Once, in the Land of Falsor, there were three city-states: Gallmore, Ergasias, and Forentaire.
Each was powerful, in their own respect. But one rose above all the rest…
Gallmore, a small island republic, with it’s legions and splendor, conquered the mainland world in the name of progress and unity. They abandoned their home of origin, and constructed a new city between the two rival states.
Yet the two city-states were not ready to be ruled through democratic values. They wanted a monarch.
And so, Gestahl VonSchlichten the I, the Consular of the Gallmorian Senate, was named the first Emperor of the new Empire: Gestahla.
And so, more time passed by.
Over the years, Gestahla expanded to stretch across the continent. Settlers created their own cultures, derived from that of the Heartlands. But always, they were ruled by Gestahlan Emperors. For it was the will of the god Salvitor that it be so.
And so, the different cultures of Gestahla live in peace and harmony: the original heartlands in the central planes and forests, the Al’Kazir in the southern deserts, and the Hjolfstud in the Northern tundras.
Barbarians, however, still exist… people whom belong to none of the three cultures… And there are yet plenty of islands to explore around the realm.
Progress marches on, and scientific, as well as magical feats alike, progress as well. The world is a changing place indeed…
But will this enlightenment work for the better, or for the worse?
