How to Play Minecraft Bedrock Edition with Your Friends

Hey everyone welcome back to the breakdown today we’re gonna be talking about how you can play minecraft bedrock edition with your friends if you heard that right we’re gonna show you every single step of the playing minecraft bedrock edition together with your friends in this video we’re gonna also

Show you a few different methods we’re going to show you how to you know actually go ahead and get a bedrock server up and running if you want to start your own dedicated bedrock server we’re going to link out to how you can do that but we’re also in this video

Going to be showing you every single step of playing minecraft the easiest way possible with your friends on bedrock edition and that’s just inviting them to your single player worlds so we’ll be going over all of that in this video but before we do get on into it i

Means is every edition of minecraft other than minecraft java edition can play together using what i’m outlining in this video right java edition cannot play with bedrock players in this way now there are ways to make a java server joinable by bedrock players and we have

A link in the description down below on how to do that however for the purpose of this video java edition will not be able to play with bedrock edition bedrock is you know minecraft for windows as well as minecraft xbox one playstation 5 nintendo switch ios android any of those devices can play

Together and that’s what we’re going to be talking about in this video again though if you do want to allow bedrock and java players to play together you can start a java server and allow bedrock players to join and that is in the description down below on how to do

That anyway that’s kind of all of the fluff out of the way how exactly do you do this well let’s go ahead and jump in game and start playing minecraft with our friends so now we can transition into minecraft here and we’re just a normal minecraft bedrock edition world

So if we go back to the main menu here we’re going to be able to see that this is right here the test world from the main menu click play and join whatever world you want it’s our test world that’s we’re doing into but you can join

Into any minecraft world of yours that you want and you can invite friends and they can play with you so here’s how you want to go ahead and open up the pause menu right like so then on the right hand side you have this big basically invite to game area right

Click this invite to game button and then it’s going to open up all of your xbox friends that you can then invite to now you will need to add a for add someone as a friend in order to invite them you can do that by clicking add friend and then entering in their

Username here for example test test and then you can go ahead and say hey this is test test we want to go ahead and send them a friend request and we can do all of that right so awesome stuff there simple and easy to go ahead and do that

However if someone does accept your friend request while you’re in this menu sometimes they like to not show up and in those cases what you need to do is go ahead and quit out of minecraft open it back up and then you should be able to invite them after they have accepted

Your friend request for example if we come down here and invite patrick we can go ahead and send one invite and it will invite him to the game now i’m honestly uh not smart enough to go ahead and have him ready to join but i assure you that

Is how you can play a minecraft battle rock edition with your friends your friends can also do the same thing now one thing that i will note is some worlds aren’t open to multiplayer so if we go ahead and go into settings here so we have went into the pause menu into

Settings and then we want to go ahead and go into multiplayer now some of these are enabled for example like multiplayer games and things like that and i don’t think you can enable them from here but do know that if this is turned this way it’s over on the left

Hand side you cannot join this server i believe though if we go ahead and save and quit we can change this from the world screen so here we are if we go ahead and hit this little edit button it opens up here and we can go into

Multiplayer and change this we can turn multiplayer on turn multiplayer off we want to have it friends only want to have it invite only friends of friends you can change your settings here now visible to lan means anyone who’s connected to your network if this box is

Checked will be able to join this server without like having to do anything if they just go into their servers it will show up here at the very bottom because they’re on the same network so that is another way to join but again that’s how you can play with

Friends on bedrock now again you will have to add someone as a friend and you can do that in game that can be sometimes buggy so you may have to download the xbox app which we do have a link to in the description down below

You can download the xbox app or go on xbox.com sign in to your xbox account and add friends that way but doing it from in game works i would say 99 of the time i’ve done it a few times and never had any issues so that’s what i will say

We have gotten comments though that other players are having issues inviting people to the game by adding them as a friend here however usually again restarting minecraft works after they’ve accepted the friend request make sure your friend has accepted it if they’ve not accepted it they will not show up on

This list so there you have it that is how you can play minecraft bedrock with other players using your single player and using your existing worlds however what if you want a server you want a server over here basically up and running where they can go in they can

Add a server you can add plugins to this server you can have a lot more customizability than you can in the default you know single player styles what i call them but these default worlds over here well in that case you want to get a custom a dedicated server

Had any issues with bedrock servers over there as well and i’ve hosted quite a few so i would 100 recommend apex minecraft hosting if you want to start your own bedrock dedicated server when you’re setting up your server just search for bedrock dedicated server under the server version you can also

Install nukkit in uk it which is the basically bedrock version of bucket allowing you to get plugins and things like that on your server so you can install either one of those and then you just come in here you add the server you type in the ip address type in the port
