Minecraft : How to build : A Huge PvP Battle Arena

Greetings john here and welcome back to another minecraft tutorial and another video in how to build today we’re going to be building a battle arena i haven’t built one of these in a really long time actually i did build one on the lovely craft server but i didn’t do a how-to uh

On it this is gonna be basically how to how to build this i’m gonna time-lapse it of course but i’ll talk through the entire time lapse it won’t just be uh music so let’s go ahead and get started i’m gonna go with uh sizing as you can see here

I kind of have the outline of this thing already made but i’ll go over it with you guys so you guys aren’t lost so let’s go ahead and get started let’s go to f5 and i’m gonna run around and show you guys exactly what we’re doing here

So this is fairly big if i fly up here right now i put a uh a big old giant x marks a spot towards the center there so i know where center is and how far out i’m gonna build uh my walking paths around the actual stadium

Itself the battle arena itself and i also picked out some colors i’m going to be using um do you guys like the setting i have i’ve never built anything of any kind of grandeur in a mesa biome or badlands now sorry it used to be called the mesa biome um i

Thought it looked kind of cool with the big old peaks and everything the only other place i think i want to build is in the ice spikes biome i think this would be really cool and something like that as well so i just happened to spawn

In near here and i thought this was really freaking cool all these uh what do you call it mesa biomes or the the badlands they’re floating on water they’re not actually embedded in the water it’s such a weird generation except for this area here and then there

Is like mine shafts and stuff over there um this seat is really the mine shafts are actually above ground like all of them it’s really weird all that whole section there is all mine shafts but above ground anyway so enough about that let’s go ahead and get started into building

This thing so what we did was i found center where i wanted this thing and how big i wanted it i knew i wanted to be fairly large so we can actually uh use this thing for future videos not just for fighting pvp but we’re gonna be

Using it for mod reviews uh letting some of the mobs battle it out so i found center here this one block here then i want uh six out from center so one two three four five six making this back stretch here uh 11 long so one two three four five

Six seven eight nine 10 11. now if you don’t like making circles i’m going to put a link in the description of how to make circles of using fantastic websites i did not use this website uh so my circle is not perfect if you go look

From way up here it’s got like almost like a squarish shape to it but nonetheless it’s kind of like what i wanted uh to go with anyway but if you guys want perfect circles there’s a website that’ll generate any size circle you want without having to guess

So you can use that instead of me telling you what to count so that’s but i’m going to go ahead and continue on so i went 11 on this side then i dropped it down one and then went five blocks i dropped it down again went three

Dropped it again and went two and then two again then we went one and one and then we kind of reversed it two two three five eleven five three two two one one and then we repeated that so if you’re if you end up at the end of

Your build and you realize that something doesn’t match up anymore it’s because you miscounted somewhere i’ve done that a million times so if you do it you’re not the only one hope i didn’t confuse you so i then again i went through and i wanted to make sure that this

This is going to be walking paths on the outside and i wanted that to be one two three four five six blocks and it’s actually gonna be five blocks because this wall this is gonna be a wall right here so we’re gonna actually put a wall right here uh where this is

Gonna be the inside of the battle arena right here and then this is gonna be walking paths and then this is gonna be the outside of the walking path so it’s gonna be like a border around it and then the bleachers will sit on top of that border does that make sense

Okay cool so uh the options were either keep it with the same color colorways of the the mesa biome of the badlands i don’t thought that was okay but i want it to stand out a little bit so i went through and i picked out a dif

A bunch of different colors we got either dark oak which i think stands out really really well but so does spruce spruce doesn’t look too bad either the color ways of both of these are not that far off it’s mostly the log portion of it this one’s darker oh this one’s

Lighter than this one but the outsides are for the most part pretty close uh the the wood though this is a lot lighter and this is a lot darker and i feel it stands out against the mesa a lot better so i think we’re going to go

With a dark oak i think i just talked myself into it right now uh but i do like the the trap doors from those better from the spruce logs better same with the door so dang it yeah dark dark girl getting big dark oak it is all right and then um i was

Thinking either prismarine or some of these and a site or the diorite and then a couple of the basic colors of clay as well some of the more colorful ones and then also some white concrete i think we’ll go with this one a little bit of this

And we’re gonna grab our wood i think we’re gonna go with the the stripped logs to start with i think those look really freaking cool and we’re going to use that for the outside bits but for the inside i think we’re going to go with a stone look so the inside walls are

Going to be this white yeah that’s going to stand out really good one two three four five and we’re not gonna go full eleven we’re gonna go on the inside we’re gonna go nine one two three four five six seven eight nine one two three four five six so six

Blocks one two three four five six seven eight nine so that’s gonna be the inside wall now i’m second guessing myself should we be using this brown oh no i think i might one two three four five six seven eight nine i think i like the brown i don’t know why

One two three four five six seven eight nine i think i like the brown better i think it looks a lot more matchy matchy one two three four five six seven eight nine okay remind me never to build them in a mesa again it’s too muddy looking like

I like it but i don’t that makes sense one two three four five six seven eight and nine there we go yeah that’s better okay so that’s what we’re going to do so it’s going to go nine then we go one two three four one two three

One two then we’re gonna go one two one two three one two three and four it’ll match up now we’ve got nine again and we’re gonna go one two three four one two three one two one two one two three one two three four that’s easy enough four one

One two three one two two one two three one two three four perfect all right so that’s our two circles inner circle and outer circle um and then we’re gonna go ahead and add some details to this um as far as entryways and stuff it’s gonna

Be a little different but we’re gonna go ahead and make this go up over here we’re gonna have two entrances at least they’re gonna look like entrances they’re not gonna actually be entrances but that’s what they’re gonna be so we’re gonna make these go up one two three four five six

That’s one two three four five six we’ll go seven total i’m thinking of removing this little hillside here but i have a staircase there for a reason one two three four five six seven i might do another gate right here two three four four five six seven you only really need one door

To get in you don’t need all these multiple entrances it just makes it look more grand all right i think that’s gonna be the basic outline and doorways of this build let’s go ahead and jump into super fast blitz mode i went ahead and made doorways into the actual

Uh battle arena itself and i replaced all the brown terracotta with the stripped logs i think they look so much better they match really well as well so it didn’t like throw it off entirely i give a little detail to the doorway to make it a little bit arched and then i

Went ahead and brought it out to give it a little depth as well i thought at the one number one block on the edge of each section of the circle i guess more like a square and i made a riser of the wood there as well and then i filled in the

Areas with uh with endocyte i thought that looked really good i went ahead and copied and pasted it all um over and over again uh with world edit that’s how i was able to do that part so quickly i’m doing the same kind of thing on the outside here i

Stopped at the number two and number one block on the outside of each stretch of of the walls of the circle i suppose and i did the same thing i made wood uh wood beam go up and then i capped it off with the wood then i went ahead and

Replicated it again four times for each edge of the circley square we’ll call it then i brought the second floor in by one block using the same uh stripped logs uh there’s still a strip dark oak i filled in this area here with um more endocyte but i don’t think i like it

That much i think i’m gonna change it in a second i did the walls again with more endocyte and i put a little window in the back center there uh with iron bars capped everything off with more stripped logs see i replaced the bottom floors with

Actual darko planks and then i put in some bleachers and a section for i suppose like loyalty or vip section in the center there uh with some lighting and some decorations some banners and then i put i flank the other side with more more bleachers so a general admission

Can sit around and watch then i copied and pasted it and repeated that step four times some of the detail was lost when i copied and pasted so i went ahead and fixed those sections there and brought the corners up uh ever so slightly and capped it off with some lighting

And i feel that turned out pretty slick i really like that i surrounded the inside square portion of it with a dark oak fence post and then went ahead and give some detail to the floor section here what i don’t show is the section where i actually do

The uh the fog effect in the floor you’ll see that in just a second i added some iron gates to the sides okay well it looks like we finished i think we got it all done i think it looks really good check it out uh this is our new

Battle arena i did the fog effect over here for in the grave and i want to go do it in the orange over here um i wanted to do it in that corner there so they’re opposite uh but i have a ton of redstone underneath here

And um it won’t let me go much further than this so i could do like two of these they looked kind of awkward so i just kind of left it at that and uh yeah it is what it is i’ll show you guys what the redstone does um so what are we what

We’re gonna use this for is we’re gonna use this for a battle arena for mobs on mobs so we’re gonna put a bunch of mobs on one side and a bunch of mobs on the other side and then we’re gonna drop uh drop a wall and then they’re gonna

Battle so this this lever right here lifts up these blocks too high right here in hopes that they don’t attack each other too much at least while they’re uh sitting in away from each other so they can’t destroy each other just yet then we drop the little

Lever the wall falls down and then they go and attack each other and see which set of mobs wins i know there’s a door over here but i can kind of close most of this off just at least one high uh they’ll try to attack me but i’ll be in

Creative so it won’t really matter yeah so that’s the idea uh behind this battle arena that’s what we’re gonna use it for um i’m not gonna show you guys the redstone it was a pain in the butt i am terrible with redstone um if i showed you guys
