Minecraft: Floating Island How To Build Tutorial (Survival, No Mods!) Xbox/PS3/PE/PC

Hey guys what is up the new chemist here and welcome to my floating island tutorial you use you’re gonna need this for the basis for all the castles and houses you guys want to build on top of this cool floating island and I shall show you guys how to build the island

Let’s get started alright so the materials needed are fairly simply just going to need stone it has to be smooth too and you could get away with maybe cobblestone but it might look a little bit odd grass if you have it available you can use silk touch you get that or

You can just use dirt and bring some grass up there via a staircase like this that may take a while but grass will grow on it and you can get it up to your Island alright so let’s get started now build it up a decent height of course as

A floating island you want to sort of high off the ground to get up and down from this you could just leave that there and make it a ladder or you can just tell the board up there if you’re on the PC but if you’re on the Xbox Pok

Edition ps3 any of those version Xbox one ps4 just leave it like that and you can get up and down be a ladder but for aesthetic will sakes I’m going to go ahead and take away that and just leave a little bit of a thing hanging down so

This will give a sort of an effect that it broke off from the earth and sort of float it up just a hand motion there you guys can see that so this right here is six wide and what you want to start to do is just slowly build it up like this

Um you are going to be destroying a lot of this stone in the future just so you can make it look good but just trust me on this it’s definitely needed unless you can somehow free build it which even I can and I’m fairly good at that kind

Of stuff so just build up a 3×3 sort of call them about one point and I don’t know three or four times the height so just a little bit higher so if this is six and this is just a little bit longer maybe two longer and next step is to go

Ahead and dig make it out to now this part you can leave Hollow where you can fill it in I’m just going to go and fill then make it to wider sort of like that and do that all the way around so I’m just doing that here again this will

Look better when we’re done and right here you can go ahead and do three around so again just filling it all the way around I’m going to do that come back again just making it like that and there we go so now you have sort of

A nail licking thing and that is sort of the shape of your island the next step is just kind of to build it out and sort of very 8 you want to make it round so it looks like minecraft terrain but you don’t want to make it look too man-made

Per se so just kind of I can’t really explain what I’m doing here I’m just kind of expanding it out and then kind of rounding it off sort of like how a Minecraft area would look so right here this obviously wouldn’t be right and you can break this off and maybe expand this

Out so just sort of how the terrain flows in Minecraft sort of make that your islands kind of not really a theme but more of the esthetical look so that gives it sort of a natural look and then you can just kind of you know fix what

You want to so I think for an island shape that is fairly decent and so on the underside it’s going to look a little bit odd for right now but that’s where we come into play so if you think this is too long I’m just going to go

Ahead and shorten this one just kind of break up a little bit sort of make it look natural and sort of like host a lag might or stalagtite not sure which one hangs down how it would sort of hang down and just you know flow with the

Whole design here so as you can see I’ve kind of done that and it makes it look more like it’s just kind of hanging there and then you can of course break this and make expand this a little bit and just kind of keep it you know border

‘us that’s not a word from the outside but you guys get the point kind of mirroring what you do up there but just leaving it still a little bit of space on the edges so it looks again natural so from the ground that does look a little bit silly so let’s just shorten

That some more and that Sun glare is really bright so from the ground that does look more of like a floating island per se now so let let’s look at it from the top again and see if we can sort of flat anything out so it does look

Extremely square so I’m just going to go ahead and cut off some edges here and see if I can’t make it a little bit rounder here so and then on the underbelly of it want to change it too just to kind of mirror what you’re doing above and yeah

That does look rounder so that does look like an island from here now just looks like it’s floating up in the air and it doesn’t look too ill natural so right here you can go ahead and you know just connect it some more you know make it look a little bit better

There’s always tweaking to be done here and so this is a little bit harder to do in survival of course because you can’t fly but it’s it’s really you know if you really want it to look good you guys can spend the time on it and sort of make it

Look natural so I’m actually kind of liking this maybe one right there right there something like that yeah I like that I like it see I’m starting to like it first I was doubting myself and boom now you have the floating island sort of base if you don’t want this to hang down

As much again you can kind of shorten that a little bit and do what you’d like I really like this I think that does look like a floating island so that’s sort of the sculpting of the island now to do sort of the grass if again if you

Don’t have grass do not be worried you can just put dirt up here and then do a staircase all the way up it is a little bit harder but you can make it a little bit lower maybe and then the next step is to really just lay on your grass um

If it is a floating island you guys can do maybe some landscaping up here you guys again can scale this up and make it gigantic and I’m going to go ahead and just make a layer of grass on top of all the stone on here and come right back

And voila you’re done so if you want to make it even more natural you could you know maybe do some landscaping up here kind of like how minecraft would do it but I’m just going to leave it flat because we’re going to be doing a lot of

Tutorials up here so if you’re just watching the video for the tutorial so you can make all the cool houses up here that’s pretty much it something you could do under it and this may actually help a tiny bit I don’t know if you guys

Would you know want to do that you could dig out the ground below it and sort of make it look like it kind of like poof like flew up from the ground but that is your basic Island tutorial hope you guys liked it leave a like subscribe if you’d

First and just sort of give it some natural grass and whatnot and then I’m going to add a couple of rose bushes maybe just three or four okay maybe more because I like the way they look and a couple of trees oak preferably and maybe

One near the edge just so you can kind of see it and that looks and Wow maybe three just you can kind of get a view and that looks good so on the underbelly you can use some vines here and keep in mind eventually they will hang down so

You might have to trim them a little bit but for the fur for a first couple while that was totally so so proper English anyways yet for a while they let start to look good when they start to hang down you might have to trim them a

Little bit so I’m just kind of doing some vegetation here so I can take a cool thumbnail picture and I just thought you guys might want to see it so yeah that’s that’s pretty much how you can make it look thumbnail worthy you
