What’s going on gamers today we’re going to be installing individual mods onto our apec servers if you’ve been playing vanilla minecraft or using a premade mod pack it’s likely that you’ve already explored all there is to do why not start exploring into customizing your server further a great way to customize Your server is of course by adding mods whether you’re adding them to an existing mod pack or to your current forge set up adding mods is a great way to open up new possibilities mods can be added with just a few steps and we’re gonna walk you through each of them so You can build your dream server when running a modded server don’t forget that you need to have the mods downloaded onto your minecraft client this also applies if you’re adding additional mods to an already created mod pack in order to run mods on your client you’re gonna need to install a Forge client side and of course we’re gonna be getting our mods from an official website such as curse forge or the mod authors official website doing this ensures that you won’t get corrupted files or viruses we’re gonna be deciding on the mods that we want by of course looking at the version of Forge or minecraft that we’re working on the server that I’m working on today is a 1.1 2 version of Forge so we’re gonna go ahead and click on the 1 point 1 to point 2 and then from there we’re gonna look for a mod with some dependencies Just so we can go over some basics with you guys scrolling down we’re gonna look for a mod that is called storage drawers very simple mod not too crazy but if we click on the page we’re gonna see a whole bunch of stuff scrolling down we’re gonna see that it has versions for One point one four at one point one to the beta means that it’s running but it may not be perfect there’s probably gonna be some errors and then the recommended means that this is their best version that they’ve come out with scrolling down you see more mod scriptures and stuff this isn’t really What we’re looking for so let’s head all the way to the top yuuna see descriptions files images issues source and then relations the relations tab you’re gonna see that there is a dependency and then from the dependency types we can see what is actually required and of course it’s Still gonna be chameleon but we’re gonna need to download chameleon and storage drawers I’m gonna go ahead and recommend that you make a folder for this specific purpose so that once you download storage drawers and chameleon you can put the files into here so I’m gonna go Ahead and show you how to download if you had two files or even just a description tab it’s gonna give you the versions that you want as you can see right here it’s giving me the game version 1.1 2 which is what we’re looking for so I’m gonna go ahead and Download that what’s the file is downloaded make sure to keep and then slide it into your folder that you’ve created for this purpose and now that we’ve downloaded storage drawers the mod that we want we’re gonna go ahead and head to the dependency which was chameleon for our mod had two relations And make sure that you don’t need to download any additional mods from here you can see that there’s no required dependencies so head to files and as you can see this is the correct version that we want but by scrolling down on the page you can see the recommended Recommended beta for tons of different versions of Minecraft scroll up and then hit download and then it’s gonna be the same process with this go ahead and keep the version that you want and then click and drag it into the mods folder now once we’ve downloaded all the mods and We’ve set them aside in a folder we’re gonna scroll down on the main multi crap page and make sure that our jar file is on the version of Forza we needed to be on you can either scroll up on the drop down or just type in F or our GE and Then from there look for your server jar version once you’ve selected it go ahead and it save and then from there you’re going to need to restart and then start your server once this is to create the dependencies for your Forge so that it’ll actually have a mods folder if you Into FTP file access now you would see that the mods folder does not exist so once we get the online check right here we’re gonna go ahead and stop the server so I’m gonna go ahead and stop the server and then head to FTP file access once it’s fully stopped In FTP file access go ahead and login and then from there jump into your mods folder in the mods folder hit upload and then open up the folder where you have your mods all you need to do is click and drag them into the drop files part Of the page once you’ve uploaded your files as you can see here I’ve uploaded two out of two of my files I’m going to go ahead and head to the name of the server and then back from the main page I’m going to scroll down and change the Name of the world this will create a new world which is what’s needed when you change a forge version because if I went on the world that was vanilla it may corrupt some of the files and that would be super not cool so make sure to save And then restart your server so now that our server is up and running we’re going to make sure to copy that IP and then jump in at the server and as you can see we’ve loaded in the world wonderfully and our mod is definitely working here I got these storage upgrades and they’re They’re all working so what’s next then well now that we’ve got this all up and running we’re gonna go over some common issues you may have encountered so if you’re not here with your mod or even this mod then I understand but we’re gonna address it we’re gonna go over Some common issues you may encounter during this process one of the uncommon issues is an incorrect forge version the mods you’ve uploaded to the server may not always be compatible with the forge version we have available from our jar selection if this is the case you’re going to need to install the correct Version of Forge to your server manually and of course as always we have a link under the video that will send you to a tutorial on how to set up a different version of forge there’s a number of things that can cause your server to run incorrectly or not run at all servers Can crash up on startup which can be common on forge servers if they aren’t set up correctly this can be due to multiple issues most commonly is like a duplicate mod miss dependencies or incorrect mod versions and sometimes servers can get stuck on loading for the same reasons this Happens a lot especially when you remove or add mods most of the time in console you’re gonna see something that says missing ID errors so we’re gonna go ahead and hit restart on the server just to show what kind of things can go wrong right now I don’t have chameleon Installed on the server so if you go to console on the top left eventually it’s just gonna tell us that there’s an unexpected exception or it’ll tell us that especially for this case because I don’t have the required mod that there’s a fatal missing mod error so scrolling Down you’re gonna see that the server starts stopping and that there’s crash reports being made so what we need to do is stop the server and make sure that we have all of our required mods in and at one point you may have gotten the incorrect version of your mod I’m gonna Go ahead and restart so we can see the errors that come up when I put in the wrong version of one of the two mods that we’ve uploaded heading into console we’re gonna go in and see that something definitely has not gone correctly wrong version for chameleon encountered an unexpected exception scrolling down Wrong minecraft versions wish and then it’ll say mod and as we can see here it’s telling us which version we’re on and what version we sent in so all you need to do for that is on the main web page for a chameleon scroll down to the Recent files and make sure that you get the release the recommended version for your mod that is compatible with your server so sometimes when you’re modifying so sometimes when you’re modifying the world or modifying the mods the server’s gonna get stuck in a loop so if I go ahead and restart it to Show that it gets stuck in a loop and then I head into console the server’s gonna try and start but it’s gonna constantly say that it is stopping as you can see here this world was saved with Maude chameleon and Coe chicken but they’re not in the server so Things may not work well or things may not load correctly the server is not starting up there’s no online check what I can do to get around this is head to the text and then type slash FML space confirm and then hit enter this is going to tell the server to continue loading And as you can see we have the online check and we’re all good to go I’ve gone ahead and I’ve uploaded the same mod to the server twice so when we head into console and we look at what Forge loads up and what Forge doesn’t load up we’re Gonna see an error that says something along the lines of duplicate mods scrolling down here we can see that uploaded chameleon correctly but there was an unexpected exception that being that there are duplicate mods on the server one being chameleon and then when being chameleon so what we need to do is stop The server head back in the world go to FTP file access login head into mods select the one that we don’t want which a which there the same file so I’m just going to delete the one with the longer name and then head back to the name of The server and then restart and if we just wait here everything should load correctly it’ll be indicated to us by this spinny bar right here and then it’ll say something along the lines of online which means that we’ve done everything correctly well folks that’s all I’ve got for you today don’t forget To check out our multitude of tutorials and blog posts on ways to learn how to set up your server properly thank you for using an
