FTB Sky Odyssey Ep. 1 Best Skyblock Modpack?

Hey guys welcome back this is Joe’s are kicking today we’re to be playing feed the beast sky Odyssey so I hope you guys are ready when you first get started and ready to go in this pack which as of right now I am still playing an early access version of the pack

It will be out very soon so keep that in mind be sure to check the description below so you guys can find out when the pack will be released but anyways I want to kind of go over the starting screen just a little bit so those who may be

Confused on how to start will know how to you’re gonna click the create from template as of right now this is just a test screen this will on final release be done and you can go in here and you’ll have different categories as of right now we have the easy normal and

Challenging map and then of course the test map which you can use to test things out and of course you can rename when you click this you can click create new world and you’re good to go I already have a couple made up so I’m

Gonna go ahead and show you a little bit of a sneak peek as to what these couple of worlds look like from what slowpoke is said to me there’s gonna be about eight of them or so and what he plans on is user-created maps can be made for

This and then be added as the pack progresses so that’d be really cool but anyways I’m gonna kind of show you the the easy normal and challenging mode and then I’m gonna tell you which one I’m gonna pick so here we go with easy so as you can

See with this map we are gonna get two chickens in here and a rooster and we’re gonna give some water or water lava it looks like clay gravel and sand and then we’re also gonna get a coal flower we’re also gonna get a iron one and I believe

A stone one and as you can see it’s stuff is catching on fire and you get some grass which is great so you get these mystical agriculture crops which are very very helpful and like I said this is on easy mode you can get a couple of flowers which is really nice

Nothing other than that is very special about this and these may be may be able to change over time you don’t know or I don’t know as of right now so just keep that in mind and these are Finn’s tents also keep in mind this is on easy so

This one is normal mode as you can see you get a couple of flowers and you get some more grass you also get clay and gravel as well on this one but the only thing it looks like you’re missing is iron on these mystical agriculture crops you do get a

Stone one and you get a coal one other than that you’re kind of kind of missing on iron compared to easy I’m you Soviets and and you get one chicken which should be pretty easy for you to get another one and I think you get a rooster it looks

Like either my rooster I either killed the rooster but I think that rooster comes spawned in with to help I remember correctly and these are all named so you’ll have to check out the names of the chickens whenever you do actually spawn your world in which is kind of

Interesting other than that you get the same stuff which is pretty cool so the challenge one is this map and this is actually going to be the map that I actually start on so let’s go ahead and get started you guys know what to do on

This one you have no grass you have just some sand some gravel no clay you have a place to make some cobblestone it looks like over here and yeah these guys just roam about so I hope they don’t hop into the lava or anything can you can you get out of here

Wendy please get out here I don’t want this thing to fall off or go into the lava and it’s so close I’ll be anyways let’s go get started of course we have to worry Steve ate some trees and hope we get a sapling that is yeah it’s an

Orangey thing oh good we got a sapling which means we can break this down hopefully get some more saplings look at that I’m gonna place down a bunch of trees because our works really really well in here so this is the shift-key the twerking simulator has been really

Vamped and upgraded and should work very very well and of course allotting us a lot of wood nice okay so let’s go ahead and make yourself crafting table as always that’s one of the first things we always need to make and one thing that I definitely want to do right away before

I before I forget is make some sticks and let’s get a little fence for at least this fella before he walks himself off the edge right I don’t want this guy to do that of course they don’t have enough so hopefully I he doesn’t walk away too fast

Cage right now least this one I’m not too concerned about the rooster yeah this this pack is EMC based just it’s very very similar to how sky adventures was EMC base but there’s a lot of new changes into this pack one being well let’s just take a look at the quest book

So I did hit I set a hotkey for the quest book which you can open up your inventory and hit quests here so I went ahead and open up my quest book and here we go we have oak wood and when we claim this first thing and a sapling which is what

The task requires we’re gonna get a random reward now you’re wondering what’s this random reward well this is the new money mechanic and we’re also going to get a sky odyssey book now this right here is a few pages and I just kind of want to talk you through them so

On our introduction I’m gonna put the page up you can pause and read it if you want kind of talks about how the pack was developed we have our shop tab it kind of talks about how the shop works like I said you can pause them and read

These tabs custom mob additions loot crate’s how the loot crate system works I’ve kind of already went through all this and read them we have also the beast coin miner which is actually knew how the power flower works these are all new things that are going to show us

Basically how to use some of the cool things that are in the pack so this book is very handy believe me and then the entry index it kind of tells you everything alright so we got a mystical we got a mystical fertilizer this stuff’s really useful an apple some

Saplings um that we have and one thing we need to make okay because I’ve kind of take a look at some of these quests is a chest and then take this and bam make yourself a basic drawer the reason I want a basic drawer well the

Next quest which you don’t have to do these in any specific order but I mean some of these stuff that some of these things do have like a crafting order is to go ahead and get herself a transmutation tablet and then I’m gonna talk a little bit about how the shop

Works right because we’re gonna need this we’re gonna need to learn about this shop since this guy by the way says this guy’s over here I’m gonna see if I can’t push this rooster in here and go ahead no no no no chicken and why do you have to do this to me

Whatever rooster you can stay there you need to get back in there you you chicken man anyways so let’s take a look back here we had our transit ation type table right super cool now we can store a lot of different things in here that

Are gonna help us out and one thing we definitely use another chest because we’re gonna have a few things that we can’t actually store inside the transportation table so we’re gonna need to be able to store it in here there we go so we have this started right which

Means we now have access to eggs so the chickens not so important little windy and also Greg that’s not that important but what we can do is go ahead and get ourselves some wood tools we can also spawn some more trees something we can definitely do respond some more trees

Because that’s gonna be an easy early EMC route that we can take well I said EMC in this pack is not going to be too difficult to obtain the old ways of obtaining EMC have been dramatically changed in this pack and al but things such as this tree all of this super

Super easy to get a little bit emc look at that this whole stack is 2,000 so yeah it’s not gonna be too difficult to get a bit of emc stored up in here but when it comes to getting this water over here well we don’t have access to iron

Bucket just yet technically we do have access but I’ll explain that here in a second what we need to do is get a little bit of cobblestone because we just smelt things what we can do is we can get a barrel or a bowl I mean and

Carry some water first I want to make this cobblestone gin and ready to do that you just need to do this very simple you don’t need a very fancy cobblestone generator either and we need to make yourself a bowl right and then make sure to EMC this save it to your

Tablet we’re gonna take one of the bowls and I’m gonna pick up the water hold shift oh and just like that that’s where you don’t want to mess up you should have probably covered that hole first but we need to come down here and then place

The water in now we’re good to go we can break that and that’s gonna generate some cobblestone perfect and we are rockin and rollin so go ahead make a pick the only thing only all I need is literally one one cobblestone and I no longer need that cobblestone generator

Basically it’s so nice when you can do that so all this stuff can be saved and now we can pull out the cobblestone we can make yourself a cobblestone pickaxe if we want where an axe honestly wouldn’t be that bad either either way doesn’t really matter too

Much can I get you in there I’m gonna try this whole episode to get this guy in a cage he is just on a rampage on a rampage just not want to do what I wanted to do all right so we have that pickaxe doesn’t really matter that

Doesn’t matter too much but well we do need to worry about is well getting a few more things done today I wanna definitely talk about like I said the shop and what these about this ax beast coin is used for all so we’re gonna unlock a few of these quests one being

Make a mop farm it’s a mom mattress here but you won’t get the mom master till later on probably as it requires diamond or you might be able to get it in the quest cuz this offers you a random reward so it’s really good to get a mob

Farm going because getting one of those is not going to be too difficult so now we’ve got a little bit of cobblestone we should be able to pull out a bit of that and use a cobblestone generator or not a cup some generator use the cobblestone from our tablet

To make herself a nice little mob farm all right chicken don’t don’t go nowhere same with you rooster I know you’re waiting now you’re ready ha ha ha so we NAB those guys all right so like I said we’re gonna go ahead and make yourself a mob farm and I’ll explain to

You the best ways of doing that I guess I could say the best procedures or best way to go about making a mile farm I normally do this in every single let’s play that I do when it comes to Skyblock anyways so let’s go ahead and talk about

That right so cobblestone read a bit of it we’re also gonna need a bit of the slabs now slabs in Minecraft or at least in in EMC packs are just slabs are just not even seeable that’s pretty straightforward also you hit Y on your keyboard you can

Turn your mini-map on or off I’m going to put this going in the north direction this probably won’t last very long as the this mob farm will definitely be changing so let’s go and place this slab on the bottom side be careful to fall off and then I’m gonna do this because

I’m gonna be standing over here most of the time so if I go over here and I’m gonna say this right here 1 2 3 4 5 I need you came up 24 out 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 so it’s counting with chosen 14 15 16 I

Think I skipped 1 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 and 24 so 25 and 26 will be here I’m not too concerned about those numbers specifically but what I’m gonna do is place these here because I know this is where my spawning platform is actually

Gonna go and having a I mean I can go ahead place these here but having a pick would probably be a good idea as well and what I’m gonna do is I’m gonna actually extend this and we’re gonna get this heading back over here and I’m

Gonna explain how to build this thing so for most easy to set up mob farms I’m gonna have three here and I’m gonna put three on the side this is going to be our base platform for this and building it without flight it’s not that if called we should be able to manage

Pretty easy so one two three which is going to give us a nine by two platform I’m going to come out one more block we’re gonna raise that up one then raise it up one more and then this is going to be our bordering area now we’re just

Going to surround this whole thing leaving a one block wide gap between the bottom block and this block should be pretty simple to understand there just go all the way around pretty sure I set this up properly we’ll find out whenever we drop down there we go

Drop down and realize that this actually has to go up one more block and so does this so yeah that’s typical of me what I can do though remove this block remove this one make sure there’s nothing connecting and then fix our mistake so this actually needs to go up a solid

Block and then we’re gonna repeat that same process until we have it one above so like you said before you can take this here up one and up another and that’ll give us a nice little space there and then just repeat that same process so after then you want to take

It up one more block and then just cap it with some cobblestone slabs or slabs or whatever type say you want to do it with wood to make it look a little bit nicer whatever go for it do whatever you want doesn’t really matter I think wood

Slabs would actually look pretty good on top of here just to kind of give it a different color texture but anyways we’re gonna throw some slabs down here and then we’re gonna drop back down it’s okay if we take a little little damage will we’ll be able to definitely fix

That very soon we’re gonna fix this and this is almost mob spawn ready so we’re gonna follow up and get all the way around the sides here and you want to go about three or four out because you don’t want to fall off of this and wind

Up hurting yourself pretty bad from this now there are some wands which would definitely help out here so I might actually go make one and show you guys how effective the wand can be for this even a simple stone wand so super simple cobblestone wand is going

To dramatically help you out so it’s going to make one of those simple Juan here BAM stone wand this is just gonna let you do a 3×3 I believe can so you be able to pull this out look at that it lets you do even more than that so I’m gonna pull

This out of you giving you about a three wide gap from here you want to have a pretty decent space to and then three basically don’t count your main space same on this side giving yourself a pretty wide gap and this wandering really really helps super SuperDuper awesome there’s that

And we should have enough oh yeah totally have enough I have to do one more run back to the base just a nice little hop skip is all it is it’s like I said it’s only 24 blocks away and then we’re gonna give ourselves some

More and like I said right here is where everything is going to happen this is gonna change everything place labs right on the bottom side that way mobs can’t really see you but you make this room completely dark and you can still hit them from down here just like that the

Room is now completely dark we hit f7 and see that all of this is red and as long as it’s red I mean that means mobs can spawn during the day and night in we are golden we were ready to go guys so all we gonna do is wait for some mobs

To spawn and get herself prepped why we were while we’re waiting though let’s talk a little bit about this shop that I was hinting about earlier so you see this beast coin miner right this is going to require some power and overtime this beast coin miner here which we can

Hit are kind of see this guy right here is going to like give us more of this currency for a cost of of RF power and the cost gets exponentially more the higher and the more bits at mines or the more beast coins of mines I’m gonna end

Up calling it Bitcoin every time but anyways whenever you get one you will get a reward for it so buying it almost pays for itself in doing so and there’s a little way I want to kind of take this I want to go Bitcoin miner or be scone

Miner and then also go to the generator because once we get those two things we can kind of start generating more coin which will help us later on so let’s go into the shop we can enter the shop here or from our menu and you can actually

Search for any of these so here is the beasts coin miner right top but you can search for like iron ore and you can find iron ore so all those things are gonna be listed here but like I said I want this beet beast coin miner it’s

Gonna be 500 currently I have 704 so I’m gonna take of them there we go and that also unlock that quest so it’s pretty much pays for itself and yeah we got even more out of it for completing that quest super super awesome so it’s pretty much best to get

That one right away and then we have the coal generator well the coal generator from actually additions is going to require black coal or not black coal black quartz or and we’re gonna need to buy that with some of our currency and that’s gonna allow us to be able to make

This cold jittery we’re missing one more thing iron we need iron so another thing we have to get because most of your origin stuff is gonna be done here and we’re gonna need to get by your nor of course so one iron order is a hundred pretty

Simple there and we have those it actually gives it to us in our inventory pretty cool let’s go ahead and get some of that cobblestone and of course we’re going to need eight of these to make herself a simple furnace just like that I’m gonna do a little bit

Of a trick here we’re going to take this make it super simple now this pack is not meant to be something that’s super super long-lasting it’s not going to be a super long pack you can beat this pack pretty quick from what slowpoke said I’m gonna be taking my time like I normally

Do kind of going through each mod kind of enjoying the pack in what it actually is loving the EMC aspect trying out all the new features there is tons of new things in here EMC has been significantly changed and you can think Latvian for that the e ex mod from the

Project e^x mod has been dramatically changed I can’t wait to talk more about these things that you see here I mean look at the EMC count on that it is absolutely off the walls but these things also generate a huge amount of EMC the in-game all this stuff in here

Is leading into one in-game thing and I can’t wait to show you guys that as well like you said here in the next few episodes we’ll definitely get into that and man is it gonna be fun so we’re making some tiny charcoal we’re gonna go ahead I’m gonna actually emc this so

That way later on we can double our or output same for that you want to make sure to save everything because you know regardless later on you may want to pull some of these things out like a wand maybe I want to pull the wand out later

On you never know maybe I want to pull some iron out of course I’m gonna want on your nin their irons gonna give us a bucket for one thing let’s go ahead and do that a bucket is gonna be really handy because early on if we want water

We can store water in here now we can have a water bucket right the thing is I need to empty that water bucket there we go now can store our actual bucket and I can get rid of our cobblestone generator because now I have infinite lava

Just like that so we no longer need that over here we don’t need this little setup that’s going on you can actually remove that as we go perfect so back to the shop I think we have most of that stuff done we definitely have our quartz

We can save that we’re gonna need a piece of that we’re gonna need four pieces of iron some sticks and the rest for the cold gin is actually going to be two pieces of charcoal and six pieces of cobblestone it’s crazy that I remember these recipes because I’ve done them so

Much the cold gin doesn’t require an iron casing I’m gonna save that because you know we know that we might use this later and make herself a cold gin and bam there’s the cold gin and since we have some charcoal charcoal super cheap let’s go ahead and lay down our beast

Coin miner and we can actually understand more about what this thing actually does Beast Boy miner can go here coal gin you can go here so I can always see if you’re running or not we’ll throw that in there and this right here is what it’s going to do the total

Cost for the coin cost is going to be four thousand RF so when it hits 4096 RF it will generate one coin which is going to increase her balance by one but like I said this will be exponentially increased over time once we’ve mined a certain amount of be squints of course

As you see right now it’s only fueling this thing it like s 30 RF a tick I do believe if I remember correctly I can’t remember exactly what the RF a tick is on this coal generator but it’s somewhere in there I think it’s the same as All the other generators which I think they might say this one doesn’t really say on it does it no it doesn’t the coal generator sixty Architects so it’s producing sixty RF tick this is the same as this cold generator right so to keep in mind early game resources they come

From the shop and then right here we’re gonna get yourself a rated reward and we see we got some more of those beast coins and like I said those nice bones are very awesome because that is how you’re gonna get your creative items there’s all kinds of stuff like this

Cheater stop metallic on all kinds of cool things in here that are really gonna be awesome super late-game items but they’re gonna be really cool also we have the finale this is what we’re going to work towards at the very end and this is going to take us to a

Different dimension and yeah I don’t actually know exactly what the dimension is I’m sure it’s an overworld type thing hopefully it is the overworld but that would be super cool alright so let’s take some iron here and a stick we need to get ourself a sword and what better

Than a good old-fashioned iron sword and let’s go ahead and get some apples it’s apples we’re gonna bash some mobs let’s go ahead and take out some mobs and with that many moms being over here oh yeah we shouldn’t have a problem at all look at that can’t wait till he gets in

Derp pearls we get all this stuff can be eating seed alright gotta avoid the skeletons hitting the creeper so that’s what you don’t want so that’s why I do this method where I bounce back and forth of course if I get these wide swings I can hit them damage more I’m

Looking for that chest right there we just got one awesome and they’re right there is going to unlock a pretty decent reward for us there’s our loot crate we just got that reward him and hopefully we get lucky it looks like we already got mob heads brains the only thing we

These random rewards and oh my gosh we got an unbreakable wand I don’t think it gets better than that that’s that’s a pretty good reward right there so yeah no lock up fluid stop man can place tons of blocks that’s actually a really good rule heart let’s open our

Loot crate and we got an automated torch from Betania her animated torch have I what I have never seen one of those it’s a redstone torch that is animated why have I never seen this from battalion I’ve played so much with potamia Wow I would manapad okay very interesting so yeah

That’s a thing that we end up getting like I said the mob drops are gonna provide so much stuff so make sure you get a mob farm up and automated early on and you’ll be ready to go a couple of other easy quests is this loot crate opener so which will automatically open

Those loot crate’s that we get I’m you can see we get a quest book here and I believe a quest book can be easily purchased for one of those bit mining coins and just a bit of wood and all a stone pick so yeah nothing really difficult there and that lets you

Gather some more coin like all this I was pretty simple to do the chicken breeder is super easy now that we have bone which means we have access to bone meal right I mean all this is just common knowledge which means we can now or excavate this and get a bunch of

Seeds flowers anything we need right there right and so we have water let’s take the C’s really need one and know what a couple pieces of wood couple sticks you can make yourself a hoe pretty simple that and looky there we already have some wheat which means we can pull out

Of about a stack of wheat turn that into some hay bales also law mat it make some bread so with that done can do like three of those and some wood all right where’s our where’s our would at see chicken breeder yet just for our some seeds

Some wood in there we go and of course the EMC goes right back and there’s some more reward for us so all those are super easy for us to achieve and of course we still have these guys that are making some stuff for us now eggs right this seems like

Something we might need if I just toss some eggs in here if I can get them incorrectly I’m gonna spawn some more chickens I don’t mean to hit you rooster sorry but if I have chickens in here later on I can kill me a couple chickens get some feathers get some chicken cook

The chicken have chicken to eat pretty useful and also we have an unlimited amount of eggs so getting chickens was a hard part in some other packs I’ve played not so hard now uh-hum since you start with chickens which is super super awesome the chickens mod is also in here also I

Wanted to talk about this this is something that I’ve wanted for a long time so say you’re wanting to make the atomic Reconstructor and you’re inside your guide if you just hit are over the item needed I’ve waited so long for the the jei integration oh my gosh it is so

Happy I’m so happy to actually have this feature implemented also if you hit you over it it’ll show you what it’s used for so now you can directly go in your inventory and craft it oh and you don’t even have to leave the menu like yeah it
