Recently mo yang released the 1.18 caves and cliffs update i originally was skeptical for various reasons but i have since come to love the enormous caverns and towering mountains however the spectacular new update came with a catch two special world types had been removed from minecraft forever the cave’s only Type and the floating islands type i had first discovered the floating islands type when i bought minecraft java dishing being a long time bedrock edition player and i loved it while it may not have much practical use the floating island’s world type not only looks gorgeous it provides a unique and Challenging survival experience to anyone who may be interested therefore i’m going to show you all how to create a world with floating island’s world generation for 1.18 the first step is to create a new world with the settings that you want it can be a set seed that You want to play on or just a random seed leave the world type as default and create the world once you have created the world successfully you can immediately save and quit Then you will click on edit world and hit export world generation settings this may take a moment so be patient once you see the pop-up in the top right corner the settings have successfully exported next type run into the search bar for windows or hold down the windows button and press r This should bring up the run command and you can type in percentage app data percentage and press enter click on the file that says dot minecraft click on saves and then click on the world you want to convert to floating islands world generation scroll down to the world generation settings export which should Be a dot json file if you try to open it and windows doesn’t know what app to use you will see a pop-up that asks you to look for an app in the web store or try other options click on the other options and just use the default notepad on your computer Then you will replace this specific minecraft colon overworld with minecraft colon floating islands if you replace any of the other overworld settings on this page with floating underscore islands it will not work only replace this specific type close down the notepad and be sure to click on save Close down the file explorer head back to minecraft and create another new world this time go to the world options and hit import settings this will bring up file explorer again and all you have to do is repeat the steps from last time percentage app data percentage dot minecraft saves Floating islands and select the json file that you just edited if you change the correct overworld to floating underscore islands then it will successfully import and you can load up the world There you have it that is all you need to do in order to play floating islands in 1.18 one fair warning i have is that it can be pretty laggy at times but usually that can be solved by using the regular tricks such as turning down your render distance turning off smooth Lighting and turning the graphics to fast but that is all i have for you today and i hope this video has been helpful thank you and goodbye You Video Information

Just a quick and easy tutorial to help anyone get started with a Minecraft Floating Islands world.
Also, I have a Singleplayer Minecraft Floating Islands Survival world that I have been playing on for a while off camera, so let me know in the comments if you want to see anything from that world!
This is different from what I usually post, but I’m actually pretty happy with the result! (Yes, I finally got a new microphone, but the next few uploads will still have a crappy mic. Sorry.)

This video is a passion project, I am not making it for money, views, or even prestige. I simply created it because I felt like it.
In this particular video, I give a quick and easy tutorial for how to get floating islands world generation in Minecraft’s new update, 1.18.
This video is also family friendly, and I plan to keep it that way!
(I guess I’ll put PC specs here if people want them? Comment if you do??)
Obviously, this video was inspired by Nato Boram and has been influenced by various other content creators. Thank you to all of them. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCxFCLgxgGYHM7aFXRA175fQ
I apologize for the low frame rates and awful microphone, I plan to improve it slightly in the future. This is also a fairly messy video overall, and if you have any suggestions for my channel, feedback on the video, or any general comments to make, please leave a comment! I read all of them and appreciate every single one of you.
Also, if you made it this far in the description, you might as well subscribe. Thanks 😀
