Minecraft 1.8 Snapshot: Custom Sky World, Beehive Border, Huge Smooth Terrain, US Realms Release

This video intended for educational purposes hey guys it’s the invisible disembodied head of anime kay swimming bird here and welcome back for another Minecraft 1.8 snapshot this is 14 w 17 eh and there were a ton of new features this week if you happen to miss those

I’ll put a link in the description you can check out the last snapshot video but we got a new endermite model we got world borders you can control you can speed up game tick and of course world customization and that’s what we’re gonna talk about here today with some

Other news as well and this is a custom world preset everyone has been playing around with these and getting some amazing results this is a sky world made by underscore kcx on reddit and it’s very simple to put these presets in you just go to customize make a custom world

And you can paste them into the little preset thing there and you can come up with some crazy stuff like I said a lot of people messing around with it and I’m gonna show you a few of the most awesome presets that I’ve seen this one is

Pretty cool I could see this being very tough to build on and play on but it looks amazing look at these floating biomes everywhere there’s a crazy roofed forest it’s all disconnected and he put the biomes really close together and a ton of them everywhere you can tweak all of these to

Your liking of course and I’ll show you some of the other ones here in a sec let’s hop of off of this one if you’re wondering why I’m all weird and visible and only ahead I’m in spectator mode just so we can fly around real fast here

We go we if you haven’t used spectator mode yet you just scroll the mouse wheel to go faster alright let’s hop off here onto another one this one is pretty interesting this is Shea mares sort of flat mode and we’re in this forest here

But if you fly up you can see this is kind of like super flat but not really it’s it’s super flat but it actually has biomes and a little bit of terrain you know these are supposed to be hills right here but he’s made it so that the

Whole world is very flat but you can still play it almost reminds me of going on like an RPG map or something because you can just kind of walk through and there’s all these bushes and flowers at ground level it’s pretty cool most of the action happens underground if you

Find linked ravines and stuff but it’s a nice looking thing and especially if you wanted to build this would be a very good preset to use if you’re looking over here and wondering what this is this is the world border that we talked about last time this is actually

A custom texture that I found on reddit from user M PI R and it has the Beehive shield it’s a reference to Hunger Games but I think there’s a whole like TV Tropes article about beehive shield barriers and stuff because it’s used in so many things I think it’s in like halo

The one shield like tons of stuff use this pattern for futuristic shields and this looks really cool I think it’s an improvement over Mojang’s default barrier but if you wanted to switch this out I’ll put a link to the resource pack for this this is a simplified model too

If you want it a little simpler but yeah you can make your world barriers look really cool with this so let’s hop on to the last world and I did also want to mention that minecraft realms is out in the US and you can go mess with that if

You want to try to get yourself a little server I know they can be a little pricier than the normal servers and I think you have a little less control but we’ll have to see if Mojang adds more features I think they just added the

Ability to opt people so for now I don’t know how much it’s gonna be worth your money to do a realm server but it’s nice that they have that option for people who don’t want to fuss with all the server controls alright so this is the

Last world here that I want to show this is my favorite by far this is log stones smooth world and he made the biomes pretty big you can actually set them down a little bit but the best feature of this is that the terrain actually goes up very smoothly it has some insane

Mountains all throw some screenshots in here for some of the stuff that I discovered why was flying around but the Train is just very smooth like you very rarely get more than a one or two block shut up but it does take you on some crazy hills and stuff like that it’s

Just very I don’t know it looks like it was made by hand some of this train like the way that it’s so smoothed out but it was actually made in the new world customization terrain generator so that’s really awesome I think this would be good for a world to play on I’m

Excited to to try some of this stuff out when we finally get it in 1.8 to use because I’d like to make a nice map with this this is really cool looking I also was thinking about the world barriers and I did I recently did a hardcore

Playthrough of trying to beat the game on a hardcore without dying and I did beat the dragon but now that we have that new world order I was thinking how cool would it be to be like I have ten days to beat the game the world border is gonna

Shrink if you watch the other snapshot video you saw you can actually like shrink the world border over time so I could set like ten minecraft days the world border is gonna shrink and destroy everything its path and kill all the animals and kill me and I have to beat

The game before that I think that would be kind of a fun idea let me know if you would want to watch something like that I’m just thinking about all these new snapshot features and it’s got me excited the Train is a little you know
