Some ruins oh what have we here some kind of old mine maybe or a dungeon of some kind perhaps I should be a bit better geared up first setting foot in a catacomb not for the first time my friends I’m really gonna have to come to

Terms with the fact that I will need to kill some of these cows but right now they’re just too cute oh my goodness what is that that’s some kind of Airship and a woodland mansion and a ruined nether portal oh my goodness there’s so many things what seriously what the heck

Still I have a destination in mind and my destination is little beyond the Woodland Mansion here as long as nothing’s about to pop out of this forest and kill me oh and maybe I could take shelter in a cave grab a couple of torches yes okay

Perfect let’s grab a little bit of coal here and I don’t know if we’re gonna find any remains of ancient civilizations in this cave it’s always worth a try and look a deposit of some local minerals although there does seem to be precious little elves around here

Or maybe I’m just not that good at archeology yet nope alas it seems like I’m barking up the wrong tree just two lapis from this place but who knows maybe we’re just digging in the wrong place coal at least I know how to extract and potentially a little more

Efficiently than my fellows while I may not always have the sharpest instincts I’ve always had an abundance of luck uh this luck might be about to run out oh God that’s a woodland creeper oh yikes oh there are some very interesting minerals down here but there’s a trident

Flinging ground I definitely am not equipped to deal with him yet and the local spiders aren’t all that great either no no thank you then we are getting a little closer to the site I’ve been looking for oh no no oh God no at least the sun is starting to come up and

I can regain my composure what a lovely little beach but around here an abundance of resources looks like it’s probably time to have a little breakfast I’ll take a few mineral samples from the local area I’m always happy to have some copper oh my goodness there’s a Corsair

Ship right off the coast of the island that I wanted to go to but it kind of looks like they’re leaving well I shall make my way up on the other Shore and cross my fingers that I don’t Merit their attention it seems like they’ve tried to establish an outpost here and

Not have the smartest idea of where to build it but beyond there that may be where the true treasure lies for now I shall be content to rely on my knowledge of geology and search the local area for some iron there are even deposits of calcite and deep slate on the surface

Here and the local fauna seems very cute but if I am to beat them to the punch and investigate what’s going on out there in that ocean Monument I shall need a field office a place to work from a place to keep my notes and a research and

Potentially a place to hide from the spiders when they come out at night so you know what it’s time to put these tools to work Well I got settled in here but unfortunately I didn’t have a great deal of time to log in over the last little while and it seems like some of my stuff has grown weeds at least the pigs like it and I will need to farm a little bit

Of Oakwood because I’ve actually settled on a house design I really like been drafting a couple of blueprints and things are looking good but it’s going to require a little bit more than the local ecology will really allow I’ve been taking some mineral samples from the area we’ve got some deep slate and

Some calcite from the shoreline over here where there were deposits of it on the surface but I’m going to need to go a little deeper so I’m going to get geared up and we are going to go to the nether fingers crossed that we actually get somewhere usable I’ve also noticed a

Few red sheep I’m not sure if these are occurring naturally or if somebody’s been through here and dyed them that might even have been me and I just didn’t remember what I really need at this point is a decent source of iron so I can get some iron tools on the go but

On the way I might try and get hold of some leather armor I want to stay maneuverable and something tells me leather armor is going to be a better fit for me than the iron or diamond stuff that a lot of people are going to be wearing already exploring the local

Highlands is is hopefully going to yield some iron or potentially I can run into some Highland cows and there are a lot of structures around here but I’m never sure if a player has built any of this stuff ah there’s a torch there which means somebody has been in this region I

Think I need a little bit more Stone because I’ve just absolutely depleted my ax in one go oh these houses look lovely do I have neighbors kind of kind of over there oh my goodness someone has been busy yeah I I’ve not really had the opportunity to get on do much stuff

Already and some people are technologically way ahead of me the manner of mythical J is sausage I should have known what a lovely build and the the actual turning windmill well it’s good to know that sausage and I are neighbors I’m basically just across the fur forest from here but we’ve got a

Nice tree line separating us and it looks like a Pillager Outpost over there in the trees so I need to stay well clear of that while I don’t have a shield or anything yet but at some point I may have to make a visit to the house

Of Mr mythical J and see what he’s been up to so he can at least explain what an Earth is going on in his backyard this looks like a cozy little Ravine where I might be able to get some early iron I’m going to try and craft a few torches on

My way down here because I’m not the best defended so light is going to be my best defense here and boy do I both love and hate when the cave Ambience kicks in it’s very spooky but here we go we’ve got some iron all right let me grab some

Of this finally got our first iron pickaxe and it’s not come a moment too soon let’s see if the sturdy planks of these fur trees will make me a decent Shield well that seems to fit the bill enough iron left for an X and a shovel

And I’ll be well on my way to digging up my first diamonds there are some fascinating mineralogy in these Ravines though I will have to come back and take a look later there’s also some Netherrack or something down there oh no that’s not Netherrack that’s a completely different resource okay well

I don’t know how safe I’m going to be taking a trip to the bottom of this Ravine but uh I think it might be my best bet and hopefully it’s not a one-way trip oh and the cave Ambience only get is more layered the further down we go this is very disconcerting

But I’ve just spotted potentially my first diamond so I’m just going to make sure that nothing’s gonna drop on me as I try to acquire them gonna carefully block off that lava flow and see if we can get hold of this this is a lovely Diamond deposit this will be perfect for

Our first haul and what I am hoping at this point is that nothing is going to drop in on me because the lava will at least have light up the area in the meantime and look at this our first diamonds and oh yes that archaeologist’s luck is coming in clutch getting a few

Extra diamonds for our buck not too shabby yes perfect good 12 diamonds from that not too shabby and let’s see if we can get a bit of redstone as well although I don’t quite feel like taking the plunge down there so I’m gonna try

Not to push my luck here but that is at least enough diamonds to get us our first diamond pickaxe we should get some obsidian maybe set up an enchantment table and see where we can get to the nether and on the way I’m curious about some of these other minerals now that

I’ve got a diamond pickaxe I feel a lot better about mining some of them I’ll still take the iron though because that’s going to come in useful for a whole variety of things later those machines mythical sausage had maybe yes I’m still not wearing any armor so I am

A little bit jumpy when I get shot by skeletons that would be nothing compared to a ninja creeper right now and there’s plenty of opportunity for that so let me grab some of this what is this crimzite uh cool okay I guess I’m gonna have to

Get used to a few of the new materials here oh and some gold is going to be a great idea while I think about it I’m not going to step into The Nether and immediately get killed by piglens play it safe on the way back up here don’t

Person’s hair seems to have burned down but what do they have in here an alchemy table okay oh they’ve got bookshelves I might actually take the bookshelves since there seems to be nobody in Residence and if there was they’ve got other problems a little bit of redstone

Up here in the attic I might take this with me as well having a handful of books around is going to make for an easy first enchanting setup so it’s for the greater good and because the alternative would be raiding that Woodland Mansion over there and I don’t

Really feel like dying right now oh another portal this should at least provide enough obsidian that we can make our first portal back at my Homestead and it’s very close to this monstrosity in the sky yeah plenty of lava here that we can use for our needs plenty of

Obsidian in the portal frame itself and of course there’s nothing in the chest why would that be and I thought I was coming back towards the area where I live but I have gone a little bit off track it turns out is this somebody else’s house or is this another generated structure I

Really can’t tell but um oh it looks like it has a Way Stone out here and there’s a boat docked downstairs whose house is this what a lovely Greenhouse from the looks of things shovel shovel lives here oh my goodness how lovely and what a tall door okay that’s something I

Didn’t know existed oh my gosh it’s a little Greenhouse with some watering cans and some plants everywhere and ah this is so cool there’s even like some fireflies in a jar or something up there unbelievable there are sliding doors oh my goodness I want to move in but that

Means shovel can’t be too far away from me because I think I think I am somewhere over here well I checked my coordinates and it turns out I am a little way down the coast from shovel so we’re almost neighbors but man there are a lot of outposts around here there’s

That ocean ruin coming into view there’s the pirate ship and the drowned Outpost and here is our humble abode so now at last I have the ability to create my own nether portal I brought enough for two near the portals just in case so I’m gonna be skipping making the corners

Fill those in with a bit of deep slate just to look kind of stylish and now I need to get flint from gravel which is something I’m not really used to luckily I had a bit of flint in the chest already so hey not too bad and we can

Light up our nether portal and see where it takes us but first hey how about I make some gold yeah so I can make some gold armor and in the meantime I can at least get geared up with the rest of my archaeologist’s kit I have some leather

Armor on me at least and I’m gonna be hiding the armor here so you can still see my skin as per usual but a gold helmet is going to cap off what will hopefully be a successful expedition to the nether just in case I better leave

Some of this more valuable stuff here in the chest we could make an enchantment table but I want to keep hold of the obsidian just in case and oh a train Hull okay we need to we need to look into that at some stage but for now let

Us boldly go it’s time let’s step through to the Nether and see where we’re at okay okay this actually looks pretty promising we’ve got a nether wastes biome it looks like or at least we’re up in the ceiling looks like we have a Basalt Delta I have no idea what

That is but I want to stay well away from that oh my goodness and what do we have here I’m a little scared to mine it because piglens don’t like when you mine stuff here but since cinecyte am I saying that right I hope I am it’s the

Nether lap this as well as that Cobalt I know Cobalt is part of a variety of other mod packs that have stuff to do with the nether lapis yeah interesting lapis pile though what is that used for oh my goodness I have so many questions okay well a few of those will hopefully

Be answered this looks promising this looks kind of like it’s headed in the direction of what I want to find no idea what this actually is mushroom grass yeah okay so maybe maybe if we dig down a little bit here we might end up encountering what I need

Digging through this sin sinusite whoa hello yes oh my goodness we have found it almost immediately that’s incredible right there that right there is what I need and oh this nether terrain is so treacherous I need to be extra careful here or maybe I should just dig in from

A slightly safer part over I guess over there perfect perfect we’re coming out next to some glowstone as well but look at this place how absolutely wonderful so this is really my first time in one of these areas and I do not know what around here if anything will kill me

Except of course the love I’m pretty familiar with the lava but this is what I came here for these are nether reads and the cool thing about nether reads if I search for those is they can be used to create these incredible roof tile blocks but you need to get read blocks

Which require four netherreeds so effectively we have to farm this stuff like sugarcane and the thing is it doesn’t seem like they can be planted on just regular nether terrain it seems like they need to grow next to lava in kind of the same way that sugar cane has

To be grown next to water in the Overworld so in order to get hold of a bunch of these we’re gonna have to make kind of a sugarcane farm but with lava instead of water because the hairs I have in mind is going to have a beautiful blue roof and that means we

Need to get hold of a lot of these nether Reeds I’ll gather as much as I can from here but obviously the landscape of the nether has a lot of surprises and there’s a lot of lava around here so I need to be a little bit

Careful where I tread gotta make sure I don’t punch any nearby piglins and the like but if nothing else at least having a bunch of this basically on my doorstep in the nether is good news and some other aspects of the local ecology cannot be ignored I’m very curious about

Those oh they give you slime balls and mushroom stem jellyfish mushroom saplings I’ll take a few cuttings of the local plants as well except it looks like I I can’t Harvest these they sort of split up into other things like oh feather ferns some very interesting oh

Bone grass nice well I should also check since there’s enough bones around I should check whether or not you can bone meal these we’re doing a little bit of live research here assuming this is bone oh okay that’s a full bone block so it can’t be broken down into bone meal it

Becomes a bone button that’s kind of hilarious actually let me uh let me just leave that there so it looks like we aren’t getting the easy bone meal I thought we might be getting from this area but that’s fine that’s fine we can figure out another way of getting bone

Meal looks like a couple of these are still the bone blocks I am used to and yep you can’t bone meal them at all unfortunate but at least we can go with an automated redstone farm that will hopefully give us enough that we need we can Farm These manually but I don’t

Really feel like having that much lava around well at last we are Homeward Bound and I need to gather a little bit more quartz just so we have enough for The Observers because we’re gonna need a fair few of them for a nether Reed Farm

So the good news is it’s nice and easy to get these Farms up and running you effectively build them like a sugarcane farm except you’ve got to consider water in proximity instead of lava and that’s just underneath the calcite row there is just a couple of lava sources underneath

There I think I saw yep there’s a a Pillager raid rolling on through or at least a Pillager Patrol so I’ll try and deal with them as best I can I don’t have a bucket of milk on me though and I’m slightly worried about going near a

Village so uh maybe I need to give this guy a couple of quick wax and then see if a uh deflected Arrow can do something about him failing that I do have a flint and steel so you know we can just set him on fire I guess and we can take out

The rest of these guys which might actually get us over the line we need to start finally enchanting stuff yeah not quite we got a crossbow out of it though so anyway as I was saying I’ve got a couple of different Farm designs for the nether reads now and this one is a

Fairly standard basic one but as you can see in there we’re getting a little bit of loss we’re getting some items on there because the Reeds aren’t falling into the water streams and over time those will start to catch some of the other items as they fall and they can

Stack together and that leads to you losing a lot more than you want so I’m sticking with the old tried and tested Farm design here with the minecart running underneath and I’m just putting a few more finishing touches to the redstones so that we can make sure that

The minecart leaves here collect all of the stuff and then comes back and I’m sure that there are some cool modded ways we could do this especially with create mod being part of the mod pack that we’re using but to be quite honest I feel like I’m just gonna do this The

Familiar way right now because there is plenty of opportunity to get bamboozled by the modded stuff a little later in the meantime I made a couple of really important discoveries first of all the fact that now I’m wearing my full set of leather armor I get a set bonus which

Includes upgrading the effectiveness of it so that it’s equivalent to Diamond Armor so despite the fact that it doesn’t have as much durability I am now as kitted out as a player in diamond armor would be look at my armor bar down there I’m looking pretty well set up and

That crucially it means that I can spend my diamonds on a variety of other things like tools for example I really need to upgrade some of this stuff and I don’t need to spend 20 plus diamonds on a full set of diamond armor it does unfortunately have the side effect that

When I take one of these off to substitute a gold piece of armor to go to the nether for example I am losing out quite considerably but while I am wearing leather armor I get a little bonus to my movement speed and to my luck and I’m not certain exactly what it

Is the luck effects right now I’ve been getting pretty lucky finding stuff in gravel again but I do think some of that has to do with the chests that you opened there’s like a few other mechanics to raiding structures that have like loot chests that multiple

People can open and still get loot but the perks of being an archaeologist are certainly starting to come together very well and I think with this nice glass wall in front of here maybe a couple of logs on the side from that point it’ll just be a waiting game until we have

Enough materials to build my starter house and it’s gonna be worth holding out for that because these are the most beautiful roof blocks I really like these a lot I really wish we had something that was this beautiful blue roof tile design in vanilla Minecraft but we’re gonna make do with living out

That fantasy right here and building with a whole roof of nether Reeds once these machines deliver which they are taking a little while to do but trust me they will do Foreign Foreign I hear people I hear the noises of people hello hey hey finally we get to hang out I I came by here when you weren’t here and I I uh I figured I should probably come and say hi now that I’ve I’ve actually got a

I found there’s just a lot of outposts around I’m near one that’s got a drowned Spawner in it which is kind of weird um that’s what’s in there yeah so I knew a spawner was in there we didn’t get close enough I’m planning on doing some archeology to it a little bit later

Along with the massive like weird ocean ruin that’s out here that’s like five times the size of a regular ocean Monument um I thought it was a whole Temple I couldn’t yeah like it’s a whole thing I I need to get some water breathing potions and stuff but I’m gonna do it

But uh now I’ve added my little house to the coastline over here It’s tall and I I have done this using basically the most expensive roof material I could find um but it’s the only one that looks like this lovely blue tile so I thought you know I would I would give that a go and so basically what I’ve got had to do is

Farm special sugarcane for like three days that’s what I’m trying to make my roof out of honeycomb so I’m in the same boat oh gosh yeah I know you’ve given yourself quite the task as well but yeah I basically I set up two little fancy Redstone sugar cane farms for these

Nether Reeds and then it turns out that those produce about five every like hour so I decided I should probably just grow a lot of it so I’ve been AFK this whole day yeah if you come over here I’m gonna put my waist on over here like it’s a

Little post box and uh yeah and there’s some chests for Ollie to hide among so he can feel at home excellent but you better leave single chest I can only works so here we go uh I can add my name to this oh you put it on a plinth yeah

There you go like I said so it can feel like a little a little post box yay yay so now people can come and visit which will be lovely because uh I I need I need human contact now after having isolated myself so that I can Farm Reeds

Quite figured out what that means yet but I’m working on that if you’ve got any gravel I can find useful stuff in it I can I can dig it up and it’s like it drops different loot than what you normally get from gravel so I’m uncovering the ruins of the past still I

I feel like whatever’s in there I’m probably not going to be able to take it um I also take double damage from spiders so yeah and abandoned mine shaft I’m basically useless I have natural Fortune too though so I kind of I get more coal and diamonds and stuff automatically without enchantments which

Is really really nice oh if you’re running for diamonds for business I can’t go mining for diamonds actually I am physically limited from going that deep underground because if I’m too far away from the Sun I’ll start yeah you’ve got to like recharge your battery or whatever right yeah yeah I’m like a

Solar panel I think I put the opening you and then run what would happen it does a radius so I don’t know what the radius is you can try oh foreign the shrinking one lasted the longest I felt like I felt like I was gonna fall

Into the sky it’s looking for Jewels the chest looking through a chest Jewels or coins or gems I’ve got uh I got some lapis you can have some lapis yeah toss that in yeah in return I’ll give you one why is it so small oh hey Beggars can’t be chooses

Looks really really nice I think thanks in no small part to the amount of greenery we can fit inside we’ve got some Vines and roses and peonies growing on trellises inside of here on lattices I guess these are technically I even found these little tubs these kind of

Like flower pot tubs where you can combine different flowers and even saplings so those are really nice they don’t work with the two tall flowers but they work with all of the one block tall ones and you can fit a few of them in there mythical sausage hooked me up with

A bunch of furniture as well he’s been dabbling with that a bit more than I have so far so I got these tables and a set of chairs that I decided to put in the middle of the room here along with a really nice little ceiling Lantern these

Big lanterns that you you can make if you end up modifying some natural vanilla blocks using The Carpenter’s workbench and this tinkering table both of which I believe are from chipped really detailed block models but so cool look at this they got this piston thing

Going on in the middle and on the side there really really nice raided a village for a couple of things as well mythical sausage gave me a fish tank and some cabinets but I got these vegetable barrels from a nearby Village and up here on the rose side we have my humble

Little bedroom we’re gonna Tinker with some paintings and stuff a little bit later this is the bedside table that Joel dropped off a bunch of the mangrove propagules for me so that was very nice of him we got a little cooking pot there as well but I’m probably gonna replace

It with something else but I just thought it was a nice little corner detail for that bedside table and then up here we have an enchanting setup where I was able to get thank goodness a fortune 3 Unbreaking and efficiency pickaxe so now we can see if my natural

Fortune ability Stacks with the fortune ability that you get from a fully Enchanted pickaxe and I’ve been tinkering a little bit with some books and stuff up here as well just getting my basic enchantments on before we dive into anything a little bit more sophisticated I also finally got some

Squid inks so I could put together a book and quill and Squid seemed to be very few and far between on the server mythical sausage actually helped me out with that on a live stream and he was in his ghast origin right now he can’t touch water so he was like hovering

Above the water fireballing them from a distance to try and farm some ink for me which was so nice of him like if he had disconnected from the server or there’d been some kind of like lag issue he could very well have just died that

Would have been a bit of a problem but either way we are now all set up here I’m really happy with this house and hopefully this is the beginning of a few new adventures on the new life server so just to briefly explain what the server

Server this time for a fresh new run and it mainly revolves around the origins mod so my origin as an archaeologist gives me a few special powers I can turn gravel into a variety of different Loot and I’ve actually decided to start what I’ve been told is called a day book so
