Hello everybody welcome back to another episode of minecraft how to build manticore here and today we are going to be continuing from where we left off with our magical how to build and as you can see in the background behind me we did go ahead and build a Witch’s house in the last video so today we are going to go ahead and build a wizards tower a slight variant but you know i think it’ll be cool to have both and we’ll see what else we wind up with now getting right into it we’ve got a little section Already cleared out for our tower right over here as you can see by this hideous stack of diorite wall and i went ahead and placed this here just so that i had a general idea of how tall i wanted this build to be so let’s go ahead and destroy all But this top one and actually you know i probably should have been counting that let’s see one two three four five six seven eight nine 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17. okay so we are building a 17 high tower as a general idea of the dimensions that we’re working with Now i can go ahead and clear out some of my inventory space because i still have a lot of what we are working with in the last build on me but i’m gonna go ahead and grab i’m thinking probably some stone bricks for this build uh let’s grab some regular stones some mossy Sold or chiseled however you want to pronounce it and Possibly that one I’m just making some decisions here ah let’s go ahead and grab some plain stone as well and some smooth stone because why not we’re gonna use every possible stone now we’re gonna go ahead and start out by building a circular base sort of like what we did with the Wishes tower and for this one uh we’ll go ahead and start out with just regular stone in the center here and i’m thinking about there should be good now we want this to be a fairly large build so i think we go out five on each side and right about there and Right about there okay so now i’m hoping this is gonna be big enough this might be a little bit too small but let’s just go ahead and start building and see what we wind up with so we’ll go ahead and extend these out to three On each side and this is sort of just a generic idea of how i build my circles starting out with the farthest side on each you want that to be your largest side and then from there you sort of go down by how many you’re building with so in this instance we’re Building with three and then that goes down to two and then i’d probably do a one right there in the corner and then we’ll go back to two and three and that would be the size of the witch’s house that we built in the last episode Now i don’t know if this is going to be big enough for what i want to do so i think let’s go ahead and turn this into an even build and then we’ll do that and this is gonna need to go out by one okay so now we might have to touch this Up if it starts to look a little bit too square but we’ll see what we wind up with once we make all these adjustments okay so just like that now we’ve got our even circle and you know that’s still looking pretty round so i think we’re Okay with that let’s go ahead and take out these two this is going to be our doorway and we’ll probably switch out this stone a little bit later on but for now i want to get this floor in and since we are building this up on a Cliff if we wanted to we could build downwards into the cliff itself but i think for this since we want to keep it kind of small we’ll go ahead and just build straight up for the majority of this floor i do want it to primarily be built with this stone brick But i want to use a couple of other ones to sort of add some accents and decorations to the floor that sort of make it stand out a little bit more so in the last build we went ahead and did just a very small sort of spiral staircase And for this i think we’ll do a much larger one that wraps around the inside of the tower so you guys will see what i mean by that in just a little bit but for now let’s go ahead and maybe try some of this uh chiseled stone here and maybe let’s try doing Some smooth stone in these corners and this is sort of reminding me of when we built the fountain right down there this is a very similar style to it now i think that should be good but i want to go ahead and add in some stone around the sides of this smooth stone So basically it’ll form sort of like a little plus or a little x however you want to look at that and then we’ll go ahead and actually get rid of this mossy stone and i think what i want to use instead is some cracked stone and that is simply because For this build i want it to be a lot cleaner than the last one was so for instance in the previous episode the witch’s house that we built over there it’s very overgrown and naturey but for this one i want it to look a little bit more uh clean like um Basically the wizard instead of using nature powers or uh potions and alchemy and all that that the witch uses he uses some kind of arcane magic instead which is more like weather and pure magic it’s if you want to look at the technicalities of it but so i think something like that Should be pretty good for what we want to do now for this next part we want to go ahead and start building up the wall for that outside wall i think we want to go ahead and use oh maybe some gravel and andesite and maybe some gray wool Now let’s grab it just in case we do decide to use it all right so now let’s go ahead and start building upwards with this we’ll go ahead and just stick with stone for now but we’ll switch that out here as we go and so this lower section it’s going to be One of the taller areas before we get to the incline and so i’m just sort of comparing the height as to what we want for that top mark and you know looking at the size of the base i’m almost thinking that we might go a little bit higher up with that mark So we’ll not worry about that too much at this point in time uh let’s go ahead and finish building up the rest of this point where we finish off those two so that’s going to be a seven high build and we’ll leave those two open down there for the doorway All right so now that we’ve got this generic stone wall up in place let’s go ahead and start adding in oh it’s going to say a few windows and you know i think we’ll do those right about there we’ll do them too wide and so that sort of gives a little bit Of a look out over the plaza and then we’ll do the same thing on this side and that’s one down from the top of the seven that we just created and i think we’ll leave this one filled in for now because we want to figure out where our Stairs are going to wind up once we start that spiral we don’t want to have stairs over any windows so it’s important to keep that in mind okay so now we’re gonna go ahead and i actually want to grab some cobblestone here for this next section Because i want to start mixing these um not necessarily like the advanced style build where you are essentially texturizing but the mixture that i’m talking about is i want to start doing a different texture altogether for this little section so basically what i’m talking about is we’ll have this plain stone look On the bottom level and then going in by one we’ll start having a more rounded stone build look to it so whether we use all cobblestone or cobblestone and some dead coral we’ll figure it out here as we go and i’m just backing up to get a better Idea of the scale of this build and you know i’m thinking we’re definitely gonna be going beyond that little white mark so i’m just gonna get rid of it for now and i think we’ll go ahead and actually shorten this down to being four high so we’ll do that all the way around Now pretty much the same as what we were doing with the stone just a moment ago but a little bit shorter and one in from where the stone is now that we’ve got that cobblestone layer added let’s go ahead and head in here once more And i think we’ll go ahead and add just one last final section of tower and let’s see what do we want to get rid of i don’t think we’ll be using any of that shroom light in this build so that should be a safe call Now i know this is kind of square but how would it look if we used smooth stone all right so let’s take a look at that and step back here it’s interesting i don’t know if that’s what i want all the way around but you know what if we just did Like a four Okay so here’s what i’m thinking let’s go ahead and add smooth stone all the way around the inside once more but rather than building it upwards just leave it as the one single ring and then we’ll actually use a different type of stone for the next two layers So it’s sort of like if you’ve ever seen a birthday cake being baked or something like that you’re just building up in layers now i’m going to go ahead and grab maybe some amnesite i’m trying to decide if i want to keep this all gray Or if i want to start giving it a different color now i think something like that will look pretty good once we get the rest of it in so let’s just go ahead and continue laying this down there we go and once we start to work on the insides A little bit more and get the floors all set up we’ll add a few more windows all right so gradually going in with your tall buildings by one is the best way to make it look more like it has a slight incline and it makes it look less uh pouring like straight up I’m not really describing it very well but if you’ve ever seen a building that just goes straight up usually it looks a little off if it goes on for too long so now coming in through here i think we’ll go ahead and use just regular stone For the last few sections and this is going to be the area that’s actually our roof or i guess in this case it’ll be our roof frame now i don’t know for sure whether this is the exact size that i want but i’m just going to Lay these down and see how this looks once we get the roof on okay so a little bit something like that so far and i’m almost wondering if it would look good to come out with those buy one but you know we’ll leave those beef for now and let’s go ahead and find What we want our roof to be so now i was thinking a bright color something more magical looking i’m not too sure whether i want to use warped or crimson stairs but see we’ve got what do we have so far we’ve got the reddish purple over there So this might be a little too similar at the same time we also have warp doors over there now ignoring that piece looking out over here we do have some more purple colors with the nether brick so i think for this instance let’s go ahead and just use the warped blocks And obviously don’t forget the one overhang which we do for the roofs when you’re laying this down it always helps to add more depth to the build it makes it look a little bit better and that is a very bright blue i don’t know that i’ve ever actually used it for roofing before For a magical build it’s very appropriate though one thing to keep in mind when you are first designing towers like this for a wizard or anything along these lines is you want to think about the story behind it and what type of a wizard it is like Does it do a lot of fire magic or is it like some kind of spell caster that focuses on like dark magic just little things like that will help to inspire your build and they can help to tell the story of your world okay now we’re finally down to the last Small section of this and once we do get all of this roof on i think we’ll go ahead and head back inside and start working on adding these stairs the stairs are going to be a big part of the layout and the build itself it’ll help us determine How many floors we have and where we want the windows on the outside and all sorts of stuff okay so this is what we’ve got going for the roof now and i’m going to add those upside down stairs for that gradual incline and so now we’ve got a little bit something like this Looking at this however i think this bottom section actually looks a little too large so i think we’re gonna go ahead and mess with that just a little bit so we’ll go ahead and take off maybe two of these and we’ll fill those in just for now And then we’ll just drag the cobblestone down another two so that will make that layer a little bit thicker but if it is too thick we can always do the same thing with the layer above it and now we’ll go through and add the cobblestone okay come back up to here we’ll replace That and then let’s drag that down maybe we’ll just do a two by two window on these now i don’t want it to cover her to be the whole wall and you know i’m almost wondering what if we did something sort of like with what we did On the gothic church style windows where we build this in by one and then we give this sort of a unique design so if we were to do that i think we could go ahead and get away with a two by three window and let’s go ahead and grab some regular stone Stairs now we’ll go ahead and apply these into the window like so all right just like that so just some small windows is all we’ve got and then we’ll go ahead and oh i guess regular stone looks fine we can just do that okay and let’s go ahead and grab some walls um Why not let’s see how cobblestone looks add a little bit of variety to this plain old stone all right and now we want to grab some stained glass so to sort of keep with the warped wood coloring i think i’m going to stick with some light blue windows And we can see how that looks once we get these all in all right so that’s what we’ve got on the inside now let’s take a step out here okay so that looks kind of cool it’s got a small little window down there and you know i wouldn’t mind doing Something similar to that design further up here um just a little bit smaller i think that could look pretty cool although that would actually be just a little square so i’ll have to play around with that some but for now let’s go ahead and head back inside and then We’ll start to figure out these steps so now that we’ve got these huge panels in here that makes adding steps a little bit more complicated but you know i think we can still make this work so now let’s go ahead and grab oh i’m thinking we do some stone brick stairs There we go now i just want to play around with the design for a moment here to figure out what we’re doing but i’m almost thinking we could possibly do something along these lines the main thing that i’m worried about besides covering up the uh besides covering up this window over here is I also want to make sure that we don’t cover up too much of this floor now it’s not the end of the world if we do it’ll just pretty much take away from what we have going on so far on this section now For this part i want to keep this section flat and then let’s see about doing something like this there we go and yeah that turns not too bad i almost kind of like that let’s add it over here as well okay and then let me go ahead and grab oh actually how Would polish insight look okay not too bad you could do polished and decide for this or you could do stone bricks labs whatever works for you whatever you got on handy and then at this point in time i think i want to start bringing this out some You know maybe we had a small window right through here maybe just a little bit something like so and this is what i was thinking for up there but that just makes it a plain square so i don’t know if that’s what we want let’s go ahead and do maybe Oh well let’s not worry about it for now we’ll just plug this back up and then coming down here we want to start building up our stairs again so if you wanted to you could just do one of these stairs down here on the bottom I like to do both to make it look a little bit more symmetrical but if you are looking to conserve room that would be an option now let’s go ahead and just lay out a floor of the polished andesite or slick or that’s like uh brick slabs whatever you’re using and Then we’ll go ahead and drag this out around here and we want to put these under the cobblestone as well i can the only exception for that is gonna be on the window where we’ve got those stairs okay so a little bit something like this is what we have now And i kind of want to possibly add a pillar down here in this corner so let’s see what we have for those now we could do just a regular quartz pillar it might be too white though so we might have to see what else we could use okay that does look pretty white Oh i know what we can do let’s go ahead and first off uh do some full polished andesite blocks there and there and then let’s go ahead and grab a wall and then i think i’ll use stone brick for this although another option would be andesite or cobblestone Okay so i think that’s too much stone brick so let’s give the other two a try here we have cobblestone on us so let’s go for that first and that’s kind of interesting oh i guess we can get rid of those so we don’t get caught Um it looks like we’re missing a few over here so let’s add those there we go and you know i do like the way the cobblestone is looking but let’s grab the andesite just to compare the two okay so i do like them both but i think We’re gonna go ahead and stick with this cobblestone because it matches what we have on the sides of the windows and now we can figure out something cool for right under those stairs here a little bit later but if you are building a basement you could probably do stairs down underneath so uh If it were to go out something like this all right coming back up here it is super dark so let’s go ahead and grab some light i’m thinking we do some end rods for lighting in this place and we’ll just set these down for now then Okay so for this next section we might actually be getting rid of that one and let’s do something like that and we’ll do those half slabs again and we’ll start building upwards for this one since we are in the upper part of the tower it doesn’t matter As much to make it a symmetrical build since it’s not the grand entryway or anything like that so we’re just going to go ahead and build a regular spiral staircase around the outside of the room okay so a little something like that and how did we do this one okay so That one did go over through there and once we do get this all going we’ll drop back down to make sure that it’s not too tight underneath any of these steps so the way that this stair style works is it’s pretty much just a regular old uh Like arrow that sort of points on the corners where the stairs would run into the brick and then we’ll go ahead and fill these up as well and then maybe we can do something oh boy we’ll have to go underneath for this kind of an awkward angle all right so Something like that so that it turns into this area and then we just want two stairs right here and right there okay so this is going to be our final floor and i don’t know how we’re doing on time we are probably getting pretty close to the end here But i do want to go ahead and just do one more thing with you guys on camera and that is adding the windows so now this looks like a good section for one right through here and you know we could probably even just keep that style that we’ve got going with the inner Uh window i don’t really know what you’d call that um it’s not really glass pane i don’t know the important thing is that it’s decorative and it looks nice so as long as you got those two things you should be set now can we do we can that’s not something all right awesome So windows will help to light the place up a bit more if you’re a little low on end rods or torches whatever you’re using and then this is going to be the main bedroom study area down here we can have something else maybe a library and i don’t know how much decoration We’ll do down here but let’s go ahead and head out to here we’ll replace this stone brick with um not stone brick but stone block with some upside down stairs to give it a little bit more depth and so then this is what we have going on so far Now i think what i want to do is i want to go ahead and actually replace all of these upper stairs and we’ll make this into just a regular old um stairs to make it look like more of a gradual slope and we do have blocks over here so it Doesn’t look bad when we do that but we might have to add some on the other side as well okay so if we do something like that and then we go well actually before we go back inside let’s see what we can do about this section Hmm i don’t know how i feel about it being level with the floor but you know i think we’ll go ahead and keep it and we’ll do something just like that i think that would be too much so let’s go ahead and put the andesite back for there And then we’ll just do it on these two sides all right so coming back up through here let’s go ahead and add maybe just some regular old polished andesite to these corners and that should be good for covering up those little holes alright so folks you know the drill i’m Gonna go ahead and take a few minutes to go ahead and place in an interior for this building and then we will be back shortly all right folks at long last we are back i’ve gone ahead and added not only the interior but i decorated the exterior simon’s well Which you can probably tell from this giant quartz cloud that i’m standing on so as i mentioned earlier in the video the theme that i wanted to base this wizard off of was sort of like weather and tempest stuff and yada yada so i wound up going ahead And making these little quartz clouds which as you can see they occasionally drip so we got some little rain clouds floating above head from maybe some of his conjuring spells and then coming down to here oh and uh while we’re at it i also went ahead and replaced some of the light blue Pains with dark blue in order to add a little bit more variety and then i also added these little windows right up here on both sides that one’s really raining wow but so that’s what i did to the exterior along with adding some bushes some flowers uh some little rocks i Bone-milled the place and i added the path up to it as well although i still need to add some spruce slabs to make those a more gradual slope so i went ahead and added this little pond and i also added this big old custom oak tree and then there’s also some waterfalls Connecting to it as well this area needs a little bit more decorations i don’t mind it too much but coming over to here you can see that i added a nice little coral farm and i did that because as we get inside you’ll start to see that along with focusing on Weather for this wizard i also went ahead and focused on a lot of water stuff and just tried to stick with that theme as i built up the interior so i’m not even sure where to begin in here but i was originally thinking of making maybe this into some kind of fireplace But i wound up doing a little aquarium under the stairs because again going with that water theme i thought it would be appropriate and if you build something like this uh maybe put in a few less fish than i did i got a little carried away with my Right clicking on the tropical fish but uh that’s a lot of work to fix so we’re not gonna worry about that i added these little end crystals or end rods on both sides to light the place up a bit more along with these little sea lanterns and these funky little custom potted plants Which you’ll see i did a few more of these throughout the tower but the reason i put these cauldrons here is because that’s exactly why i uh added some water up above these little sea lanterns to make it look like some kind of floating globe of water that’s like Dripping down into the corner and the buckets are just there to keep it from getting all over the place so continuing on we have the next four which is our little library and we’ve got a little reading armchair thing it’s a cushion they’re supposed to look softer because of the purple material Some kind of plush material and then we’ve got another one of these custom little blue plants and then we have this little hanging crystal design using the end rods personally i really like this look it’s got a really mystical magical look about it and i use that in one Of my personal games near a big altar shrine thing and it just looks really cool almost like icicles or i don’t even know but it’s been a favorite of mine for a while then coming up here this is uh the bedroom nothing too much double bed for the Grand wizard whatever he is and then one more of these little blue plants and he’s got a pretty nice view of the undeveloped village but then we also added some shelves for some chest way up top so this build has mostly been for decoration purposes it doesn’t really have a lot of Things like furnaces or crafting tables or anything like that which might be used more for a survival world but if you’re building something like this in your own world definitely throw in whatever you want on each level and maybe come up with uh your own theme you Can play around with it do something like fire or i don’t know leave something crazy have fun with the build that’s the whole idea of this and then one last thing i decided to stick around in here is i went ahead and added a few stairs around this door To make it look like a bit more of a fancy exit and you know we might eventually come through and do something to this side of the entrance as well since it’s looking a little boring but for now folks that is going to do it I hope you did enjoy this video i know it was mostly building of the exterior and then i added a lot of the stuff here later on off camera so i do apologize for that but nonetheless i hope you enjoy this concept and the build itself now for the next video We’re going to be taking a short break from the magical builds and we’re going to be doing something special so look forward to that and until next time folks have an awesome one bye foreign Video
