Hello everybody and welcome to another video with me sink today’s video is slightly different it’s not actually me playing any gameplay yesterday I started to get bored with playing Minecraft on the switch by myself and I figured it can’t be that difficult to join an online server turns out it’s Really difficult as the only ones we see I like here where we see five featured with no option to put in an IP or anything like that to join a different server as you can see all the servers have got a bad ping for me except for The one Asia the hive server which I did not enjoy trying to play on so I spent a lot of time yesterday trying to find solutions on the internet of how to fix this problem the solution I’m going to explain today is the one that I found That worked this isn’t my solution it is a solution I found on a random reddit thread I believe but this is the solution they gave me one thing to take note of that it didn’t actually mention is over oh this way you need to be signed in with your Microsoft or Mojang Account and also if you look that way you’ll see the version number which currently for me is V one point one four point six zero which is bedrock minecraft but it appears it is also a Pocket Edition so when you’re looking for a server to join this does actually Make it slightly harder to find which ones you can join which took me a while to figure out as I just read it as being cross-platform so first thing we’re going to do is we are going to go to our home screen we’re going to go down into Our settings and we’re going to go into the internet all this will mainly be blurred out for you guys except for the important parts so search for our network my network is called Hugh Mac sucks because my Rooter is terrible and is made by a company called Hugh Mac’s unfortunately cannot change So we go into change settings we go down to DNS where currently it says automatic these changes to manual as you can see here I already have the manual DNS is put in for primary and secondary so we have one zero four point two three eight point one three zero point one eight Zero and our secondary DNS is obviously the Google one so we’re gonna go ahead and just say that nice save so that’s my settings changed for my internet so we just go back to our home we close minecraft and we go back into the game if this doesn’t work Try restarting the switch as well that’s what I had to do the first time that I got this to work so we go back into minecraft select our profile wait for it load and then we will see something slightly different when we go to the find servers hopefully it will sign back Into my minecraft on my Microsoft intensive account as well appears to be doing that so now if we go over to play and then go over to servers let it start fetching the servers you will see that it no longer states the countries and the pings of the servers underneath but Instead it will give you the option that says join server and I’ve found that it’s best to click my hive one don’t know why not particularly sure and that is what I have been clicking on sometimes on the other ones it didn’t take me to this the next screen so I’ve Just stuck with doing the the one that I saw it work on for myself so maybe that will help you guys as well when we come to my server list you’ll see I have a few servers added this is the process I went through trying to figure out why I Was unable to connect servers before I realized that the version of Minecraft we were on was not actually working so now we can see we’ve got the server list coming up rather than just joining one of these featured servers that we sought for and these are some of The ones I tried to join before a lot of them different ports used for different servers so check your news in the right port as well as that was a thing that was stumping me and but now we can just go to connect to a server and it’s Failed okay so this is what happens when it fails so we we have to save and quit and we can try again I will probably leave this bit in so you guys can see that this does not hunt don’t work every time it’s not does not appear to be a 100% proof fix although it is better than only having the option of those five servers okay so now we will click on connect to your server and now we can see we can add the IP for our server and the server port we also have our toggle to add the Server to the list so that when you come to this screen next time it will connect you in and that is how you go about joining a new server and let me go ahead and go back to my list and I will just join one I believe works I have no Recollection of which one works so it does work we’ll try this one might be wrong it takes a while on the switch to load all of this unfortunately for me I live in a country called Thailand where I cannot speak the language so this didn’t help me too much for joining once With a good thing but hopefully it might help some of you guys out so yeah there you go that is the solution I found hopefully this short little video will help some of you out as it did help me out main things to remember yes you do Need to be signed into a Microsoft account and also check what version your switch is running if it doesn’t work try turning your switch on and there often on the classic lights in solution also if you change the internet settings back to automatic you will not have the Option to join the servers that you had selected and so yeah that is all of it I hope some of you get to enjoy playing minecraft online and actually playing it on the switch be free to go and check some of my other videos out there’s a Variety of content as I play a lot of different games on my channel but until next time see you then Video Information

This video shows a solution that actually works (most of the time) that I found on reddit after some searching. This isn’t my own solution it is just the one I found that actually worked.
Things to remember when looking for a server IP, sign into a Nintendo Microsoft account, Check the version of your game, Check you’re using the correct port.
Goto settings, internet connection, change settings, change DNS to manual, Primary DNS 104.238.130.180 secondary DNS 8.8.8.8, back to home, close Minecraft, Possibly restart the switch. Do not change internet settings back to automatic if you want to continue on a online sever as you will lose the option to pick.
Hope this video saves some of you sometime looking through other older fixes that didn’t work for me, or now don’t work at all.
Thanks.
