Here’s an enchantment that has big differences between java and bedrock editions hello and welcome to another easy minecraft tutorial my name is jd and today i’m going to show you how to get and use the sharpness enchantment sharpness can be put on swords and axes but this is one of the differences Between java and bedrock on bedrock edition you can use an enchantment table to put sharpness on a sword and i’m not going to get it on there because smite you can’t combine with sharpness let’s check this one again we got smite uh but golden swords also smite and we’ve got some Differences here well what we can do of course is use an anvil with an enchantment table you can get up to sharpness 4 but you can only get sharpness 5 with an anvil except in one case i’m going to put sharpness 5 on this and sharpness 5 on this but It is possible to get sharpness 5 with an enchantment table on a golden sword or a golden axe but it is also possible to do this i’ve got a sharpness 4 sword and a sharpness 4 book and there we go sharpness 5 sword apart from enchanting a book you can obtain sharpness by Fishing finding one in a loot chest or from a librarian villager you can also find sharpness 5 swords in encity and bastion remnant chests the main purpose of sharpness is to increase damage now there is a major difference between bedrock and java edition so i’m going to demonstrate it on both but In java edition sharpness adds 0.5 times the level plus 0.5 extra damage while in bedrock edition it adds just 1.25 extra damage that sounds a little simpler doesn’t it well what it does for sharpness 5 java adds 3 damage that’s it but in bedrock edition it adds 6.25 damage So we’re currently in bedrock edition i’m going to demonstrate how many times it takes to kill a ravager with a regular sword so we got one two three four five six seven eight nine ten 12. oh 12 times let’s try with a sharpness five sword here one two three four five six seven Seven nice now let’s try in java edition so here’s the regular sword got one two three ah there’s three four five come on five six seven eight nine ten eleven twelve thirteen thirteen it’s a bit more isn’t it and this is sharpness five here one two three four Somehow he’s escaping five six seven eight nine ten that took ten keep in mind that swords and axes have different damage in bedrock and java editions but the added damage applies for both weapons in each respective version so what do you think does bedrock edition win or do you prefer java’s less Powerful enchantment let me know in the comment section below if you liked the video then please give it a thumbs up and if you’re interested in seeing more easy minecraft tutorials then please consider subscribing we’ll see you next time bye bye Video Information
