This guide on installing minecraft on the quest or quest 2 is for mac and windows but i’ll be using my mac in this video clips are inserted for parts that are done differently on windows so everyone can follow along all needed links are in the description if you still have pojavlauncher from Your previous attempt i want you to uninstall it then restart your quest before starting over on to the requirements number one sidequest if you don’t have sidequest yet you can watch my quick guide in setting it up you can also install questcraft with an android phone which i have a guide for In another video number two you need to own a legal copy of minecraft java edition it should be owned so gamepass doesn’t work number three you need a microsoft account if you’re still using your mojang account it’s time to migrate it to microsoft deadline for migration is in march 10. Questcraft is already on sidequest but i think the download is currently broken so let’s get the files from the questcraft github for mac i recommend using your safari browser so the zip file gets automatically unzipped on the right click the latest release then download the apk and zip file When the apk finishes downloading click the install app button in sidequest navigate to your downloads and open or double click the apk to install click the number to check the progress click the folder icon to open your quest files this is where you’re going to drag And drop the android folder that’s inside the zip file for mac if you used safari and you didn’t change the default settings you should see a folder called android if you see a zip file called extracttoroot double click it to unzip for windows right click the Zip and choose extract if there is no extract option download 7zip drag and drop the android folder into the sidequest window don’t worry when it says a folder already exists with that name they will just merge you can disconnect the cable when it says completed you might have seen from Other tutorials where they open the quest internal storage on mac you need an app called android files transfer to do that and it’s not just for the quest but for android devices in general in your apps click all in the drop down box and scroll down to unknown sources open pojavlauncher For your first login one important detail you shouldn’t miss is clicking the keep me logged in box it’s a temporary fix to the infinite loading screen issue then use your microsoft account to log in for future logins click select account instead of microsoft login For the version scroll down to the bottom and choose the fabric loader version shown in the video if there is no fabric loader join the questcraft discord go to the common issues channel and download this file while it’s downloading connect your quest to your computer and open sidequest again click The folder button to view your files click android then data then delete this folder by clicking x when the file from discord finishes downloading you know what to do if it’s a zip file you extract do the same thing you did when you downloaded the zip file from github Then drag and drop the folder to sidequest this replaces the folder you deleted you can disconnect the cable when it’s completed restart your quest click settings on the bottom left choose your renderer in video and renderer click the third option click play Then play anyway this will download more files and will launch the game after downloading while it’s loading the screen will turn black for one to three minutes my normal loading time doesn’t go beyond one minute but it could be different for you it could even take up to five Minutes but don’t take off your headset while it’s loading when the screen turns red it’s a good sign because it means loading is almost complete if the game crashes after the red screen it could be Caused by added mods but this is a fresh install so that’s not the case here what i can suggest is allocate more ram go to settings then java tweaks don’t go lower than the default setting but don’t Go too high either if this doesn’t work go to the support channels in discord when creating a world the screen could freeze which is something you shouldn’t worry about because it just means that it’s loading this could take longer than the black screen all you can do is wait For easier access create a shortcut to the minecraft folder in sidequest click the folder button then the plus button next to the oculus logo then click add new enter questcraft for the name for the url and icon url you can copy them from The description you can’t right click in sidequest so use your keyboard to paste press command v for mac or ctrl v for windows click the green plus sign then save your shortcut should now appear next to the oculus logo You can check out the mod compatibility list pinned in the support channel of the questcraft discord it also includes links to the download pages but to make this quick i’m just going to download performance mods from villagerjj’s github there are written instructions here and As instructed delete the default mods in the mods folder so open the sidequest file manager and click the minecraft folder shortcut open the mods folder and delete each mod by clicking x back to github scroll up and click the latest release on the right Under assets you’ll see multiple zip files read the description for this release so you can decide what to download you can’t use the mods if they’re in a zip file so you have to extract them first right click and extract for windows double click for mac but if downloading with Safari in its default settings they should be automatically extracted to a folder called temp drag and drop all the files inside the temp folder to sidequest one website you can download resource packs from is resourcepack.net unlike mods these files need To be in a zip format when copied to the resourcepacks folder so for safari users you can switch to chrome or temporarily change your safari settings so that it doesn’t auto unzip the zip files click safari in the menu bar then preferences at the bottom part of general uncheck open Save files after downloading this disables auto unzipping of zip files when choosing your resource packs be sure to download the ones compatible with 1.18 and choose 32×32 for the resolution anything higher could cause performance issues go back to the minecraft folder by clicking this or the minecraft folder shortcut Drag and drop your resource pack zip file into the resourcepacks folder go back to the minecraft folder in sidequest then open the saves folder this is where you’re going to put your saved worlds open your minecraft installation folder through the minecraft launcher on your computer hover on the version then click The folder next to play open saves folder and drag and drop the world to sidequest while waiting for the in-game keyboard to be added you can use this method to add servers and play multiplayer in questcraft if you are in windows you have two options to do this But i recommend the second method no copy-pasting of files on your part you just need the questcraft toolbox and your quest plugged in in sidequest you should be in the minecraft folder this is where you’ll put the servers file open minecraft on your computer and add the servers you want You can close the game when you’re done open your minecraft installation folder through the minecraft launcher hover on the version and click the folder next to play look for the file called servers this contains all the servers you have on your minecraft computer Installation drag and drop it to sidequest and you should now be able to do multiplayer the application we’ll be using here will automatically close if it can’t find your headset so be sure it’s connected to your pc go to rugmj’s github and download the zip file under how to download Extract the folder and open questcraft toolbox you can change the selection by using the arrow keys the current selection is edit servers this option lets you add servers or delete existing ones if you have any since there’s nothing to delete it automatically chose the add server option when i pressed enter You can type the name and ip but you can also just copy from your source and right click here to paste the window will close once it’s done there’s a tutorial pop-up in game that you might want to get rid of and you can easily do that here Select the remove tutorial pop-up and press enter you’ll know it’s done when the window closes for a mac you’re going to have to edit your options text file open the minecraft folder in sidequest and save options.txt in your computer this is so you can edit the file Delete the original one in sidequest so you can replace it later now open your options text file press command f to open search and enter tutorial there are two tutorials in the results but this is what you need change movement to none Save the changes and drag and drop it to the minecraft folder in sidequest for the controls check the pins in the support channel of the questcraft discord these could change in the future so it’s better that you go there Video Information
