let me put down my slabs like so

And there it is so the conduit facades are a great way to run your conduits to your base and then sort of cover them up in some way shape or form now of course you can’t make conduits invisible there’s no invisibility block now there might be in some other

Mods i don’t know but that’s possible but i can do the same thing over here now this i’d have to change i’d have to run it through a wall or something along that those lines but i can obviously put up facades here to sort of clean up a little bit of this

I might not do that because it’s not super critical to me but the conduit facades and the painting machine are basically ideas that are for the aesthetic purposes of your buildings and in making them look nicer by not having the look of conduits running all over the place but you actually

Do have them running throughout the base i just made it to 10 levels so i’m gonna go ahead and upgrade my dark pick again and again here’s what’s nice about this mod when you hit hold down the shift over the item it gives you so much the information

And it tells me what my upgrade is in the end while i go to empower two with a basic capacitor and 10 levels i’ve got the 10 levels i made a basic compassion basic capacitor and there we go i now have a dark pick within power 2 and what does that mean

Now i have 15 000 rf so again stores a little bit more power which is nice and there you can see i can go to empowered three with a double layer capacitor and 20 levels i can keep upgrading this dark pick now i’m i also believe

And i could be wrong on this and i won’t know until i get to the point where i can do it but i also believe that i can enchant this dark pick which would give it even more abilities and power if you want to call it that

The other dark steel tools work in the same way again the ender sword can be upgraded by making it empowered there is a dark axe and then there is dark the dark armor which does it if you have any eye installed and you go you’ll see that

There’s the one that you can make and then there’s one that shows you the the maximum when you’ve upgraded it so as you can see if i let’s go to the pick since we’ve already seen that if i uh keep upgrading my dark pick to where i

Have empowered 4 that means it’s going to store 100 000 rf the spoon power again allows me to use it as if it was a shovel and then the travel allows me to use it to teleport between travel anchors which we’ll talk about at a later time

If we go to like some of the armor for example the dark leggings i can get it to have speed 3 making move faster the boots give flippers which makes you swim faster and jump allowing you to wow triple jump that’s that’s pretty neat you can do gliding on the chest piece

Get night vision on the helmet so it’s pretty nice you can get these powers but it’s not as simple as just making it you do have to keep adding or upgrading these items in the anvil and each time you do it it requires some number of levels as you see here if

I want the to be able to travel with it i have to have an inner crystal and 30 levels to get to empowered three i’m going to need a double layer capacitor and 20 levels i think it’s a nice blend of requiring materials which some of them can be difficult to obtain

Or hard to come by or require certain things like ender pearls or things that that you would need to to either mine for or kill mobs for and then also needing some levels to do it as well it’s a nice blend of that it’s it’s an upgradable equipment that isn’t super

Powerful too easily unless of course you have automatic farms and things of that nature i suppose but again i just think it’s a really nice blend of saying yeah it’s not just about adding materials to it you also need to have levels and it’s not just levels allowing you to enchant

Something say it’s levels plus an item so anyway i like i said i just think it’s a nice blend it’s a nice way of doing upgrades to equipment but that’s going to do it for this episode i hope you liked it i appreciate you watching again thank you very much
