I’m gonna do it I’m gonna shave this disgusting thing off my face hi everyone Anthony Fantan oh here the Internet’s busiest music nerd and it’s time for another edition of let’s argue where I hop on the internet I take your hot takes unpopular opinions and tough Questions and I respond to the best ones in our legendary let’s argue segments which you are watching right now let’s go minecraft music is better than 90% of all modern music I don’t know if I would go as far as 90% but the c418 soundtrack is amazing like it is it is legitimately Great beautiful gorgeous instrumental and ambient music and it really makes playing the game much more pleasant and enjoyable than I think it would be if there was just no soundtrack or a different soundtrack it’s it’s a it’s it’s an amazing soundtrack easily one of the best video game soundtracks of all Time and if I had to review it I’d give it at least and hate at the very least at the very least so I mean I don’t know I’m on that score alone yeah I mean I could say they better than at least eighty percent of what is is typically Out there emo is just white people blues white people blues that is actually country music emo is suburban white people blues get it straight gorillas is just blur for weaves okay guys I get it there’s there’s a template blank is just blank for blank it’s not that Interesting okay it’s not it’s not a good argument just because you say something is blank for blank or blank of blank doesn’t make it a good hot take you get out of this segment what you put into it if what you hand me is trash you are Gonna get trash so come on let’s let’s let’s hold ourselves to a higher standard okay please the NFL having maroon5 play at the Super Bowl halftime show Atlanta is a national tragedy yeah I would I would put it up there with um you know insert some horrible news event Which if mentioned would probably put me in a lot of public hot water sure sure I would I would like in those two things cold chela is the future of festivals if you guys don’t know what the hell cold chela is it was literally an online minecraft Music Festival where even acts Like Anamanaguchi were build and there was a lot of hype around it there was a lot of hype around it unfortunately I couldn’t quite make it to the music festival myself but it was pretty inspiring and interesting to see that whole thing transpire and go down as Successfully and as well enjoyed as it did now I think that this is certainly indicative of the fact that so many things these days are just kind of matriculating online well I think that this could potentially be a full and total replacement for just really experiencing a great organic musical Performance in person not necessarily but I do think that this could potentially be a way forward for artists who want to promote themselves online get their music out there online to collectively create this experience for people who enjoy a certain thing can come together and celebrate that online As a community and and that’s the thing I think like Coachella can be really great but it doesn’t necessarily have to be a replacement for music in the live setting it can be its own sort of thing even though it’s kind of billing itself as as a festival of sorts The worst thing a fan can do is pester an artist to release a project tweets like drop Astroworld are the dumbest and most pointless things I’ve ever seen as all it can possibly do is rush the artists into releasing a project before it’s perfected or they ignore it altogether yes definitely drop Astroworld honestly while I do think that there is a grain of sincerity to it a lot of people sort of repeating that over a we’re just kind of doing it for the meme much in the same way that the whole Jenny de thing was going on and caught On and Death Grips even fed into with the whole Fashion Week release you know honestly as far as rushing a project and getting it out there and hurrying perfection I think that there are more weighty outside factors to that outside of fans just being like boom drop the album just Just kind of the saturation of the mainstream music landscape putting artists in a position where they can’t really take five years off to drop their next project they can’t really take three years off a lot of them because album sales really aren’t what they used To be and unless you drop a classic that people end up listening to like crazy for years and years and years on end there’s there’s always going to be a push there to come out with your next record pretty quickly because you know you’re gonna need to kind of keep the Streams and keep the interest up in what you’re doing because that’s just kind of the business model right now everybody’s put in a position where they’re constantly making and listening and I don’t know it’s it sucks I guess keeps people from taking a break but to circle Around to your point here I mean I guess it sucks and it’s kind of annoying but I don’t think it’s as detrimental as you’re making it out to be the hierarchy of harder to replace after a member of a band leaves or dies goes vocalist guitarist bassist drummer I mean III Think this is a case-by-case thing there are some great bands out there that have just totally replaced their vocalists look at iron maiden for example look at Black Sabbath for example and and both artists have come out with good records with different vocalists I do see your Point here as far as vocalists ago because I think the singer is more often the member of the band that most of the audience kind of identifies with because a lot of music listeners are not and they’re most likely in acting or enjoying the song by singing along with It but again to the other members of the band and hey let’s even open it to a horn players and so on and so forth again case-by-case basis because it all depends on what the role that artist plays in that particular band if the guitar player routinely in the band is Not as technically sound or as amazing a player as the drummer typically is or if that band isn’t really known for their guitar playing but more their drummer or whatever the bass guitarist brings to the the band then it’s it’s going to be harder to replace that particular member That brings the most to the table musically and as far as just licks and and memorable musical moments to the records I think who is easiest and hardest to replace depends on their level of talent how unique they are as a musician and and what they bring to that Band’s records I don’t think anyone can name a song by vic mensa this is sort of in reference to that whole Takashi 6-9 situation where he was on the radio waves talking about his beef with Vic Mensa and he went around the the radio studio asking people to name a vic mensa Song because hey vic mensa is irrelevant I don’t care about dementia he was just kind of disrespecting vic mensa and was asking everyone in his immediate area to just name one single vic mensa song and nobody in the studio could he was pulling a people outside of the studio And it didn’t seem like they could either and and honestly at the time that I was watching the video despite the fact that I’ve reviewed a couple projects from the guy I I couldn’t I couldn’t name vic mensa song either so kind of in the same boat I said I Encourage you if you are still watching this video at this point too if you can off the dome in the comments name–a vic mensa song then do it and if you can’t then just leave a comment saying I cannot name a vic mensa song the only reason you continue to do this segment Is to show off your bass skills whatever do you mean I don’t know what you’re talking about what are you talking about I thought you said let’s agree this week what I don’t want to fight I want to agree ok I’m sorry next next one will be agree I Forgot music review channels are unnecessary everyone’s brain is developed differently and some music releases serotonin and some music doesn’t there truly is no way of telling which music is good and which is bad well for one I don’t think a music review channel the purpose of one is Merely just to say well these musics is good and these musics is bad if that’s all you think music review channels are and do that’s kind of a really shallow perception that being said though I think saying that some music releases serotonin and some music does it just because some people’s brains are Different is kind of a really reductive way to look at how music is made and how people enjoy music I wouldn’t say that music enjoyment merely just comes down to whether or not your brain is wired properly you’re also kind of ignoring that a music review channel or a music Review website can provide a service in terms of reviewing more obscure stuff underground stuff trying to shine a light on works and artists that people might not be talking about or running across otherwise and I don’t even think that’s the only purpose that a music review channel can serve so again Horrible tweet much more unnecessary than music review channels I’ll say that much and I am going to leave it at that this has been another episode of let’s argue hopefully you guys got a lot out of this one over here next to my head is another video in the let’s argue series That you can check out hit that up or the link to subscribe to
