Hey everyone I’m clue welcome back to the data pack project so last time we got our passive mob abilities working not sure if they’ll proc any right they might just randomly do something but we got them all set up all the passive mobs at least right so I ended up saying that That we’d swap back to the spell crafting system well not spell crafting spell casting right because crafting’s all done so we’ve got the spell Ulta set up here and we can craft a lot of different spell books but we actually haven’t done any of the effects so I Think the goat is going to be swapping back and forth between the two so uh we’ve done passives it’s still neutral hostile bosses special Elite and difficulty right there are all the different abilities I want to implement and in terms of the spell system well we have three different types of books so We have amplifying malevolence and rejuvenating of which there are 12 different types and then five different casting mechanisms so already there’s a lot to implement here and then I do also want to add in secondary elements or Natures however you want to refer to it right so you can take say a amplifying Spelled home and has ancient affinity and casts in the cone and then adds some extra elements to it as well or if we go about lapis we can we can see what they do so in a cone we hold down you can see is casting and then it shoots out so the Cone should be nice and quick right easily spammable it is costing us lapis a lot of lapis every time I think it’s about six right so depending on the different affinities the different casting as well as whatever the secondary things we add to it you know That’s going to affect the cast time the resources used for the amount of lapis maybe some other reagents I don’t know right but the big thing is obviously just effects so the particles are done right that looks fine it’s a little bit High though is it I guess it’s casting from owl yeah from outcaster it doesn’t actually do anything just yet so if we go cast on cat for instance right no I’m out of lapis uh do that oh you jumped in there right we hit you does nothing so we have To implement all the effects for the 12 difference across the three different so I think the go is going to be obviously rejuvenating will be some sort of healing malevolent will be damaged and then amplifying will be a potion effect I think as just their base casting mechanism right and then obviously Whatever you add to it so the Affiliates the whatever secondary elements we add is going to affect in different ways and then the other thing I do want to work on is having this altar actually affect the world right so for instance we have it attuned to all 12 Natures right I Really gotta come up with consistent terms but so we have all 12 elements here big I just swapped it already so we have all 12 of it I should stop do we have all 12 things attuned here right so that’s why there’s all these particle effects so I want Them to do something right so for instance if we have just fire it might give the player strength or something like that but then if you have fire and I don’t know Soul right it might summon Blazers right so you want to set up an Altar you want to tune it in a certain way then you don’t want to overtune it otherwise you can have some detrimental effects right but I think that would be fun to to sort of work with right and you know surprise player you set up and Alter your tuner and you get some sort of bonus you’re tuning again and you went too far and now you gotta destroy it and make it again right so those are the two things I’m going to work on just some basic effects and then giving the altar some actual function right aside From just crafting sad we didn’t actually see any of the cats use their abilities we’ve heard them because we heard a hiss right so the hiss should be from the accounts ability but we haven’t been close enough for any of them to propel actually there you go one of them has Dropped some iron nuggets for us anyone else so we need to check this yeah it was worried about you should be crafting something it doesn’t oh well all right I’m gonna I’m gonna get to work and then we’ll come back and show stuff off well actually you know What I’ll do that why don’t we just go over the five casting again why not so we have cone should be just straight in the line yeah cone Arc around you nearby Target and so the nearby Target’s probably the the difficult one right I mean it should Cast up cats we’ll do that so so should be this one right so we have five hold it down and cast on us obviously that’s exactly what it says was this one this is if I could find e spells around you F5 as well so this is a little AOE Right so it doesn’t hit you but hits everything around you then we have Ox so it should just shoot in a line right from wherever we’re aiming you can go a lot further than any of the other spells so you can hit stuff at range then we have burst which we saw Before which is just a nice short projectile but in the little cone so we can hit things in front of you and then the actual fixed so it should Target the cat right so if we click it yeah so it goes up and then down landing on any Entities nearby I think you can can select up to five maybe I can’t remember it’s been a while since we’ve we’ve touched the spell system anyway I’ll get to work and then we’ll go through things welcome to my testing area don’t mind the mishaps right yeah somehow ah I I died right on a creative world testing right uh anyway I mean Chunk in a Husk and we have our different spell books so cast an Ark cast around us cast and cone on a nearby Target and on ourselves now I have the rejuvenating spell time right which is kind of weird Because it’s a husk so there was two ways like I was thinking of doing it either we go instant damage instant Health right so malevolent Tome does instant damage the rejuvenating term does instant Health you probably guess which one I went with right because We’re about to cast on a husk but I was also thinking maybe just use the damage command and regen right make it applicable against everyone but I I like the The Duality more right you cast a blue book if you want to go hunting Undead you can ask a red book if you Want to hunt the living anyway let’s get casting so starting off with r right we can just aim at you and put loose yes that’s what we want to see it does damage the question is how does the projectile function or go oh there’s there’s dead zones you’re causing dead zones right It’s not interesting we did this to fix it but there’s still dead signs during casting so that might be a little bit annoying oh we did them okay we wanna we wanna try and cast through here and now I can’t cast it all Ah okay let’s no what’s going on here I can cast sometimes and then if he looks at us he stops there you go we went over the fence line so that’s good then we have domain or around us right so it should cast in nice AOE perfect if we Hit them they’ll take some instant Health which is damage against living we have cones this should be nice short shotgun-ish projectile right it doesn’t go past it looks like three blocks well if we aim correctly yeah more or less and then we have our targeted yep so this should go up and Then down right so delayed strike on their location and then we have self which in this case would heal us right because it hits us not you although if we stand next to you you can sort of use it as right not as good as this Airway because this AOE looks significantly better Right with a nice swirl around you but you can still use it you know heal yourself up damage the undead mobs around you and then yeah so the red tone the malevolent tone is doing instant damage then the amplifying tone is doing something a little bit different so the Amplifying tone adds a tag which we can’t quite do not we can just scrap the books we can grab out some of these we’ll stick with ancient it’s probably the easiest recognize we don’t have to go through them all uh we’ll just go with the cone this cone is nice and easy To land we’ll stick the husk in here for a change we’ll shoot him so what should happen is he gets tagged doesn’t take any damage doesn’t take any healing but now he’s tagged yeah and randomly he will proc that ability right although it looks like we got tagged with it too interestingly I need to fix that up definitely but yeah so we can tag him with a few different things depending on the tone so amplifying right give them the energy I don’t know I was thinking potion effects but then I want you know core effects for the 12 specific spell books So even across the healing and the Damage right the uh rejuvenate for instance if you take the ocean for instance it might do where is it was ocean right it might do absorption or something like that or it might spawn water right all them to have sexual effects depending on the the type Of right rather than just being blanket effects across the 12 of them because right that that doesn’t really create anything special so yeah so each of them tag The Entity that gets hit with a different type of energy for instance that was ancient energy so they spawned The Boca fangs every eight seconds or so right and then it randomly clears similar to our normal status effects now I’m curious why it hit us because it shouldn’t because if anything the rain should be significantly less maybe because it hits the fencing right that’s That’s my guess but we can’t see here we can travel it shouldn’t tag us at all or if we wait a few seconds or even if we cast on you again but a little upwards yeah so projectile must have bounced back and hit us right tagging us so That’s another thing to sort of worry about right so I know domain if you cast against the wall uh because I’m using armor stands as the projectiles they’re going to bounce and hit you although we didn’t tag you either which is a little Annoying I need to tweak all the ranges And especially I need to tweak the casting speeds right because stuff like the self needs to needs to be really slowed down because you know having a a castable heal on yourself every I think it was like a three second cast or something like that is way too open and Then similar uh like the normal projectile I think the current should probably be the quickest has the shortest range right and then probably the longer normal spell with the average uh the AOE probably slow self probably slow and the fixed well probably slow still and then I might also Differentiate the speed on these three tomes maybe I’ll think about it more work been more showcase well I’m not backtracking so the malevolent tomes now do damage to the damage command rather than instant damage or instant health and then the rejuvenated homes do regen because I was Thinking about it there’s sort of two concepts to go with right so doing instant damage and instant Health makes some type specific meaning that you want the rejuvenating book against on dead mobs and then you want the malevolent book against everything else which is a bit weird because I’d I’d more like it Be these are the combat spells if you will right so anything you’re going after any boss doesn’t matter the The Entity type you can take in malevolent time then if you want to heal or buff or anything like that you can take the rejuvenating tote so I think that works Better having them just as regen right casting self casts on friendly mobs casted on other players and then have the malevolent home as just whatever you cast on it’s going to take damage in terms of actual effects I Have Nots I have not done that many I’ve only done The malevolent time so far well if you count me uh amplifying times right but they’re just tagging I think I need to add some other stuff to them right particle sound all the good stuff but we’ll grab out probably the malevolence right so we’ll go probably just where’s cone They in order they better be in order yeah I guess scone is on the bottom so we grab out all of these we should be able to just go over all the effects before we wrap up and then we’ll probably finish off the basic spell System right uh in the next one and then go back to mobs or something like that uh where’s cone these are now out of Auto again yes because I did not organize these other chests cone one more there we go Okay so we’ve got 12 different types I think the Malevolent terms look the best too because essentially I made these first so aside from Ancients right you can see all the different icons but uh guinea pig we’ll go back over to the other side there right so we can set up our guinea pigs I’m going to actually just expand this So we can stick some more in there all right because a lot of the effects can Target multiple entities I was also debating whether or not to have them delete themselves on hits or allow you to hit multiple targets I think you hit multiple targets a little bit better so Off of cone right this is the ancient time there you go Chomps on all of them chomped on us too I feel like it bounced back because of the fences yeah let me move back a little all right oh that just ko’d them want some more in I want to make sure That the Spells aren’t hitting the Caster yeah so as long as you cast them at the appropriate range and they don’t collide with anything it’s fine there’s still that the hitbox which is a bit weird right because if we go f3b this is the interaction entity so It should always have the priority like oh I guess this angle down here right depends if they move it looks like so I might have to lower it a little bit yeah because you can’t cast down here because that’s apparently below the entity despite it being right right on our head I just have to move it down so it looks like one-fourth of a block right if we move back should be fine yeah cool now it’s jumping on them next up is Celestial so again they all have the same basic damage but then they have special effects right oh this one It’s not working okay we can stick that aside for now move on what is this one also I need more lapis I need a lot more lappers we have deep dark to have gone with Ark yeah this is it’s really annoying oh it sort of worked it’s meant to make Each of them pop up so to speak all right I’m gonna get the other book and pick some stuff up right let’s see if this is a little better no still running into issues where we can’t cast facts what’s going on with that delete this oh interesting I don’t know why it Glitched out it’s curious that’s something oh just did again as we moved with it it should fade it resets when we go back why is it setting us to ah it’s a problem with tweaking things right no longer going negative that’s good should be able to cast and hit you Yes too bad it was a KO you guys are a little runts ah it’s still there’s some issues with hit detection so the complication is from our perspective right it has to be everywhere we look and click and points right but then from an enemy perspective if I make the the interaction agency Cover the body then entities can’t hit us right so again I put in a bug report not a bug apparently this is the intended function of it to just be crap right its whole purpose is meant to be an invisible element that you can click on and interact with right regardless of the Entities around you but they have it coded and executed like it’s an empty right so for instance if we’re trying to hit the two of these obviously I’m going to hit the front one first well in this case I’m hitting the entity first so it works in this case but If it was such like an item for instance right if we had an item on this fence post and we there you go right so the hitbox of the item is in front of us but we can still hit the husks so in the case of an item right you can Click through there the interaction box but you can still interact with it and that is how the interaction entity should have been done right rather than it’s been complicated and essentially right there being a priority system with other entities so if it entity crosses it or moves and becomes a priority it no Longer functions which is really annoying anyway some of them in we move back a bit and we try the other books so this is Celestial still doesn’t work oh this one is the deep dark again because they’re moving right so that did do what it’s intended to do So for every entry hits it should release that that little blast right and then damage all the entities around them yeah so it’s being AOE damage have Overworld I believe this is or Enchanted Enchanted spawns in a bunch of experience for us off of the entities it hits that’s good Then we have oh Ender they teleport to a renamency in this case it was us should be random right shouldn’t always just go to us so if we shoot you who are taking over our priority yet you walk past us not to us what about you where you going you teleport To yourself it look like no there you go you want someone else then we have was this glacial facial is another one I don’t think it’s gonna work straight away yeah a lot of them I just copy and pasted from the Affinity system right they all have similar effects there’s Different ways to execute them and I’m fine with that it’s a bit lazy but I’m fine with it gold does a whole huge chunk of damage and never so they should ignite them she does also ignite us so the hitboxes again complications unfortunately that would be perfect Uh and we’ve created a big mess all right last four the two that don’t work is Celestial and glacial so I have to look at them and then we have was this ocean Overworld sky and salt start with ocean it’s you perfect does all damage and Spawns in some water on them push them away it’s nice well why did it not spawn in were you on grass you want grass I need to swap that as well so it should uh replace should it I don’t know I know I should okay Overworld Overworld shouldn’t do anything Yeah because it’s meant to poison that oh they get the slowness effect from it but they don’t suffer the poison uh this is Skye so this should be pretty straightforward but it also does not work should electrocute them okay free to check and then lastly we have soul which should do withering Instead of poison apparently also it does not work still there’s not a bad pass right right or out of the B12 books ah this takes a lot longer than expected right so I think we’ll wrap this one up here I’ll work on stuff and then we can hopefully see the Completed spell system right and then move back to passive mobs or something like that anyway hope you enjoyed see ya Video Information
